  • This study proposes a new simulation method of high speed rotor system with the dynamic model using multi body dynamic analysis tool and with a new phase modulating technique as a system control algorithm. A dynamic model of high speed rotor system was built by, ADAMS, commercial multi body dynamic program. The phase modulating technique is a new control algorithm for a rotor system. This algorithm can control system using an adaptive proportional gain and an adaptive phase which are obtained from periodical input signal. To make control system, a ADAMS model and component parameters and phase controller was composed by Matlab Simulink And simulate it.

  • In this study, the nondominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II) is used to obtain the optimized proportional-integral-derivative (PID) gain value that can quickly recover the motion of a quadcopter after a disturbance. Prior to PID control, the four-rotor quadcopter interval was defined using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Through the definition of this model, the PID control algorithm was generated. To construct a response surface model, D-optimal programming was used for the generation of experimental points. For this purpose, a gain value that satisfies both the roll and altitude PID gain values is obtained. Using the NSGA-II, the gain value of shorten time of the quadcopter motion control can be optimized.

  • In this paper, the authors suggest a new control algorithm for a three-phase four-wire photovoltaic (PV) inverter with imbalance load compensation function using conventional proportional-integral (PI) controllers. The maximum power of PV panel is calculated by the MPPT control loop. The reference varying signals of current controllers are transformed to two different rotating frames where they become constant signals. Then simple PI controllers are applied to achieve zero steady-state error of the controllers. The proposed control algorithm are modeled and simulated with imbalance load configuration to verify its performance. The simulation results show that the maximum PV power is transferred to the grid and the imbalance power is compensated successfully by the proposed control algorithm. The inverter has a fast response (~4 cycles) during the transient period. The proposed control algorithm can be effectively utilized to the three-phase four-wire inverter with imbalance load compensation function.

  • A nonlinear control algorithm for the depth control of underwater vehicles is presented. In order to consider the deadzone effect of the flow control valve, a nonlinear fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is synthesized and combined with a linear proportional-derivative-acceleration (PDA) controller, which is called, the PDA/FLC controller. And, to show the effectiveness of the PDA/FLC control system, it is compared with the linear PDA control system through computer simulation. It is found that the PDA/FLC control scheme is a suitable one to maintain the desirable depth of underwater vehicles with deadzone.

  • The Proportional-Integral-Derivative control scheme is widely used in industries. This paper investigates an alternative control paradigm for controlling lightweight Cartesian robot arms. Fuzzy PI control is used and validated experimentally by comparing performance with a conventional PID control algorithm. The results show the effectiveness of the fuzzy PI control. The fuzzy control shows superior performance in transient response over the conventional one.

  • Recently, a technology based on the proportional integral (PI) control have grown rapidly owing to the needs for the robust capacity of the controllers from industrial building sectors. However, PI controller generally requires tuning of gains for optimal control when the outside weather condition changes. The present study presents the possibility of reinforcement learning (RL) control algorithm with PI controller adapted in the HVAC system. The optimal design criteria of RL controller was proposed in the environment chamber experiment and a theoretical analysis was also conducted using TRNSYS program.

  • A new speed controller based on the fuzzy algorithm with hierarchical structure is presented. The input variables of the controller are speed error and its derivative(change of error), where the output variable is the change of torque current command. Several comparisons were performed with conventional PI (proportional plus integral) controller and proposed controller. These controllers are applied to the laboratory model drive system with 2.2kW induction motor. Some simulation and experimental results show that the speed controller using fuzzy algorithm is more robust than the conventional PI controller.

On the Fairness of the Multiuser Eigenmode Transmission System

  • The Multiuser Eigenmode Transmission (MET) has generated significant interests in literature due to its optimal performance in linear precoding systems. The MET can simultaneously transmit several spatial multiplexing eigenmodes to multiple users which significantly enhance the system performance. The maximum number of users that can be served simultaneously is limited due to the constraints on the number antennas, and thus an appropriate user selection is critical to the MET system. Various algorithms have been developed in previous works such as the enumerative search algorithm. However, the high complexities of these algorithms impede their applications in practice. In this paper, motivated by the necessity of an efficient and effective user selection algorithm, a low complexity recursive user selection algorithm is proposed for the MET system. In addition, the fairness of the MET system is improved by using the combination of the proposed user selection algorithm and the adaptive Proportional Fair Scheduling (PFS) algorithm. Extensive simulations are implemented to verify the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Robust and Unity Input Power Factor Control Scheme for Electric Vehicle Battery Charger (전기차 배터리 충전기용 강인한 단위 입력 역률 제어장치)

  • This study develops a digital control scheme with power factor correction for a front-end converter in an electric vehicle battery charger. The front-end converter acts as the boost-type switching-mode rectifier. The converter assumes the two roles of the battery charger, which include power factor control and robust charging performance. The proposed control scheme consists of a charging control algorithm and a grid current control algorithm. The scheme aims to obtain unity input power factor and robust performance. Based on the linear average model of the converter, a constant-current constant-voltage charging control algorithm that passes through only one proportional-integral controller and a current feed-forward path is proposed. In the current control algorithm, we utilized a second band pass filter, a single-phase phase-locked loop technique, and a duty-ratio feed-forward term to control the grid current to be in phase with the grid voltage and achieve pure sinusoidal waveform. Simulations and experiments were conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme, both simulations and experiments.

  • Active queue management (AQM) is a leading congestion control system, which can keep smaller queuing delay, less packet loss with better network utilization and throughput by intentionally dropping the packets at the intermediate hubs in TCP/IP (transmission control protocol/Internet protocol) networks. To accelerate the responsiveness of AQM framework, proportional-integral-differential (PID) controllers are utilized. In spite of its simplicity, it can effectively take care of a range of complex problems; however it is a lot complicated to track down optimal PID parameters with conventional procedures. A few new strategies have been grown as of late to adjust the PID controller parameters. Therefore, in this paper, we have developed a Squirrel search based PID controller to dynamically find its controller gain parameters for AQM. The controller gain parameters are decided based on minimizing the integrated-absolute error (IAE) in order to ensure less packet loss, high link utilization and a stable queue length in favor of TCP networks.
