By operating on many part of a software system concurrently, the parallel processing computers may provide several orders of magnitude more computing power than traditional serial computers. If the Lagrangean approximation procedure is applied to a large scale manufacturing problem which is decomposable into many subproblems, the procedure is a perfect candidate for parallel processing. By distributing Lagrangean subproblems for given multiplier to multiple processors, concurrently running processors and modifying Lagrangean multipliers at the end of each iteration of a subgradient method,a parallel processing of a Lagrangean approximation procedure may provide a significant speedup. This purpose of this research is to investigate the potential of the parallelized Lagrangean approximation procedure (PLAP) for certain combinational optimization problems in manufacturing systems. The framework of a Plap is proposed for some combinatorial manufacturing problems which are decomposable into well-structured subproblems. The synchronous PLAP for the multistage dynamic lot-sizing problem is implemented on a parallel computer Alliant FX/4 and its computational experience is reported as a promising application of vector-concurrent computing.

The design procedure originally proposed by Manabe is involved, because experiences and manual skills are necessary, especially, in the case of designing low fixed-order controllers for high-order plants, and the concept of manual skills are not clearly defined. So we propose a concept and a design procedure of Approximate Pole Placement that substitute for the manual skills. And the validity of the procedure is shown by example problems. Moreover, we also propose a procedure of adding the role of improving transient response performance to the feedforward compensator that previously has only the role of tracking in steady-state the validity of the procedure is also shown by example problems.

서로 같은 분산을 가지며 정규분포를 따르는 4개의 처리평균의 대응비교에 관한 연구로서, 삼중 t-분포를 이용하여 동시포함 범위 확률값이 정확히 $1-\alpha$를 갖는 통계적 계산방법과 기법을 고찰하였다. 이 기법을 이용하여 처리사이의 표본 갯수를 변화시켜 대응되는 정확한 신뢰구간을 구하며 기존의 신뢰구간의 길이 비교, 실험적 오차 비, 효율성을 조사하였다.

As the use of software increases at nuclear power plants (NPPs), the necessity for including software reliability and/or safety into the NPP Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) rises. This work proposes an application procedure of software reliability growth models (RGMs), which are most widely used to quantify software reliability, to NPP PSA. Through the proposed procedure, it can be determined if a software reliability growth model can be applied to the NPP PSA before its real application. The procedure proposed in this work is expected to be very helpful for incorporating software into NPP PSA.

In this study, a numerical procedure to solve a contact problem has been developed. The procedure takes the advantage of signal processing technique in frequency domain to achieve the shorter computer processing time. The Boussinesq's equation was adopted as the response function. This procedure is applicable to the non-periodic surface profile as well as the periodic one. The validity of this procedure has been established by comparing the numerical results with the exact solutions. The effectiveness of this procedure is lied on the shorter computing time than any other contact analysis algorithm.

Extensor hallucis brevis (EHB) is only extensor of the first metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joint after modified Jones procedure. Therefore preserving the normal insertion of the EHB has been emphasized during that procedure. We experienced a case of EHB rupture after modified Jones procedure and had satisfied surgical outcome by partial transfer of extensor digitorum longus (EDL) of second toe.

In this paper, we propose a new bankruptcy algorithm. The proposed algorithm is comprised of four tasks. Task A is the procedure of soliciting bids, Task B is the procedure of allocating claims, Task C is the procedure of trading claims, and Task D is the procedure of exercising options and holding shareholders' meeting. Tasks A, B, and D are based on Bebchuk(1988) and Aghion, Hart, ad Moore(1992). This paper adds Task C, the procedure of trading claims. Claims are in the form of options which are written on the new shares of the bankrupt firm. Trading options expedites the process of finding the value of the bankrupt firm, and also it mitigates the problem of incomplete capital market by expanding the pool of new investors.

Nowadays many people participate in online communities for information sharing. But most recommender systems are designed for personalization of individual user, so it is necessary to develop a recommendation procedure for group users, such as participants in online communities. This paper proposes a group recommender system to recommend books for group users in online communities. For such a purpose, we suggest a group recommendation procedure consisting of two phases. The first phase is to generate recommendation list for 'big user' using collaborative filtering, and the second phase is to remove irrelevant books among previous list reflecting the preference of each individual user. The procedure is explained step by step with an illustrative example. And this procedure can potentially be applied to other domains, such as music, movies and etc.

The Outerbridge-Kashiwagi (O-K) procedure is one of popular procedures for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the elbow. Although reliable outcome has been reported in the literature, intraoperative and postoperative complications may occur. Acute postoperative neurologic complications are rarely reported in the literature. We report a case of acute complete ulnar neuropathy following O-K procedure in the elbow with longstanding flexion loss. Prophylactic ulnar nerve decompression during the O-K procedure should be considered in the elbows with osteoarthritis and prolonged severe flexion contracture.

Ridge expansion osteotomy(REO) procedure is used to widen the narrow ridge in locations that are too thin to permit the use of standard implant drills. The objective of this technique is to maintain, if possible, all of the existing maxillary bone by pushing the bone aside with minimal trauma. The author has used tis procedure on five patients who had narrow ridge in their soft maxillary bone. Fifteen implants were placed in sites needing ridge expansion using REO. The satisfactory results were obtained. The REO procedure is thought to be a safer and more conservative method of widening a narrow ridge. And this procedure is heatless, offers excellent tactile sensitivity, control, visibility, and takes advantage of available bone.
