유리피판 이식술 174예의 분석 (Analysis of 174 Consecutive Free Flaps)

  • One hundred & seventy four consecutive free-flap transfers were reviewed to analyze distribution of the type of reconstructions, kinds of donor flaps as well incidence of complications. The role of emergent exploration and the effect of preoperative wound conditions in flap survival were evaluated. Free flap transfer for head and neck reconstruction was most common as 93 cases, followed by for upper extremity of 30 cases, for lower extremity 30 cases, 18 penile reconstructions and for trunk & breast 3 cases. Nine flaps exhibited signs of ciruclatory insufficiency between 5 hours and 7 days. Three were managed conservatively with ultimate partial necrosis of the flaps. Eight flaps required return to the operating room. On exploration, early arterial occlusion was revealed in 1 flap, late arterial occlusion in 2 flaps, early venous occlusion in 1 flap, late venous thrombosis in 2 flaps, prolonged venous spasm in 1 and hematoma in 1 flap. The average time from the first abnormal examination to exploration was 2.6 hours. There were no false-positive explorations. Four free flaps failed in spite of the correction of the cause of circulatory compromise. The remaining 4 flaps were salvaged following the correction the casuse. Recipient vessel problems such as irradiation and infection were the most common cause of circulatory crisis. Among the eight flaps requiring return to the operating room, single vein was anastomosed in three flaps and two veins in the remaining five. In the totally failed four flaps only single vein was anastomosed in three cases. The results of this study demonstrate the efficacy of clinical monitoring and the role of early exploration. Precautious selection of recipient vessels and two vein anastomosis are recommended for safe and better prognosis.

The importation of genetically modified crops and its environmental impacts in Korea

  • The global cultivation area of genetically modified crops (GM crops) has been increasing every year. Cultivation of GM crops is not only beneficial to the economy but also has positive effects on the environment in decreasing the use of agrochemicals, chemical fertilizers, and agricultural machinery. However, there have been controversies about the admixture of GM crops and non-GM crops and the unintentional release of GM crops to the environment. Especially in Korea, where consumption of agricultural products is import-dependent, the economic importance of GM crops has been a significant issue. The Act on import and distribution of GM crops was established in 2001 to start the management of GM crops in Korea. Recently, the imported amount of GM crops to Korea has reached over 10 million tons and is increasing very rapidly; consequently, the potential environmental impact of GM crops is becoming a big issue in Korea. In Japan, the discovery of imported GM canola plants around ports in 2005 raised awareness of the unintentional release of GM crops. In Korea, GM maize plants were also found in port and feed factory surroundings from 2005 to 2007. It is now necessary to monitor imported GM crops by tracing distribution, transport process for practical environmental risk assessment. Possible gene transfer from GM crops to non-GM crops should also be investigated in the cultivation area and the surroundings as well.

Welfare Effects of the Tax Reforms in Two Vertically-Related Oligopolies with Environmental Externality

  • 본 논문에서는 산업구조상 수직적으로 연결된 과점산업들을 상정한 뒤, 상류 및 하류 산업의 과점으로 인해 발생하는 최적에 미달하는 산출수준, 하류부문의 투입물 사용에서 발생하는 비효율성, 그리고 상류부문 과점산업의 환경오염으로 인해 발생하는 네 가지 비효율성을 모두 고려할 수 있는 이론 모형으로 정식화하고, 정책당국이 세수중립적인 세제개혁을 통해서 어떻게 후생증진을 도모할 수 있는지 논증한다. 이를 위해서 상류부문이 생산하는 중간재과 하류부문이 생산하는 최종재에 각각 산출세를 부과하는 경우와 환경오염 자체에 피구세(稅)를 부과하는 경우를 분리 상정하고, 각각의 후생변화를 수식으로 도출한다. 그 결과, 오염에 부과되는 생산요소간 대체를 가능하게하는 피구세(稅)가 생산감축을 통한 환경오염감소를 허용하는 산출세에 비해서 더 효과적으로 후생을 증진시킬 수 있는 논거가 경쟁적 단일산업에서뿐만 아니라 수직적으로 연결된 과점산업구조하에서도 여전히 타당함을 증명하고, 세수중립적인 조세-보조금 정책조합을 이용한 조세개혁을 통해 정책당국이 후생증진을 도모할 수 있는 조건을 명시적으로 도출한다. 또한 상하류 과점산업들의 한계적 이윤비용구조 및 한계적 환경오염의 상대적 크기가 각 산업에 대한 조세-보조금 정책조합의 방향을 결정하는데 매우 중요한 역할을 한다는 점을 밝힌다.

  • The purpose of this study is to research and develop polypyrrole(PPy) positive for thin film rechargeable lithium battery. We investigated cyclic voltammetry, AC impedance response and charge/discharge cycling of PPy/SPE/Li cells as a function of temperature. The redox capacity of $PPy/CF_{3}SO_{3}$ film was the most large. The discharge capacity of PPy/SPE/Li cell with $PPy/CF_{3}SO_{3}$ film was higher than those of $PPy/ClO_{4}$ and $PPy/AsF_6$ films at all cycles. The energy density of PPy/SPE/Li cells during 1st cycle was 73, 90 and 101Wh/kg at $25^{\circ}C$, $45^{\circ}C$ and $60^{\circ}C$, respectively. The improvement of energy density is due to reduction of charge-transfer resistance associated doping-undoping process in PPy film with Increasing temperature. $PPy/CF_{3}SO_{3}$ film shows a good property on charge/discharge cycling in PEO-$LiClO_4$-PC-EC electrolyte.

Rotation capacity of composite beam connected to RHS column, experimental test results

  • Commonly in steel frames, steel beam and concrete slab are connected together by shear keys to work as a unit member which is called composite beam. When a composite beam is subjected to positive bending, flexural strength and stiffness of the beam can be increased due to "composite action". At the same time despite these advantages, composite action increases the strain at the beam bottom flange and it might affect beam plastic rotation capacity. This paper presents results of study on the rotation capacity of composite beam connected to Rectangular Hollow Section (RHS) column in the steel moment resisting frame buildings. Due to out-of-plane deformation of column flange, moment transfer efficiency of web connection is reduced and this results in reduction of beam plastic rotation capacity. In order to investigate the effects of width-to-thickness ratio (B/t) of RHS column on the rotation capacity of composite beam, cyclic loading tests were conducted on three full scale beam-to-column subassemblies. Detailed study on the different steel beam damages and concrete slab damages are presented. Experimental data showed the importance of this parameter of RHS column on the seismic behavior of composite beams. It is found that occurrence of severe concrete bearing crush at the face of RHS column of specimen with smaller width-to-thickness ratio resulted in considerable reduction on the rate of strain increase in the bottom flange. This behavior resulted in considerable improvement of rotation capacity of this specimen compared with composite and even bare steel beam connected to the RHS column with larger width-to-thickness ratio.

산성용액 내에서${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$의 용해에 대한 환원성 염의 효과 (Effect of Reductive Salts on Dissolution of ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ in Acidic Solutions)

  • ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$의 HCl 또는 $H_2SO_4$에 의한 용해반응에 있어서 금속염의 첨가효과를 분광광도법과 중량법으로 검토하였다. 환원성 금속염은 현저한 반응촉진 효과를 보이나 비환원성 금속염은 부의 효과를 나타내었다. $FeCl_2$와 같은 환원성 금속염을 첨가한 경우에 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$의 용해속도가 크게 촉진되는 것은 $Fe^{3+}$$Fe^{2+}$ 사이에 chloro-brige가 형성되어 전하이동이 일어나면서 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ 표면의 격자에너지를 감소시키기 때문인 것으로 추측된다. 이 전하이동으로 인한 ${\alpha}-Fe_2O_3$ 표면의 격자 에너지 변화가 반응의 활성화에너지 변화와 대응된다고 보면 약 0.36e의 부분전하가 $Fe^{3+}$ 쪽으로 옮겨간 것으로 계산되었다.

Si3N4/AlN 이중층 구조 소자의 자가 정류 특성

  • 전자기기의 휴대성과 이동성이 강조되고 있는 현대사회에서 비휘발성 메모리는 메모리 산업에 있어 매우 매력적인 동시에 커다란 잠재성을 지닌다. 이미 공정의 한계에 부딪힌 Flash 메모리를 대신하여 10nm 이하의 공정이 가능한 상변화 메모리(Phase-Change Memory, PRAM), 스핀 주입 자화 반전 메모리(Spin Transfer Torque-Magnetic RAM, STT-MRAM), 저항 변화 메모리(Resistive Random Access Memory, ReRAM)가 차세대 비휘발성 메모리 후보로서 거론되고 있으며, 그 중에서도 ReRAM은 빠른 속도와 낮은 소비 전력, CMOS 공정 호환성, 그리고 비교적 단순한 3차원 적층 구조의 특성으로 인해 활발히 연구되고 있다. 특히 최근에는 질화물 또는 질소를 도핑한 산화물을 저항변화 물질로 사용하는 ReRAM이 보고되고 있는데, 이들은 동작전압이 낮을 뿐만 아니라 저항 변화(Resistive Switching, RS) 과정에서 일어나는 계면 산화를 방지할 수 있으므로 ReRAM의 저항 변화 재료로서 각광받고 있다. 그러나 Cell 단위의 ReRAM 소자를 Crossbar Array 구조에 적용시켰을 때 주변 Cell과의 저항 상태 차이로 인해 전류가 낮은 저항 상태(LRS)의 Cell로 흘러 의도치 않은 동작을 야기한다. 이와 같이 누설 전류(Leakage Current)로 인한 상호간의 간섭이 일어나는 Cross-talk 현상이 존재하며, 공정의 간소화와 집적도를 유지하면서 이 문제를 해결하는 것은 실용화하기에 앞서 매우 중요한 문제이다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 Read 동작 시 발생하는 Cell과 Cell 사이의 Cross-talk 문제를 해결하기 위해 자가 정류 특성(Self-Rectifying)을 가지는 실리콘 질화물/알루미늄 질화물 이중층(Si3N4/AlN Bi-layer)으로 구성된 ReRAM 소자 구조를 제안하였으며, Sputtering 방법을 이용하여 제안된 소자를 제작하였다. 전압-전류 특성 실험결과, 제안된 구조에 대한 에너지 밴드 다이어그램 시뮬레이션 결과와 동일하게 Positive Bias 영역에서 자가 정류 특성을 획득하였고, 결과적으로 Read 동작 시 발생하는 Cross-talk 현상을 차단할 수 있는 결과를 확보하였다.

지상 및 위성 고분해 적외스펙트럼 센서에서 관측된 황사 특성 (Infrared Spectral Signatures of Dust by Ground-based FT-IR and Space-borne AIRS)

  • The intensive dust observation experiment has been performed at Korea Global Atmosphere Watch Center (KGAW) in Anmyeon, Korea during each spring season from 2007 to 2009. Downward and upward hyper-spectral spectrums over the dust condition were measured to understand the hyper-spectral properties of Asian dust using both ground-based Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) and space-borne AIRS/Aqua. To understand the impact of the Asian dust, a Line-by-Line radiative transfer model runs to calculate the high resolution infrared spectrum over the wave number range of $500-500cm^{-1}$. Furthermore, the radiosonde, a $PM_{10}$ Sampler, a Micro Pulse Lidar (MPL), and an Aerodynamic Particle Sizer (APS) are used to understand the vertical profile of temperature and humidity and the properties of Asian dust like concentration, altitude of dust layer, and size distribution. In this study, we found the Asian dust distributed from surface up to 3-4 km and volume concentration is increased at the size range between 2 and $8{\mu}m$ The observed dust spectrums are larger than the calculated clear sky spectrums by 15~60K for downward and lower by around 2~6K for upward in the wave number range of $800-1200cm^{-1}$. For the characteristics of the spectrum during the Asian dust, the downward spectrum is revealed a positive slope for $800-1000cm^{-1}$ region and negative slope over $1100-1200cm^{-1}$ region. In the upward spectrum, slopes are opposed to the downward one. It is inferred that the difference between measured and calculated spectrum is mostly due to the contribution of emission and/or absorption of the dust particles by the aerosol amount, size distribution, altitude, and composition.

겔식 납축 전지의 충전상태에 따른 임피던스 특성 연구 (Impedance Characteristics of the Gel Type VRLA Battery at the Various State-of-Charge)

  • 본 연구에서는 겔식 VRLA (valve regulated lead acid번지의 충전상태(SoC) 판단을 위해 임피던스 기법을 이용하여 조사하였다. 임피던스는 VRLA전지 (2V/1.2Ah)의 다양한 충전상태에서 진폭 10mV로 100kHz에서${\sim}$10mHz까지 측정하였다. 측정된 임피던스 데이터로부터 등가회로를 유도하고, CNLS (Complex Non-linear Least Squares) 법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 양극 쪽의 전하전이 저항과 전기이중층 커패시턴스가 음극보다 높았다. 겔 저항은 충전상태가 감소함에 따라 증가하며 이는 VRLA 전지의 충전상태를 판단하는데 중요한 파라미터임을 확인하였다.

안면 마비의 재건에서 광배근 유리피판과 박근 유리피판의 비교 연구 (Comparative Study of the Latissimus Dorsi and Gracilis Muscle Reconstruction for Reanimation of a Paralyzed Face)

  • Purpose: The most accepted method for the reanimation of a paralyzed face is the two-stage method that combines cross-face nerve grafting with free-muscle transfer. Although the results of reconstruction with this method are satisfactory, there is an excessive delay between the stages, which prolongs the period of rehabilitation. In order to overcome this drawback, a one- stage, neurovascular free-flap reconstruction method using free neurovascular muscle flaps is introduced. Methods: From 1994 to 2004, 35 patients with longstanding facial palsy were treated. Fifteen patients underwent the single-stage reconstruction with the latissimus dorsi muscle, and 20 patients underwent the two-stage reconstruction method with the gracilis muscle. We compared the long-term results of the two methods of reconstruction. The mean follow-up period was 28.7 months for one-stage reconstruction, and 35.2 months for the two-stage, respectively. Results: In the patient group of the single stage reconstruction, both mouth corner excursion and animation grade were markedly improved at the final postoperative visit. Moreover, the first muscle contraction occurred earlier in this group, than in the two-stage reconstruction group. However, four patients in the single stage group never achieved a first muscle contraction or mouth corner excursion. Conclusion: Facial palsy is a very challenging condition for cosmetic surgeons to deal with. Traditional methods for treatment of chronic facial palsy use a two-stage muscle flap which is time-consuming and burdensome to patients, many of whom are averse to waiting 8 to 12 months to complete the two stages. The one-stage reconstruction method described herein uses a latissimus dorsi free-flap and has demonstrated consistent positive outcomes in clinical assessments.
