Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) cable has good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. However, the anchorage of CFRP cable is a big issue due to the anisotropic property of CFRP material. In this article, a high-efficient bonding anchorage with novel configuration is developed for CFRP cables. The acoustic emission (AE) technique is employed to evaluate the performance of anchorage in the fatigue test and post-fatigue ultimate bearing capacity test. The obtained AE signals are analyzed by using a combination of unsupervised K-means clustering and supervised K-nearest neighbor classification (K-NN) for quantifying the performance of the anchorage and damage evolutions. An AE feature vector (including both frequency and energy characteristics of AE signal) for clustering analysis is proposed and the under-sampling approaches are employed to regress the influence of the imbalanced classes distribution in AE dataset for improving clustering quality. The results indicate that four classes exist in AE dataset, which correspond to the shear deformation of potting compound, matrix cracking, fiber-matrix debonding and fiber fracture in CFRP bars. The AE intensity released by the deformation of potting compound is very slight during the whole loading process and no obvious premature damage observed in CFRP bars aroused by anchorage effect at relative low stress level, indicating the anchorage configuration in this study is reliable.

Entrepreneurship has become an important topic for governments to shape and influence the quantity and quality of entrepreneurship and improve policy toward the entrepreneurial economy. This study investigates the factors affecting the entrepreneurial decision of nascent entrepreneurs belonging to Generation Y in Vietnam. A mixed-method including both qualitative and quantitative methodologies was utilized. A focus group was carried out with 11 participants for exploring, reviewing, and testing content validity of constructs and measurement items. The conceptual model and hypotheses were developed using data collected by a questionnaire survey. The cross-sectional survey method was applied. A sample of 221 respondents was constituted, by both electronic and paper surveys with non-probability and convenience sampling techniques. SmartPLS 3 software was employed to analyze the data collected. The results show that nine factors were affecting the entrepreneurial decision of nascent entrepreneurs belonging to Generation Y in Vietnam, including entrepreneurial education, family background, entrepreneurial ecosystem, perceived behavioral control, social valuation, perceived opportunity, attitude, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial intention. The findings show the importance of entrepreneurial education, social value, and ecosystems. Therefore, in order to promote successful entrepreneurship, it is necessary to strengthen entrepreneurship education and have a strategy for the improvement of the entrepreneurship ecosystem.
This study investigated the quality characteristics and antioxidant effects of rice cookies containing different percentage of freeze-dried plum powder (3%, 5%, 6%, and 12%). The density of the dough and the thickness of the rice cookies from the control group and the additive group were not significantly different. The pH value of the dough, its moisture content and spread factor, as well as the Hunter's L and b values of the rice cookies significantly decreased as the amount of dried plum powder added increased. However, the sweetness, hardness, thickness, Hunter's a value, total polyphenol, total flavonoid and anthocyanin contents, DPPH and ABTS free radials scavenging activity, and ferric reducing antioxidant power of the rice cookies significantly increased as the amount of dried plum powder added increased. Overall, the results of this study showed that adding dried plum power enhanced the antioxidant activities and quality characteristics of rice cookies.
Providing services using kiosks is actively carried out between suppliers and consumers. These service processes have recently begun to play a dominant role in transactions. However, previous self-service technology (SST) studies or kiosks have not fully reflected the changing environment surrounding these different technologies. To cover the updated business environments, we combined qualitative and quantitative research methods. Through qualitative research and a review of previous studies, the variables emphasized as motivations and constraints for kiosks use and those that can be newly illuminated were selected for this study. We then applied the variables to the research model to assess their influence. In terms of the motivations for using kiosks, the results suggest that perceived usefulness and compatibility as service quality, forced use, and perceived service providers' efficiency as provider polices, absorptive capacity, and habit as an individual characteristic and social influence as a subjective norm have a significant effect on the attitude toward kiosks. In terms of constraints, difficult to use and need for interaction predicts the attitude toward kiosks. Attitude toward kiosks, perceived behavioral control, and social influence are directly related to the intention to use kiosks. Lastly, intention to use kiosks plays a significant role as an antecedent of revisit intention. Using these empirical results, we propose both academic and practical implications for future kiosks use.
The study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Hericium erinaceum Powder (HEP) on the quality characteristics of Jook. The proximate composition of HEP was as follows: moisture, 6.10%; crude protein, 32.69%; crude lipid, 4.63%; crude ash, 11.40%; and carbohydrates, 45.18%. Each sample contained 3, 6, and 9% Jook of Hericium erinaceum Powder (JHEP) compared to the control and their physicochemical properties assessed. As the level of HEP increased, there was a significant decrease in pH (p<0.05) and significant increase in total acidity (p<0.001). In addition, L and a values decreased, whereas b value increased with increasing addition of HEP. The Jook showed lower spreadability and higher viscosity values as its content increased. According to the results, addition of HEP positively affects the quality characteristics of Jook.
Objective : The incidence and prevalence of spinal metastases are increasing, and although the role of radiation therapy in the treatment of metastatic tumors of the spine has been well established, the same cannot be said about the role of stereotactic radiosurgery. Herein, the authors present a systematic review regarding the value of spinal stereotactic radiosurgery in the management of spinal metastasis. Methods : A systematic literature search for stereotactic radiosurgery of spinal metastases was undertaken. Grades of Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Education (GRADE) working group criteria was used to evaluate the qualities of study datasets. Results : Thirty-one studies met the study inclusion criteria. Twenty-three studies were of low quality, and 8 were of very low quality according to the GRADE criteria. Stereotactic radiosurgery was reported to be highly effective in reducing pain, regardless of prior treatment. The overall local control rate was approximately 90%. Additional asymptomatic lesions may be treated by stereotactic radiosurgery to avoid further irradiation of neural elements and further bone-marrow suppression. Stereotactic radiosurgery may be preferred in previously irradiated patients when considering the radiation tolerance of the spinal cord. Furthermore, residual tumors after surgery can be safely treated by stereotactic radiosurgery, which decreases the likelihood of repeat surgery and accompanying surgical morbidities. Encompassing one vertebral body above and below the involved vertebrae is unnecessary. Complications associated with stereotactic radiosurgery are generally self-limited and mild. Conclusion : In the management of spinal metastasis, stereotactic radiosurgery appears to provide high rates of tumor control, regardless of histologic diagnosis, and can be used in previously irradiated patients. However, the quality of literature available on the subject is not sufficient.
As society's relience on computerized information systems to support a wide range of activities proliferates, the long recognized importance for adequate data quality becomes imperative. Furthermore, current trends in information systems such as dispersal of the data resource together with its management have increased the difficulty of maintaining suitable levels of data integrity. Especially, the importance of adequate accounting (transaction) data quality has been long recognized and many procedures (extensive and often elaborate checks and controls) to prevent errors in accounting systems have been introduced and developed. Nevertheless, over time, even in the best maintained systems, deficiencies in stored data will develop. In order to maintain the accuracy and reliability of accounting data at certain level, periodic internal checks and error corrections (internal audits) are required as a part of internal control system. In this paper we develop a general data quality degradation (error accumulation ) and cost model for an account in which we have both error occurrences and error amounts and provide a closed form of optimal audit timing in terms of the number of transactions that should occur before an internal audit should be initiated. This paper also considers the cost- effectiveness of various audit types and different error prevention efforts and suggests how to select the most economical audit type and error prevention method.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine effects of a muscle strength reinforcement exercise program (MSREP) for older adult patients with hemodialysis (OAPHD) which was designed to improve health status and quality of life of these older adult patients. Methods: Participants were 40 patients with OAPHD: 20 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group. MSREP was conducted with the experimental group for 12 weeks at H geriatric hospital. An assessment was done to determine effects on physical performance, inflammation index, fatigue, muscle strength and quality of life. Short physical performance battery, C-Reactive Protein (CRP), visual analog scale for fatigue, object lifting' proposed by the Life Options Rehabilitation Advisory Council, sit-to-stand test, and quality of life index were used to gather data. Results: Between the 2 groups there was no significant difference in scores for physical performance, fatigue or quality of life. However, the 2 groups showed significant difference in CRP values and muscle power scores on post-test. Conclusion: Findings provide evidence for the potential utility of education for older adult patients with hemodialysis. Also, this program could allow these patients to increase muscle strength, and contribute to achieving better health conditions in OAPHD care.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the status of tuberculosis (TB) infection control in hospitals. Method: This study was a cross-sectional descriptive study in which self-administered questionnaires were used to survey 77 hospitals. Data were collected from August 12 to September 15, 2012. Results: Only 27 institutions (35.1%) were monitoring patients infected with or suspected of having TB. Most hospitals were conducting TB prevention education for patients' family and employees, and TB screening for employees along with follow-up examinations. However, private negative pressure rooms were more often available in wards and intensive care units than in outpatient departments, and in institutions with over 700 beds located in Seoul or GyeongGi Province. Most hospitals ensured that masks were placed on infected patients while transporting them. In addition, efforts to control TB infection such as placing respiratory etiquette posters in outpatient departments and airborne infection signs on the doors in the wards were also well established in most institutions. Conclusion: More efforts are needed to improve the status of TB infection control to ensure quality care, especially in terms of monitoring patients with TB infections and making private negative pressure rooms available in outpatient departments.
