  • In this application study, field pilot tests were performed to evaluate the validity of a proposed formula between the exerted electrical energy and SPT N-value based on the result of the basic study. Measurement sensors and recording system were developed to obtain exerted motor current and drilling depth in a field. By using the correlation formula proposed in the basic study, the measured motor current and boring speed were applied to predict SPT N-value and the predicted N-values were compared to SPT N-value of site exploration. From the comparisons it is verified that the exerted electrical energy to bore ground might be used to predict SPT N-value and pile tip location.

나노 정밀도 스캐닝 용 공기베어링과 보이스 코일 모터의 초정밀 이중 스테이지 설계 및 제어 (Design and Control of Ultra-precision Dual Stage with Air bearings and Voice coil motor for nm scanning system)

  • In this paper, a decoupled dual servo (DDS) stage for ultra-precision scanning system with large working range is introduced. In general, dual servo systems consist of a fine stage for short range and a coarse stage for long range. The proposed DDS also consists of a $XY\theta$ fine stage for handling and carrying workpieces and one axis coarse stage. Its coarse stage consists of air bearing guide system and a coreless linear motor with force ripple. The fine has four voice coil motors(VCM) as its actuator. According to a VCM's nature, there are no mechanical connections between coils and magnetic circuits. Moreover, VCM doesn't have force ripples due to imperfections of commutation components of linear motor systems - currents and flux densities. However, due to the VCM's mechanical constraints the working range of the fine is about $25mm^2$. To break that hurdle, the coarse stage with linear motors is used to move the fine about 500mm. Because of the above reasons, the proposed DDS can achieve higher precision scanning than other stages with only one servo. With MATLAB's Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP), the VCMs are optimally designed for the highest force under conditions and constraints such as thermal dissipations due to its coil, its size, and so on. And for their movements without any frictions, guide systems of the DDS are composed of air bearings. To get precisely their positions, a linear scale with 5nm resolution are used for the coarse stage's motion and three plane mirror laser interferometers with 5nm for the fine's $XY\theta$ motions. With them, on scanning the two stages have same trajectories. The control algorithm is named Parallel method. The embodied ultra-precision scanning system has sub 100nm following error and in-positioning stability.

  • 고속철도교의 기초로 많이 사용되고 있는 매입말뚝에서 천공으로 이완된 지반과 말뚝 사이의 충전재로서 기존 포틀랜드 시멘트계는 쏘일시멘트 강도가 낮고 시멘트 용출로 인한 지하수 오염, 희석 및 일수현상으로 인한 지표부 지반의 이완, 수평 저항성의 감소 및 내구성의 저하, 하중분담효과의 저하 등 안정성 확보 문제와 환경오염 문제를 내포하고 있었다. 특히, 고속철도교의 경우 열차진동, 급정거시 충격수평력 작용, 지진 등 일반 구조물 기초와는 달리 다양한 측면에서 안정성 확보가 필요하며, 기초 시공 분야도 저탄소 녹색성장이라는 친환경 기조의 시대적 요구사항을 고려해야 하는 실정이다. 더불어 경제성 및 공기 단축 등 시공성 확보까지 가능한 새로운 미래형 친환경 기초공법의 개발이 필수적이다. 따라서 기존 공법의 내구성 및 내진성, 내수평성을 개선하고, 환경오염을 최소화 할 수 있도록 새로운 충전재료의 개발과, 시공방법의 개선을 통해 구조적 안전성과 환경적 저해요소를 최소화하기 위한 다양한 시험 및 기초연구를 실시하였다, 이를 위해 수중불분리성과 고유동성, 고점성, 고침투성, 조강성 등을 동시에 가지는 신개념의 고성능 다기능의 충전재를 활용하여 기존의 시멘트계 충전재와의 적용성 비교시험을 실시하였다. 그 결과 기존 매입말뚝 공법 및 마이크로 파일 기초에 적용하였을 경우 연직지지력, 수평저항력 등 많은 측면에서 뛰어난 적용성을 보이고 있어 향후 다양한 추가 연구를 통해 새로운 친환경 기초로의 개발도 기대할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • 정격속도 80,000 rpm 초고속 원심분리기(ultra-centrifuge)의 회전체동역학 설계가 수행된다. 설계목표는 충분한 위험속도(critical speed)의 분리여유(separation margin)와 함께, 다수의 고차 위험속도 통과시 원심분리기 로터의 위치에서 양호한 불균형응답특성을 갖는 로터-베어링 시스템의 최적구성을 이루어 내는 것이다. 후자의 특성은 불균형에 의해 가진될 때 로터의 질량중심이 회전축에 가능한 한 근접하도록 함으로써 만족시킬 수 있으며, 이를 위해 초유연축(extra slender shaft)이 적용된다. 이와 더불어, 특히 1차 위험속도에서 공진에 기인한 로터의 큰 변위를 방지하기 위해 범퍼링(bumper ring) 또는 안내베어링(guide bearing)의 설치가 필요하다. 유한요소법(finite element method)에 의한 회전체동역학 모델링이 수행되며, 지지 구름베어링의 강성과 함께 소량의 감쇠(damping)가 고려된다.

Novel quantitative trait loci for the strong-culm and high-yield related traits in rice detected from the F2 population between the super thick-culm and super grain-bearing line 'LTAT-29' and the high-yielding variety 'Takanari'

  • Lodging is a serious issue in rice production, because it drastically decreases the biomass production and grain yield. Since the Green Revolution, the lodging resistance has been increased by lowering the moment of above-ground parts due to the short culm by the semi-dwarf gene sd1. However, it has been pointed out that sd1 alone has suppressive effects for biomass production and yield. To increase rice yield, the long-culm and large panicle type varieties with a superior lodging resistance need to be developed. To improve the lodging resistance and yield of these type varieties, it would be effective to identify novel alleles for these traits underlying natural variations in rice and to pyramid these alleles to a single rice variety. In order to perform this strategy, we have developed new rice lines derived from crosses among varieties with superior alleles. At first, TULT-gh-5-5 was selected from a cross between strong culm and high biomass variety Leaf Star and high-yielding variety Takanari, and TUAT-32HB was selected from a cross between high-yielding variety Akenohoshi and Takanari. Then, we developed the super thick-culm and super grain-bearing line, LTAT-29 derived from a cross between TULT-gh-5-5 and TUAT-32HB. In the current study, to identify the QTLs and genes relating to the strong culm and the high yield of LTAT-29, we performed QTL analysis using SNPs markers with $F_2$ population derived from a cross between LTAT-29 and Takanari. LTAT-29 has never lodged throughout the growth period despite it had long culms and heavy panicles. LTAT-29 had a larger outer diameter of the culm and twice the size of the section modulus than Takanari. As a result, the bending moment at breaking of LTAT-29 was significantly larger than that of Takanari. Brown rice yield of LTAT-29 was $9.2t\;ha^{-1}$ about 10% higher than that of Takanari due to the larger number of spikelets per panicle. LTAT-29 had a greater number of secondary branches per panicle. In the $F_2$ population between LTAT-29 and Takanari, we found continuous frequency distributions in the section modulus and the spikelet number per panicle. Two QTLs increased the section modulus by the alleles of LTAT-29 were detected on Chr.1L and Chr.2L. One QTL increased the spikelet number per panicle of Takanari by the allele of LTAT-29 was detected on Chr.1L, and two QTLs increased the number of secondary branches per panicle by the alleles of LTAT-29 were detected on Chr.1L and Chr.4L. It was found that the alleles of these QTLs were the japonica type originated from Leaf Star or Akenohoshi. The novel QTLs for the traits related to super thick-culm and super grain-bearing and their combinations could be utilized for improving the lodging resistance and yield in rice varieties.

터널해석에 있어 지하수 거동의 중요성 (Significance of Ground Water Movements in the Numerical Modelling of Tunnelling)

  • Tunnelling in water bearing soils influences the ground water regime. It has been indicated in the literature that the existence of ground water above a tunnel influences tunnel stability and the settlement profile. Only limited research, however, has been done on ground water movements around tunnels and their influence on tunnel performance. Time dependent soil behaviour can be caused by the changes of pore water pressure and/or the viscous properties of soil(creep) under the stress change resulting from the advance of the tunnel face. De Moor(1989) demonstrated that the time dependent deformations due to tunnelling are mainly the results of pore pressure dissipation and should be interpreted in terms of effective stress changes. Drainage into tunnels is governed by the permeability of the soil, the length of the drainage path and the hydraulic boundary conditions. The potential effect of lime dependent settlement in a shallow tunnel is likely to occur rapidly due to the short drainage path and possibly high coefficient of consolidation. Existing 2D modelling methods are not applicable to these tunnelling problems, as it is difficult to define empirical parameters. In this paper the time-based 2D modelling method is adopted to account for the three dimensional effect and time dependent behaviour during tunnel construction. The effect of coupling between the unloading procedure and consolidation during excavation is profoundly investigated with the method. It is pointed out that realistic modelling can be achieved by defining a proper permeability at the excavation boundary and prescribing appropriate time for excavation Some guidelines for the numerical modelling of drained and undrained excavation has been suggested using characteristic time factor. It is highlighted that certain range of the factor shows combined effect between the unloading procedure due to excavation and consolidation during construction.

  • Railway construction in the random vibration natural phenomena, as well as a relatively regular train loads for dynamic loads, such as a usability and safety should be ensured. Vibration due to train loads and seismic vibrations caused by wind compared to the typically very small in size, rather than the safety of the structure affects the usability. Recently in the downtown area, ground and underground facilities, such as a permanent facility that may cause excessive vibration increases, associated with the construction of these transportation facilities on ground vibrations of structures has been increasing concern and complaint. More recently, high-speed train vibration and noise due to furnace is increasing. In order to solve this problem, such as soundproof considering several feet, but by applying the vibration and noise reduction measures insufficient for the study is Free. In this study, track structure, track, and the inside of the building to support the system, the different forms of neurological history and share about the history cheonanahsan high-speed rail, if passed by the bus stop on the train loads of noise, and the history of interior noise and vibration measurement / analysis of measurement results to assess the relative comparison with the relevant provisions were reviewed. Based on this history, future plans for the design of the bridge to reflect the results of a study is intended to provide information. Waiting for the analysis of vibration and noise reduction, cheonanahsan history passed quietly in the train, on average, appeared to 67.53dB and 65.41dB nervous week on average, were measured with the history. Tool-Setup Monitoring of High Speed Precision Machining Tool

  • Recently the monitoring system of tool setting in high speed precision machining center is required for manufacturing products that have highly complex and small shape, high precision and high function. It is very important to reduce time to setup tool in order to improve the machining precision and the productivity and to protect the breakage of cutting tool as the shape of product is smaller and more complex. Generally, the combination of errors that geometrical clamping error of fixing tool at the spindle of machining tool and the asynchronized error of driving mechanism causes that the run-out of tool reaches to 3$^{\sim}$20 times of the thickness of cutting chip. And also the run-out is occurred by the misalignment between axis of tool shank and axis of spindle and spindle bearing in high speed rotation. Generally, high speed machining is considered when the rotating speed is more than 8,000 rpm. At that time, the life time of tool is reduced to about 50% and the roughness of machining surface is worse as the run-out is increased to 10 micron. The life time of tool could be increased by making monitoring of tool-setup easy, quick and precise in high speed machining tool. This means the consumption of tool is much more reduced. And also it reduces the manufacturing cost and increases the productivity by reducing the tool-setup time of operator. In this study, in order to establish the concept of tool-setup monitoring the measuring method of the geometrical error of tool system is studied when the spindle is stopped. And also the measuring method of run-out, dynamic error of tool system, is studied when the spindle is rotated in 8,000${\sim}$60,000 rpm. The dynamic phenomena of tool-setup are analyzed by implementing the monitoring system of rotating tool system and the non-contact measuring system of micro displacement in high speed.

A Scheme on Internet-based Checking for Variant CNC Machines in Machine Shop

  • This paper proposes Internet-based checking technique for machine-tools with variant CNC (Computerized Numerical Controller). According to the architecture of CNC, CNC is classified into two types such as CAC (Closed Architecture Controller) which is conventional CNC, and OAC (Open Architecture Controller) which is a recently introduced PC-based controller. CAC has a closed architecture and it is dependent on CNC vender specification. Because of this, it has been very difficult for users to implement an application programs in CNC domain. Therefore, an additionally special module is required for Internet-based application such as remote checking. In this case, web I/O embedded module can be efficiently applied for Internet-based checking. The module is directly attached to TCP/IP network for communication. In order to obtain the monitoring data of CNC machines, the I/O signals of the module are assigned to PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) input and output (I/O) signals within CNC domain. On the other hand, OAC has a PC-based open architecture and an additional module is not necessary for the connection with external site. Because of this, a simple DAU is just used for signal sensing and data acquisition without additional communication modules. For Internet-based remote checking of machine-tools with OAC, a user-defined daemon and application programs are implemented as the form of internal function within the PC-based controller. Internet communication is performed between the daemon program in CNC domain and web script programs in external server. Checking points defined in this research are classified into two categories such as structured point and operational point. The formal includes the vibration of bearing, temperature of spindle unit and another periodical management. And the latter includes oil checking, clamp locking/unlocking and machining on/off status.

스트립형의 섬유 면진 베어링의 실험적 해석 (An Experimental Study on Fiber Reinforced Strip Form Isolator)

  • 기존의 면진 기술을 일반건물에 적용하기 위해서는 낮은 가격과 낮은 무게로 면진 베어링이 제작 및 공급되어야 한다. 이에 본 논문에서는 일반건물에 면진 기술을 적용하기 위한 방법으로 기존의 적층고무 면진 베어링에 철판을 대체하여 섬유로 보강하고, 고무와 섬유의 층으로 구성된 벨트 타입의 면진 베어링을 제안하였다. 또한 제안한 섬유보강 면진 베어링을 설계 및 제작하여 수직실험과 수평실험을 수행하여 그 성능을 검증하였다. 따라서, 스트립형의 면진 베어링이 제작가능하며 일반건물의 필요한 크기로 절단이 가능함을 보였다. 또한 수평 실험 수직 실험을 통해서 기존의 적층고무 면진 베어링을 대체하여 사용할 수 있는 결과를 보였다. 이와 같은 결과를 통해서 일반건물에 낮은 무게와 낮은 가격의 면진 베어링을 공급할 수 있음을 보였다. 이 연구결과로 인해 스트립형의 섬유보강 면진 베어링이 저가건물에 널리 사용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
