Do social situations have an impact on an individual's information processing and emotional experiences? Two studies were conducted to investigate relationships between self-reference effects, emotional experiences and social information processing. Study 1 examined whether biases favoring self-related stimuli could occur automatically. Participants had to judge whether sequential geometric shape-label pairs matched or mismatched. The results showed that self-related stimuli are more rapidly processed than friends/others-related stimuli. In Study 2, the participants had to recall items which were presented with different instructions (either chosen by a friend or by the computer). Here we explored whether the self-reference effect is reduced in a social learning condition. When comparing the social learning condition (seated in pairs) with the nonsocial learning condition (seated alone), the participants recalled more self-related words in the nonsocial learning condition than in the social learning condition. Importantly, the automatic self-reference effect disappeared in the social learning condition. More friends-related words were recalled in the social condition than self-related words. In addition, while tasting chocolates, the participants judged them to be more likeable in the social condition than in the nonsocial condition. These results implicated that social processing can be useful for reducing the automatic self-reference effects and shared experiences are perceived more intensely than unshared experiences.

High Temperature deformation behavior of newly developed beta-gamma TiAl alloy was investigated in this study. The optimum processing condition was investigated with the aid of Dynamic Materials Model (DMM). Processing maps representing the efficiency of power dissipation for microstructural evolution and instability were constructed utilizing the results of hot compression test at temperatures ranging from $1000^{\circ}C$ to $1200^{\circ}C$ and strain rate ranging from $10^{-4}/s$ to $10^2/s$. The Artificial Neural Network (ANN) simulation was adopted to consider the deformation heating. With the help of processing map and microstructural analysis, the optimum processing condition was presented and the role of $\beta$ phase was also discussed in this study.

Friction stir welding and friction stir processing is a new solid state processing technique for ioining and micro..structural modification in metallic materials. It has been applied not only joining for light metals but also modification of the microstructure to enhance mechanical properties. In thin study, we investigated the mechanical properties for applied friction stir welding and processing under various parameters such as probe diameter, probe type, traveling speed and rotating speed for 5456-H116 AI allov. As a result of experiments, optimum condition of friction stir welding is traveling speed of 15mm/min, rotating speed of 500RPM at 6mm diameter probe. Moreover, in the case of friction stir processing, the optimum condition is traveling speed of 15mm/min, rotating speed of 250RPM at full screw probe. As above mentioned, the mechanical characteristics enhanced with the decreasing of traveling speed and the increasing of friction areas because of plastic flow due to high friction heat. These result can be used as reference data for ship repairment.

Effect of processing condition on the hot extrusion of Al-Zn-Mg-Sc alloy was investigated. For this purpose, hot compression test and FE-simulation were conducted via Thermecmaster-Z and DEFORM-3D, respectively. The microstructure evolution during hot extrusion and post heat-treatment was investigated and deformation mechanisms were analyzed by constructing processing map. FE-simulation results show that the temperature difference between container and billet has considerable influence on the final shape of extruded T-shape bar. The relation between applied load and processing time was predicted by the FE-analysis as well as punch speed vs. stroke chart.

As the condition evaluation of the active rules is performed whenever an event occurs, the performance of the system is influenced greatly depending on the conditions Processing method. Therefore, a study on evaluating the conditions of active rules becomes a very important element for enhancing the performance of active database. and the processing time of the calculation generated from the conditions must be minimized in order to improve the Performance. In this paper, the tree processing system which can effectively Process the join and selection operations is proposed. The experimental results show that tree processing system has the lower evaluation cost for the conditions processing of the active rules than the existing methods.
This study was attempted to establish the basic data for evaluating the processing suitability of the mussel, Mytilus edulis, cultured by hanging method in Yeosu Bay, Korea. Seasonal variations in condition index and chemical .composition of the mussel were carried out from March 1978 to February 1979. The results are as follows: 1. The condition index was highest from December to April next year. 2. The glycogen content of mussel was 2.7 to $3.9\%$ from December to May next year and revealed the maximum value, $3.9\%$ in December and March. F and G-values as the condition indices of the mussel showed also the highest value from December to March. 3. The protein content of mussel was highest from July to August. 4. By the results of condition index and chemical composition of the mussel, the suitable harvest season as raw materials for processing is determined to be from December to April next year and from July to August.
Optimal grinding condition was examined by changing only the size of screen opening with fixing other factors to produce coal fines of particle sizes required for circulating fluidized bed gasifier. At least 85 wt% of the coal particles should fall into the size range of 0.045~1.0 mm for efficient gasification. In this study, hammer mill was used to grind Chinese low rank lignite coal following grinding condition designed by Taguchi method. The analysis of signal to noise ratio showed that optimum grinding condition for the gasifier was 3 mm in primary screen size and 1.3 mm in secondary screen size on the 95% level of significance.

Objective : This study was observed the variation of components from Scutellariae Radix (SR) by processing and storage. Methods : The main component of SR is analysed after various processing and also storage condition by HPLC. Result : 1. In wine-fried SR, the contents of baicalein, wogonin and oroxylin-A was significantly increased. However, the content of baicalin was decreased slightly. In charred SR, the contents of baicalein, wogonin and oroxylin- A was significantly increased. However, the content of baicalin was decreased greatly. 2. The contents variation of SR was not almost changed in room and cold condition. But in accelerated condition, the content of baicalin was slightly decreased, and the contents of baicalein, wogonin and oroxylin-A was significantly increased. 3. The contents variation of wine-fried SR was not almost changed in room and cold condition. But in accelerated condition, the content of baicalin was signifjcantly decreased. 4. The contents variation of charred SR was not almost changed in all conditions. Conclusion : The bioactivity of SR and wine fried SR might be changed by the contents varition during longterm storage. charred SR can be preserved more than two years in room and cold condition.
In order to apply a static fault-tree (FT) method to a system or a plant whose configuration changes dynamically, condition gates and a post processing method are used to effectively accommodate these changes. An operator's performance change, which can be caused by these configuration changes, should also be considered to assess the risk to a plant in a more realistic manner. This study aims to develop an integrated framework to accommodate various configuration changes and their effect on an operator’s performance by using the FT model. We applied a condition-based human reliability assessment (CBHRA) method to consider various conditions endured by an operator. That is, we integrated the CBHRA method with the conventional post processing method for modeling the system configuration changes. The effect of the condition monitoring systems installed in a plant is also considered. In this study, we show an example application of the integrated framework to a probabilistic safety assessment for the shutdown phase of a nuclear power plant.

In order to make unmanned machining systems with satisfactory performances, it is necessary to incorporate appropriate condition monitoring systems in the machining workstations to provide the required intelligence of the expert. This paper deals with condition monitoring for chatter, tool wear and breakage during turning operation. To develop economic sensing and identiffication methods for turning processes, sound pressure measurement and digital signal processing technique were proposed. We suppressed chatter by stability control methodology, which was studied through manipulation of spindle speeds regarding to chatter frequencies. It was shown that tool wear and fracture were identified and to be estimated by using the wear indices. The validity of the proposed system was confirmed through the large number of cutting tests.
