  • The purpose of this study is to examine by which correlation the pluralistic phenomenon in text is functioned in comparison with hair style and fashion in collection. As a result, the pluralistic image in text, which was shown in modern fashion, was indicated to be pluralistic phenomenon by gender, T.P.O, coordination, and material. The pluralistic image in text for hair style can be known to have been indicated to be the pluralistic phenomenon in text for gender and to be the pluralistic phenomenon in text according to material and cultural category. As for a method of this study, it did put limitation on the part that is shown in the fashion collection from 2001 to 2007, analyzed hair-style features centering on photos, which were extracted from style.com, the online site of specializing in fashion, and carried out a literature research side by side with the theoretical background on intertextuality. The analysis in work according to the pluralistic phenomenon in text made it possible for looking at with a new sight differently from the recognition in the past, and opened the potentiality for being able to understand lots of strange representations, which have been impossible so far. The process of imitating and reconstructing each text according to compositional principle led to possibly knowing the necessity of an artist's ability that can implement the originative world.

  • This study examines the relationship between a mother's psychological well-being and children's problematic behavior(withdrawal, depression anxiety, aggression and emotional instability). In order to expand the study on the relationships, special attention was given to the possible mediator effects of mother's coping style with children's negative emotions. The subjects were 305 mothers with children 4-5 years old residing in the cities of Cheonan and Seongnam. It was found that mother's psychological well-being was significantly related to the level of children's withdrawal, depression anxiety, aggression and emotional instability. The mother's coping style with children's negative emotions were also significantly related to the mother's psychological well-being. In addition the mother's coping style with children's negative emotions was found to be a significant mediator of the relationship between mother's psychological well-being and children's. This was especially so for internal problems behavior as like withdrawal, depression anxiety and emotional instability that were perfectly mediated by the mother's coping style with children's negative emotions. Aggression, external problems behavior was partially mediated by the mother's coping style.

  • Purpose: As anger may be strongly related to stroke, this study examined the relationship between anger expression style (anger-in, anger-out, anger-control) and risk factors for stroke to investigate the possible attribution of anger expression style to stroke incidence. Methods: The cross sectional study design was employed. The 291 participants signed consent forms and completed questionnaires including the anger expression style scales and risk factors for stroke. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test and One-way ANOVA. Results: The highest score among anger expression styles of the participants was from anger-control. Participants with higher mean value of anger-out were current non-smokers, doing regular exercise, having scores above 23 in Body Mass Index, having scores above 90 cm (male) or 80 cm (female) in abdominal circumference, and having scores below 85 mmHg in diastolic blood pressure. Participants with more than 5 risk factors to stroke had the highest score of anger-in. Conclusion: The results of this study implied anger expression style was psychological risk factor for stroke. Further studies to differentiate the anger expression style contributing to the risk of stroke are needed with a longitudinal study design.

  • This study examined the effects of social comparison orientation and stress coping styles on job-seeking stress experienced by university students. The participants of this study were 324 junior and senior students (151 males and 173 females) from six universities located in Seoul who were preparing for employment. They were asked to respond to a written questionnaire to measure research variables for the Job-Seeking Stress Scale, the Social Comparison Orientation Scale, and the Ways of Coping Checklist. The data were analyzed by means of descriptive statistics and a hierarchical multiple regression. The major findings of this study were as follows. First, social comparison orientation had a positive effect on job-seeking stress of university students, revealing that students with a high level of social comparison orientation were more likely to experience job-seeking stress. Second, both emotion-alleviation coping style and wishful thinking coping style increased level of job-seeking stress. In addition, problem-focused coping style had a negative influence on job-seeking stress, whereas social support seeking coping style had no significant effect on it. The results suggested that it would be possible to reduce job-seeking stress of university students by changing either social comparison or stress coping style.

  • In recent years research on automatic font generation with machine learning mainly focus on using transformation-based methods, in comparison, generative model-based methods of font generation have received less attention. Transformation-based methods learn a mapping of the transformations from an existing input to a target. This makes them ambiguous because in some cases a single input reference may correspond to multiple possible outputs. In this work, we focus on font generation using the generative model-based methods which learn the buildup of the characters from noise-to-image. We propose a novel way to train a conditional generative deep neural model so that we can achieve font style control on the generated font images. Our research demonstrates how to generate new font images conditioned on both character class labels and character style labels when using the generative model-based methods. We achieve this by introducing a modified generator network which is given inputs noise, character class, and style, which help us to calculate losses separately for the character class labels and character style labels. We show that adding the character style vector on top of the character class vector separately gives the model rich information about the font and enables us to explicitly specify not only the character class but also the character style that we want the model to generate.

  • Through the rapid development in personal computer technology, it has recently become possible to make a radar become possible to make a radar simulator based on the PC. Althougth such a technology has already been developed in the advanced countries like Japan, U.K., and U.S.A., our country has not been able to make such a simulator so far. In addition, revised STCW convention requires the maritime training institution to be equipped with the ARPA simulator satisfying the performance standard specified in the convention. In this thesis therefore, an attempt was made to developed the software of the ARPA radar simulation system using Visual Basic 4.0, with which we can finally make a Mockup style ARPA simulator satisfying the performance standard specified in the convention. In this thesis therefore, and attempt was made to developed the software of the ARPA radar simulation system using Visual Basic 4.0, with which we can finally make a Mockup style ARPA radar simulator. The system developed through the research has been found to run successfully on the desk top personal computer(586PC). A Mockup style ARPA radar simulator will be able to be made by simply installing this software on the PC which will be placed inside a ARPA radar Mockup, and this is one of the future research subjects.

  • Caports is a fusion style which consists of mix and match and various T.P.Os. The expressive features of Caports style have been strengthened by the combination of functional and decorative design. This study aims to divide the images into categories and to study the decorative features of each category. It is classified into five groups according to its images, Healthy & Sexy, Athletic, Romantic, Girlish, Vintage. The following study has assorted the pictures of Caports style into categories and presents decorative design features in each category. Analyzed materials have been collected from fashion magazines, catalogs, and fashion related Internet sites from 2002 to 2006. The dominant feature of caports was sensitive fashionableness as a day wear based on sportswear. This feature was determined by every factor such as materials, structure and details. In other words, the usage of jersey that could give functionalities and elasticity, structure that exhibit one's silhouette and the decorative designs of functional details make it possible to have this kind of peculiar style. Decorative designs shown in sports wear, casual wear and women's wear were all applied in Caports style. They showed a moderate and coherent style rather than one that was richly ornate or magnificent. So, in the mesa trend of "sportism", Caports style could easily fit into the 21st century's consumers' demands for fusion. And this study of decorating methods of each category of Caports style may provide useful data to help develop the products that consumers demand.

  • As fashion is a visual symbol that reflects age and culture, cosmetics and beauty are other products of fashion that move the time. A dominant designer of 20th century Chanel does not merely stand for a design innovation of fashion industry that created a vogue. With liberation from corsets that cruelly exaggerated and suppressed female body, meaning of style in modern fashion could be found not only in clothing but also in make-up and hair style. Simplest possible comfort was aimed for, and philosophical concepts of minimalism, modernism and dandyism were incorporated with clothing, cosmetics, perfume, make-up and hair style to establish aesthetical concept of total fashion. Chanel thought of cosmetics as an accessory with essential role and although her philosophy on cosmetics and beauty is not as well known as her clothing style, the authors believe that understanding such philosophy will become an important stepping stone for accurately understanding Chanel style. The purpose of this study is to firstly illuminate the idea that cosmetic beauty can be studied with artistic and philosophical background in addition to its functional side and to secondly investigate the reason why Chanel style is being loved by women with such durability over time and space and with what tempo fashion is connected with cosmetic beauty culture and develops. Third, by studying the ways in which characteristics of Chanel's fashion philosophy are expressed in cosmetics and beauty culture, this study aims to accurately understand Chanel's philosophy on cosmetics and beauty. The meaning of this study can be found by showing the evidence that globalization of Korean fashion beauty culture can be achieved only when cosmetics and beauty culture moves with an intimate connection to clothing culture.
