주구조물 및 부구조물에 대한 감진장치의 지진응답 감소 효율성 (Effectiveness of Isolation-System on Reduction of Seismic Response of Primary and Secondary Structures)

  • 논문에서는 주구조물의 기초와 부구조물의 지지점에 설치된 감진장치가 구조물의 지진응답 감소에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 여러가지 지진하중의 특성에 따른 감진장치가 설치된 주구조물과 부구조물의 거동을 비교분석하였으며, 이때 사용된 해석모델은 고정기초 구조물에 지지점이 고정된 부구조물, 감진기초 구조물에 지지점이 고정된 부구조물, 고정기초 구조물에 지지점 감진장치가 설치된 부구조물과 같은 세가지이다. 부구조물의 응답계산에서는 주구조물과 부구조물의 상호작용을 고려하였다. 계산에 사용한 수치적분방법은 constant average acceleration 방법이며, 이 방법과 축소행렬방법을 이용한 전산프로그램(KBISAP)을 사용하였다. 또한 지진하중에 대한 구조물의 지면에 대한 상대변위를 제한시키기 위하여 여러가지 지진하중에 대한 구조물의 가속도와 변위의 상관관계를 계산하여 감진장치의 적합한 수평강성을 분석하였다.

Tissue engineering of dental pulp on type I collagen

  • The purpose of this study was to regenerate human dental pulp tissues similar to native pulp tissues. Using the mixture of type I collagen solution, primary cells collected from the different tissues (pulp, gingiva, and skin) and NIH 3T3 ($1{\;}{\times}{\;}10^5{\;}cells/ml/well$) were cultured at 12-well plate at $37^{\circ}C$ for 14 days. Standardized photographs were taken with digital camera during 14 days and the diameter of the contracted collagen gel matrix was measured and statistically analyzed with student t-test. As one of the pulp tissue engineering, normal human dental pulp tissue and collagen gel matrix cultured with dental pulp cells for 14 days were fixed and stained with Hematoxyline & Eosin. According to this study, the results were as follows: 1. The contraction of collagen gel matrix cultured with pulp cells for 14 days was significantly higher than other fibroblasts (gingiva, skin) (p < 0.05), 2. The diameter of collagen gel matrix cultured with pulp cells was reduced to 70.4% after 7 days, and 57.1% after 14 days. 3. The collagen gel without any cells did not contract, whereas the collagen gel cultured with gingiva and skin showed mild contraction after 14 days (88.1% and 87.6% respectively). 4. The contraction of the collagen gel cultured with NIH 3T3 cells after 14 days was higher than those cultured with gingival and skin fibroblasts, but it was not statistically significant (72.1%, p > 0.05). 5. The collagen gel matrix cultured with pulp cells for 14 days showed similar shape with native pulp tissue without blood vessels. This approach may provide a means of engineering a variety of other oral tissue as well and these cell behaviors may provide information needed to establish pulp tissue engineering protocols.

Krylov-Schur 순환법에 의한 2차원 사각도파관에서의 고유치 문제에 관한 연구 (A Study On The Eigen-properties of A 2-D Square Waveguide by the Krylov-Schur Iteration Method)

  • Krylov-Schur 반복법을 활용하여 2-차원 사각 도파관에서 나타나는 고유특성을 밝혔다. 고유 행렬 방정식은 삼각형 그물 요소의 접선을 기저벡터로 사용한 FEM(유한요소법)으로 구성하였다. 우선 Arnoldi 분해법을 이용하여 이 방정식에 대한 상위 Hessenberg 행렬을 구하였다. 그리고 QR 알골리즘을 통하여 이것을 삼각형 대각 행렬인 Shur 형태로 변형하였다. 수렴 조건에 부합된 몇몇 고유 값들이 삼각형 대각 행렬의 대각 요소에 나타났다. 이들에 대응하는 고유 모드들을 역-반복법으로 구하였다. 수렴조건에 부합되는 고유 값들은 Shur 행렬의 대각선 선두 부분으로 재배열시켰다. 이들은 나머지 고유값 및 고유모드의 쌍을 구하는 반복 과정에서 변형되지 않도록 배제되었다. 이 과정이 연속하여 서너 번 반복되었는데, 그 결과 충분한 신뢰도를 갖는 주요한 몇 개의 TM 및 TE 고유 쌍들이 구하여졌다.

Evaluation of Non-Watertight Dural Reconstruction with Collagen Matrix Onlay Graft in Posterior Fossa Surgery

  • Objective : Many surgeons advocate for watertight dural reconstruction after posterior fossa surgery given the significant risk of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak. Little evidence exists for posterior fossa dural reconstruction utilizing monolayer collagen matrix onlay graft in a non-watertight fashion. Our objective was to report the results of using collagen matrix in a non-watertight fashion for posterior fossa dural reconstruction. Methods : We conducted a retrospective review of operations performed by the senior author from 2004-2011 identified collagen matrix (DuraGen) use in 84 posterior fossa operations. Wound complications such as CSF leak, infection, pseudomeningocele, and aseptic meningitis were noted. Fisher's exact test was performed to assess risk factor association with specific complications. Results : Incisional CSF leak rate was 8.3% and non-incisional CSF leak rate was 3.6%. Incidence of aseptic meningitis was 7.1% and all cases resolved with steroids alone. Incidence of palpable and symptomatic pseudomeningocele in follow-up was 10.7% and 3.6% respectively. Postoperative infection rate was 4.8%. Previous surgery was associated with pseudomeningocele development (p<0.05). Conclusion : When primary dural closure after posterior fossa surgery is undesirable or not feasible, non-watertight dural reconstruction with collagen matrix resulted in incisional CSF leak in 8.3%. Incidence of pseudomeningocele, aseptic meningitis, and wound infection were within acceptable range. Data from this study may be used to compare alternative methods of dural reconstruction in posterior fossa surgery.

아공정, 공정, 과공정 조성의 Al-Cu 주조합금에서의 Y2O3 분말의 분산 거동에 대한 연구 (An Investigation of Dispersion Behavior of Y2O3 Ceramic Particles in Hypo, Eutectic and Hyper Binary Al-Cu Cast Alloys)

  • In this work, the dispersion behavior of $Y_2O_3$ particles in binary aluminum (Al)-copper (Cu) cast alloy was investigated with respect to Cu contents of 20 (hypoeutertic), 33 (eutectic) and 40 (hypereutectic) wt.%. In cases of hypo and hypereutectic compositions, SEM images revealed that the primary Al and ${\theta}$ phases were grown up at the beginning, respectively, and thereafter the eutectic phase was solidified. In addition, it was found that some of $Y_2O_3$ particles can be dispersed into the primary Al phase, but none of them are is observed inside the primary 6 phase. This different dispersion behavior of $Y_2O_3$ particles is probably due to the difference in the val- ues of specific gravity between $Y_2O_3$ particles and primary phases. At eutectic composition, $Y_2O_3$ particles were well dispersed in the matrix since there is few primary phases acting as an impediment site for particle dispersion during solidification. Based on the experimental results, it is concluded that $Y_2O_3$ particles are mostly dispersed into the eutectic phase in binary Al-Cu alloy system.

인지 라디오 시스템에서의 능동적인 간섭 관리 기법 (An Active Interference Management Scheme for Cognitive Radio Systems)

  • 인지 라디오 시스템은 1차 시스템이 사용 중인 주파수를 공유함으로써 지역 당 주파수 이용효율을 향상시킬 수 있는 중요한 기술로 인식되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 2차 시스템이 1차 시스템에 간섭을 미치지 않으며 주파수를 공유할 수 있는 보다 능동적인 간섭 관리 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 프로토콜을 통해 2차 사용자는 1차 시스템의 간섭 채널 정보 및 송 수신 필터 정보를 획득하고 이를 이용하여 프리코딩 행렬을 계산한다. 이때 2차 시스템으로부터의 간섭은 1차 시스템의 사용되지 않는 부채널로 모이기 때문에 1차 시스템은 추가적인 연산 없이 자동적으로 간섭을 제거한다. 그리고 2차 시스템은 백색화 정합 필터를 통해 1차 시스템으로부터의 간섭을 제거함으로써 스펙트럼 효율을 향상시킨다. 전산모의실험을 통해 제안된 기법이 1차 시스템에 간섭을 미치지 않는 동시에 2차 시스템의 성능을 향상시키고, 2차 시스템의 수가 증가하더라도 1차 시스템의 성능이 저하되지 않음을 보였다.

Mg 합금에서 진동감쇠능의 ${\beta}$상 석출 의존성 (Dependence of Damping Capacity on ${\beta}$ Phase Precipitation in Mg Alloy)

  • Changes in microstructure and damping capacity with aging time for solutionized Mg-Al alloy have been investigated. Discontinuous ${\beta}\;(Mg_{17}Al_{12})$ precipitates form along the primary grain boundaries, the amount of which increases as the aging time increases. The hardness of the matrix with respect to aging time shows a typical "S" shape, indicating a generation of fine continuous precipitates in the matrix during the aging. The peak level of damping capacity is obtained after 1 hour of aging, over which the damping capacity becomes deteriorated continuously. The formation of optimum density of continuous ${\beta}$ precipitates with fine morphology which would act as pinning points for dislocation lines, might be responsible for the improvement of damping capacity.

Shotgun Phage Display of Lactobacillus casei BL23 Against Collagen and Fibronectin

  • Lactobacilli are normal constituents of the intestinal microbiota, and some strains show the capacity to bind to extracellular matrix proteins and components of the mucosal layer, which represents an adaptation to persist in this niche. A shotgun phage-display library of Lactobacillus casei BL23 was constructed and screened for peptides able to bind to fibronectin and collagen. Clones showing binding to these proteins were isolated, which encoded overlapping fragments of a putative transcriptional regulator (LCABL_29260), a hypothetical protein exclusively found in the L. casei/rhamnosus group (LCABL_01820), and a putative phage-related endolysin (LCABL_13470). The construction of different glutathione S-transferase (GST) fusions confirmed the binding activity and demonstrated that the three identified proteins could interact with fibronectin, fibrinogen, and collagen. The results illustrate the utility of phage display for the isolation of putative adhesins in lactobacilli. However, it remains to be determined whether the primary function of these proteins actually is adhesion to mucosal surfaces.

  • In experimental situations where n two or three level fac-tors are involoved and n observations are taken then the D-optimal first order saturated design is an $n{\times}n$ matrix with elements $\pm$1 or 0, $\pm$1, with the maximum determinant. Cononical forms are useful for the specification of the non-isomorphic D-optimal designs. In this paper we study canonical forms such as the Smith normal form the first sec-ond and the jordan canonical form of D-optimal designs. Numerical algorithms for the computation of these forms are described and some numerical examples are also given.

Primary Culture of Bovine Capillary Endothelial Cells for In Vitro Angiogenesis Assay

  • In this study, we cultured bovine capillary endothelial cells from adrenal cortex and compared these cells with capillary endothelial cells obtained from bovine adrenal medulla on morphological and cytokinetic properties. We demonstrated that bFGF and gelatin matrix were required for the growth of adrenal cortex-derived capillary endothelial cells over middle passage, but not for the growth of adrenal medulla-derived capillary endothelial cells. Also, we showed that the growth of adrenal cortex-derived capillary endothelial cells must be stimulated by bFGF and the gelatin matrix for the measurement of in vitro angiostatin activity. These data indicate that adrenal cortex-derived capillary endothelial cells over middle passage are more suitable than adrenal medulla-derived capillary endothelial cells for in vitro angiogenesis assay.
