A great number of firms have used overall equipments effectiveness index to evaluate the effect of TPM activities. Overall equipments effectiveness is very useful index to emphasize the need of decreasing equipments loss time when TPM system is first implemented. And it is powerful to evaluate prductivity growth rate according to TPM activities when GNP growth rate is high level. However, during the depression period, the increase of overall equipments effectiveness does not contribute fully to the cost down, the reason is that demand is falling. In this paper, we present the rectified TPM activities which can be applied to the depression period, and analysis the improvement activities of production part how to contribute to the cost down,

The study was conducted to project supply and demand of the nurses till year 2010 based on analysis of supply and demand of nurses up to year 1991. Results of the study will provide invaluable information for nurses manpower planning as well as overall health manpower planning for the 21th century. It is projected that nurses will be oversupplied based on the current prductivity which is undesirable situation if the quality of care is considered, and undersupplied based on the the medical law as well as optimal productivity. Thus, it is desirable to increase active supply of nurses. One of the ways of increasing active supply would be increasing the size of training and education. But, considering low employment rate of nurses which is about 59% better way of solving problems related to nurses shortage would be improvement in nurses' employment rate. According to simulation study done as part of this study, if nurses' employment rate goes up to 80%, there is no need for increasing the size of training to meet the demand at the level of medical law.

컨테이너를 이용한 해상운송이 본격적으로 시작되면서 컨테이너선의 크기는 꾸준히 증가하고 있으며 최근에는 24,000TEU급 선박의 운항이 일반화되어 있다. 하지만, 최근 이러한 초대형 컨테이너 선박의 등장에 따른 효율성 및 생산성이 항만의 운영 관점에서 타당한지에 대한 의문도 지속적으로 제기되고 있다. 2022년 제10회 부산국제항만컨퍼런스에서는 글로벌 주요 정기선사들의 초대형 컨테이너 선박의 발주 현황을 분석하여 소강상태에 접어든 컨테이너 선박의 대형화 추세에 대한 심층적인 연구를 요구하였다. 일반적으로 선박 대형화 요인은 TEU당 운송 비용을 낮추는 규모의 경제 실현이며 이는 단일선박으로 대량의 화물을 수송함으로써 단위당 운송비용의 절감과 운송의 효율증가에 비해 연료 소모량의 증가가 낮아 단위당 운송비용의 절감 수준이 높아지기 때문이다. 하지만, 과연 항만의 측면에서 이러한 컨테이너 선박의 대형화 추세가 항만 운영에 있어서 타당성을 지니고 있는지에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 선형별 생산성 및 효율성을 비교·분석하여 항만 운영에 있어 선박 대형화의 효과를 평가한다.
