  • Many small-sized real-time kernels do not provide memory management and device drivers, not to mention file management. In this paper, we propose a design and implementation of TCP/IP protocol stack for such small real-time kernels based on [6] where we studied issues to be considered for porting the functionalities of TCP/IP for such small real-time kernels.

  • BACnet is an international standard communication protocol especially designed for building automation and control systems. BACnet uses the Master-Slave/Token-Passing (MS/TP) protocol as one of its field-level networks. A BACnet MS/TP field controller prototype and MS/TP network monitoring system are developed in this study. This report introduces the design and implementation methodology of a BACnet MS/TP field controller hardware, firmware and protocol stack. This report also presents the implementation methodology of BACnet MS/TP network monitoring system using VTS (Visual Test Shell). The methodologies introduced in this report will facilitate the develop and implementation of the BACnet-based control systems in building automation area.

  • With the popularization of autonomous driving technology, safety has emerged as a more important criterion. However, there are no assessment protocol or methods for AES (Autonomous Emergency Steering). So, this study proposes AES assessment protocol and scenario corresponding to collision avoidance Car-to-Car scenario of Euro NCAP in order to prepare for obstacles that appear after the emergency steering of LV (Leading Vehicle) avoiding obstacles in front of. Autoware-based autonomous driving stack is developed to test and simulate scenario in CARLA. Using developed stack, it is confirmed that obstacle avoidance is successfully performed in CARLA, and the AES performance of VUT (Vehicle Under Test) is evaluated by applying the proposed assessment protocol and scenario.

  • It is impossible to replace overnight the present Internet Protocol Version 4(IPv4)-based Internet with Internet Protocol Version 6(IPv6). These two protocols are expected to coexist for a number of years during the transition period. A number of transition mechanisms are proposed by Internet Engineering Task Force(IETF) Next Generation Transition Working Group(Ngtrans WG). However, most of them provide only the mechanism to initiate sessions from hosts within the IPv6 network to those within the IPv4 network, but do not support the initiation from IPv4 hosts to IPv6 ones. In this paper, we propose the IPv4-to-IPv6 Dual Stack Transition Mechanism(4to6 DSTM) which can operate even in the case that IPv4 clients in the IPv4 network initiate connections with dual stack servers in the IPv6 network.

  • This paper has been studied a interworking signalling protocol between two hybrid networks by analyzing Satellite B-ISDN architecture, DSS2 Layer 3 Signalling protocol B-ISUP protocol, S-BISUP protocol stack and so on. Also in the paper, messages and primitives have been defined for B-ISDN's Connection Type, Ownership and each protocol in order to connect point-to-multipoint. And then this paper has designed basic call procedures for OBP Satellite B-ISDN NNI inter-working protocol, verified and implemented them.

  • Hardware implemented ring buffer systems and methods are presented for the effective management of the ring buffer in TCP/IP communication. The layer interface of the ring buffer systems transfer free buffer and used buffer size information to the TCP/IP stack upper or low layer. The pointer updation interface calculates a temporary pointer from the data size which is needed by the present pointer of the ring buffer and upper or lowyer layer. The pointer manager of the ring buffer systems is responsible for saving the present pointer of the ring buffer, updating the ring buffer pointer to the new pointer, calculating the free buffer size and used buffer size of the ring buffer, and transferring the information to the upper layer. The ring buffer systems help the TCP/IP layer and TCP/IP upper or lower layer to decide the sending or receiving data size effectively. The delay of transferring data can be lowered by the ring buffer system.

  • The Bluetooth wireless technology is the new short-range RF transmission standard for low-power, low-cost, short-range radio links between mobile devices and electric product. The technology can eliminate the confusion of cables, connectors and protocols confounding communications between devices. Mobile phones, pagers, laptops, PDAs, digital cameras and more, all now have a common structure for communicating across their product platforms. In this paper, we present the Bluetooth protocol stack and headset profiles for the communication between mobile phone and headset. And then, we construct application software which is embedded in the device that operates an application over the Bluetooth protocol stack Next we implement wireless headset using MSP430, not real time operating system.

  • This paper presents a memory efficient tree based anti-collision protocol to identify memoryless RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags that may be attached to products. The proposed deterministic scheme utilizes two bit arrays instead of stack or queue and requires only ${\Theta}(n)$ space, which is better than the earlier schemes that use at least $O(n^2)$ space, where n is the length of a tag ID in a bit. Also, the size n of each bit array is independent of the number of tags to identify. Our simulation results show that our bit array scheme consumes much less memory space than the earlier schemes utilizing queue or stack.

  • We describe the MiniWeb[7] TCP/IP stack (mIP), which is an extremely small implementation of the TCP/IP protocol suite running 8 or 32-bit micro controllers intended for embedded control systems, and satisfying the subset of RFC1122 requirements needed for hostto-host interoperability over different platforms. Our TCP/IP implementation does sacrifice some of TCP's mechanisms such as fragmentation, urgent data, retransmission, or congestion control. Our implementation is applicable to web based controllers. The network protocols are tested in operational networks using CommView and Dummynet where the various operational parameters such as bandwidth, delay, and queue sizes can be set and controlled.
