  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how student felt the strengths and shortness of presentation methods for formation of interior spaces. For this study, the process of the interior architecture design class was divided into three stages: the programming. the design development, and the design completion. In the design development stage, students used presentation methods: hand sketch, scale model, computer modeling, and virtual realty. The strengths of hand sketch was that quick expression. Models provided three-dimensional feelings. Computer modelling provide realistic color and texture. Virtual reality provided three-dimensional immersion and real scale. It is effective that students collect brain storm images using quick hand sketch in the beginning of design development stage. After that, they compose interior spaces in study models with small scale. Watching the models, they design details of spaces by using hand sketch and computer modelling. Using virtual reality, they can check the scale and circulation. Finally, they complete computer modelling by texture mapping and check the final design in virtual reality.

  • The implementation of iris biometrics on smartphone devices has recently become an emerging research topic. As the use of iris biometrics on smartphone devices becomes more widely adopted, it is to be expected that there will be similar efforts in the research community to beat the biometric by exploring new spoofing methods and this will drive a corresponding requirement for new liveness detection methods. In this paper we addresses the problem of presentation attacks (Spoofing) against the Iris Recognition System on mobile devices and propose novel Presentation Attack Detection (PAD) method which suitable for mobile environment.

  • The concept of a hyper-presentation, as an extension of a hypermedia, is the presentation in which time-varying multimedia presentations are dynamically linked together and a hyperlink's context can be changed over time at any time during a continuous presentation. While this concept provides users with a flexible and powerful presentation for their descriptions of the multimedia datum, inconsistency problems in the synchronized presentations occur by hyper links can be introduced. This paper introduces a method of describing the hyper-presentation using petri-net and propose a methods of checking It's inconsistent hyper link loop in the hyper-presentation description.

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the subjective texture of actual objects and their picture images on the Internet to find out a method to present visual images in order to supply information similar real objects. For this study, seven knit fabrics and four presentation methods of visual images including twice magnifications and two dimensions of 2D and 3D. The results of this study were as follows: There are significant differences among subjective textures evaluated by touching seven fabrics actually and we can verify the effects of fiber contents and loop length of knit on textures. We can find out differences of texture depending on presentation methods. In case of 2D evaluation of knits fabrics, visual images of real size present a little exact information on roughness and heaviness whereas those of twice magnification do roughness, wetness, softness and luster. And 3D images give us more exact information of textures on softness, heaviness and warmness, but rather twice enlarged 3D image can't supply an information of heaviness texture.

  • The factors involved in development of electronic grading systems for commodities such as grains and seeds include determination of the factors that influence the end-product utilization of the commodities, and the degree to which these can be predicted by electronic methods. The possibility of exchanging existing methods of grading by electronic methods has to be considered. The respective merits of techniques such as Digital Imaging and Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy have to be considered. Digital Imaging is a computerized version of visual inspection and grading, whereas NIR spectroscopy has the potential for grading on the basis of composition and functionality, Selection and evaluation of NIR instruments is an important factor, as are sampling and sample presentation to electronic instruments, and particularly the engineering involved in sample presentation. Sample assembly, and software for calibration development are described in the presentation. Finally the impact and implications of introduction of electronic grading are discussed with particular attention to marketing of the commodities.

  • In the area of speech processing, raw signals used to be presented into 2D format. However, such kind of presentation methods have limitation to extract characteristics from the signal because of the presentation method. Generally, not much information can be detected from the 2D signal. Strange attractor in the field of chaos theory provides a 3D presentation method. In the area of recognition problem, signal presentation method is very important because good features can be detected from a good presentation. This paper discusses a new feature extraction method that extracts features from a cycle of the strange attractor. A neural network is used to check whether the method extracts suitable features or not. The result shows very good points that can be applied to some areas of signal processing.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop a lecture on oral presentation and to evaluate changes in anger expression, assertive behavior, and self-esteem after lecture on oral presentation. Methods: The design was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The participants were university students in nursing, of which 17 were assigned to the experimental group and 15 to the control group. The education was carried out for 2 hours, once a week for 14 weeks. Data was analyzed with SPSS/WIN 14 program, and included chi-square test, independent t-test, and repeated measure ANOVA. Results: Lecture on oral presentation showed significant differences in the changes of anger expression (F=10.122, p=.003) and assertive behavior (F=8.498, p=.007). Conclusion: Findings suggest that this lecture on oral presentation was effective in changing students' anger expression and assertive behavior. Therefore this lecture on oral presentation is recommended for inclusion in education for university students in nursing.

  • This paper presents a method to design the integrated system for supporting both multimedia contents creation and its presentation in a windows system. Especially, it describes techniques for designing an integrated editor that can be used to crate and edit various media data including continuous media such as audio and video. And it also proposes a system model for systematically integrating multimedia creation tool with multimedia presentation system where the buffering and scenario-based presentation methods are included in the propose system for supporting effective multimedia presentation through a network. Finally, we describe a threads processing technique based on event monitoring to satisfy needs for presentation control, synchronization control, and user's input control during a multimedia presentation.

  • The purpose of this second one of the two consecutive papers, which carried out for the research, is to evaluate their relative effectiveness regarding instruction with such three presentation methods as video/print+ lecture, print/video, print+lecture/video, with which the library of Duk Sung Women's University applied already for the orientation of the freshmen in 1988. In sum, the major research findings are as follows : First, as the more numerous media were applied for the orientation, the instruction were more effective. Second, it is very interesting to find out that there were wide differences in effectiveness among the three presentation methods applied for the student. Especially, the print+ lecture/video method was more effective in the instruction than the print/video method. Surprisingly, the video/print + lecture method was much more effective than the print+ lecture/video method. With the research findings of this two consecutive papers into consideration, it seems safe to say that the video-tape method was most effective among such three orienting methods as lecture, slide-tape, and video tape, and the video/print+lecture method was most effective among such three presentation methods as video/print+lecture, print/video, and print+lecture/video.
