The Influence of Learning Styles on a Model of IoT-based Inclusive Education and Its Architecture

  • The Internet of Things (IoT) is a new paradigm that is revolutionizing computing. It is intended that all objects around us will be connected to the network, providing "anytime, anywhere" access to information. This study introduces IoT with Kolb's learning style in order to enhance the learning experience especially for inclusive education for primary and secondary schools where delivery of knowledge is not limited to physical, cognitive disabilities, human diversity with respect to ability, language, culture, gender, age and of other forms of human differences. The article also emphasizes the role of learning style as a discovery process that incorporates the characteristics of problem solving and learning. Kolb's Learning Style was chosen as it is widely used in research and in practical information systems applications. A consistent pattern of finding emerges by using a combination of Kolb's learning style and internet of things where specific individual differences, learning approach differences and IoT application differences are taken as a main research framework. Further several suggestions were made by using this combination to IoT architecture and smart environment of internet of things. Based on these suggestions, future research directions are proposed.

병원 간호사와 의사의 갈등관리유형과 의사소통능력 및 협력 간의 관계 (Conflict Management Style, Communication Competence, and Collaboration among Hospital Nurses and Physicians)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to identify the relationship among conflict management style, communication competence and nurse-physician collaboration in hospital nurses and physicians. Methods: This is a descriptive study. Using a questionnaire, data were collected from 230 nurses and 107 physicians at a university hospital in D city. With SPSS/WIN 22.0 program, data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: Physicians scored the highest for communication competence in nurse-physician relationship and the lowest in medical decision making, while nurses scored the highest in patient information sharing and the lowest in nurse-physician relationship. Physicians with problem solving tendency scored higher in communication competence than those with avoiding tendency. Among the nurses, those with avoiding tendency scored the lowest. For both physicians and nurses, communication competence showed a significant negative correlation with avoidance. For nurses there was also a significant positive correlation with compromising tendency. Finally, there was a significant correlation between nurse-physician collaboration and communication competence in both groups. Conclusion: This study demonstrates that nurse-physician collaboration and communication competence are correlated with conflict management style. We suggest educational programs at more hospitals in various locations to improve nurse-physician collaboration reflecting conflict management style.

  • Since the latter half of 20 century, in Korea, there are many discussions on the identity of Korean itself in several divisions, in which the discussion on the identity in the part of the costume or the part of the art reflecting the life, is the subject which must not fail to be noticed. So, we try to study the common structure manifested in the Korean painting and the costume as a part of basic recognition of problems and the way of problem-solving for the research on the Koran formative characteristics. The method and the process of this study is first, to consider the characteristics of the plastic and style of the Oriental arts and the Occidental arts by discourse implicate the difference between Oriental and Occidental view and the recognition of the body in the two worlds. And in the study we try to apprehend the dynamic modern artistic value of Korean style through assimilation between the Korean style and Baroque style according to the theory of $W\ddot{o}lfflin$ about the classical style and Baroque style. We will describe the Korean identity by analyzing the Korean plasticity with the Occidental style of dress and paintings reflecting the Occidental culture and thought and the Oriental things, and modern paintings and dress in the present age. As a result, we can try to recherche the way of use of new design for the identity of Korean style, in the concept of the ellipsis, repetition of the retrait, obscur silhouette, and superimposition.

농민조직의 리더십 유형과 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Leadership Style and Development of Agricultural Organization in Korea)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the leadership style and development of agricultural organization in Korea. Specific objectives of the study were to : 1) identify the leadership style of agricultural organization though literature review, 2) survey the members' opinions about their leadership style, 3) examine the leader's self-estimation of their leadership style, 4) identify the desirable leadership style items of the leaders and members, 5) suggest effective way to the development of leadership style. The study was carried out through literature review and questionnaire survey. Total of 715 farmers were surveyed to collect data, and 501 responded. The statistical techniques applied on the data are frequency, percentile, analysis of variance, multiple regression utilizing the SPSS/WIN, and the statistical significance was tested at .05 level. The major findings of the study were: 1) the leaders motivation and problem solving abilities of agricultural organizations were not enough to satisfy the members, 2) members believed the leaders make somewhat arbitrary decisions, 3) the leaders of the organizations had difficulties to coordinate the different opinions of the members, and 4) the leaders of the organizations felt the need of skills and information on leadership style and development of agricultural organization. For improvement of leadership for agricultural organization, this study suggests; 1) the more education programs should be made and practiced to make their leadership special, 2) all members should make much efforts to have channels for rational communication, 3) the leaders have to give members well-polished incentives for active participation, 4) more governmental support should be given to empower those organizations, and 5) the agricultural organizations, universities and government must establish a strong coordinating system to realize above suggestions.

외식기업 종사원이 인지하는 직장 내 괴롭힘이 대처 방법 및 이직 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Workplace Harassment on Employees' Coping Style and Intention to Leave in the Foodservice Industries)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of foodservice employees' workplace harassment on their coping styles and intention to leave. Based on total 374 foodservice employees obtained from the empirical research, this study reviewed reliability and fitness of research model and verified total 3 hypotheses. SEM was conducted to test the validity of the proposed model and the hypotheses. The structural model provided an adequate fit to the data, $x^2=1,344.862$ (p<.001), df=420, GFI=.839, IFI=.900, CFI=.900, RMSEA=.076. To examine how employees' workplace harassment affects coping with harassment; workplace harassment had a significant effect on self-doubt (${\beta}=.401$, p<.001), ignored bully doubt (${\beta}=.621$, p<.001), and indirect or passive doubt (${\beta}=.527$, p<.001); whereas problem solving (${\beta}=-.094$, p>.05) did not. Furthermore, employees' workplace harassment (${\beta}=.126$, p<.05) had no significant effect on intention to leave. Employees' coping with harassment had a significant effect on intention to leave; especifically, among employees' coping with harassment elements, problem solving(${\beta}=-.572$; p<.001), self-doubt (${\beta}=.369$, p<.001), indirect or passive (${\beta}=.239$, p<.001), and ignored bully (${\beta}=-.161$, p<.01) had a significant effect on intention to leave. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.

리더-멤버 교환(LMX)과 변혁적 리더십(TFL)이 직무태도에 미치는 영향: 고성과 vs. 저성과 R&D인력 비교 (The Effects of Leader-Member Exchange and Transformational Leadership among High Performer and Low Performer of R&D Professionals)

  • 이 연구는 고성과 R&D인력의 특성을 규명하고, 리더-멤버 교환(LMX)와 변혁적 리더십(TFL)이 직무만족 및 조직몰입에 미치는 영향력을 실증 분석하였다. 분석 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 저성과 R&D인력과 비교하여 고성과 R&D인력은 인성(personality) 측면에서 '위험감수성향', '자기효능감', '성취욕구'가 더 높다. 둘째, 고성과 R&D인력은 '혁신적 문제해결 스타일'이 더 높으며, '적응적 문제해결 스타일'은 차이가 없다. 셋째, LMX와 TFL은 각각 직무만족 및 조직몰입에 긍정적인 관계를 갖고 있다. 넷째, TFL은 LMX의 효과를 넘어서는 증분효과(augmentation effect)는 저성과 R&D인력의 경우에 존재한다. 고성과 R&D인력의 경우에는 TFL과 LMX 중 하나만 존재하면 다른 것은 추가적인 효과가 없다. 이상의 연구결과에 근거하여 리더십에 대한 이론적 의미와 R&D인력 관리 및 리더십 개발의 실무적 시사점을 논의하였다.

학습자의 학습 스타일에 따른 온-오프라인 융합 학습활동을 통한 학습 효과 분석 (An Analysis of the Effects of On-Off line Convergence Learning Activities Based on Students' Learning Styles)

  • 본 연구는 최근 핫이슈가 되고 있는 온라인 오프라인 융합 학습전략인 거꾸로 학습 전략이 학습자들에게 학습의 효과가 있을 것이라는 가정 하에 거꾸로 학습 전략을 대학 교양영어 수업에 적용하여 대학 교양 영어 학습자들의 학습 스타일 및 학업수준에 따른 학업 성취도와 태도의 차이를 분석해 보고자 하였다. 학업 성취도 분석을 위해 실험 전 진단 평가와 실험 후 성취도 평가를 실시하여 비교 분석하였고, 학습태도는 크게 동기, 선호, 가치로 분류하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과 학습자의 학습 스타일을 고려한 거꾸로 학습 전략 적용은 학습자들의 학업 성취도에 의미 있는 결과를 나타내지 않았지만 학습 태도에는 의미 있는 결과를 나타내었다. 결과적으로 대학 교양 영어 수업에 있어서의 거꾸로 학습 적용은 학습자들에게 학습에 대한 동기 부여를 줄 수 있고 수업활동에 적극적으로 참여하도록 유도할 수 있는 학습 전략임을 시사하고 있으며 이에 따른 적합한 수업 구성 및 전략을 제고하는데 연구의 가치가 있다.

경인지역 보건소 방문간호사의 의사결정유형에 따른 셀프리더십과 의사소통 능력 (Relations among the Decision Making Style, Self Leadership and Communication Competence of Visiting Nurses)

  • 현장에서 직접 대상자의 가정을 방문하여 요구사정에서부터 중재, 평가에 이르기까지 간호제공의 전 과정을 수행해야 하는 방문간호사의 업무수행 능력을 제고의 관점에서 의사결정 유형과 셀프리더십 그리고 의사소통 능력간의 관련성을 분석하였다. 방문간호사들의 의사결정 유형과 의사소통 능력과 셀프리더십은 모두 상관관계가 있었으며 서로 유기적인 관계가 있음을 확인하였다. 방문간호사의 의사결정 유형은 합리적 유형이 가장 많은 것으로 나타났으며, 이와 관련하여 셀프리더십 정도와 의사소통 능력 측면에서도 합리적 의사결정 유형에서 가장 높은 점수를 나타냈다. 합리적 의사결정 유형은 의사결정 유형 중 가장 바람직한 것으로 논의되어 온 바 방문간호사가 높은 문제해결 능력을 가지고 있음을 실증적으로 보여준 사례로 해석할 수 있다.

Design Space Exploration for NoC-Style Bus Networks

  • With the number of IP cores in a multicore system-on-chip increasing to up to tens or hundreds, the role of on-chip interconnection networks is vital. We propose a networks-on-chip-style bus network as a compromise and redefine the exploration problem to find the best IP tiling patterns and communication path combinations. Before solving the problem, we estimate the time complexity and validate the infeasibility of the solution. To reduce the time complexity, we propose two fast exploration algorithms and develop a program to implement these algorithms. The program is executed for several experiments, and the exploration time is reduced to approximately 1/22 and 7/1,200 at the first and second steps of the exploration process, respectively. However, as a trade-off for the time saving, the time cost (TC) of the searched architecture is increased to up to 4.7% and 11.2%, respectively, at each step compared with that of the architecture obtained through full-case exploration. The reduction ratio can be decreased to 1/4,000 by simultaneously applying both the algorithms even though the resulting TC is increased to up to 13.1% when compared with that obtained through full-case exploration.

일 대학 간호학생의 학습유형별 시뮬레이션 교육 효과 (Effects of High-Fidelity Simulation-Based Training of Nursing Students according to their Learning Styles)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 일개 대학 간호과 3학년 학생 145명을 대상으로 학습유형별 시뮬레이션 교육 전 후 자기효능감, 문제해결능력, 임상수행능력 차이를 파악하여 학습유형별 시뮬레이션 교육을 제공하기 위한 기초자료를 마련하고자 실시하였다. 본 연구는 시뮬레이션교육 후 학습유형별로 효과를 검증하기 위한 단일군 전후설계 실험연구이다. 본 연구 결과 간호학생의 학습유형은 적응자가 가장 많았으며, 시뮬레이션 교육 후 문제해결능력(F=5.015, p=.02)과 임상수행능력(F=3.288, p=.02)은 유의한 차이를 나타냈으며, 문제해결능력은 융합자와 분사자가 적응자보다, 임상수행능력은 융합자가 적응자보다 유의하게 높게 나타나 학습유형별 시뮬레이션 교육의 효과에 차이가 있음을 확인하였다. 그러나 자기효능감은 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 나타나지 않았다. 이상의 연구결과를 바탕으로 학습유형별로 시뮬레이션교육을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
