구조용강 용접부 CGHAZ의 상변태 예측 Modeling에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Prediction Modeling of Phase Transformation in the CGHAZ of Structural Steel Weld)

  • The microstructures of the HAZ (Heat Affected Zone) are generally different from the base metal due to rapid thermal cycle during welding process. Particuraly, CGHAZ (Coarsened Grain Heat Affected Zone) near the fusion line is the most concerned region in which many metallurgical and mechanical discontinuities have been normally generated. A computer program by the numerical formularization of phase transformation during cooling with different rates was developed to generate the CCT diagram, and to predict microstructural (phase) changes in the CGHAZ. In order to verify simulated results, isothermal and continuous cooling transformation experiments were conducted. The simulated and experimental results showed that the developed computer model could successfully predict the room temperature microstructural changes (changes in volume fraction of phases) under various welding conditions (heat input & cooling rate $(Δt_{8/5})$).

  • The basic prediction model was constructed to obtain optimal maintenance method for concrete structure under marine environment by exploring the mechanism of mono and combined deterioration in lab. This model was planned to be upgraded with data acquired from several exposure specimens under same environment as structures. The computer program developed to give useful guidance observer would be improved. Several repair materials and repair construction methods applied to exposure specimens will be tested for its performance of prohibit salt attack and freezing & thawing action during experimental period about ten years. All of these data could be available to complete the prediction system. The manager will be able to use the system for optimal maintenance of marine concrete structures.

  • PMS(Pavement Management System) is the effective and efficient decision making system to provide pavements in an acceptable condition at the lowest life-cycle cost. Comparison of Measured and Predicted Daylight Illuminances in Two Underground Spaces

  • Daylight simulation methods play an important role for the prediction of daylight illuminances in underground spaces. This daylighting project is designed to compare daylight prediction methods for the application of large underground spaces. In this study, actual measurements were conducted under overcast and clear sky conditions. Also, computer simulations by Radiance, Superlite IEA 2.0 program and scale model testings were conducted to be compared with measured data. Simulation results show the data by Radiance, Superlite IEA 2.0 and the scale model are similar to the measured data in two underground spaces in Seoul. Overall results show that Radiance and superlite IEA 2.0 proved to be useful to predict daylight illuminances even in big underground spaces.

  • This paper presents an analytical prediction of the prestress losses of prestressed concrete bridges. In this study a numerical procedure and computer program is developed to analyze the behavior of prestressed concrete bridges considering the time-dependent properties of material. It accounts for the aging, creep and shrinkage of concrete and the stress relaxation of prestressed steel. The structural model uses two dimensional plane frame elements with three nodal degree of freedom and is analyzed based on the finite element method. Member cross section can consist of concrete, reinforcement and prestressing steel. Two different set of equations for the prediction of time-dependent material properties of concrete are presented, which are ACI, CEB-FIP. The proposed numerical method for the prestress losses of prestressed concrete bridges is verified by comparison with reliable experimental results.

평블록의 용접변형예측 시뮬레이터 (Simulator for Weld-Induced Deformation Prediction of Panel blocks)

  • This paper is concerned with the simulator to estimate deformation due to welding of panel blocks. An efficient computer program system has been developed which can be applied to estimation of weld-induced deformation under the given welding conditions. The theoretical background of the present simulator is described with the prediction model for the various type of weld-induced deformation. The developed simulator has been applied to estimation of weld-induced deformation in panel block assembly. This paper ends with some findings from applying the developed simulator.

  • 광범위한 이론적, 실험적 연구를 통하여 개발된 모선 선형을 확장하여 저속 비대선에 대한 15개의 Series 선형을 준비하고, 그 각각에 대한 모형 시험을 수행하였다. 모형시험에 의하여 저항 추진에 대한 체계적인 자료를 마련하였으며 이러한 자료에 대한 통계적인 분석에 의하여 저항 추진 특성을 추정하기 위한 회귀 방정식을 유도하였다. 또한 유도된 방정식을 활용하여 전산 프로그램을 준비하였으며 그 응용예를 들었다.

  • A computer program was developed for the prediction of transient flow in a water supply system. where an air chamber is installed to reduce the water hammering. The governing equations based on a characteristic method are solved using a finite difference method. A design process of an air chamber is shown in the present paper considering the effects of the initial air volume and the discharge coefficients of the orifice on the total volume and over-all performance of the chamber.

  • The non-linear properties of rubber material which are described as strain energy function are important parameter to design and evaluate of rubber spring. These are determined by material tests which are uni-axial tension and bi-axial tension. The computer simulation using the nonlinear element analysis program executed to predict and evaluate the load capacity and stiffness for chevron spring. In order to investigate the heat-aging effects on the rubber material properties, the acceleration test were carried out. Compression set results changes as the threshold are used for assessment of the useful life and time to threshold value were plotted against reciprocal of absolute temperature to give the Arrhenius plot. By using the compression set test, several useful life prediction for rubber material were proposed.

  • In order to observe the thermal behavior of oil immersed power transformers the temperature rise prediction algorithm and monitoring system were developed. The algorithm is formulated into a computer program based on the TNM (Thermal Network Method) which was divided into several elements, and the temperature of each element was calculated according to each time lapse. A monitoring system can show the real time active part temperatures of the transformer under various electric loads and for any types of thermal environment.
