  • Recently, many industrial instruments face the problem of protocol compatibility with the external monitoring and control system. This paper implemented a protocol conversion algorithm for industrial monitoring about communication Data. This algorithm is supported programmable method by user. we experimented the protocol conversion by communication gateway module using implemented algorithm, and obtained good results.

  • Protocol conversion is to resolve the imcompatibility between networks so that users on different protocols can communicate with each other. This paper designs a formal model, EPN , to increase its modeling power and analyze conversion protocol and proposes a conversion algorithm using it. The conversion algorithm has two capabilities : synchronization and automatic error recovery function. Therefore burden of protocol converter design will be reduced, automatic protocol converter design can be possible and implementation for half-gateway will be easy.

  • In case of communication method and protocol applied to the industrial field, various kinds and methods are applied to the field according to the environment and hardware configuration specifications. In order to develop and construct an industrial monitoring system, the development of the equipment is carried out through hardware system analysis and communication protocol analysis each time, so that a lot of development costs and time are being entered. In this paper, we proposed a programmable protocol conversion algorithm to support the integrated monitoring of industrial equipment using various protocols. This method can extract the necessary data from the data transmitted by serial communication, NMEA, CAN, Modbus communication method and transmit it to Ethernet. We implemented a communication gateway module that supports various communication methods, and experimented with data conversion and transmission.

  • This paper suggests a structure of power control system in floating wave-offshore wind hybrid power generation system. We have developed an unified SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system which can be used to monitor and control PCS(Power Conversion System) based on IEC61850. The SCADA system is essential to perform the algorithm like proportional distribution and data acquisition, monitoring, active power, reactive power control in hybrid power generation system. IEC61850 is an international standard for electrical substation automation systems. It was made to compensate the limitations of the legacy industrial protocols such as Modbus. In order to test the proposed SCADA system and algorithm, we have developed the wind-wave simulator based Modbus. We have designed a protocol conversion device based on real-time Linux for the communication between Modbus and IEC61850. In this study, SCADA system consists of four 3MW class wind turbines and twenty-four 100kW class wave force generator.

  • In this paper, we propose an asynchronous IR-UWB ranging system based on the two-way ranging protocol. The periodic pulse sequence is used to measure a distance between two devices. At the receiver, a received signal is first transformed into a frequency-domain signal using an analog correlator bank and digital signal processing is followed in the frequency-domain. This make it possible for the system to use an ADC with a conversion speed of pulse rate. The proposed algorithm at the receiver side includes a peak detection procedure using mutipath channel compensation and matched filtering, and retransmits a pulse sequence synchronized with the detected peak. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified from simulation results where the CM1 channel is assumed.

  • This paper describes the proposal, design, and implementation of a novel WDMX controller which can provide versatile light effects with the increased capability of the mobility and the number of universes for LED lights. Both the algorithm for DMX protocol and how to implement the frame based on a 8bit micro-controller are explained. The conversion algorithm between the DMX frame and wireless LAN 802. 11b protocol stack is introduced and implemented. In final, some experiments are made to verily the interoperability of the developed WDMX controller with a commercial product of LED lights. 최대 9,999 staves with 30 refresh rate per second may have capability to show various light effects.

  • Recently, due to the variety and complexity of marine electronics communication devices, much research has been done to adopt the novel communication protocol. Among them, NMEA2000 protocol, is adopted as standardized protocol to the next generation ship. In this paper, we design and implement the conversion algorithm for sensor protocol based on NMEA2000, and analog data module which convert data format between NMEA2000, CAN, Ethernet, RS232. The present study was designed to implement user-based data monitoring system by supporting various communication protocols through the development and application of key technologies through NMEA2000.

Implementation of a High Efficiency Grid-Tied Multi-Level Photovoltaic Power Conditioning System Using Phase Shifted H-Bridge Modules

  • This paper proposes a high efficiency three-phase cascaded phase shifted H-bridge multi-level inverter without DC/DC converters for grid-tied multi string photovoltaic (PV) applications. The cascaded H-bridge topology is suitable for PV applications since each PV module can act as a separate DC source for each cascaded H-bridge module. The proposed phase shifted H-bridge multi-level topology offers advantages such as operation at a lower switching frequency and a lower current ripple when compared to conventional two level topologies. It is also shown that low ripple sinusoidal current waveforms are generated with a unity power factor. The control algorithm permits the independent control of each DC link voltage with a maximum power point for each string of PV modules. The use of the controller area network (CAN) communication protocol for H-bridge multi-level inverters, along with localized PWM generation and PV voltage regulation are implemented. It is also shown that the expansion and modularization capabilities of the H-bridge modules are improved since the individual inverter modules operate more independently. The proposed topology is implemented for a three phase 240kW multi-level PV power conditioning system (PCS) which has 40kW H-bridge modules. The experimental results show that the proposed topology has good performance.
