중간상 웹사이트의 초기 품질 및 서비스 가격 결정을 위한 경제 모형 (An Economic Model for Initial Qualities and Service Prices of Intermediarie's Web Sites)

  • In this paper, a mathematical model was introduced to analyze pricing and quality strategies for the web sites of electronic intermediaries. Especially, I focused on the intermediary sites that initiate their businesses by providing free services such as free e-mail, search, and directory services. intermediaries may gather third party providers looking for new markets for their services, based on customers who want to use the free services. And intermediaries provide charged intermediary services to both of customers and providers. By analyzing the mathematical model, I can find optimal quality and prices to maximize the profit of intermediaries. And I can found also that intermediaries should make efforts to improve their productivity of developing their services to make profits.

  • In this paper, we introduce a mathematical model to analyze pricing/quality and service mix strategies for Internet Portal site. This model includes utilities and costs of each participants, i.e., user, third party provider, and portal sites. Especially, we consider portal sites that initiate their businesses by providing free services like free e-mail service or search service and providing several charged services. As the results, we can find that Portal sites should make the target of customers and focus them to maximize their profit. Portal sites should pay their marketing effort not for all customers but pertinent portions of customers. And Portal sites should make more efforts to efficiently develop and provision their services.

벤처.중소기업의 외국인지분이 배당수익률에 미치는 영향에 대한 연구 (The Effect of Foreign Investment on Dividend Yield Ratio of KOSDAQ Firms)

  • 외국인 투자의 증가가 국내기업의 배당에 미치는 영향에 대하여 선행연구에서 상이한 결과들을 제시하고 있는데 이는 실증분석의 방법에서 배당을 측정하는 변수로 상이한 변수들이 사용되었으며, 분석 방법론 측면에서 외국인투자와 배당수준 간의 인과관계의 방향을 통제하지 않았다는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 기존문헌들이 가지는 한계점을 최대한 보완하여 코스닥시장 신규상장기업을 대상으로 하여 외국인 투자와 배당수준간의 인과관계의 방향성 문제를 극복하고 배당수익률을 종속변수로 하여 분석함으로써 앞에서 제기한 우려에 대한 답을 제시하고자 하였다. 먼저 전체표본을 사용하는 경우, 배당수익률은 외국인투자와 유의한 관계를 보이지 않았으며 이와 같은 결과는 기존 문헌의 연구결과와 유사한 것이다. 그리고 외국인투자가 발생하기 이전에 배당금을 지급했던 표본기업을 대상으로 한 패널분석에서도 외국인 투자가 배당수익률에 유의하게 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 외국인 투자자들이 배당을 지급하는 기업에 대한 선호현상으로 인하여 외국인투자는 배당수준에 영향을 미치지 않았음을 보여주는 결과이다. 그러나 외국인 투자가 발생하기 이전에 배당을 지급했던 기업을 제외한 표본에 대한 패널분석결과에 의하면 외국인투자는 배당수준 변수 즉 배당수익률이 유의하게 정의 관계에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 배당을 지급하는 기업에 대한 외국인 투자자의 선호현상을 통제하는 경우, 외국인 투자자들이 국내 코스닥기업에 배당수준에 대하여 유의한 영향을 미친다는 결과를 보여주는 것이다. 특히 기존의 연구에서 유의하게 나타나지 않았던 배당수익률이 외국인의 배당지급 기업에 대한 선호현상을 통제하였을 때 유의하게 나타난 본 연구의 결과는 상당히 의미가 있는 것으로 볼 수 있다. 이는 외국인지분이 증가 할수록 전체이익 중 배당액이 차지하는 비중이 증가하고 시기총액대비 현금배당이 증가함을 의미함으로 외국인투자자가 단기적 이익에 집착하여 고배당을 유도한다는 주장이 성립하는 것으로 볼 수 있다.

병원의 재무구조에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting the Financial Structure of Hospitals in Korea)

  • This study focuses on the factors that make the financial structure of hospitals in Korea different, and on recommended courses of action that could be very helpful to hospitals in maintaining a sound financial structure. Data used in this study were collected from 132 hospitals with complete general data of present conditions as well as financial statements. They were chosen from the 174 hospitals that passed the standardization audit undertaken by the Korean Hospital Association from 1996 to 2000 for the purpose of accrediting training hospitals. The dependent variable in this study is financial structure. It consists of liabilities as against total assets (total liabilities to total assets, short-term liabilities to total assets, long-term liabilities to total assets, short-term borrowings to total assets, long-term borrowings to total assets). The independent variables are ownership type, hospital type, location, whether or not a representative is a director of the hospital, the possibility of changing a hospital director, bed size, period of establishment, asset structure, profitability, growth, tax shields, business risk, competition. The factors that appear to have the strongest impact on the liabilities to total assets of all the hospitals sampled are ownership type, hospital type, profitability, tax shields, and business risk. It was found that not-for-profit private hospitals and for-profit private hospitals have more liabilities than public hospitals, and tertiary medical institutions have less liabilities than the secondary general hospitals. Moreover, hospitals earning more at the expense of high business risk have a distinct tendency to lower liabilities. Concerning the current ratio, it was found that factors such as ownership type, hospital type, period of establishment, asset structure, and business risk are the more significant variables. The current ratio of public hospitals is higher than that of both not-for-profit private hospitals and for-profit private hospitals, and the current ratio of tertiary medical institutions is higher than that of general hospitals. As business risk is higher in hospitals compared to other businesses, the current ratio becomes higher; this is because it is assumed that for fear of bankruptcy, hospitals lessen liabilities to total assets. On the other hand, as hospitals become older, the fixed assets to total assets become lower. It is remarkable that in hospitals, the factors affecting liabilities to total assets have an opposite regression coefficient sign against factors affecting current ratio. It brings out the same results borne out by the old financial theories and researches, in which a lot of the liabilities of hospitals are considered as the cause of worsening liquidity. Therefore, it is very important for hospitals to maintain a sound financial structure in order to survive using the rational acquisition and maintenance of capital.

한국 제조업에서 혁신활동과 재무적 성과 간의 인과경로: 혁신성과 및 운영성과의 매개효과를 중심으로 (Causal Links from Innovative Activities to Financial Performance in Korean Manufacturing Firms: Mediating Effects of Innovative and Operational Performance)

  • 기술혁신을 포함한 기업의 혁신이 기업과 산업의 성장 및 경쟁우위에 기여한다는 연구는 많으나, 주로 연구개발 집약도 또는 특허로 측정되는 기술적 혁신의 성과 검증에 집중되어왔다. 또한 혁신의 단계 또는 프로세스에 관한 기존 모형들은 대부분 기술 혁신을 대상으로 아이디어 창출-기술개발-혁신성과 도출의 과정을 설명하고 있지만, 이러한 모형들은 지식의 창출과정을 설명하는 모형이거나 기술적인 혁신에 국한된 지식의 변환구조에 초점이 맞추어져있다. 본 연구는 기존의 혁신 모형을 확장하여 혁신 활동부터 기업의 운영성과와 재무적 성과까지를 포괄하는 모형을 설정하고, 이들 간의 경로들이 실제로 존재하는지를 규명하는 인과적인 경로분석을 수행하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 혁신활동이 늘어나면 신제품 출시, 공정혁신, 특허출원과 같은 혁신의 성과가 늘어나고, 혁신성과는 기업의 운영성과를 높이며, 운영성과는 매출성장률을 향상시키는 경로가 검증되었다. 둘째, 종속변수가 혁신성과, 기업운영성과, 재무적 성과의 방향으로 혁신의 직접적인 성과로부터 거리가 멀어질수록 혁신활동의 영향력이 점차 감소함을 확인하였다. 셋째, 혁신성과가 매출성장률에 미치는 효과는 소기업이 중기업보다 높으며, 중기업의 경우 혁신성과는 매출성장률에 긍정적인 영향이 있을 뿐만 아니라 영업이익률에 미치는 효과가 존재함을 검증하였다. 그러나 대기업의 경우 혁신성과가 재무적 성과에 미치는 직접 및 간접 효과는 확인되지 않았다. 넷째, 혁신의 전유성은 혁신성과, 특허출원건수, 기업운영성과에 모두 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있음을 실증하였다.

프랜차이즈 가맹점의 노동조건 개선 및 상생지원 방안 (A Study on the Improvement of Working Conditions and Win-Win Support for Franchisees)

  • Purpose: The Korean franchise market has undergone drastic growth in recent years. Followed by expansion of franchise business types, relevant legal matters have diversified. Compared to conventional economic laws that focused on resolving problems related to unfair transactions between franchisors and franchisees, more diverse labor laws have emerged recently due to governance and economic dependencies of franchise structure. However, it was found that the business environment of franchisees and working conditions of franchisee employees have not changed accordingly due to the unique structure of franchise business. Though franchisees are entrepreneurs independent from franchisors, they are still under franchising contract with the franchisors. For instance, employees of franchisees have been exposed to malpractices in regard to pay, time, and other working conditions. These malpractices may show the ineffectiveness of current labor laws. Labor management is an important issue for sustainability of franchise businesses. Negative publicity of franchises generated from violating relevant labor laws may have significant negative impact on overall image of franchised brands. However, franchisors should not hold franchisees fully responsible for legal violations in terms of labor management but strive to prevent relevant risks. Thus, the recent amendment in labor law related to increased minimum wage and reduced worktime have called for more attention to effectively implementing the law. Research design, data, and methodology: This study was conducted through a review of franchise-related laws and various institutions and policies. Results: It is further needed for all parties, including franchisors, franchisees, and franchisee employees, to take collaborative actions to improve working conditions of franchisees. Therefore, this study aims to propose appropriate and effective response plans toward recent changes in the Minimum Wage Act, while strengthening sustainability of franchisors, franchisees, and their employees. Conclusions: The proposal mainly contains plans regarding profit-related aids and profit sharing/cost reduction strategies for franchisees, as well as collective bargaining in the franchisor-franchisee relation. More detailed suggestions are included. Conclusions: This proposal may help franchisors and policymakers develop business plans and policies in improving business conditions of franchisees and working conditions of franchisee employees.

농촌마을종합개발사업에 있어 주민참여 실태와 성과에 관한 연구 - 전남농촌마을을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Actual Situation and Performance of Residents Participation in the Comprehensive Development Project of Rural Villages - Focused on the Jeonnam Rural Village -)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual situation of residents' participation in rural development projects, to identify their performance and problems, and suggest ways to develop desirable villages in rural areas. From reviewing relevant pre-studies, this study was done by interview, questionnaire, and observation targeting 140 leaders and residents of exampled village of the project in Jeollanam-do, as well as by listening opinions of relative experts. This study is largely classified into 4 parts, review of character and appearing background of village development project, review of theoretical discussion about residents' participation, evaluation of accomplishments and analysis of participation, and establishing a model for habitants-participating village development project and how to improve it. As a result of questionnaire, it was found urgent for habitants to convert their thinking about village development and their participation in it, to realize a model of this project, as well as political stimulus to promote that. Therefore, measures must be required to improve current village development projects and to promote them. First of all, a preparation period is required to sufficiently provide the village where habitants are willing to participate in, from the state of place selection. Besides, it is required to run away from profit-making businesses aiming at foreign people, to improvement of residents' welfare in a long term, and enhanced resources management in a broad view. Waste of working expenses seems to be solved through direct operation by a corporation in charge of profit-making businesses, under superstition of residents' community. Finally conclusion, expansion and practicalization of education to residents are essential, to promote their participation in rural development projects. Especially it must be practical education for habitants such as 'community-ship' or 'technology education in each interesting part,' rather than tour of other villages and unilateral lectures from experts. Along with this, a long term plan and systematic participation is more essential. Since planning itself can be mutual learning to enhance residents' capacity, a chance must be established to discuss and plan each part including resources-research, by making them participate in.

군사시설 이전부지 공원화 사례분석을 통한 시사점 도출 (Implications of a Case Analysis of a Public Park Project at a Former Military Facility Site)

  • 군사시설 이전부지는 근본적으로 공공 시설적 성격을 띄고 있어 공공 복리를 위한 활용 요구도가 높아지고 있으며, 이로 인해 공원으로 조성하는 사례가 증가하고 있다. 군사시설 이전부지에 대한 공원조성 사례를 분석한 결과 몇가지의 시사점을 도출하게 되었다. 공원조성의 목표는 도시재생의 개념 및 지역활성화 차원에서 접근할 필요가 있다. 이전부지를 전면 개조하는 방식보다는 기존 시설들을 최대한 재활용하여 경제적 이득을 취하고 동시에 지역정체성과 역사성을 재현할 필요가 있다. 공원의 규모가 대형화 되고 있어 단일시설 및 프로그램 보다는 복합공간으로 조성해 줄 필요가 있으며, 공원조성에 막대한 비용이 소요되므로 단계적으로 공원을 조성하는 방안을 고려할 필요가 있다. 군사시설이 지니고 있는 특수한 상황으로 공원조성 과정에서 현장조사가 미흡하여 설계변경 또는 오염처리에 막대한 비용이 소요되므로 사전에 이를 고려할 필요가 있다. 또한, 민간사업자에게 일부 부지에 대해 개발권을 위임하고 개발이익으로 공원조성과 운영관리비를 충당하는 방안도 검토가 필요하다. 군사시설 이전기지는 다양한 이해관계에 놓여 있으므로 사업추진과정에서 민관협치의 의사결정기구를 운영하는 방안을 고려할 필요가 있다. 다양한 재원조달과 수익사업 확대, 봉사 및 후원 활성화, 트러스트 및 비영리 단체의 공원운영 관리 참여 확대 등을 위해서는 도시공원 관련제도의 보완이 요구된다.

  • 본 연구는 스포츠단체의 프로퍼티(property)를 갖고 사업을 하는 스포츠마케팅 전문 회사를 대상으로 이들의 사업 전략 분석을 통해 한국의 스포츠마케팅 에이전시의 비즈니스 성격과 비즈니스 모델의 특징을 규명하고 이러한 특성이 우리나라 스포츠마케팅 에이전시 산업 발전에 어떤 시사점을 주는지 고찰하였다. 스포츠마케팅 에이전시의 비즈니스는 단순히 프로퍼티 권리의 획득이나 대행만이 아니라 권리의 대행을 통해 사업의 기회를 늘리고 파생 상품을 개발하여 이윤을 극대화시키는 능력이 스포츠비즈니스의 핵심 역량임을 나타내고 있다. 한국에서의 스포츠마케팅 사업은 BTL위주의 프로모션 사업을 하는 광고회사와 스포츠콘텐츠 위주로 사업을 하는 스포츠마케팅 에이전시의 이원화된 구조를 보이고 있어 이는 한국 스포츠마케팅 에이전시가 기회와 파생의 극대화 역량을 키우는데 논의해야 할 과제로 남고 있다.

프랜차이즈 레스토랑 점장의 직무만족에 관한 연구 (A study on the manager장s jon satifaction in franchise restaurant.)

  • This study aims to examine theoretical frame work of franchise restaurant, the characteristics of store manager's job and the level of their job satisfaction through an empirical investigation. Job satisfaction survey study shows that store managers consider important all work to be attended to as part of their duty with service management on top. It is also found that the majority of store managers consider their aptitude as most important job satisfaction factor and those, who are satisfied with their job content, advancement and the prospect, are more proactive in delivering qualify service and more than willing to commit themselves to their duties. Regrading demographical variables, store managers with scholarly competence and higher pay level are more likely to be satisfied with their job but married men are not satisfied with the work environment in general. Ergo, Businesses should correspond by capitalizing on those store managers content with their duty thus collecting additional information and providing opportunities to further contribute to the business. For those dissatisfied individuals, however, businesses should determine their demands and by educational training supply a motive therefore making possible the conversion of such individuals to satisfied store managers and their active participation in business management. But, as with any study, this one has a number of limitation which constraints the generalizability of the empirical findings. It has not been for long since franchise restaurants established in domestic market and has been few studies regarding this topic there. Furthermore, managers are not willing to release operation related data. Therefore, further study are urged to overcome this limitation and should examine other dimensions of job satisfaction such as relations between revenue and profit with the level of store manager's job satisfaction remain to be investigated.
