The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effects of self-efficacy in correlation between conscientiousness and neuroticism among the Big Five personality traits and stress coping strategies. The following two study questions were formulated. Study Question 1: What is the correlation between the Big Five personality traits, stress coping strategies, and self-efficacy Study Question 2: Among the Big Five personality traits, conscientiousness and neuroticism are selected as clinically very meaningful variables that represent mental health in undergraduates. If so, does self-efficacy play a mediating role in the correlation between conscientiousness and neuroticism and stress coping strategies To verify the two study questions, the Big Five personality traits, stress coping strategies scale, and self-efficacy scale were measured for a sample of 462 freshmen attending D University located in Chungcheong. First, according to the results of correlation analysis, neuroticism and self-efficacy showed a negative correlation, and conscientiousness showed a positive correlation. Regarding the Big Five personality traits and stress coping strategies, conscientiousness showed a negative correlation with avoidance-orientation among stress coping strategies. Neuroticism showed a negative correlation with social support and problem solving-orientation among stress coping strategies. Second, according to the results of analyzing the mediating effects of self-efficacy through hierarchical regression analysis, self-efficacy exerted partial mediating effects only in correlation between neuroticism and avoidance-orientation. This study is significant in its anticipation of undergraduates' stress coping, personality factors can be usefully employed as psychological constructs, and particularly, when an undergraduate reveals the neuroticism factor, which is one of the predictors for mental health, and the tendencies of avoidance among stress coping strategies, educational interventions for self-efficacy are needed to reduce their mental stress.

System design errors are more likely to occur in modern systems because of their steadily increasing size and complexity. Failures due to system design errors can cause safety-related accidents in the system, resulting in extensive damage to people and property. Therefore, international standards organizations, such as the U.S. Department of Defense and the International Electrotechnical Commission, have established international safety standards to ensure system safety, and recommend that system design and safety activities should be integrated. Recently, the safety of a system has been verified by modeling through a model-based system design. On the other hand, system design and safety activities have not been integrated because the model for system design and the failure model for safety analysis and verification were developed using different modeling language platforms. Furthermore, studies using UML or SysML-based failure models for deriving safety requirements have shown that these models have limited applicability to safety analysis and verification. To solve this problem, it is essential to extend the existing methods for failure model implementation. First, an improved SysML-based failure model capable of integrating system design and safety verification activities should be produced. Next, this model should help verify whether the safety requirements derived via the failure model are reflected properly in the system design. Therefore, this paper presents the concept and method of developing a SysML-based failure model for an automotive system. In addition, the failure model was simulated to verify the safety of the automotive system. The results show that the improved SysML-based failure model can support the integration of system design and safety verification activities.

The paper is to solve the problem of existing sound system, which has difficulties of system organization and the increase of additional install cost and unfriendly interior. To solve the existing system, we drew the new sound system based on PLC and studied it. A transmitter and a receiver were designed using the PLC chip INT5500CS. Sound system was configured with a CD player that sound signals are sent from the transmitter and a speaker connected to the receiver. For analysis of characteristics of this system, a USBPre external sound card and Smaart Live 5 which is a PC-based sound measuring program were added. As a result of our experiment, the measured signal level is $2{\sim}3$[dB] lower than reference signal, latency is 16.69[ms] and the specific character of coherency is bad in high frequency band. Otherwise, this system transmits and receives signals over 90[%] in good condition as a result of measuring pink noise, frequency(1kHz), and phase, magnitude. In view of the result so far achieved, the system designed our team has excellent performance, it resolves defect of existing audio signal transmition system.

This study was executed for utilizing it as basic data in appropriate recycling way and design by examining and analyzing various characteristics of food waste which is being discharged from various restaurant and apartment house. In general, there were differences in restaurants classification and Japanese restaurant showed big differences as compared to other restaurants. Vegetable had the highest composition and its contents had big difference according to seasons. In alien substances, oyster shells were the highest and restaurants showed high rate of alien substances than apartments, therefore it was required to divide them in advance. Salinity was the highest in Japanese restaurants and most restaurants had rate of up to 1%, so it was not appropriate for recycling. However, it was considered that if there is cleaning operation in the whole process, there might not be a problem. Feed Ingredient had 28% of fiber, 25% of protein, and 11% of fats. We analyzed noxious germs and heavy metal too. However microorganisms of etiological cause were not detected and each harmful material showed less values of control concentration. In the result of analysis of each characteristic, it is required to consider collection rate from restaurants and apartments and seasonal cause into design regarding recycling. And apartments are compatible to compost than feed and food waste from Chinese, flour restaurant and collective feeding facilities are compatible for feed, as it is evaluated.

A huge marine accident causes a loss of valuable lives, property and the serious marine environment pollution. IMO adopted resolution A.949(23) to provide Places of Refuge(PoR) to 'Ship in need of assistance', which is to minimize the secondary environmental pollution caused by marine accidents. If the level of risk exceeds a certain range, it is necessary to be designated as Places of Refuge(PoR) after evaluation of potential risk, which is based on the database of several marine environmental factors. Also, it is necessary to develop skills about quantification/standardization of vessel traffic safety, complexity and risk. Because there is the close relation between the problem of designating Places of Refuge(PoR) and the policy of nation for protecting the natural environment of coastal state, it is important to prepare related legislation. In this paper, introduction of Places of Refuge(PoR) in domestic areas have been suggested based on the analysis of several foreign designating cases.

Ground reaction curve is very useful information for estimating the installation time of the tunnel support. The ground reaction curve can be estimated by analytical closed form solutions derived in case of circular section and isotropic stress condition. The nature of the ground reaction, however, depends significantly on tunnel configurations. Nevertheless, few purely analytical and experimental studies of this problem due to tunnel configurations appear to have been carried out. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the influence of tunnel configurations in order to use simply in practical design. This paper describes a numerical study for the intial elastic displacement in the ground reaction curve due to configuration of tunnel excavation. In order to evaluate the applicability of analytical closed form solution in practical design, the parametric studies were carried out by numerical analysis in elastic tunnel behaviour. In the studies, S value, namely configuration factor, defined as the ratio between tunnel height (b) and width (a), varies between 0.5 and 3.0, initial ground vertical stress varies between 5~30 MPa for each S values. The results indicated that the self-supportability of ground is larger in the ground having low S value. It, however, is suggested that the applicability of closed form solution may not be adequate to determine directly the installation time of the support and self-supportability of ground. It should be necessary to perform the additional numerical analysis.

It is usually not an easy task to counter-measure on time and appropriately when confronting with troubles in mechanized tunnelling job-sites because of the limitation of available spaces to perform those actions with the existence of disk cutter, cutter head, chamber and other various apparatus in Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). So, it is important to predict the ground condition ahead of a tunnel face during tunnel excavation. Efforts have been made to utilize geophysical methods such as elastic wave survey, electromagnetic wave survey, electrical resistivity survey, etc for predicting the ground condition ahead of the TBM tunnel face. Each prediction method among these geophysical methods has its own advantage and disadvantage. Therefore, it might be needed to apply several geophysical methods rather than just one to predict the ground condition ahead of the tunnel face in the complex and/or mixed grounds since those methods will compensate among others. The problem is that each prediction method will give us different answer on the predicted ground condition; how to combine different solutions into a most reasonable and representative predicted value might be important. Therefore, in this study, we proposed a methodology how to systematically combine each prediction method utilizing probabilistic analysis as well as analytic hierarchy process. The proposed methods is applied to a virtual job site to confirm the applicability of the model to predict the ground condition ahead of the tunnel face in the mechanized tunnelling.
Introduction: Osteoporosis, the most common metabolic bone disorder, is a condition of reduced bone density and increased susceptibility to fractures. Osteoporosis is a major public health problem and a significant cause of morbidity in postmenopausal women. Therefore family physicians as primary care physicians are in a key position for preventing and treating this disorder. So we studied the factors affecting to bone mineral density in postmenopausal women. Materials and Methods: A total of 136 spontaneous postmenopausal women were participated in the study. They have measured spinal bone mineral density by dual energy x-ray absorptiometry from January 1992 to June 1995 at Yeungnam University Hospital. Age, height, weight, age at menarche and menopause, number of child and breast feeding child, history of oral pill ingestion, family history of osteoporosis, amount of milk and coffee ingestion, consumption of tobacco and alcohol and physical activity were assessed by qustionnaire and medical records. Results: The mean age is 55.2 and mean age at menopause is 47.9. Height, weight and physical activity were significantly positive correlated to bone mineral density. But age, duration after menopause and number of child were significantly negative correlated. Also age, height, weight, physical activity and duration after menopause were significantly correlated to % age-matched bone mineral density. In multiple regression analysis, which dependent variable is bone mineral density, duration after menopause, physical activity and weight were significant contributors. Duration after menopause is most the largest contributor. In multiple regression analysis, which dependent variable is % age-matched bone mineral density to adjust the age effect, physical activity and weight were significant contributors. Physical activity is most the largest contributor. Conclusions: Among factors affecting to BMD in postmenopausal women, physical activity and weight were more important factors. Therefore continuous physical activity is significant factor to prevent osteoporosis in postmenopausal women.

An analytical method of $^{99}Tc$ concentration in soil was set up and discussed considering the $^{99}Tc$ concentration in Korean soil measured with its analytical method. A selective TEVA resin was used to separate and purify the $^{99}Tc$ in the soil sample. $^{99m}Tc$ from a commercial $^{99}Mo/^{99m}Tc$ generator was used as a yield tracer for the chemical separation of $^{99}Tc$ and its problem when using $^{99m}Tc$ as a tracer was discussed. The chemical recovery yield of $^{99}Tc$ was above 70%. The optimum conditions of inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry system(ICP-MS) were set up to determine the $^{99}Tc$ after the separation process. The minimum detectable activity(MDA) was 15 mBq/kg-dry in this analytical procedure. The $^{99}Tc$ concentration in soils of Jeju and Kori were measured in the rage of 33.73-89.16 mBq/kg-dry. Those values were less than those reported in other countries and seemed to be originated from atmospheric fallout.
