  • Practical Mathematics is one of the career elective subjects in the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum for high school. This study examined how well the practical mathematics textbooks reflect the recommendations and visions suggested by related professions and organizations with respect to career preparation, especially for students enrolling in engineering industry-focused specialized high schools. Also, this study looked more closely into the contents of practical mathematics in terms of the consistency among different textbooks and the advancement from middle school contents in similar domains.

  • The integration of mathematics education is required Fundamentally discussion about the nature and purpose of mathematics education. After the theoretical discussion of that, Practical approach of that can be correctly realized. However, It is the impression that theoretical discussions and practical action about the current discourse about integration in mathematics education are the wrong order. To understand the practical action for the integrated approach in mathematics education, theoretical discussion of the integrated approach of mathematical education is properly required.

  • Emthusiasm about the introduction of computers into mathematics education is widespred. But, the perspectives about the relationship between mathematics education and computer are diverse. The purpose of this study is to examine theoretical background for using computers in mathematics education. In spite of the pedagogical possibilities of computers. only a small minority of mathematics teachers are using computers in mathematics classroom. It is natural to seek this obstacles within theoretical background of the teachers who manage computers, In this study, We discuss the problems in the two sides. First, due to increased computer activity, relationship of mathematics in school with mathematics in society is changing. It is tension between academic mathematics and practical mathematics. School mathematics have to be changed toward stressing practical mathematics. Second problem is the dialectical relationship between the individual and the collective. While maintaining a respect for the individuality of student contributions. We take into account the social dimension of mathematical meaning-making. We discussed theoretical clarification of work collaborative learning. We propose the case study for the roles of computer in collaborative mathematics learning.

  • In this paper, we present a practical Mittag Leffler stability for fractional-order nonlinear systems depending on a parameter. A sufficient condition on practical Mittag Leffler stability is given by using a Lyapunov function. In addition, we study the problem of stability and stabilization for some classes of fractional-order systems.

  • This paper is composed of computer programs and practical examples for the education of mathematics. The Animation package in the Mathematica standard packages is the Graphics Animation. Animations are the ways which produce a sequence of different pictures by rapid succession. The command Animate has a number of options such as Animate, SpinShow and ShowAnimation. Mathematica is available for a large variety of practical education of mathematics. The method in this report are familiar with the general principles of operating the computer in Mathematica 3.0. In this paper there a set of useful examples of mathematical education and we discusses some of the advanced technique for the Input-Output systems.

  • There has been a lively discussion on improving Korean students' academic achievement and the imbalance in their recognition of the value of mathematics. In this context, there is a need for a program that enables the majority students who regards mathematics as a subject for the entrance examination to recognize the practicality and historicity of mathematics. Educational books on mathematics in everyday life or the history of mathematics are also expected to serve as an effective tool. In addition, Web 2.0 Map is another means of representing mathematics in everyday life and the history of mathematics in connection with the practical context. The active storytelling process in which mathematics in the practical context in mathematical educational books is represented in Web 2.0 Map is expected to help to understand in depth the practicality and historicity of mathematics. Nevertheless, mathematical educational books and Web 2.0 Map may lead to a considerable variety of outcomes and speeds if carrying out tasks depending on the student's competence and may have practical difficulties in being operated in class. These concerns, however, can be resolved through the creative activity programs adopted in conformance with the 2009 revised curriculum. Therefore, this study intends to develop a program for creating mathematical story maps through mathematical educational books and the Mashup of Web 2.0 Map in accordance with the process of developing activity programs. This study also intends to determine its effectiveness in enabling students to recognize the practical and historical values of mathematics.

  • A practice is classified into the practice as a content and the practice as a method. The former means that the practical nature of mathematical knowledge itself should be a content of mathematics and the latter means that one should teach the mathematical knowledge in such a way as the practical nature is not damaged. The practical nature of mathematics means mathematician's activity as it is actually done. Activities of the mathematician are not only discovering strict proofs or building axiomatic system but informal thinking activities such as generalization, analogy, abstraction, induction etc. In this study, it is found that the most instructive ones for the future users of mathematics are such practice as content. For the practice as a method, students might learn, by becoming apprentice mathematicians, to do what master mathematicians do in their everyday practice. Classrooms are cultural milieux and microsoms of mathematical culture in which there are sets of beliefs and values that are perpetuated by the day-to-day practices and rituals of the cultures. Therefore, the students' sense of ‘what mathematics is really about’ is shaped by the culture of school mathematics. In turn, the sense of what mathematics is really all about determines how the students use the mathematics they have learned. In this sense, the practice on which classroom instruction might be modelled is that of mathematicians at work. To learn mathematics is to enter into an ongoing conversation conducted between practitioners who share common language. So students should experience mathematics in a way similar to the way mathematicians live it. It implies a view of mathematics classrooms as a places in which classroom activity is directed not simply toward the acquisition of the content of mathematics in the form of concepts and procedures but rather toward the individual and collaborative practice of mathematical thinking.

  • The purposes of this paper are to understand the functions of technology TI92 graphing calculator and to develop some typical examples showing that current Korean secondary school mathematics curriculum can be treated with the technology. This study is consisted with five chapters. In Chapter 1, the background and purposes for this study is described. In Chapter 2, the textbooks developed by Core-plus Mathematics Project to reform mathematics education in the United states are analyzed to find the possibilities for practical uses in mathematics classrooms. In Chapter 3, the functions of TI-92 are analyzed with regard to how they can be applied to mathematics education. In Chapter 4, some examples are developed to show that TI-92 can be used for Korean secondary school mathematics education. Chapter 5 is consisted with summaries of this study and some suggestions for further study.
