  • As processor design has been transiting from homogeneous multicore processor to heterogeneous multicore processor, traditional Amdahl's law cannot meet the new challenges for asymmetric multicore system. In order to further investigate the impact factors related to the Overhead of Data Preparation (ODP) for Asymmetric multicore systems, we evaluate an asymmetric multicore system built with CPU-GPU by measuring the overheads of memory transfer, computing kernel, cache missing and synchronization. This paper demonstrates that decreasing the overhead of data preparation is a promising approach to improve the whole performance of heterogeneous system.

  • Lincomycin, a selective tyrosinase blocker, has been thought to be effective in the treatment of melanogenesis, ephelis, post inflammatory pigmentation, and facial discoloration. In an attempt to develop a transdermal perparation for lincomycin, this study was designed to examine the appropriate contents of various surfactants and ethanol in the cream preparation. Frans type diffusion cell was used to investigate permeation efficiency of the preparation, and lincomycin in the receptor phase was measured by HPLC. After having a 1.5 hrs of leg time, the permeability of lincomycin was rapidly increased by adding surfactants, and varied with different types of surfactants after 10 hrs, the permeability of Brij 56$^{(R)}$ preparation (501.4$\pm$45 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mι) was greater than that either of Labrasol$^{(R)}$ (263.9$\pm$33.7 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mι) or Tween$^{(R)}$20(386.2$\pm$26.7 $\mu\textrm{g}$/mι). Ethanol also increased the permeability of lincomycin.mycin.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of an educational video program on bowel preparation for a colonoscopy. Methods: The study used a non-equivalent control group and non-synchronized design as a quasi-experimental research involving 101 participants undergoing bowel preparation for a colonoscopy (experimental group 51, control group 50 subjects) at W. university hospital, from Aug. 7 to Oct. 31, 2013. The control group received verbal education with an explanatory note while the experimental group received education using a video program. To measure knowledge of diet restrictions and compliance with ingesting bowel preparation solutions, a questionnaire, based on The Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy's Guide (2003), developed by Sam-Sook You, was used after revisions and supplementation was done. To measure bowel cleanness, the 'Aronchick Bowel Preparation Scale' was adopted. Data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Results: A higher proportion of the experimental group showed a positive change in knowledge level on diet restrictions (U=1011.50, p =.035) and ingestion of bowel preparation solutions (U=980.50, p =.019), a higher level of compliance with diet restrictions (U=638.50, p <.001), ingesting bowel preparation solutions (U=668.00, p <.001) and the level of bowel cleanness (${\chi}^2$=17.00, p <.001) than the control group. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that a video educational program for patients having a colonoscopy can improve knowledge, level of compliance with diet restrictions, ingestion of bowel preparation solutions, and bowel cleanness. Therefore video educational program should be used with this patient group.

  • This is an introduction to an art of digital hardware design using polymachine image as a target structure of the product. As in the case of software design of a computer, the design process begins with a sketch of planned system in flow chart description and the flow charts is partitioned into divergent elements. Each of the element machine is derived from those divergent elements. We can build a complete digital system with the preparation of an index, and a polymer of these element machines.

  • Silibinin(silybin) is the active component of silymarin from Silybum marianum and has hepato-protective effect. It is water-insoluble and has low bioavailability. To improve its bioavailability, self-micro-emulsifying drug delivery system (SMEDDS) has been developed by Hanmi Pharmaceutical Company (Silyma $n^{R}$ 140 soft capsule). In this study, the pharmacokinetic profiles of Silyma $n^{R}$ were examined and compared it with a reference preparation, L Caps140 of B Pharmaceutical Company. This study was approved by Yonsei University Severance Hospital IRB(approval No. CR0004) and followed the bioequivalence test guideline of Korean FDA. Eighteen healthy adult volunteers were allocated based on 2$\times$2 Latin square cross-over design. They were given 2 capsules (each contains silymarin 140 mg (60 mg as silibinin)) of either drug at each period and crossed over after a week of drug-free washout period. Blood concentration of silibinin was measured by HPLC. The $C_{max}$ and AUC of the Silyma $n^{R}$ were 1542.0 $\pm$ 402.7 ng/ml and 3323.3 $\pm$ 824.7 ng.h/ml, respectively, and were significantly higher than those of reference preparation. The Tmax was 0.8 $\pm$ 0.3 h and significantly shorter than reference preparation. The $K_{e}$ and $T_{1}$2/ of both drugs were comparable. Percent differences in means against reference preparation were +88.3% for AUC, +222.6% for $C_{max}$, and -61.1% for $T_{max}$./.>././.>./.
