Delayed eruption disorders caused by systemic or local conditions are mostly found during childhood and can be treated with orthodontic forced eruption. When the disorder is not found nor treated during childhood, however, orthodontic eruption might become a difficult option while prosthodontic restoration can be considered as an another option. Considerations for the prosthodontic treatment plan include the extent of tooth loss, interdental mesio-distal space and interarch space, and age of the patient. In this case report, oral rehabilitation of the patient with delayed eruption disorder through zirconia partial fixed prostheses for both maxilla and mandible was performed.

In this paper, we propose the gaussian mixture model based pattern classification algorithm of forearm electromyogram. We define the motion of 1-degree of freedom as holding and unfolding hand considering a daily life for patient with prosthetic hand. For the extraction of precise features from the EMG signals, we use the difference absolute mean value(DAMV) and the mean absolute value(MAV) to consider amplitude characteristic of EMG signals. We also propose the D_DAMV and D_MAV in order to classify the amplitude characteristic of EMG signals more precisely. In this paper, we implemented a test targeting four adult male and identified the accuracy of EMG pattern classification of two motions which are holding and unfolding hand.
The treatment of craniofacial anomalies has been challenging as a result of technological shortcomings that could not provide a consistent protocol to perfectly restore patient-specific anatomy. In the past, wax-up and impression-based maneuvers were implemented to achieve this clinical end. However, with the advent of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology, a rapid and cost-effective workflow in prosthetic rehabilitation has taken the place of the outdated procedures. Because the use of implants is so profound in different facets of restorative dentistry, their placement for craniofacial prosthesis retention has also been widely popular and advantageous in a variety of clinical settings. This review aims to effectively describe the well-rounded and interdisciplinary practice of craniofacial prosthesis fabrication and retention by outlining fabrication, osseointegrated implant placement for prosthesis retention, a myriad of clinical examples in the craniofacial complex, and a glimpse of the future of bioengineering principles to restore bioactivity and physiology to the previously defected tissue.
Loss of continuity of the mandible destroys the balance and symmetry of mandibular function, leading to altered mandibular movements and deviation of the residual fragment towards the resected side. Apart from deviation, other dysfunctions include difficulty in swallowing, speech, mandibular movements, mastication, and respiration are accompanied. In general, surgical reconstruction is considered first then proceeds to the prosthetic restorations. However, patients with systemic disease such as BRONJ (Bisphosphonate related osteonecrosis of the Jaw), surgical reconstruction may be limited. Thus, the prosthetic restoration remains as the only resort. Numerous prosthetic methods are employed to minimize deviation and to improve masticatory efficiency, function and esthetics. If a removable partial denture is the selected treatment modality, maximum stability of the partial denture base may be accomplished with a functional impression procedure by means of eliminating lateral and horizontal forces caused by the functional movements of the lips, cheeks and tongue. Also, Twin occlusion is used to obtain a favorable occlusal relationship and check support for esthetics. The purpose of this case report is to demonstrate how neutral zone impression technique and twin occlusion scheme were applied to restore a hemi-mandiblectomy patient with BRONJ syndrome to achieve satisfactory results in functional and esthetic aspects.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare the color stability of provisional restorative materials fabricated by subtractive and additive manufacturing. Materials and Methods: PMMA specimens by subtractive manufacturing and conventional method and bis-acryl specimens by additive manufacturing were fabricated each 20. After immersing specimens in the coffee solution and the wine solution, the color was measured as CIE Lab with a colorimeter weekly for 4 weeks. Color change was calculated and data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA and the Tukey multiple comparisons test (α = 0.05). Results: PMMA provisional prosthetic materials by subtractive manufacturing showed superior color stability compared to bis-acryl provisional prosthetic materials by additive manufacturing (P < 0.05), and showed similar color stability to the PMMA provisional prosthetic materials by conventional method (P > 0.05). Conclusion: It is recommended to fabricate provisional restorations by subtractive manufacturing in areas where esthetics is important, such as anterior teeth, and consideration of the color stability will be required when making provisional prosthetic using additive manufacturing.
For fixed prosthetic treatment using implants, implants must be placed in a suitable location for prosthetic treatment. During surgery, minimally invasive prosthetic restoration is possible using a flapless method using a surgical guide. The patient in this case was an 86-year-old male patient who wanted treatment due to discomfort when using conventional dentures. Due to systemic disease, the patient had difficulty using removable local dentures, so full dentures for the maxilla and fixed implants for the mandible were restored. Because there is a high risk of bleeding due to systemic disease, the implant was placed in a flapless method using a surgical guide. Finally, prostheses were fabricated with maxillary full denture and mandibular screw-retained zirconia, and this report shows satisfactory esthetic and functional recovery.

Invasive or non-invasive reduction of fractures could be conducted as treatments of traumatic maxillofacial bone fractures. But when suboptimal reduction or malunion of maxillofacial bone fracture occurs, malocclusion could occur as a result of the lost relationship of the mandible and midface. This malocclusion is called post-traumatic malocclusion and orthognathic surgery, orthodontic treatment, selective grinding and prosthetic reconstruction are suggested as treatments for post-traumatic malocclusion after securement of stable TMJ. Stable TMJ is essential for occlusal rehabilitation to prevent occlusal change and relapse of malocclusion. Centric relation and adapted centric posture are suggested as start points of occlusal rehabilitation because they are most stable TMJ position. This case report presents a case in which post-traumatic malocclusion occurred after reduction of panfacial fracture. To rehabilitate full mouth occlusion, selective grinding and prosthetic reconstruction of implant supported fixed prostheses were conducted in centric relation and showed satisfying results in functional and occlusal aspects.
Large oro-facial defects result from cancer treatment consequences in serious functional as well as cosmetic deformities. Acceptable cosmetic results usually can be obtained with a facial prosthesis. However, retention of a large facial prosthesis can be challenging because of its size and weight. This article describes prosthetic rehabilitation of a 57-year-old man having a right lateral mid-facial defect with intraoral-extraoral combination prosthesis. A modified technique to fabricate a hollow substructure in heat-polymerizing polymethyl-methacrylate to support silicone facial prosthesis was illustrated. The resultant facial prosthesis was structurally durable and light in weight facilitating the retention with magnets satisfactorily. This technique is advantageous as there is no need to fabricate the whole prosthesis again in case of damage of the silicone layer because the outer silicone layer can be removed and re-packed on the substructure if the gypsum-mold is preserved.
Oligodontia is defined as a congenital tooth agenesis with the absence of six or more permanent teeth. This clinical report describes a patient with non-syndromic partial oligodontia, with retained deciduous teeth and the absence of 16 permanent teeth. Anterior esthetic problems were caused by interarch tooth size discrepancy, interdental space, aberrant tooth dimensions, and the absence of centric contacts of the anterior teeth. Prosthetic restoration after orthodontic and implant treatment was performed with a multi-disciplinary team approach. Favorable functional and esthetic results were obtained using a definitive prosthesis.

Implant fracture is rare, but one of the most serious problem in implantation. Treatment of implant fracture can be different according to the extent of the fracture and on the state of the surrounding prosthetic restoration. Maintaining or submerging implant after treatment of peri-implantitis can be useful options for cases of tear-like fracture on the coronal area of an implant.
