한국인 정상교합자의 3차원 디지털 모형을 이용한 순,협측 치면 곡률 (Labial and buccal surface contours of Korean normal occlusion in a three-dimensional digital model)

  • 본 연구는 한국인의 치아형태에 적합한 브라켓 베이스를 만들기 위해 임상 치관의 순,협측 곡률을 3차원적으로 계측하여 치관의 곡률 자료를 얻고자 하였다. 정상적인 해부학적 형태를 가지는 구강모형 30쌍을 3차원 디지털 모델로 제작한 후, FA점을 기준으로 수평 기준면과 수직 기준면을 설정하였다. 이 기준면에 대한 치면의 곡선을 형성한 후, 곡률을 이차방정식의 계수로 표현하였다. 수평면과 수직면의 곡률과 FA점을 기준으로 근심과 원심, 치은측과 교합면측의 곡률을 측정한 결과, 상악견치와 상악 제2소구치 외에는 남녀간 치면 곡률의 유의한 차이가 없었다. 하악 측절치, 상악 견치, 상하악 제1, 2소구치와 제1대구치에서 근원심 또는 치은교합면측 치면 곡률의 유의한 차이가 관찰되었다 (p < 0.05). 본 연구에서 얻어진 순,협측 치면의 곡률 자료는 한국인의 치아 형태에 적합한 Straight Wire Appliance 개발의 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있다.

마우스 소뇌과립층의 apoptosis를 지표로 한 진단용 초음파의 안전성 검증 (The evaluation on the biological safety of diagnostic ultrasound using radiation-induced apoptosis in the external granular layer of mouse cerebellum)

  • We have studied, by a nonisotopic in situ end-labeling(ISEL) technique, frequency of apoptosis in the external granular layer(EGL) of the cerebellum of immature mice by ${\gamma}$-rays irradiation from $^{60}Co$ or diagnostic ultrasound exposure. The total number of normal cells and cells showing morphological features of apoptosis were counted. The frequency of apoptotic cells was expressed as a percentage of the total number of cells in EGL. The extent of changes following 200 cGy(1090 cGy/min) was studied at 2, 4, 6, 8, 12, or 24 hours after exposure. The maximal frequency was found 6~8 hours after exposure. The immature mice that received 18, 36, 54, 108, 198, 396 cGy of ${\gamma}$-rays or diagnostic ultrasound(7.5MHz, 4.2mW, $I_{SPTA}=7.9mW/cm^2$, $I_{SPTA}=114.3W/cm^2$) for 10 or 30 minutes were examined 6 hours after irradiation. Measurements performed after ${\gamma}$-ray irradiation showed a dose-related increase in apoptotic cells in each of the mice studied. The dose-response curves were analyzed by a linear-quadratic model ; frequency of apoptotic cell in the EGL was y = $(0.1349{\pm}0.01175)D$+$(-0.0001522{\pm}0.0000334)D^2$+0.048($r^2$ = 0.981, D = dose in cGy). In the experiment of ultrasound exposure, the frequency of apoptotic cell was $0.106{\pm}0.130$(10 minutes exposure) and $0.167{\pm}0.220$(30 minutes exposure). We estimated the relative dose of the yield from the experiment with ultrasound by substituting the yield from ultrasound exposure into the curve from the ${\gamma}$-irradiation. The relative dose of ultrasound exposure compared with ${\gamma}$-irradiation were 0.432 cGy(10 minutes exposure) and 0.885 cGy(30 minutes exposure). We have found that there is no evidence to indicate that diagnostic ultrasound involves a significant risk.

Retinoic acid가 사람 정상 구강각화세포의 방사선감수성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effect of retinoic acid on the radiosensitivity of normal human oral keratinocyte)

  • Purpose : To evaluate the effect of all-trans-retinoic acid (ATRA) on the radiosensitivity of normal human oral keratinocyte (NHOK). Materials and methods: Relative cell survival fraction including SF2 (survival fraction at 2 Gy) was calculated on the basis of colony formation assay. Data were fitted to the linear-quadratic model to establish the survival curve and calculate α and β values. Using flow cytometry at 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 days after exposure to 2 and 10 Gy irradiation, cell cycle arrest and apoptosis were analysed. To understand the molecular mechanism of the radiosensitization of ATRA on NHOK, proteins related with apoptosis and cell cycle arrest were investigated by Western blot analysis. Results: Treatment with ATRA resulted in a significant decrease of SF2 value for NHOK from 0.63 to 0.27, and increased α and β value, indicating that ATRA increased radiosensitivity of NHOK. ATRA increased LDH significantly, but increasing irradiation dose decreased LDH, suggesting that the radiosensitizing effect of ATRA is not directly related with increasing cell necrosis by ATRA. ATRA did not induce appotosis but increased G2 arrest after 10 Gy irradiation, implying that the increased radiosensitivity of NHOK may be due to a decrease in mitosis casued by increasing G2 arrest. ATRA inhibited the reduction of p53 at 3 days after l0Gy irradiation and increased p21 at 1 day after 10 Gy irradiation. Further study is required to determine the precise relationship between this effect and the radiosensitizing effect of A TRA. Conclusion: These results suggested that ATRA increase radiosensitivity by inhibiting mitosis caused by increasing G2 arrest.

  • 토목섬유로 보강된 성토사면에 대한 사면안정해석은 보강재의 효과를 고려하여 수정된 한계평형해석법을 사용하는 것이 일반적이나, 대부분의 경우 보강재에 의하여 활동면상에 증가된 전단저항력만을 고려함으로써 전체 활동토체의 평형조건의 만족여부는 확실치 않다. 일반적으로 사면안정해석은 활동면상의 법선응력의 분포를 구하는 것으로 귀결 되므로, 본 연구에서는 활동면상에 작용하는 법선응력의 분포를 수평방향의 거리 $\chi$에 대한 2차함수로 가정하여 보강재의 효과를 고려하면서 힘과 모멘트의 평형조건을 모두 만족하는 새로운 사면안정해석법을 제안하였다. 제안된 사면 안정해석법은 잘 알려진 보강 및 무보강 사면에 대한 사면안정해석 사례와 보강토 옹벽 및 보강사면에 대한 모형실험 결과에 대한 해석을 통하여 그 타당성을 검토하였다. 그 결과 본 연구에서 제안한 방법은 보강 및 무보강사면에 대하여 타당한 사면활동에 대한 안전율을 제공해주는 것으로 나타났다.

하향식 탄성파를 통한 경기 편마암의 동탄성 특성연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Dynamic Elastic Modulus in GyeongGi Gneiss Complex by Down Hole Test)

  • 본 연구에서는 경기도 일대의 편마암지역 11곳에서 다운홀(down-hole) 탄성파탐사를 이용하여 획득한 탄성파속도를 이용, 편마암지역에서의 탄성파 속도와 동탄성계수와의 상관성을 조사하였다. 연구결과 편마암에서의 탄성파속도의 특성은 $V_s=0.5589{\times}V_p$ 상관관계를 보여준다. 탄성파 속도와 동탄성계수와의 상관관계는 두 개의 군으로 분리된다. 풍화가 진행됨에 따라 첫 번째 군은 암석의 비중에 큰 영향을 받지만 두 번째 군에서는 절리면의 간격에 영향을 받는다. 풍화가 진행됨에 따라 첫 번째 군은 감소하는 경향을 보인다. 경암반에서의 압축파속도($V_p$) 동탄성계수($E_d$, $G_d$, $K_d$)의 상관관계는 선형으로 분석되었지만, 보통암반에서의 압축파속도($V_p$)와 동탄성계수($E_d$, $G_d$, $K_d$)의 상관관계는 2차 함수 포물선 곡선의 형태를 띠는 것으로 분석되었다. 전단파속도($V_s$)와 동탄성계수($E_d$, $G_d$, $K_d$)의 상관관계 또한 압축파속도($V_p$)와 유사한 결과를 보이는 것으로 분석되었다.

Fisher-Pry 수정모형을 활용한 유망대체기술 예측에 관한 연구 (A Study on Technological Forecasting for Promising Alternative Technologies Using Fisher-Pry Modification Model)

  • 글로벌시장경쟁에서 국가와 기업은 미래 핵심유망기술에 진입을 시도하고 선점하여 기업의 이윤을 극대화하고자 기술예측 활동을 적극 전개하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존기술이 적용된 제품이 유망 신기술로 대체되어 시장을 지배하는데 소요되는 시장대체시간을 예측하고자 특허출원동향에 기반을 둔 성장모형을 제안한다. 유망대체기술 출현을 예측하기 위해 Bhargava가 일반화한 Fisher-Pry 모형은 최초 Fisher-Pry 모형에 비해 예측결과가 비교적 만족스러웠지만, 변수 문제로 대체율 거동을 제대로 예측하기가 쉽지 않았다. 이를 해결하기 위해 3개의 변수를 갖는 지수함수를 3개의 변수를 갖는 2차 방정식으로 수정하였고, 이 수정모형은 대체율 거동에 잘 부합되는 함수 거동을 보여주었다. 광저장장치기술에 대한 대체시간 예측 검증을 위하여 광저장장치의 특허동향분석을 통한 2차 방정식 형태의 Fisher-Pry 수정모형을 적용한 결과 만족스러운 검증결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 비록 1차 방정식 보다는 결정할 변수가 하나가 늘어 다소 복잡하여 졌으나, 대체율 거동 예측 정확도가 높아졌다. 이는 시장대체시간 예측 분석에 있어 종래 방법론에 비해 소요되는 인적, 시간적, 비용적인 측면에서 많은 효율성을 제고할 수 있게 되었다. 중소기업 및 개인 연구자들도 본 모형을 적용하여 유망대체기술에 대한 시장대체시간을 쉽게 예측할 수 있도록 간편성과 사용성을 높여 활용도가 높을 것으로 기대된다.

The Effect of Export on R&D Cost Behavior: Evidence from Korea

  • Purpose - This research intends to find out whether R&D cost stickiness shows differentiated aspects depending on exports in Korea. A cost behavior that indicates a lower rate of costs decrease when sales decrease than the rate of costs increase when sales increase is called cost stickiness. This sticky cost behavior is caused by considering the adjusting costs. This study aims to empirically verify that R&D cost stickiness is greater in export firms than in non-export firms. We also investigate the effect of exports on R&D cost stickiness is nonlinear. Design/methodology - We obtain data for the analysis from Kis-Value and TS2000 from 2012 to 2020. This study tests for R&D cost stickiness of exports using the cost stickiness model developed by Anderson et al. (2003) that is used in a lot of prior literature. To explore the nonlinear behavior of R&D cost stickiness we include a quadratic term of exports in our model. Findings - The results of our analysis are as follows. First, we observed that R&D costs of export firms are more sticky than that of non-export firms. Our result indicated that export firms are less likely to reduce R&D costs in decreasing sales periods in preparation for future sales recovery. Second, our empirical evidence shows that export firms view R&D costs much favorably. However, we hypothesize that the effect of export intensity on R&D costs may not necessarily be linear. Our result shows the effect of exports intensity on R&D stickiness is thus nonlinear, forming a reverse U-shaped curve. When export intensity exceeds a certain threshold, the growth rate of R&D costs appears to be viewed negatively. Firms with relatively high export intensity do not support R&D costs, viewing them as taking away firms' resources from other more productive costs. On the contrary, those with export intensity under the threshold view R&D costs as beneficial and therefore promote further R&D costs when revenue decreases. Originality/value - The results of this research can contribute academically to the expansion of empirical research on R&D cost stickiness. R&D cost stickiness varies by industry. As a result of our research, the managers of export firms recognize the importance of R&D to lead innovation. We expected that this research contributes to further studies on R&D costs and cost stickiness. Second, this research has implications from a business perspectives. Our findings of export firms' R&D stickiness suggest that export firms' managers should consider keeping the stickiness of R&D when revenue decreases because it is essential for exporting firms to maintain their R&D stickiness to secure long-term competitiveness. R&D stickiness can be used on a practical basis to emphasize the need for continuous investment in exporting firms' R&D activities.

  • In analyzing the operational characteristics of a rice whitening machine, the internal radial pressure of the machine was measured using strain gage equipment. Changes in cylinder and feed screw configurations, screen type, cylinder speed and counter-pressure levels were examined to determine their impact on the quality and quantity of milled rice and the performance of the machine. The results are summarized as follows: 1. The internal radial pressure in the whitening chamber varied with the surface condition of the grain being processed. During the first or second pass through the machine, pressure was relatively low, reached a maximum after two to three passes with combinations I and II, three to six with combination III and then began to fall. 2. The pitch of the feed screw and the size of the feed gate opening which determine the rate of entry of grain into the whitening chamber, appeared to be the most important factor aff-::cting the degree of radial pressure, quality and quantity of milled rice and the efficiency of the machine. Using a feed screw with a wide pitch (4.8cm), radial pressure was relatively high and head rice recovery ratio \vere quite low. In this case capacity and machine effic?iency were much higher than obtained when using a feed screw with a narrow pitch (2.3cm). Very significant responses in radial pressure, head rice recovery rates and machine capacity were observed with changes in cylinder speed and counter-pressure levels when using the wide pitch feed screw. 3. The characteristics of the screen which surrounds the whitening chamber had an important effect on whitening efficiency. The existence of small protuberances on the original screen resulted in significant increases in both machine capacity and efficiency but without a significant decrease in head rice recovery or development of excessive radial pressure. Further work is required to determine the effects of screen surface conditions and the shape of the cylinderical steel roller on the rate of bran removal, machine efficiency and recovery rates. The size of the slotted perforations 0:1 the screen affects total milled rice recovery. The opening size on the original screen was fabricated to accommodate the round shape of Japonica rice varieties but was not suitable for the more slender Indica type. Milling Indica varieties with this screen resulted in a reduction in total milled rice recovery. 4. An increase in cylinder speed from 380 to 820 rpm produced a positive effect on head rice recovery for all machine combinations at every level of counter-pressure used in the tests. Head rice recovery was considerably lower at 380rpm using a wide screw pitch when compared to the results obtained at speeds from 600 to 820 r.p.m. The effects of cylinder speed On radial pressure, capacity and machine efficiency showed contrasting results, depending on the width of the feed screw pitch. With a narrow feed screw pitch (2.3cm), a direct proportional relationship was observed bet?ween cylinder speed and both radial pressure and machine efficiency. In contrast, using a 4.8 centimeter pitch feed roller produced a series of inverse relationships between the above variables. Based on the results of this study it is recommended when milling Indica type long grain rice varieties that the cylinder speed of the original machine be increased from 500-600 rmp up to a minimum of 800 rpm to obtain a greater abrasive effect between the grain and the screen. The pitch of the feed screw should be also reduced to decr?ease the level of internal radial pressure and to obtain higher machine efficiency and increased quality of milled rice with increased cylinder speeds. Further study on the interaction between cylinder speed and feed screw pitch is recommended. 5. An increase in the counter pressure level produced a negative effect On the head rice recovery with an increase in radial pressure, capacity, and machine efficiency over all combinations and at every level of cylinder speed. 6. Head rice recovery rates were conditioned primarily by the pressure inside the whitening chamber. According to the empirical cha racteristics curve developed in this study, the relationships of head rice recovery ($Y_h$) and machine capacity ($Y_c$/TEX>) to internal radial pressure ($X_p$) followed an inverse quadratic function and a linear function respectively: $$Y_h^\Delta=\frac{1}{{1.4383-0.2951X_p^\ast+0.1425X_p^{\ast\ast}}^2} , (R^2=0.98)$$$$Y_c^\Delta=-305.83+374.37X_p^{\ast\ast}, (R^2=0.88)$$The correlation between capacity and power consumption per unit of brown rice expressed in the following exponential function: $$Y_c^\Delta=1.63Y_c^{-0.7786^\{\ast\ast}, (R^2=0.94)$$These relationships indicate that when radial pressure increases above a certain range (1. 6 to 2.0 kg/$cm^2$ based On the results of the experiment) head ricerecovery decrea?ses in a quadratic relation with a inear increase in capacity but without any decrease in power consump tion per unit of brown rice. On the other hand, if radial pressure is below the range shown above, power consumption increases dramatically with a lin?ear decrease in capacity but without significant increases in head rice recovery. During the operation of a given whitening machine, the optimum radial pressure range or the correct capacity range should be selected by controlling the feed rate and/or counter-pressure keeping in mind the condition of the grain, particulary the hardness. It was observed that the total number of passes is related to radial pessure level, feed rate and counter-pressure level. The higher theradial pressure the fewer num?ber of pass required but with decreased head rice recovery. In particular, when using high feed rates, the total number of passes should be increased to more than three by reducing the counter-pressure level to avoid decreaseases in head rice recovery (less than 65 percent head rice recovery on the basis of brown rice) at every cylinder speed. 7. A rapid rise in grain temperature seemed to have a close relationship with the pressure generated inside the whitening chamber and, subsequently with head rice reco?very rates. The higher the rate of increase, the lower were the resulting head rice recoveries.

  • 청보리, 밀, 호밀, 트리티케일, 귀리 등 5종의 총체맥류에 대하여 중부지역에서 답리작 재배시 월동 후인 3월 15일 부터 6월 15일까지 10일 간격으로 10회에 걸쳐 예취한 후 각 작물별 예취시기에 따른 사료가치를 비교하였다. ADF 함량은 5종의 총체맥류 모두 월동 후 증가하다가 각 작물별로 최고점에 도달한 후 성숙이 진행됨에 따라 감소되는 2차원적인 경향을 보였고, NDF 함량은 월동 후 점진적으로 증가하다가 대체로 어느 일정시기 이후에는 정체되거나 다소 감소되는 경향을 보였으며, 조단백질 함량은 잎이 풍부한 월동 직후에 높았다가 생육단계가 진행됨에 따라 점진적으로 감소되는 경향을 보였다. 가소화건물(DDM) 함량은 총체맥류 5종 모두 월동 후 생육이 진전될수록 낮아지다가 출수기 이후 종실이 충실해짐에 따라 다시 증가되는 경향을 보였고, 상대사료가치(RFV)는 월동 후 잎이 풍부한 생육초기에 높았다가 생육이 진전됨에 따라 감소되었으며, 출수기 이후에 종실이 충실해지면서 다시 증가되는 경향을 보였다. 맥종별로 보면 청보리인 영양보리는 다른 총체맥류에 비하여 출수기 이후 ADF와 NDF 함량이 낮았고, 가소화건물 함량과 상대사료가치(RFV)가 높았다. 금강밀은 다른 총체맥류에 비하여 단백질 함량이 높았고, 출수기 이후 가소화건물 함량과 상대사료 가치가 곡우호밀, 신영트리티케일, 삼한귀리에 비하여 상대적으로 높았다. 곡우호밀은 다른 총체맥류에 비하여 내한성과 내재해성이 강하지만 월동 후 성숙기 까지 ADF와 NDF 함량이 높고, DDM 함량과 상대사료가치 (RFV)가 낮은 조사료 작물에 해당하였다. 신영트리티케일은 영양보리 또는 금강밀과 곡우호밀의 중간적인 특성을 보였으며, 생육후기로 갈수록 가소화건물 수량이 직선적으로 증가하였다. 삼한귀리는 출수 전까지 ADF와 NDF 함량이 낮고 단백질이 풍부하였지만, 출수 후 성숙이 진행될수록 다른 총체맥류에 비하여 변화가 적었다.
