This study attempted to investigate household's private educational expenditure that aggravates a burden on households by using the data from the 2014 Private Education Survey published by Statistics Korea. The effects of purposes of private education and participation in an after school program that is pushed by the government on household's private educational expenditure were analyzed. The major findings were as follows. First, the major purposes of private education lean toward preparing to enroll in school and relieving parents'uneasiness rather than prior learning Second, according to the purposes of private education, the differences of the private educational expenditure were verified. Households spend the highest level of private educational expenditure for the purpose of preparing to enroll in school contrary to the lowest level, which was for the purpose of compensatory learning. Third, participation in an after school program that is regarded as a method of moderating households' private education burden, had a positive effect on reducing private educational expenditure. Forth, private educational expenditure was influenced by the purposes of private education and participation in an after school program. In 2014, the Korean government enforced a law that prohibits schools'education in advance (prior learning) and regulates private educational institutes'advertisement about prior learning. Regarding this regulation, this study aimed to investigate the purposes and expenditure of private education to provide an empirical reference to determine the improvement of related policies.

The purposes of this study are to identify how university's entrance examination system is related to private education, and to explore how to improve the university of education entrance system in order to reduce private education costs. For these purposes, 116 teachers of senior students in high school in Daegu and Gyeongbuk and 107 pre-service teachers who had experienced the entrance of the university were surveyed in order to find out the perception of the relationship between admissions elements and private education. As a result, it is possible to concentrate more on school education by strengthening high school grades in the entrance examination. However, there was other opinion that the strengthening high school grades in the university entrance could lead to the further increase in the cost of private education. As there are big differences in the perception of the screening factors between rural areas (Gyeongsangbuk-do) and large cities (Daegu), it is necessary to introduce the entrance examination system considering the characteristics of each region. Third-year teachers in high schools argued that university admissions should reduce the rate of the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) and increase the rate of interviews. The results of this study suggest that the improvement of the university entrance examination system to reduce the cost of private tutoring requires securing fairness of document evaluation, strengthening interviews, and opening interview questions.
In this study we overviewed the early private learning for children in Korea. For last 20 years the number of children who were involved in it increased and the starting age had been lowered. Now more than 90% of the children are exposed to it before going to school. Mean number of private lesson per child is between three to four (33.6%). 32.7% of preschoolers take more than 5 kinds of private lesson per week. Because of the frantic enthusiasm of the parents, most preschools and kindergartens are providing extra curricula in their programs. The main problem of the learning in Korea is that it does not run by government or universities with educational purposes but by commercial companies for profit.

For these purposes, total sample of 1,256 married couples those having two children of both pre-school aged and school aged were selected, and total sample was divided into four groups by first child's school aged; those were pre-school aged(375), elementary school aged(385), middle & high school aged(248) & college aged(248). Statistics used for the analysis were frequencies, means, percentile, and tobit and OLS analysis. The results were as follows. In the 21st century, there will be a robot revolution. Only several years ago, industrial robots were the mainstream in the robot market; however, diverse type of robots are currently entering into our daily lives for various purposes, and the robot that thinks and behaves very similarly to human will appear in the near future. However, there is a critical view about the robot period. This means that the robot revolution will change even the framework of our entire society and human life style, and it is necessary to have robot education. It is necessary to start robot education in the elementary school curriculum with a view to enhancing interest in basic science and scientific technology and cultivating creative talents who may adapt themselves to a robotic society. However, there is no systematic robot curriculum owing to insufficient perception of the need of robot education and the educational utilization of robots. Under these circumstances, robot education is largely dependent on education for students with special talents and aptitudes run by private organizations. This paper conducted the following research in order to develop a robot curriculum in education for the gifted elementary students of computer science. First, the paper identified problems by analyzing the robot curriculum from a micro perspective after selecting three organizations that are relatively well perceived out of private organizations that operate robot education for the gifted elementary students of computer science. Second, the paper developed a robot curriculum in education for the gifted elementary students of computer science based on the framework of a robot curriculum run by private sector. Third, the validity of the robot curriculum developed in this paper was verified by a professional group comprising mainly persons in charge of robot curriculum development at private sector and lecturers for robot education for the gifted elementary students of computer science.
By studying the awareness level of students, for the need to protect personal information, and also by studying students' level of perception as to which information needs protection, this study aims to show that increased education is beneficial, and necessary, across all university majors. This increased education is necessary to improve information security, and increase the responsible sharing of private data which has many benefits, specifically in the Healthcare field. Utilizing student volunteers across multiple majors at a university in South Korea. These questionnaires measured the students' awareness of private information, their perception of private information and also the students' experience in receiving university level education regarding private information and the need for its protection. This study shows that, when compared to students in other fields, students in the field of public health had a higher level of awareness regarding the consequences of personal information disclosure for both public purposes and medical research. Within the parameters of this study, this outcome can be explained as the result of exposure to educational curriculum which contained information related to personal information protection. This increased education raised the student's awareness of which information is considered private, as well as, which information is valuable when responsibly shared. As a result, this study shows that an increase in education regarding information privacy, should be included in all university majors, and gives us evidence to support that this additional education is valuable to students at all levels and should be encouraged.

A number of studies have shown that students have a stereotyped image of a scientist, and this image is often a rather negative. Earlier work on images of the scientist revealed to be consistent across the various social classes and across countries. This study aimed to examine a Korean students' stereotyped images of scientist, compare it with earlier work, and also find out whether students have other ideas about scientist, apart from the stereotyped image. To these purposes, modified DAST and individual interviews were carried out with 217 students and 53 students, respectively. The results are as follows : 1. Most of the students portrayed the scientist as a neat and young man with well-featured face, which was different from earlier studies. 2. Year 3 boys described the scientist as a mu, but year 3 girls as a woman. 3. Most of the students gave positive answers which were at variance with the streotyped image. 4. An interview asking only one question was a complement to DAST. It was concluded that students have private perceptions of scientists and their work, as well as a stereotyped image.
