Autonomic dysreflexia is a clinical emergency syndrome of uncontrolled sympathetic output that can occur in patients who have a history of spinal cord injury. Despite its frequency in spinal cord injury patients, central nervous system complications are very rare. We report a man with traumatic high level incomplete spinal cord injury who suffered hypertensive right thalamic hemorrhage secondary to an episode of autonomic dysreflexia. Prompt recognition and removal of the triggering factor, the suprapubic catheter obstruction which led to hypertensive attack, the patient had a favorable functional outcome after the resorption of the hematoma and effective rehabilitation programme.

The Sundt encircling clip was developed to repair defects of the vessel wall. With the advent of microvascular techniques, most parts of the damaged vessel wall during aneurysm surgery can be repaired by primary closure or by the bypass technique. However, these methods are not always successful. Here, we illustrate two cases of surgical clipping with the Sundt encircling clip in the ruptured internal carotid artery trunk aneurysm. The Sundt clip provides prompt control of unexpected tearing of the vessel wall or aneurysm and plays an important role in vascular rescue during aneurysm surgery.

Nowadays as smartphones are becoming increasingly popular, smartphone applications are making people's life much more convenient than before. In the past, various forms of technology were developed to help visually impaired people. So the idea of how the prevalent smartphone applications could help the visually impaired to make their life better came into our mind. In this paper, we describe an application aiming at meeting the visually impaired people's basic needs in their daily life. Our application includes three basic functions, a new way of calling, date and time prompt, and emergency use.

Splenic abscess is an uncommon lesion and may be present either as a localized area of infection in the spleen or as a part of generalized sepsis. The diagnosis is difficult because of the rather nonspecific clinical picture. Hence, splenic abscess has a high mortality rate and is after diagnosed only at autopsy. Computerized tomography(CT) offers the clinician a reliable tool for the diagnosis of intra-abdominal abscess. A successful outcome is dependent on an early diagnosis and prompt treatment by splenectomy with antibiotic cover. We experienced a care of splenic abscess which was diagnosed by CT and treated by splenectomy with antibiotics. Postoperative course was relatively uneventful.

Actual states of energy utilizations were investigated and analyzed on three representative rural villages in Chungcheongnam-Do. Rural residents were almost using the ondol boiler as a heating facility and oil(diesel, kerosene) and electricity(night thermal-storage power service) as a heating energy. There were a few households using briquette or firewood in a fuel hole with Korean hypocaust. Most of their cooking facilities were gas ranges using LPG. The most popular hot-water supply system was an oil boiler and the next was an electricity boiler. The amount of energy use in a rural household generally showed 20,000 to 40,000 won/month of the electric power rate, 400 to 800 liter/year of the oil and 60 to 120 kg/year of the LPG. Prompt measures should be taken to promote the spread of new and renewable energy such as solar heat, biomass and wind power, etc.

Various technologies for the reduction of atmospheric pollution have been developed. One of which is to inject fine-water droplets directly on the flame. This way decreases the formation of thermal NOx due to the temperature drop during evaporation of droplets. There is another effect of reducing prompt NOx, which is resulted from delay of response time and the flow of droplets. In this experiment, it has been investigated the effects of changes of water droplets size and flow rate on temperature and formations of NOx at the counterflow diffusion flame.

Cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), known as a versatile regulator of cellular processes and as a secondary messenger of various hormones and other biogenic agents, such as prostaglandins and histamine, induced prompt and transient antidiuresis followed by mild natriuresis and diuresis, when it was administered into the lateral ventricle of the rabbit in doses ranging from $100\;{\mu}g$ to 1 mg. The initial antidiuresis was brought about by the systemic hypotension, whereas the secondary diuresis seemed to be resulted from the decreased tubular reabsorption of sodium, suggestive of participation of certain endogenous natriuretic agent. This observation suggests that cAMP might be involved in the center-mediated renal action of prostaglandins.

To minimize the financial loss due to power facility malfunction, on-line diagnostic techniques are required to grasp any abnormal state of facilities in the live line as well as devices to diagnose abnormal states of power facility in an easy and prompt manner. This study aims to develop a portable UV detecting system by means of UV sensors for easier and efficient inspection of the degradation state of power facility in a long distance. Accordingly, it includes a simulation of corona discharges that may occur due to degradation of power facility and detection of ultraviolet pulse generation depending on the corona discharge intensity and measuring distance in application of UV sensors. Additionally, the optimal algorithm is determined for its application to the system's degradation diagnosis program based on the measured experiment data.

Numerical simulations of freely propagating premixed flames burning mixtures of methane and chlorinated hydrocarbons in fuel are performed at atmospheric pressure in order to understand the effect of chlorinated hydrocarbons on the formation of nitrogen oxide. A detailed chemical reaction mechanism is used, the adopted scheme involving 89 gas-phase species and 1017 elementary forward reaction steps. Chlorine atoms available from chlorinated hydrocarbons inhibit the formation of nitrogen oxides by lowering the concentration of radical species. The reduction of NO emission index calculated with thermal or prompt NO mechanism is not linear and is probably related to the saturation effect as $CH_3Cl$ addition is increased, In the formation or consumption of nitrogen oxide, the $NO_2$ and NOCl reactions play an important role in lean flames while the HNO reactions do in rich flames. The molar ratio of Cl to H in fuel has an effect on the magnitude of NO emission index.

The telemedicine & distance education system that this paper suggests has been designed on the CTE(Collaborative Telemedicine & distance Education) framework, which is an integrated multimedia environment. This is a CBM-based collaborative telemedicine & distance education type, different from the conventional doctor based general practice, and is an integrated multimedia telemedicine & distance education system capable of many application developments using information super highway. This paper presents the content regarding electronic medical examination chart and data treatment for efficient medical examination and prompt treatment by realizing mutual conversation type remote medical examination system among 3 parties(patient, doctor, pharmacist) on internet base. And, The implementation of this new teaming system should be designed with multimedia application development platform base which is interfaced with computer engineering, computer network technology, CSCW (Computer-Supported Cooperative Work) technology, and education engineering.
