  • This study was conducted to investigate changes in posture and muscle characteristics by applying mat pilates and kinesio taping to college students with round shoulder posture and to investigate effective interventions. Subjects were 28 men and women with a round shoulder posture, and they were randomly assigned to a mat pilates group (MPG, n=14) and a Kinesio taping group (KTG, n=14). Each group performed the intervention for 4 weeks, and the distance from the ground to the acromion(DGA) and muscle characteristics (F: Frequency; S: Stiffness; D: Decrement) were measured before and after the intervention. Independent T-test was performed for the difference in the amount of change between groups, and the paired-sample T-test was performed for the difference between pre-post values within the group. Statistical significance level was set as 𝛼=.05. As a result of measuring the change in DGA in both groups, it was significantly decreased in MPG (p<.05). As a result of measuring the change in muscle characteristics of the two groups, the change in F in TL was significantly increased in MPG (p<.05), there was no change in TG, and the amount of change in MPG was larger in the amount of change between the two groups. appeared (p<.05). The change in S was significantly increased in MPG (p<.05). Therefore, the mat pilates conducted in this study is considered to be an effective intervention for improving the round shoulder posture and changing the muscle characteristics than kinesio taping.

  • The capital structure of the shipping business, which is characterized by its capital intensity and extreme market volatility, is closely related to long-term stability. Research in this area has been conducted mostly in the form of deriving the determinants of capital structure from company-wise financial ratios. This research, on the other hand, has a different approach to the topic. It identifies the relationship between actual cash profit and loss and other variables - i.e. actual vessel prices, interest rates and leverage ratio - by employing historical simulation. The result demonstrates that the P anamax cash profit shows 0 (break-even point) when the debt weight reaches 64.38% (debt ratio 180.74%) and the Cape, 73.04% (debt ratio 270.92%). Additionally, the ships of different types show a divided pattern for the pre- and post-'Super Boom'. It indicates that the business area and the market cycle should be considered when a leverage strategy is established. This research benefits shipping companies set a rational leverage strategy as well as delivers a reasonable guideline to government authorities for the development of a sound policy on shipping finance.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the change of body temperature and pain by application of Gaussian magnetic for the elderly delayed muscle pain. For the purpose, we selected 15 elderly women(age;$69.47{\pm}1.60$) and conducted repeated experiments. The Gaussian magnetic field area was divided into three areas (1000G, 1500G, 2000G). The applying arbitrarily manufactured magnetic field wristbands changes of body heat and pain before and after wearing Gaussian magnetic were measured and collected data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0. To examine the pre-and post-treatment differences by treatment areas, we conducted paired t-test. Group differences and interaction effects were analyzed using two-way ANOVA and Duncan post hoc tests. The significance level was set to ${\alpha}=.05$. The results are as follows. The change of body heat by the Gaussian magnetic field area showed significant differences in all three groups(P<.05). There were also significant differences in the results of group interactions and in the delayed muscle pain scale between groups(P<.05). The area with the largest difference appeared in the area of 1500G field. The 1000G-1500G Gauss field is considered to be the most ideal magnetic field for body heat and muscle pain changes. In conclusion, the Gaussian magnetic field of 1000G-1500G may affect body temperature and muscle pain in the elderly, and may have a significant impact on the quality of life in old age.

  • PET-CT improves performance and reduces the time by combining PET and CT of spatial resolution, and uses CT scan for attenuation correction. This study analyzed PET image evaluation. The condition of the tube voltage and current of CT will be changed using. Uniformity phantom and resolution phantom were injected with 37 MBq $^{18}F$ (fluorine ; 511 keV, half life - 109.7 min), respectively. PET-CT (Biograph, siemens, US) was used to perform emission scan (30 min) and penetration scan. And then the collected image data were reconstructed in OSEM-3D. The same ROI was set on the image data with a analyzer (Vinci 2.54, Germany) and profile was used to analyze and compare spatial resolution and image quality through FWHM and SI. Analyzing profile with pre-defined ROI in each phantom, PET image was not influenced by the change of tube voltage or exposure dose. However, CT image was influenced by tube voltage, but not by exposure dose. When tube voltage was fixed and exposure dose changed, exposure dose changed too, increasing dose value. When exposure dose was fixed at 150 mA and tube voltage was varied, the result was 10.56, 24.6 and 35.61 mGy in each variables (in resolution phantom). In this study, attenuation image showed no significant difference when exposure dose was changed. However, when exposure dose increased, the amount of dose that patient absorbed increased too, which indicates that CT exposure dose should be decreased to minimum to lower the exposure dose that patient absorbs. Therefore future study needs to discuss the conditions that could minimize exposure dose that gets absorbed by patient during PET-CT scan.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out how underwater rehabilitation exercises affect physical fitness and blood lipids for 10 weeks and provide basic data to help prevent middle-aged women from cardiovascular diseases. The subjects of this study were middle-aged women living in Seoul, Korea. The underwater rehabilitation exercise was performed for 1 week and 3 times for 10 weeks, and the exercise time was 60 minutes for 1 time including the warm up, the main exercise and the cool down. The exercise intensity was set at 60-70% of the heart rate reserve calculated from the pre-exercise test. The measurement variables were physical fitness and blood lipid. In the data processing, descriptive statistics were presented for each measurement item and a 2-way RGRM ANOVA was conducted to examine the interaction effects between groups. The results have shown significant interaction effects in physical fitness(Flexibility, Cardiorespiratory Endurance, Muscular Endurance) and the blood lipids(TG, TC, HLD-C, LDL-C). This study found that the 10-week underwater rehabilitation exercise program of middle-aged women increased physical fitness level and decreased and increased blood lipid, which could be an effective and convergent program to prevent and reduce cardiovascular disease.

  • One of the Cooperative Intelligent Transportation System(C-ITS) priority services is collision prevention support service. Several studies have considered V2I2V communication-based collision prevention support services using Artificial Neural Networks(ANN). However, such services still show some issues due to a low penetration of C-ITS devices and large delay, particularly when loading massive traffic data into the server in the C-ITS center. This study proposes the Artificial Neural Network-based Collision Warning Service(ACWS), which allows upstream vehicle to update pre-determined weights involved in the ANN by using real-time sectional traffic information. This research evaluates the proposed service with respect to various penetration rates and delays. The evaluation result shows the performance of the ACWS increases as the penetration rate of the C-ITS devices in the vehicles increases or the delay decreases. Furthermore, it reveals a better performance is observed in more advanced ANN model-based ACWS for any given set of conditions.

  • In recent years, the need for ship-to-ship has emerged around the world as the volume of tanker carriers increases. In the case of STS mooring, a safety review should be carried out on other standards since the characteristics are different from the mooring at a typical wharf. However, there is no separate standard about STS in Korea. Therefore, in this study, STS mooring simulation and sensitivity analysis were performed using OPTIMOOR program, a commercial numerical analysis program, to identify STS mooring characteristics. The target sea area is modeled at D2 anchorage of Yeosu Port in Korea, and modeling of the target ship is selected as the case of VLCC-VLCC. Based on this, we tried to establish the standard for STS mooring safety evaluation. Numerical simulation results show that the STS mooring changes depending on the ship load condition, weather condition(wave period and wave height), encounter angle and pre-tension of mooring line. In addition, a risk matrix was created to set the safe external force range in the sea area. It is expected that the mooring characteristics of the STS can be grasped by this result and contribute to the revision of the mooring safety assessment standard.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of circulation exercise on health related fitness and metabolic syndrome risk factors obese in middle age women. Twenty, obese middle age women($BMI<25kg/m^2$) composed of circulation exercise group(EX, n=10), the control group(CON, n=10). The variables of health related fitness, metabolic syndrome risk factors were measured in all the subjects before the start and after the end of 12 week circulation exercise program(60~80 %HRR, 3 times per week, 30~40 mins). The test data were analyzed by paired t-test and repeated ANOVA, and the alpha level of p<.05 was set for all tests of significance. Health related fitness and metabolic syndrome risk factors were measured pre and 12 weeks of post exercise training. %body fat(p <.01) was significantly decreased in EX group compared to CON group. LBM(p <.05), muscular endurance(p <.05), flexibility(p <.05) and cardiorespiratory endurance(p <.001) were significantly increased in EX group compared to CON group. WC(p <.05), SBP(p <.01), DBP(p <.05), Glucose(p <.05) and TG(p <.05) were significantly decreased in EX group compared to CON group. HDL-C(p <.01) was significantly increased in EX group compared to CON group. These results suggest that 12 weeks of circulation exercise training improves health related fitness and metabolic syndrome risk factors. Thus, this newly proposed circulation exercise modality can be a useful therapy to improve both health related fitness and metabolic syndrome risk factors in obese middle age women.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study was to propose a standardized guideline for clinical training courses among dental hygiene departments of colleges in Korea. This study comparatively evaluated periods and durations of the curricula and specific domains, credits and hours of clinical training classes, and institutions providing practical lessons, and calculated the total credits and hours. Methods: From August 15 to September 15, 2017, a literature review was conducted in dental hygiene departments of 82 schools around the country in order to investigate the current conditions of clinical training in each educational system. Furthermore, 5 colleges were selected from each type of educational system, and their credits and hours for clinical training were analyzed in subjects of practical training for clinical dental hygiene, practical training for dental clinic, practical training for local community dental health, clinical training, and pre-clinical level practical training. The total credits and hours were calculated on the basis of analysis results. Results: The findings revealed that the hours of clinical training classes and hours per credit for practical training in the dental hygiene departments as well as the practical training institutions varied between the colleges. In some cases, the hours of practical training were not indicated. Standardized clinical training in the dental hygiene department was allotted 675 hours, whereas practical training in local community dental health studies was allotted 105 hours, which totaled to 780 allotted hours. Conclusions: There was a significant difference among the colleges in terms of the current conditions of clinical training in the dental hygiene department. The literature review revealed that a total of 780 hours was allotted to clinical training, and this was significantly more than the standard (500 hours) set by the. Moreover, these clinical training hours were lower than in advanced countries or other health and medical treatment occupations. Therefore, efficient improvement is required in order to provide a timely guideline for clinical training.

  • Objective: This study aims to verify the conventional deadlift motions using by two different grips, thereby elucidating the grounds for effective training methods that can minimize the risk of injury. Method: Total of 18 healthy young adults were recruited for this study (age: 25.11±2.19 yrs., height: 175.67±5.22 cm, body mass: 78.5±8.09 kg, 1-RM: 125.75±19.48 kg). All participants were asked to perform conventional deadlift with two types of grips which are overhand grip (OG) and underhand grip (UG). In each grip, participant perform the deadlift with 50% and 80% of the pre-measured 1-RM. A 3-dimensional motion analysis with 8 infrared cameras and 3 channels of EMG was performed in this study. A two-way ANOVA (group × load) with repeated measure was used for statistical verification. The significant level was set at α=.05. Results: There were significant differences in grip type and weight on the right shoulder joint, and only significant difference in grip on the left shoulder joint (p<.05). The hip joint ROM was significantly increased as the weight increased in both types of grips on phase 1, while the ROM of hip joint was significantly decreased as the weight increased only in the case of OG on phase 2 (p<.05). In case of the OG, as the weight, increased significantly increased L1 ROM and L3 ROM were revealed on phase 1 and phase 2, respectively (p<.05). Moreover, as the weight increased, UG revealed significantly decreased L5 ROM on phase 1, while both grips showed significantly increased ROM on phase 2 (p<.05). In addition, the erector spinae and the biceps femoris, which are synergist for the motion, showed a significant difference in both types of grip according to the weight (p<.05). The muscle activity ratio of gluteus maximus/biceps femoris showed a significant difference only in the UG according to the weight (p<.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, beginners might be suggested to use the UG for maintaining the neutral state of the lumbar spine and focus on the gluteus maximus muscle, which is the main activation muscle. For the experts, it may recommend alternative use of the OG and UG according to the training purpose to minimize the compensation effect.
