깊이 영상을 이용한 3D 프린팅 기반 환자 맞춤형 안와 임플란트의 설계 및 제작 (3D Printing Based Patient-specific Orbital Implant Design and Production by Using A Depth Image)

  • In this paper, we present a novel algorithm to generate a 3D model of patient-specific orbital implant, which is finally produced by the 3D printer. Given CT (computed tomography) scan data of the defective orbital wall or floor, we compose the depth image of the defect site by using the depth buffering, which is a computer graphics technology. From the depth image, we compute the 3D surface which fills the broken part by interpolating the points around the broken part. By thickening the 3D surface, we get the 3D volume mesh of the orbital implant. Our algorithm generates the patient-specific orbital implant whose shape is accurately coincident to the broken part of the orbit. It provides the significant time efficiency for manufacturing the implant with supporting high user convenience.

  • Inner part is used as an insulator in wire fuses. After injection molding, inner part has been showed flashes, filling defects and deformation. After production, operators have to cut off flashes, one by one. this process leads to continuous low productivity and loss of source materials. This study focuses on identifying the causes for flashes, filling defects, clamping force of injectors, mold adhesion, resin of liquidity and others, and on resolving those issues.

사출성형에서 밀핀 흔적의 형성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Formation of Ejector-Pin Hollowness in Injection Molding)

  • This paper presents formation of ejector-pin hollowness in injection molding. Injection molding process is widely used in production of plastic part for good dimensional accuracy and high productivity. However, the injection molding leaves ejector-pin hollowness on pal, which causes bad part surface and quality. Dimensions and profiles of ejector-pin hollowness are measured for formation or ejector-pin hollowness. The formation of ejector-pin hollowness is traced with dimensions and profiles of ejector-pin hollowness. The compression force and moment cause ejector-pin to form hollowness on part surface.

Conservative neural symmetry of the caprine mandible

  • Fifteen dry dentate and complete mandible samples from the White Rasquera goat breed were studied for symmetry. Thirty-one landmarks were digitally located on the images of the lateral and medial aspects of each hemimandible. Distances between these landmarks allowed the evaluation of the whole hemimandible and also the neural mandible. In the studied samples, the mandible was rather symmetrical, especially in the medial neural part, and in general, there was no side dominance. Only the diastema differed significantly between the sides, and this was related to the rostral part (incisive arch). The incisive region was the least symmetrical region of the caprine mandible, indicating a modular structure more conservative for the neural part. If unsigned asymmetry is interpreted as a measure of developmental stability, then the studied breed presented a marked ability to develop in good fitness despite the harsh environment. The measurements presented here can also be used as a reference for researchers designing experimental studies, especially on mandibular catch-up growth, and as an aid for zooarchaeologists comparing results from dead animals with those from living goat populations.

  • The structures of airplane consist of sheet metal part, heavy machined part, and so on, which generate enormous amounts of cutting chip when these parts are machined. The cutting chip detoriorates the part quality and production efficiency. Therefore, cutting chip collecting apparatus is necessary for better quality and efficiency. In this study, blowing type cutting chip collecting apparatus was newly proposed and the concept design of the apparatus was examined through numerical analysis. Computations using the mass-averaged implicit 2D Navier-Stokes equations are applied to predict the nozzle flow field. The standard k-e turbulent model are employed to close the governing equations. Consequently, this study shows that the suggested blowing type cutting chip collecting apparatus can be alternative to existing expensive chip collecting apparatus.

  • Automatic measurement system is required since cycle time and cost of production are increased by various factors in manual systems. This paper presents a machine vision based prototype measurement system for the automotive axisymmetric shape parts which are generally measured by a manual system that is required the tolerance of the part is very small on each machined surface. This measurement system adopts a method in which optical lens is transferred along the profile of the part to minimize measurement cycle time. The main interest of this paper is a development of an optimum measurement algorithm to the outside diameter of the parts that can be applied to various combinations of hardware. The operating system used to implement the whole system is Window XP and corresponding environment.

  • Since many small and medium sized enterprises in Korea have lack of funds to install a commercial computer packages for work standards and work scheduling. This study has been attempted to develop the computer-generated package to ease those problems. The system consisted of three major parts. The first part is a work measurement program applying W.F.(work factor) predetermined time standards for work standards. The second part is a work scheduling program which calculates each operator's machine and job allocation. The last part is a control program for the production outputs and the machine utilization monitoring. The system is programmed by dBASE III for the IBM-PC compatibles for the sake of user's conveniences.

  • The need for technological developments of lithography equipment is urgent for the stable production in response to the rapid growth of the recent display industry. As an example, the products currently in the market face alteration problems resulting from excessive weight of the mask holder part. This is one of obstacle for the automation of the equipment. In response, the mask holder part problem has been minimized through FEM and design of experiments in order to optimize the situation with minimized Deflection and reduced mass for satisfactory replacement of the mask holder part.

  • Composite reinforced fiber materials are used in lots of fields such as a part of aeronautic space, ship, machinery and so on because can make structure wished for necessary condition by control fiber direction and laminated sequence. As the use of advanced composites increase, specific techniques have been developed to repair changed composite structures. In order to repair the damaged part production high quality composite reinforced fiber are completed by control the surrounding temperature and press in autoclave. The quality is influenced heat exposure degree by chemical reaction for precessing. This study considerated influence limit of using by repair structure part and change of properties according to heat exposure degree for repairing.

  • In order to prevent the defects, the optimum design of the production part, strip process layout, die design, die making and try out etc. are necessary the analysis of effective factors. For example, theory and practice of metal shearing process and it's phenomena, die structure, machine tool working for die making, die materials and it's heat treatment, metal working in field, their know how etc. are included in those factors. In this study, we analyzed whole of data base, theoretical back ground of metal working process, and then performed the progressive die tryout with the screw press. Part2 of this study reveals with ultra precision progressive die design, its making and tryout.
