Many researches have been done to define the physical parameters for the wave generation and transformation over a coastal region. However, most of these have been limited to the application of particular conditions, as they are generally too empirical. To yield more reasonable wave estimation using a spectral wave model, it is important to understand how they work for the wave estimation. This study involved a comprehensive sensitivity test against the spectral resolution and the physical source/sink terms of the spectral wave model using SWAN and TOMAWAC, which have the same physical background with several different empirical/theoretical formulations. The tests were conducted for the East Anglian coast, UK, which is characterized by a complex bathymetry due to several shoals and offshore sandbanks. For the quantitative and qualitative evaluation of the models' performance with different input conditions, the wave elements and spectrums predicted at representative sites the East Anglia coast were compared/analyzed. The spectral resolution had no significant effect on the model results, but the lowest resolution on the frequency and direction induced underestimations of the wave height and period. The bottom friction and depth-induced breaking terms produced relatively high variations in the wave prediction, depending on which formulation was applied. The terms for the quadruplet and whitecapping had little effect on the wave estimation, whereas the triads tended to predict shorter and higher waves by energy transferring to higher frequencies.
Objective: The aims of our study were to verify the validity of the T-Scan III system (Tekscan) as an objective occlusal evaluation tool, and to assess the differences between two occlusal indexes - the peer assessment rating (PAR) index and the American Board of Orthodontics objective grading system (OGS) - by comparing the scores derived from the T-Scan III system with the two occlusal indexes and analyzing the correlations between them. Methods: The final study sample included 48 adult volunteers (39 men and 9 women, mean age $24.14{\pm}3.16years$), after excluding 29 volunteers whose occlusion could not be evaluated by the T-Scan III system due to severe skeletal or occlusal problems. PAR index and OGS scores were assessed using dental study models, and measurements of centric occlusion, protrusive movement, and lateral excursion movement were obtained via the T-Scan III system. The results were analyzed to determine correlations. Results: Occlusal analysis by the T-Scan III system was clinically reliable (p < 0.05), and the PAR index and OGS scores were significantly correlated with several measurements obtained with the T-Scan III system (p < 0.05). Conclusions: The T-Scan III system is a quantitative and reliable method for occlusal evaluation, and represents a potential substitute for occlusal indexes. Compared to the PAR index, the OGS scores of more variables were significantly correlated with the T-Scan measurements.
The purpose of study is to provide efficient initial approaches for counseling in social work practice settings. First, it attempts to identify the correlation between the Myers-Brigg's Type Indicator(MBTI), a personality index based on the theory of psychological typology, and Personality Adaptation Types(PAT) models. Second, it attempts to develop a counseling method which can be applied to the initial interview, using the paradigm of door to therapy such as "Open Door", "Target Door", and "Trap Door" based on the PAT theory. The result of the quantitative study showed the correlation between MBTI and PAT as follows: MBTI Extrovert and Feeling(E, F) type was statistically correlated to hysterical PAT. MBTI Extrovert, Intuition and Perceiving(E, N, P) type was statistically correlated to Obsessive-Compulsive PAT. In conclusion, this study finds that when a clinical social worker approaches a client with the client's MBTI personality type and an interventional personality adaptation theory approach such as "Open Door", "Target Door", or "Trap Door", the efficiency of communication is increased significantly.

We present the physical properties of star forming regions in IC 10 obtained from Korea VLBI Network (KVN) 22GHz, the Submillimeter Array (SMA) CO, Very Large Array (VLA) HI 21cm, optical (U, B, V and H-alpha), and Spitzer infrared observations. IC 10 is a nearby (~0.7Mpc) irregular blue compact dwarf (BCD) galaxy which is likely to be experiencing an intense and recent burst of star formation. This nearby infant system showing high star formation rate but low metallicity (<20% of that of the Sun) provides critical environment of interstellar medium (ISM) under which current galactic star formation models are challenged. To make quantitative analysis of the ISM in the galaxy, we apply 2D cross-correlation technique to the multi-wavelength data for the first time. By cross-correlating different tracers of star formation, dust and gas phases in IC 10 in a two dimensional way, we discuss the gas properties and star formation history of the galaxy.
Computational fluid dynamic(CFD) analysis has been frequently applied to the waste incinerators to understand the flow performance for various design and operating parameters. Since the computational modeling inevitably requires many simplifications and complicated sub-models, validity of the results should be carefully evaluated. In this study, major computational modeling and procedure of usual simulation methods for the grate-type waste incinerators were assessed. Usual simulation method does not explicitly incorporate the waste combustion, simply by assuming the combustion gas properties from the waste bed which is treated as an inlet plane. However, effect of this arbitrary assumption on the overall flow pattern is not significant, since the flow pattern is dominated by strong pattern of jet flows of the secondary air. Thus, this method is valid in understanding the effect of flow-related parameters. In analyzing the results, deriving conclusive information directly from temperature and chemical species concentration should be avoided, since the model prediction for the gaseous reaction and the radiation reveals significant discrepancies against the actual phenomena. Use of quantitative measures such as residence time is very efficient in evaluating the flow performance.
This article deals with the spin loss analysis of friction drive CVTs, especially for the cases of S-CVT and SS-CVT. There are two main sources of power loss resulting from slippage in the friction drive CVT, spin and slip loss. Spin loss, which is also a main design issue in traction drives, results from the elastic contact deformation of rotating bodies having different rotational velocities. The structure and operating principles of the S-CVT and SS-CVT are first reviewed briefly. And to analyze the losses resulting from slippage, we reviewed previous analyses of the friction mechanism. A modified classical friction model is proposed, which describes the friction behavior including Stribeck (i.e., pre-sliding) effect. It is also performed an in-depth study for the velocity fields generated at the contact regions along with a Hertzian analysis of deflection. Hertzian results were employed to construct the geometric parameters and normal pressure distributions of the contact surface with respect to elastic and plastic deformations. With analytic formulations of the relative velocity field, deflection, and friction mechanism of the S-CVT and SS-CVT, quantitative analyses of spin loss for each case are carried out. As a result, explicit models of spin loss were developed.
This paper mentions a centralized approach based on SNMP protocol and distributed approach based on mobile agent in network management s system. And it presents a few Quantitative models for systematically evaluating those two different approaches. To do this, we propose model m that is applicable under a uniform network environment, and compare network execution times of each paradigms based on parameters from s simulation. The model is then refined to take into account non-uniform networks. We show that it can reduce overall network execution times b by determining the best interaction patterns to perfo$\pi$n network management operations from this model. We believe that the model proposed h here should help us to decide appropriate paradigms and interaction patterns for developing network management applications.
A lot of design guidelines have been proposed for menu-drive interfaces, but they are applicable only to the menus on ordinary CRT displays. Many hardware products, however, cannot employ large displays because of the cost and space limitations. Instead, a single-line display menu (SDM) is widely used, and the designers need useful guidelines applicable to the SDM. A focus is often placed upon the optimal menu structure, but only the standard menu structures, such as $64^{\1}, 8^{\2}, 4^{\3}, and 2^{\6}$, are tested for optimality. In many cases, however, ill defined or asymmetric structures are suggested as design alternatives. To determine the optimal menu structure, user performance should be obtained in terms of quantitative measures for each of the optional structures considered. Hence, a model is needed to provide a predicted value of user performance for a given menu structure. Although severaal models have been proposed for ordinary menus, none is available for the SDM yet. A performance model was developed in this study using the neural network approach. A The model developed in this study is capable of providing quantiative measures of human performance for any menu structures without conducting additional experiments, which will save much time and reduce the design cost.
Reconstruction of collision accidents is to analyze the cause of accidents and collision behavior using available information from vehicle accident circumstances. This paper introduces a collision reconstruction system which is developed to be applicable to traffic accident reconstruction. Our System combines both quantitative and qualitative collision models so as to compensate for weaknesses in each with strengths of each other. I It provides accurate predictions and causal explanations of the collision behavior. During r reverse analysis of collision. qualitative simulation is used to verify a hypothesis and to detect any conflict in early stage of reconstruction. It is implemented and applied to real car-to-car collision accidents. The test results verify the reliabilities of our techniques.
ERP in the past, primarily centering on large enterprises and the introduction of competition in the global e-business, but along with the proliferation of small and medium-sized enterprises are now in earnest, or to take advantage of the introduction of the ERP plan. However, the introduction of the ERP cost and the effort required to develop, because many never previously introduced ERP expect that the introduction of cost and performance comparisons with the measurement is necessary. Until now, however, the introduction of a framework of analysis followed the introduction of ERP primarily to measure performance of a major improvement. This research, in addition to improving the performance of these tasks have been overlooked until now for the system's user satisfaction BSC (Balanced Scorecard) models and techniques using AHP-specific understanding of the Company (Group executives, middle managers groups, and user groups) Importance of priorities you want to analyze. In summary, the key findings of this study follows. First, ERP user satisfaction measurement for the balanced scorecard indicators in terms of the redevelopment. Second, the information system user satisfaction to the user layer (Layer 3), grouped by the measure. Thirdly, the user satisfaction of the important topics for attention as quantified by measuring the hierarchy. This model is for satisfaction levels as quantitative of future users of the new system, information systems and the introduction of a new model of development based on the evaluation data will be able to take advantage of.
