Aspergillus 속 균주가 생성하는 사독 proteinase에 대한 저해물질- 저해물질의 생산조건 - (Inhibitory Substance Produced by Aspergillus sp. on the Snake Proteinase - Culture Conditions for the Production of Inhibitor -)

  • Aspergillus 속 균주 MK-24로부터 venom proteinase inhibitor의 생산조건을 검토한 결과 질소원으로서는 유기능질소가 균생육에 있어서는 매우 좋았으나 물질생성에 있어서는 무기능질소보다 못하였다. 무기질소원으로서는 sodium nitrate가 가장 좋은 효과를 보였다. 단소원으로서는 glucose가 대부분 당류와 비슷한 결과를 나타내었고 특히 arabitol, xylitol, salicin 등은 본 균주가 단소원으로 사용치 못하는 것으로 추정되었으며, vitamin 류는 물질생성에 무관하였으며 금속염류로서는 효과적인 것은 없으나, Ag$^+$, Co$^{++}$, $Zn^{++}$ 등은 억제하였다. 배양온도와 pH는 각각 3$0^{\circ}C$와 pH 5가 균의 생육과 저해물질생성에 제일 적당하였고, 단소원과 질소원으로서 glucose 2%, NaNo$_3$ 0.3%을 가한 액체배지에서 7일간 정치배양 하였을 때 저해물질생육이 가장 좋았다.

염약침(鹽藥鍼)을 위한 소금의 의학적 효용 (The Effect of Salt in Medicine for Salt Pharmacopuncture)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the effectiveness and availability of salt pharmacopuncture of Korean sun-dried salt and processing salt on the basis of bibliographical review. Methods : This study was done through a narrative review of related bibliography including medical books, journals, general bibliography, and web sites. Results : 1. Korean sun-dried salt is produced in the ground with soil, tiles, and pottery. Sun-dried, traditional, granulated, bamboo, and grilled salts are all appropriate for medical use. They are composed of a lower level of NaCl and unnecessary substances, and have a higher water and mineral content. 2. The 9~30 g of NaCl included in the physiological saline matches the ratio of a normal human body. However, if the saline is used for water supply, it should be improved because the recommended amount is much lower. 3. Medicine that includes NaCl is applied for lessening the congestion of the nasal cavity, alleviating cornea swelling, or for a lack of water. NaCl can also be used for washing contact lenses as well as cleaning the mucous membrane of the eyes and nose. 4. Salt relieves anger, detoxifies, induces vomiting, builds strong muscles and bones, gives energy, slows aging, and ultimately improves health. 5. Salt treats many diseases including: cardiovascular, hematosis, respirometer, obstetric, musculoskeletal, mineral supplement, eye, teeth and skin issues, etc.. However, salt is not used for treating asthma, cough, or other ailments mainly affecting the vascular system. 6. While NaCl in salt absorbs water and the vascular constriction results in higher blood pressure, the pressure induced from salt is actually a physiologically temporary rise. Rather, salt helps remove oil from the body and its potassium lowers blood pressure. Conclusions : It was suggested that salt pharmacopuncture of Korean sun-dried salt and processing salt should be made available for adjusting the physiological salt concentration and control of the Na side effects, therefore it would be useful in the treatment of diseases.

The Analysis of Proximate Composition, Minerals and Amino Acid Content of Red Alga Pyropia dentata by Cultivation Sites

  • In this study, the proximate composition of Pyropia dentata was compared by the analysis of minerals and amino acids that were produced at Seocheon, Chungcheongnam-do and at Wando and Jangheung, Jeollanam-do. Moisture, ash and crude proteins were analyzed using the AOAC method, and crude lipid was analyzed using the Soxhlet method, and inorganic analysis was performed using ICP-OES. Amino acid was used for the amino acid analyzer. The proximate composition analysis, moisture content, maximum values were displayed in Wando while the maximum content of ash appeared at Jangheung's Pyropia. Crude proteins was appeared at Seocheon's Pyropia and the maximum amount of crude lipid, carbohydrate was appeared in Wando's Pyropia. Inorganic analysis, calcium, potassium, magnesium, sodium, phosphorus, cobalt, chromium, copper, iron, manganese, nickel, zinc were analyzed from the Seocheon's Pyropia, however, cobalt, chromium, and nickel was not detected in Wando's Pyropia. For amino acid analysis, a total of 17 amino acids were detected: leucine, valine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, and the amount of alanine accounted for about 57 % of total amino acids(26.1-28.7 %). The proximate composition, minerals, and amino acid of Pyropia dentata were different depending on the coastal ecological habitats.

해안간척지 토양의 생물학적 토성개량에 관한 연구 (제1보) 수종 염생식물에 의한 간 탁지토양의 제염효과에 대하여 (Biological Improvement of Reclaimed Tidal Land (I) Desalination Effects of Saline Soil by the Growth of certain Halophytes)

  • Korea has a lots of margin for security of farm land from her coastal region. The area of saline soil may be reached about 10% of present farm land if the reclamation works are finished. This paper was conducted as a part of studying the possibilities of desalination of saline soil through the experiment of some halophytes. The halophytes in this works were Salicornia herbacea L., Suaeda glauca Bunge, chenopodium acuminatum Willd, and Scirpus triquerter L. Of the above halophytes, Salicornia was proved the most effective plant for desalination of saline soil referring to the following results; 1) The seasonal uptake of chloride by Salicornia was the highest of all. However, the general tendencies of all plants showed a decrease on August. 2) Salinity of soil showed the lowest value on the site where Salicornia was grwon densely. Comparing the other sites grouped by age of saline soil with the above site, the salinity of rice-paddy (10 years after reclamation) is similar to those of the site wehre Salicornia were as well as the 50 cm below the surface soil. 3) The maximum water holding capacity of surface soil appeared in the site of Salicornia, but in 50 cm below the surface, the maximum water holding capacity are almost on equat terms having no connection with the age of saline soil. Soil pH, other chemical compositions such as organic matter, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, and nitrate were determined to elucidate the relationship between the changes of soil properties and chemical uptakes by certain halophytes. It is assumed that the above chemical compositions are frequently affected by the factors such as coastal circulation of salts, exchangeable base, microbial growth, climatic conditions, and irrigation of water.

Characterization of gender-specific bovine serum

  • Animal cell cultures generally require a nutrient-rich medium supplemented with animal serum. Adult bovine serum contains a variety of nutrients including inorganic minerals, vitamins, salts, proteins and lipids as well as growth factors that promote animal cell growth. To evaluate the potential use of gender-specific bovine serum (GSBS) for cell culture, the biochemical properties of male serum (MS), female serum (FS) and castrated-male serum (CMS) were investigated. Overall, the chemical profile of GSBS was similar to that of bovine references except for glucose, creatine kinase, lactate dehydrogenase and potassium. FS showed elevated total protein and sodium concentrations compared to MS and CMS. Proteins present in MS, FS and CMS but absent in fetal bovine serum (FBS) were selected by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and identified by peptide mass fingerprinting. Some of the identified proteins are known to be involved in immune responses and the others have unknown physiological roles. Moreover, it was found that some proteins such as alpha-2-macroglobulin appeared to be gender-specific with higher contents in FS. Insulin and testosterone was significantly higher in MS, and $17{\beta}$-estradiol and estrone were higher in FS, as compared to the other sera. Taken together, the results indicate that each GSBS has a different ratio of components. Differences in serum constituents may affect cell cultures in a different manner and could be beneficial, depending on the specific aim of cell cultures.

관수(灌水)에 의(依)한 비닐하우스내(內) 토양(土壤)의 제염(除鹽) (Effect of Watering on Eluviation of Soluble Salts in the Vinyl House Soils)

  • 소채(蔬채)의 연작(連作)과 다비(多肥)에 의(依)하여 염류(鹽類)가 과잉집적(過剩集積)된 비닐하우스 내(內) 토양(土壤)에 대(對)하여 관수량(灌水量)과 관수회수(灌水回數)에 따른 제염효과(除鹽效果)와 제염(除鹽)이 토마토 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 관수량(灌水量)이 증가(增加)할수록 또 1회(回)에 전량(全量)을 관수(灌水)하는 것 보다 2~3회에 나누어서 관수(灌水)하는 것의 제염률(除鹽率)이 높았다. 동일량(同一量)의 관수량(灌水量)에 대(對)한 제염효율(除鹽效率)은 사양토(砂壤士)보다 식양토(埴壤士)에서 높았으며, 150mm 관수시(灌水時) 토양(土壤)의 깊이 30cm 까지의 제염율(除鹽率)은 미사질식양토(微砂質埴壤土)에서 50%, 사양토(砂壤土)에서 34% 이었다. 2. 관수(灌水)에 의(依)한 제염(除鹽)으로 토마토의 수량(收量)은 증가(增加)하였으나, 제염율(除鹽率)과는 반드시 일치(一致)하지는 않았다. 100mm(50-50), 150mm(50-50-50, 혹(或)은 100-50) 및 200mm(100-100) 관수(灌水)한 구(區)의 증가(增收)가 인정(認定)되었다. 3 토마토의 수량(收量)(${\hat{Y}}$)와 표토(表土)의 전기전도도(電氣傳導度)(1 : 5)와는 다음과 같은 관계(關係)가 인정(認定)되었다. 사양토(砂壤士);${\hat{Y}}=1,737.0+437.5X-290.5X^2$ $(R=0.632^{**})$ 미사질식양토(微砂質埴壤士);${\hat{Y}}=1,542.3+454.1X-275.0X^2$ $(R=0.622^{**})$ 4. 수량(收量)과 토양(土壤)의 침출성(浸出性) 양(陽)ion중(中) calcium, magnesium의 함량(含量)과는 상관(相關)이 인정(認定)되지 않았으나, sodium, potassium sodium 함량(含量) 및 sodium과 calcium과의 비(比) (Na/Ca)과 부상관(負相關)이 인정(認定)되었다.

PFOS salts 및 PFOS 대체물질에 대한 미생물분해시험 (Biodegradation test of the alternatives of perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS) and PFOS salts)

  • Objectives: In this study, we investigated the biodegradation rates of 8 perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS) alternatives synthesized at the at Changwon National University in comparison to those of PFOS potassium salt and PFOS sodium salt. Methods: A biodegradability test was performed for 28 days with microorganisms cultured in the good laboratory practice laboratory at the Korea Environment Corporation following the OECD Guidelines for the testing of chemicals, Test No. 301 C Results: While $C_5H_8F_3SO_3K$, $C_8F_{17}SO_3K$ and $C_8F_{17}SO_3Na$ were not degraded after 28 days, the 3 alternatives were biodegraded at the rates of 31.4% for $C_8H_8F_9SO_3K$, 25.6% for $C_{10}H_8F_{13}SO_3K$, 23.6% for $C_{25}F_{17}H_{32}S_3O_{13}Na_3$, 20.9% for $C_{15}F_9H_{21}S_2O_8Na_2$, 15.5% for $C_{23}F_{18}H_{28}S_2O_8Na_2$, 8.5% for $C_{17}F_9H_{25}S_2O_8Na_2$ and 4.8% for $C_6H_8F_5SO_3K$. When the concentration was the same(500 mg/L), $C_{23}F_{18}H_{28}S_2O_8Na_2$ had the lowest tension with 20.94 mN/m, which was followed by $C_{15}F_9H_{21}S_2O_8Na_2$ (23.36 mN/m), $C_{17}F_9H_{25}S_2O_8Na_2$ (27.31 mN/m), $C_{25}F_{17}H_{32}S_3O_{13}Na_3$ (28.17 mN/m), $C_{10}H_8F_{13}SO_3K$ (29.77 mN/m) and $C_8H_8F_9SO_3K$ (33.89 mN/m). Having higher surface tension of 57.64 mN/m and 67.57 mN/m, respectively, than those of the two types of PFOS salts, $C_6H_8F_5SO_3K$ and $C_5H_8F_3SO_3K$ were found valueless as substitute for PFOS. Conclusion: The biodegradation test suggest that 6 compounds could be used as substitutes for PFOS. $C_{23}F_{18}H_{28}S_2O_8Na_2$ and $C_{15}F_9H_{21}S_2O_8Na_2$ were found to be the best substitutes based on biodegradation rate and surface tension, followed by $C_{25}F_{17}H_{32}S_3O_{13}Na_3$, $C_8H_8F_9SO_3K$ and $C_{10}H_8F_{13}SO_3K$. $C_{17}F_9H_{25}S_2O_8Na_2$ was found to have relatively low value as an alternative but it still had a potential to substitute the conventional PFOS.

알칼리금속염과 철황산염을 촉매로 한 갈탄의 CO2 가스화반응에서 기체-고체 반응모델을 적용한 촉매활성의 비교 (Comparison of catalytic activity through gas-solid reaction models in CO2 gasification of lignite with alkali metal salts and iron sulfate)

  • 저등급탄인 내몽골 갈탄의 촉매가스화반응을 수행하였다. 가스화반응은 열중량분석기(TGA)에서 반응온도 $600{\sim}900^{\circ}C$ 범위에서 이산화탄소를 반응가스로 하여 실행하였다. 공정설계에 필수적인 반응 인자들을 도출하기 위하여 세가지의 기-고체 반응모델을 사용하였으며 그 모델들이 가스화반응의 거동을 예측하는 능력을 비교하였다. 사용된 모델 중에서 modified volumetric reaction model이 촉매, 비촉매 가스화반응의 거동을 가장 잘 묘사하였다. 이론적 모델인 homogeneous model과 shrinking-core model은 비촉매반응과 $FeSO_4$를 촉매로 한 반응을 비교적 잘 표현하였다. 알칼리금속 촉매를 사용할 경우, 촉매의 활성은 $600^{\circ}C$ 낮은 온도에서 가장 크게 나타났으며 온도가 $700^{\circ}C$로 증가하면 촉매활성이 약 50% 감소하는 것이 관찰되었다. 온도가 더 증가하여 $800^{\circ}C$ 이상에서는 촉매활성은 일정해졌다. 본 연구에서 촉매의 활성 순서는 다음과 같이 얻어졌다: $K_2CO_3$ > $Na_2CO_3$ > $K_2SO_4$ > $FeSO_4$.

카네이션, 백합, 장미 시설재배지 토양중 양분함량 과 품종별 경엽중 양분함량 (Chemical Properties of the Greenhouse Soil and Nutrient Contents in Leaves and Stems of Carnation, Lily, and Rose.)

  • 시설화훼류 재배지 토양의 양분 집적도와 백합, 장미 및 카네이션의 품종별 경엽중 양분함량을 조사하여 토양개량의 기초자료를 얻고자 본시험을 수행하였다. 시설화훼류 재배지 토양은 염류농도, 유효인산, 치환성칼리 함량이 과다하게 집적되어 있는데 화훼류 재배지 별로는 장미 > 카네이션 > 백합재배지의 순으로 컸다. 화훼류 경엽중 양분함량은 작물별로는 백합 > 카네이션 > 장미의 순으로 높았으며, 품종별로는 백합은 'Snow Qeen'>'Le Reve'>'Casa Blanca', 카네이션'Marina'>'Super star'>'Mary Devor'> 'Madelon', 장미는 'Cocktail'> 'Marina'>'Maderon'의 순으로 높았다. 화훼류 경엽중 양분함량은 카네이션은 $T-N:1.66{\sim}2.35%$, $K:1.73{\sim}2.23%$, $Zn:2.13{\sim}6.43\;mg/kg$, $Cu:3.79{\sim}13.89mg/kg$ 범위이었으며 백합은 $T-N:0.79{\sim}1.65%$, $P:0.l8{\sim}0.44%$, $Ca:0.59{\sim}1.26%$, $Mg:0.21{\sim}0.46%$, $Zn:23.65{\sim}90.30mg/kg$, $Cu:0.99{\sim}4.62mg/kg$ 범위이었다. 또한 장미는 $T-N:0.75{\sim}1.62%$, $P:0.17{\sim}0.30%$, $K:1.60{\sim}2.91%$, $Ca:0.64{\sim}0.94%$, $Zn:24.57{\sim}48.31mg/kg$, $Cu:3.10{\sim}9.08mg/kg$ 범위이었다. 백합의 양분흡수량은 K > T-N > Ca > Mg의 순으로 컸으며, 장미의 양분흡수량은 T-N > K > Ca > P > Mg의 순으로 컸다.

Lithium 이온의 배설에 미치는 Corticosteroid의 영향 (Effect of Corticosteroids on Renal Excretion of Lithium)

  • rat에 주사된 lithium 이온의 배설에 미치는 수종의 corticosteroid의 영향을 검색한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. fludrocortisone을 10mg/kg 투여하여 혈청내 lithium 농도를 줄일 수 있었고, lithium의 뇨중 배설량도 증가시켰다. 2. dexamethasone을 0.1mg/kg 투여하여 혈청내 lithium 농도를 줄일 수 있었고, 1mg/kg을 투여하여 lithium의 뇨중 배설량도 증가시켰다. 3. dexamethasone에 의하여서는 혈중 $Na^+$$K^+$에 대한 농도비가 감소하였고, 반대로 뇨중 $Na^+$$K^+$에 대한 농도비가 감소하였다. 이상의 실험 결과를 미루어 corticosteroid는 lithium의 뇨중 배설량을 증가시키고 그 혈중 농도를 감소시킬 수 있으나, 이러한 작용은 신장을 통한 $Na^+$ 이나 $K^+$의 이동과는 전혀 상관이 없다고 생각된다.
