This is a qualitative case study conducted for the purpose of enhancing educational effect of safety education facilities. Recently, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has proclaimed the 7 standards for school safety education, and has established safety education facilities to implement experience-based safety education. This study attempted to explore ways to enhance educational effect of safety education facilities through participatory observation and interview conducted with personnel of several facilities. The findings of the study were as follows: it was necessary to secure and maintain facilities for the implementation of substantial safety education, to develop and distribute standardized curriculum and materials, and to improve quality of professional instructors. The study suggested implications and future tasks to improve the education effect of safety education facilities in various dimensions.

In medical diagnostic process we are dealing with the preliminary diagnosis based on the interview chart. We will quantify the qualitative information of a patient by dual scaling and establish both prototypes of fuzzy diagnostic sets and the fuzzy linear regressions. Its utility is shown in the diagnosis of headache and CAFDDH.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore Korean mothers' experiences of caregiving for their adult children with schizophrenia. Method: A iterative descriptive qualitative research design was used to understand and explain the caregiving experience from the perspective of mothers. The data were collected by individual in-depth interviews and one focus group interview from 11 mothers. The ages of the participants ranged from 50 to 60 years old and the ages of their sick children ranged from late 20s to early 40s, Results: Three major themes were identified from qualitative thematic analysis: (a) 'emotional debris from the disease,' (b) 'the disease that makes mothers dumb' (c) 'space of rational reason,' Conclusions: This study would provide health care professionals insights in establishing intervention for mothers by deeply understanding the process of recognition and acceptance of their children with schizophrenia.

Due to the growth of the preschooler clothing industry, significant research has been conducted on the pursued benefits, purchase behavior, and purchase intension related to preschooler clothing; however, reports on the consumption value of preschooler clothing remain limited. This study provides a consumption value for preschooler clothing through qualitative research. A total of 15 mothers of preschoolers aged 1-6 years old were interviewed on the consumption value of preschooler clothing. The subsequent consumption value of preschooler clothing consisted of 9 major factors (vicarious satisfaction value, social display/image value, safety value, convenient value, economic value, distinguishable value, expressive-aesthetic value, fashionable value and conditional value). In addition, the vicarious satisfaction value, social display/image value, safety value, and convenient value were new-expressed values that differed from previous reports on the consumption value of adult clothing.

In this paper, we conducted cross-cultural studies on digital images, which is an important element of the user interface. We brought in the schema theory to explain the cross-cultural difference in expressing and perceiving digital images. Participant-ethnography, in-depth interview, and card sorting were conducted to explore how expression and perception of image are influenced by schemas. Our results of qualitative studies indicate that there are differences in schemas between cultures depending on the topic of expression and perception. With these results, we suggest globalization and localization strategies of website.

In this study the author examines the health information seeking behavior of older adults from the perspective of cognitive load. Using a qualitative method, based on ground theory, data were collected using in-depth interviews. Twenty-eight participants were participating older adults living in G community city, South Korea who experienced seeking health information. Interview transcripts were analyzed using a qualitative thematic coding framework. Three themes describing older adults' health information seeking behaviors were focused: intrinsic, extraneous, and germane cognitive load. The findings are geared towards the context of older adults' information seeking to support an understanding of successful information seeking behaviors in this population and to contribute to their health and well-being. The intent is to present information on current research in the field of Library and Information Science and to demonstrate how a cognitive load approach can be used to address the problems of older adults' health information seeking behaviors.

This paper takes a qualitative approach to examining liveability by analysing the participatory planning proposals delivered by the local residents in Daegu, South Korea. Drawing on the textual resources of the proposals and interview data, the perceived liveability was found to vary across different neighbourhoods, and community cohesion and community capacity building were found highly valued in the liveability discourses in the Korean context. The paper argues that our understandings of liveability should be localised and contextualised at a sub-municipal level. It also highlights that participatory planning can be useful in articulating local communities' perception and experiences of liveability of their immediate localities, particularly in the less attractive and less affluent neighbourhoods in the city.

본 논문에서는 음성 게시판을 활용한 판소리 학습 방법을 제시하고, 제시된 판소리 학습 방법에 대한 효과를 질적 연구 방법을 통하여 분석하였다. 참여관찰, 면담, 학습 장면에 대한 비디오 분석 등의 질적 접근 방법을 통한 자료 분석 결과에 따르면, 제안된 음성 게시판을 활용한 학습 방법은 학생들의 판소리에 대한 흥미와 관심을 유발시킬 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 국악에 대한 지속적인 관심을 유도할 수 있는 가능성을 볼 수 있었다.

Speech-language therapist's experiences of their clinical practice offer greater insight to develop the assessment model for resonance disorders appropriate to the clinical setting. In order to investigate their experiences of resonance disorders qualitatively, a semi-structured interview questionnaire was developed on the basis of the review of the literatures about the assessment procedures. From the interviews with 4 speech therapists analysed by using a qualitative, constant-comparative method, 3 main themes were derived: (1) the currently accepted definitions and characteristics of the resonance disorders, (2) the status quo of the assessment procedures, and (3) the needs for the improvement of the assessment procedures. In addition, 15 sub-themes were emerged from the 3 main themes. All themes mentioned by the therapists provide the directions for the development of comprehensive and valid assessment model for the resonance disorders in Korea.
