Objective: Recent studies have demonstrated that lin-28 homolog B (LIN28B)/miRNA let-7 (let-7) plays a role in the regulation of pubertal onset in mammals. However, the role of LIN28B/let-7 in the onset of ovine puberty remains unknown. We cloned the Duolang sheep Lin28B cDNA sequence, detected the expression change of LIN28B, let-7a and let-7g in hypothalamus, pituitary and ovary tissues at three different pubertal stages. Methods: The reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to clone the cDNA sequence of LIN28B gene from Duolang sheep and the bioinformatics methods were applied to analyze the amino acid sequence of LIN28B protein. The mRNA expression levels of the LIN28B gene at different pubertal stages were examined by real time RT-PCR. Results: LIN28B cDNA of Duolang sheep was cloned, and two transcripts were obtained. The amino acid sequence of transcript 1 shares 99.60%, 98.78%, and 94.80% identity with those of goat, wild yak and pig, respectively. Strong LIN28B mRNA expression was detected in the hypothalamus, pituitary, ovary, oviduct and uterus, while moderate expression was found in the liver, kidney, spleen and heart, weak expression was observed in the heart. No expression was found in the lungs. Quantitative real-time PCR (QPCR) and western-blot analysis revealed that the LIN28B was highly expressed in the hypothalamus and ovary at prepuberty stages, and this expression significantly decreased from the prepuberty to puberty stages (p<0.05). Markedly increased levels of mRNA expression were detected in the pituitary from prepuberty to puberty (p<0.05) and then significantly decreased from puberty to post-puberty (p<0.05). The expression levels of let-7a and let-7g showed no significant changes among different pubertal stages (p>0.05). Conclusion: These results provided a foundation for determining the functions of LIN28B/let-7 and their role in the onset of sheep puberty.
Bisphenol A (BPA) and di-2-ethyhexyl phthalate (DEHP) is the considerably hazardous materials, endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), which is accumulated to the human's fat and tissue. We studied the relationship between the concentrations of BPA and DEHP in the precocious puberty and the normal controls using GC/MSD. BPA concentrations of the precocious puberty are lower than that of normal controls. But DEHP concentrations of the precocious puberty are higher than that of normal controls. From these results, BPA is not related to the precocious puberty. Otherwise, DEHP is somewhat related to the precocious puberty and the concentrations of the precocious puberty are approximately 45% higher than that of normal controls.

Purpose: This study aimed to enhance health management and prevention strategies for precocious puberty by comparing the knowledge, motivation, and behaviors related to reducing exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) between mothers of children with precocious puberty and those of typically developing children. Methods: Participants were 66 mothers of children with precocious puberty from a hospital and 71 mothers of typically developing children from an elementary school. The research questionnaire assessed knowledge of EDCs, motivation, self-efficacy, and behaviors towards reduced exposure to EDCs, in addition to general characteristics of children with precocious puberty. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, t-tests, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation. Results: There were statistically significant differences in self-efficacy (p=.015) and behavior (p=.001) regarding reduced exposure to EDCs between the two groups. Behaviors toward reduced exposure to EDCs were positively associated with knowledge of EDCs, motivation, and self-efficacy among mothers of children with precocious puberty. Additionally, these behaviors correlated positively with knowledge of EDCs, motivation, self-efficacy, and the child's birth weight and waist circumference among mothers of typically developing children. Conclusion: The results of this study revealed that mothers of children with precocious puberty exhibited less proactive behavior in reducing exposure to EDCs compared to mothers of typical children. Therefore, it is important to foster interest in the impact of environmental factors, beyond characteristic factors, on behaviors aimed at reducing exposure to EDCs.
Purpose: In this study factors affecting quality of life in mothers who have children with precocious puberty were identified. Methods: The participants were 102 mothers of children with precocious puberty. From September 12 to September 30, 2016, data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS/WIN 22.0. Results: Regression analysis showed that the model's explanatory power was 45%(F=28.71, p<.001). Role stress (t=-4.83, p<.001), objective burden (t=-2.71, p<.001), and average monthly income (t=4.12, p<.001) were factors affecting quality of life among these mothers. The most influential factor was role stress (${\beta}=-.41$), which showed a negative correlation. Conclusion: Role stress and objective burden were major factors that decreased the quality of life in these. The findings indicate that effective strategy programs for reducing role stress and objective burden are necessary to improve the quality of life in mothers of children with precocious puberty.
Purpose: This study explored experiences of mothers caring for children with precocious puberty. Methods: Q-methodology was used for analyzing individual subjectivity. Seventy Q-statements were selected and scored by 50 participants on an 11-point scale. The collected data were analyzed using the PC QUANL program. Results: The following eight types of care experiences of mothers of children with precocious puberty were identified: Type I-1: hypersensitive and best-result oriented, Type I-2: treatment burden, Type II-1: treatment-oriented, Type II-2: self-blame, Type III-1: accepting and compliant, Type III-2: treatment confused, Type IV-1: serious and engaged, and Type IV-2: naturalism-oriented. Conclusion: These results can help develop specific education programs based on types of care experiences for the promotion of care among mothers of children with precocious puberty.
Studies were conducted in 13 Korean native heifers to determine the puberty based on plasma progesterone profiles and estrus observations. Blood samples for determination of progesterone profiles were collected from jugular vein twice a week from 8 to 24 months of age, and all heifers werce observed for estrous behaviours twice a day. Heifers attained puberty at 11.3 months of age and 188.5kg body weight as determined by progesterone profiles, whereas the first estrous behaviours were observed at 14.2 months of age and 215.4kg body weight. This result indicates that determination of plasma progesterone profiles could be utilized for monitoring the puberty in Korean native heifers, and one or more ovulations occurred before pubertal heifers showed overt estrous behaviours.
Human puberty is a complex, coordinated biological process with multiple levels of regulations. The timing of puberty varies greatly in children and is influenced by both environmental and genetic factors. The key genes of pubertal onset, $KISS1$, $GPR54$, $GNRH1$ and $GNRHR$, may be major causal factors underlying gonadotropin-releasing hormone-dependent precocious puberty (GDPP). Two gain-of-function mutations in $KISS1$ and $GPR54$ have been identified recently as genetic causes of GDPP. $GNRH1$ and $GNRHR$ are also gene candidates for GDPP; however no mutations have been identified in these genes. Presently potential genetic causes like $LIN28B$ continues to appear; many areas of research await exploration in this context. In this review, I focus primarily on the genetic causes of GDPP.
Objectives The aim of this study was to investigate the treatment of precocious puberty in current traditional Chinese medical journals. Methods To figure out diagnosis methods, treatment methods, treatment effects of oriental medicine about precious puberty, Chinese medical journals from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) which was published from 1999 to 2007 were analyzed and precocious puberty was also been searched. Results 82 articles were selected. 1. Yin and purging Fire(滋陰瀉火) from traditional Chinese Medicine was usually used. 2. The herbs were almost used such as Rehmannia glutinosa(地黃), Anemarrhena asphodeloides (知母), Phellodendron amurense(黃柏), Thesium chinense(夏枯草), Paeonia suffruticosa Andrews(牧丹皮), Alisma canaliculatum(澤瀉), Testudinis Plastrum(龜板), Paeonia japonica(白芍藥), Bupleurum falcatum(柴胡), Genianae Scabrae Radix(龍膽草). 3. The total improvement rate was 72.50 to 100% Conclusions The oriental medical treatments for precocious puberty were presumed to be effective, but more studies are still needed.

This study was conducted to provide data pertaining to precocious puberty by comparing the psycho-social behavior of girls with precocious puberty to those with normal development. This study was conducted from 1 June 2016 to 25 February 2017. The subjects were 104 female patients of A group with precocious puberty visiting H Oriental medicine clinic and S clinic in Seoul, and 104 girls in control group A and 104 girls in control group B attending elementary school in gun. The psycho-social behavioral characteristics of girls with precocious puberty and those with normal development were compared among 312 girls matched for gender and age using a t-test, ${\chi}^2test$, and ANOVA. In addition, the factors influencing precocious puberty were analyzed through multinomial logistic regression. The results revealed that the primary influence factors were frequency of meat intake (p<0.01) and eating-out (p<0.05). These were followed by watching TV (p<0.001), hours of using smart phone (p<0.01) and number of private institutes attended (p<0.05). Additionally, emotional and physical indexes were lower in the precocious puberty group than the control group, indicating that they have more pathology. Finally, girls in the precocious puberty group have lower family and friendship indexes than those in the control group, which means they have more pathology. Overall, the results indicate that extensive research on the causes and frequency of precocious puberty is necessary.
