  • An analytic axial xenon oscillation model was developed for pressurized water reactor analysis. The model employs an equation system for axial difference parameters that was derived from the two-group one-dimensional diffusion equation with control rod modeling and coupled with xenon and iodine balance equations. The spatial distributions of nu, xenon, and iodine were expanded by the Fourier sine series, resulting in cancellation of the flux-xenon coupled non-linearity. An inhomogeneous differential equation system for the axial difference parameters, which gives the relationship between power, iodine and xenon axial differences in the case of control rod movement, was derived and solved analytically. The analytic solution of the axial difference parameters can directly provide with the variation of axial power difference during xenon oscillation. The accuracy of the model is verified by benchmark calculations with one-dimensional reference core calculations.

  • Recently, there are many difficult for maintenance in the power in established sensor networks. In order to solve this problems, the power development has been interested using vibration in MEMS that insert the MEMS oscillator. In this paper, we propose the MEMS system with Duffing equation to generate vibration signal that can be use power signal in MEMS and confirm and verify the chaotic behaviors in vibration signal of MEMS by computer simulation. As a verification methods, we confirm the existence of period motion and chaotic motion by parameter variation through the time series, phase portrait, power spectrum and poincare map.

  • There are three objectives of this paper. First, we present an elegant and simple generalization of Abel's theorem (i .e. tile Abel summability (on the unit disk of the euclidean plane) is regular). Second, we consider the definition of Abel summability through lim (equation omitted) which immediately has clear connexctions with CeSARO summability and Cesaro sums (equation omitted). This approach examplifies some simple aspects of so-called Tauberian theorems of divergent series. Third, we present the applications of the previous results to find the limits of transition probabilities of homogeneous Marker chain. Finally, we explain why the original Abel's theorem which looks obvious is difficult to be proved, and can not be proved analytically.

  • The local prediction method utilizing embedding vector loses the prediction power when the parameter r estimation is not exact for predicting the chaos time series induced from the high order differential equation. In spite of the fact that there have been a lot of suggestions regarding how to estimate the delay time ($\tau$), no specific method is proposed to apply to any time series. The inclinded linear model, which utilizes inclinded netter, yields satisfying degree of prediction power without estimating exact delay time ($\tau$). The usefulness of this approach has been indicated not only theoretically but also in practical situation when the method w8s applied to economical time series analysis.

  • In this study, based on the three-dimensional theory of elasticity, free vibration characteristics of sandwich sectorial plates with multiwalled carbon nanotube-(MWCNT)-reinforced composite core are considered. Modified Halpin-Tsai equation is used to evaluate the Young's modulus of the MWCNT/epoxy composite samples by the incorporation of an orientation as well as an exponential shape factor in the equation. The exponential shape factor modifies the Halpin-Tsai equation from expressing a straight line to a nonlinear one in the MWCNTs wt% range considered. In this paper, free vibration of thick functionally graded sandwich annular sectorial plates with simply supported radial edges and different circular edge conditions including simply supported-clamped, clamped-clamped, and free-clamped is investigated. A semi-analytical approach composed of two-dimensional differential quadrature method and series solution are adopted to solve the equations of motion. The material properties change continuously through the core thickness of the plate, which can vary according to a power-law, exponentially, or any other formulations in this direction. This study serves as a benchmark for assessing the validity of numerical methods or two-dimensional theories used to analysis of laminated sectorial plates.

  • An analytical solution for long waves propagating over an asymmetric trench is derived. The water depth inside the trench varies in proportion to a power of distance from the center of the trench. The mild-slope equation, governing equation, is transformed into second order ordinary differential equation with variable coefficients by using the long wave assumption and then the analytical solution is obtained by using the power series technique. The analytical solution is confirmed by comparison with the numerical solution. After calculating the analytical solution under various conditions, the results are analyzed.

  • Recent, problems on the voltage-instability have been paid attention in power system and methods to find the limit of voltage-stability, concerned with these problems, were developed. However, these methods are short of precision on the limit of voltage-instability. Here, using the second-order load flow, constraint equation(d Pi/d Vi=0) and its patial differentiations are precisely formulated. Also, since the taylor series expansion of power flow equations terminates at the second-order terms, partial differentiations of constraint equation, that is Hessian, are constant. Then, Hessian matrix are calculated once during iteration process.

  • In this paper, dc link currents for the three-phase diode rectifiers and PWM inverters are analyzed and an algorithm of estimating the life of dc link electrolytic capacitors using the analyzed ripple current is presented. Since the capacitor life is dependent on the operating temperature, the power dissipation in capacitors should be calculated. For this, the ESR(equivalent series resistance) model of the capacitor is derived and ripple currents through the capacitor are analyzed. Relating the power dissipation and the heat transfer equation, the internal operating temperature is calculated. Then, the capacitor life can be predicted by using Arrhenius's equation. An example for applications is given for the practical system.

  • This paper investigates the output powers of PV modules by predicting three unknown parameters: reverse saturation current, and series and shunt resistances. A theoretical model using the non-uniform physical parameters of solar cells, including the temperature coefficients, voltage, current, series and shunt resistances, is proposed to obtain the I-V characteristics of PV modules. The solar irradiation effect is included in the model to improve the accuracy of the output power. Analytical and Newton methods are implemented in MATLAB to calculate a module output. Experimental data of the non-uniform solar cells for both serial and parallel connections are used to extend the implementation of the model based on the I-V equation of the equivalent circuit of the cells and to extend the application of the model to m by n modules configuration. Moreover, the theoretical model incorporates, for the first time, the variations of series and shunt resistances, reverse saturation current and irradiation for easy implementation in real power generation. Finally, this model can be useful in predicting the degradation of a PV system because of evaluating the variations of series and shunt resistances, which are critical in the reliability analysis of PV power generation.
