The purpose of this study was to qualitatively analyze pressure intensity and the center of pressure(COP) trajectory according to shoe type. Subjects were ten first-year female university students. The EMED-AT 25/D(Novel, Germany) was used to measure pressure intensity and COP trajectory. The COP Excursion Index(CPEI) was used for within subject test design. Independent variables were bare feet and six types of shoes. Dependent variables were center of pressure trajectory and pressure intensity. Barefeet and five toed shoes had a similar pressure intensity and COP trajectory. COP trajectory for all other shoe types showed a medial wobble at the heel. Pressure intensity for all other shoe types was related to the structure of the shoes. In conclusion, different shoe types can not only affect gait, but they can also influence foot deformities, pain, and dysfunction.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the test-retest of plantar pressures using the F-Scan system over speeds and plantar regions. 6 healthy female subjects in 20's were recruited for the study. Plantar pressure measurements during locomotor activities can provide information concerning foot function, particularly if the timing and magnitude of the loading profile can be related to the location of specific foot structures such as the metatarsal heads. The Tekscan F-Scan system consists of a flexible, 0.18mm thick sole-shape having 1260 pressure sensors, the sensor insole was trimmed to fit the subjects' right. left shoes - sneakers shoes & dress shoes. It was calibrated by the known weight of the test subject standing on one foot. The Tekscan measurements show the insole pressure distribution as a function of the time. This finding has important implications for the development of plantar pressure test protocols where the function of the forefoot is important. According to the result of analysis it is as follows 1) Center of force trajectory in women's dress shoes display direct movement, compare with center of force trajectory in Sneaker shoes displays a little bit curved slow pronation movement. Sneaker shoes in forefoot part display very quick supination movement, therefore, this shoes effects negative effectiveness for ankle's stability Considering center of force trajectory analyzing the more center of force close straight line, the more movement can be quick movement for locomotion. For foot pressure distribution, center of force trajectory in locomotion is better to curved trajectory with pronation movement. So sneaker shoes style is good shoes considering center of pressure distribution trajectory compare with women's dress shoes. 2) Women's dress shoes increased peak pressure in medial, this is effected by high hill's height. The more increased women's dress shoes's height, the more women's peak pressure will increase, pronation can increase compare with before. Supination movement increase, this focused pressure in lateral, also, supination increased more. If the supination movement increased, foot pressure focused in lateral, therefore, it is appeared force distribution in gait direction. This is bad movement in foot's stability. 3) Women's dress shoes in landing phase displayed a long time, this is when women's dress shoes wear, gait movement is unbalance, so, landing phase displayed a long time. For compensation in gait, swing phase quick movement. 4) Women's dress shoes displayed peak pressure distribution in lateral of rearfoot part, Sneakers shoes displayed peak pressure distribution in medial of forefoot part. Its results has good impact absorption compare with women's dress shoes. In forefoot part, sneakers shoes has good propulsive force compare with women's dress shoes.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of two different lifting posture on the plantar foot pressure, force and COP(center of pressure) trajectory path during object lifting. Fourteen healthy adults who had no musculoskeletal disorders were instructed to lift with two postures(stoop and squat) and two object weights(empty box and 10 kg box). Plantar foot pressures, forces and COP trajectory path were recorded by the F-mat system(Tekscan, Boston, USA) during object lifting with barefoot. Plantar foot surface was defined as seven regions for pressure measurement; two toe regions, three forefoot regions, one midfoot region and one heel region. Paired t-test was used to compare the outcomes of peak pressure and maximum force with different two lifting postures and two object weights. Plantar peak pressure and maximum force under hallux was significantly greater in squat posture than stoop posture during the two different boxes lifting(p<.05). During the empty box lifting, maximum force under lessor toes was significantly less and plantar peak pressure under second metatarsal region was significantly greater in squat than stoop(p<.05). Maximum force under heel was significantly less in squat than stoop posture during 10kg box lifting(p<.05). Finally, COP trajectory path was significantly greater in squat than stoop(p<.05). These findings confirm that there are significantly change in the structure and function of the foot during the object lifting with different posture. Future studies should focus on the contribution of both structural and functional change to the development of common foot problems in adults.

Purpose : The purpose of this study was to compare plantar pressure distribution between affected side and unaffected side and to analyze plantar pressure distribution of affected side according to the extent of hemineglect in the adult hemiplegia. Methods : Twenty-five hemiplegia participated in this study. The analysis of plantar pressure distribution was conducted by the F-scan system, and the extent of hemineglect was evaluated with line-bisection test. While the subject walked about 10 meters in their comfortable speed the plantar pressure was evaluated and stored. Results : Total contact area, AP CoP trajectory, contact pressure of mid-foot of the affected side were significantly different from the unaffected side. Total contact area, AP CoP trajectory and contact pressure of mid-foot were smaller than those of unaffected side. In the comparison among the group according to the extent of hemineglect, AP CoP trajectory of subject who has severe hemineglect was significantly different from the patient that has no hemineglect and it was shorter than that of no hemineglect. Conclusion : The plantar pressure distribution was generally different between affected side and unaffected side and the hemineglect affected negatively the patient to move CoP forwardly while walking. Accordingly, it will help the clinician to understand the hemineglect which has an effect on abnormal walking and to intervent the hemiplegia who has a neglection to the affected side.

In this paper are presented TSTO system analysis including some controlled variables on the engine operation such as a fuel flow rate and a pressure ratio of compressor, as well as variables on the trajectory. TSTO studied here is accelerated up to Mach 6 by a fly-back booster powered by air breathing engines. Three different types of engine cycle were treated for propulsion system of the booster, such as a turbo ramjet, a precooled turbojet and an EXpander cycle Air Turbo Ramjet (ATREX). The history of the controlled variables on the engine operation was optimized by Sequential Quadratic Programming (SQP) to accomplish the minimum fuel consumption. The trajectory was also optimized simultaneously. The results showed that the turbo ramjet gave the best fuel consumption. The optimal trajectory was almost the same except in the transonic range and just before reaching to Mach 6. The history of the pressure ratio of compressor considerably depended on the engine type. It is concluded that simultaneous optimization for engine control and trajectory is effective especially for a high-speed airplane propelled by turbojets like the TSTO booster.

In this paper, we have proposed a prediction method for sabot-trajectory of projectile using high speed camera data analysis. Through analyzing trajectory of sabot with high speed camera data, we can extract its real velocity and acceleration including effects of friction force, pressure of flume, etc. Using these data, we suggest a prediction method for sabot-trajectory of projectile having variable acceleration, especially for minimum and maximum acceleration, by using interpolation method for velocity and acceleration data of sabot. Also we perform the projectile launching tests to achieve the trajectory of sabot in case of minimum and maximum thrust. Simulation results show that they are similar to real tests data, for example velocity, acceleration and the trajectory of sabot.
A CFD analysis method is developed and applied for investigating the gas flow and the byproduct particle trajectory in Roots type vacuum pump. The internal fluid flow and thermal fields between the rotors and the housing of vacuum pump are analyzed by using the dynamic mesh, the numerical methods for unsteady 2-D Navier-Stokes equation and the standard k-$\varepsilon$ turbulence model of the Fluent code. Coupled with the flow simulation results, the particle trajectory of the byproduct flowing into the pump with gas stream is analyzed by using discrete phase modeling technique. The CFD analysis results show the pressure, the velocity and the temperature distributions in pump change abruptly due to the rotation of rotors, and back flows are produced due to the strong reverse pressure gradients at rotor/rotor and rotor/housing clearances. The predicted byproduct particle trajectory results also show the particles impinge on the clearance surfaces between the housing and the rotor of pump and then may form the deposit layer causing the failure of pump.
This paper proposes a center of plantar foot pressure (CoP) trajectory estimation method based on Gaussian process regression, with the aim to show robust results regardless of the regions and numbers of FSRs of the insole sensor. This method can bring an interpolation between the measurement points inside the wearable insole sensor, and two experiments are conducted for performance evaluation. For this purpose, the input data used in the experiment are generated in three types (13 FSRs, 8 FSRs, 5 FSRs) according to the regions and numbers of FSRs. First, the estimation results of the CoP trajectory are compared using Gaussian process regression and weighted mean. As a result of each method, the estimation results of the two methods were similar in the case of 13 FSRs data. On the other hand, in the case of the 8 and 5 FSRs data, the weighted mean varies depending on the regions and numbers of FSRs, but the estimation results of Gaussian process regression showed similar results in spite of reducing the regions and numbers. Second, the estimation results of the CoP trajectory based on Gaussian process regression during several gait cycles are analyzed. In five gait cycles, the previous cycle and the current estimation results are compared, and it was confirmed that similar trajectories appeared in all. In this way, the method of estimating the CoP trajectory based on Gaussian process regression showed robust results, and stability was confirmed by yielding similar results in several gait cycles.

In this paper, we have calculated a formular for sabot-trajectory of shipboard projectile including ship motion and generated trajectory-range function for analysing interference with structure of naval ship. We make formula to approximate the ship motion data of naval ship using optimization technique. Through this formula, we calculate the velocities and accelerations of sabot caused by ship motion(surge, sway, heave, roll, pitch, yaw) and then, we produce the formula about the trajectory of sabot including effects of ship motion in addition to previous study which had considered the effects of the pressure of flume, friction force, etc. To investigate interference with ship structures, we make the trajectory-range functions and then extract the nearest or farthest trajectory to ship structure. Through these data, we can conform whether the interference is happened or not.

In this study, spray characteristics research of steady/pulsed injection in crossflow was performed experimentally in the model ramjet combustor. High-speed-camera photography was performed through a visualization window of model combustor, and then, steady and pulsed spray structures were observed and analyzed. Varying influx air temperature and fuel species, we could obtain the trajectory correlation in the steady injection case. In the experiment of pulsed injection, it is found that the pulsed frequency hardly influences spray trajectory. Also, it is found that, in the same injection pressure differential, the trajectory correlation of steady condition can be used for estimating pulsed spray trajectory.
