Background: Smartphone addiction, academic stress and anxiety of university students are increasing gradually; however, few studies have investigated these factors in medical school students. Therefore, this study investigated associations between smartphone addiction scale and sociopsychological aspects in medical school students. Methods: A total of 231 Yeungnam University College of Medicine students were enrolled in this study in March 2017. Gender, school grade, type of residence, and smartphone usage patterns of the students were surveyed. The Korean Smartphone Addiction Proneness Scale and each Korean version scale were used to assess sociopsychological aspects such as loneliness, stress and anxiety. Results: There was a direct statistical correlation between loneliness, stress of negative perception, anxiety and smartphone addiction scales. There was also a negative statistical correlation between stress of positive perception and smartphone addiction scales. There was a higher level of anxiety among female students than male students. Additionally, there was a higher level of stress associated with negative perception and anxiety among medical students in the first grade than other students. Moreover there was a higher level of loneliness, stress of negative perception and anxiety among students who live with friends than students who live with their own family. Conclusion: Smartphone addiction scale and sociopsychological aspects significantly correlated. Moreover, the results suggest that female medical students in the first grade who have been separated from their family need more attention and management of loneliness, stress and anxiety to avoid smartphone addiction.
The shock of melamine-contained food has been known with the incident of hospitalization or death of infants at the age of 11-month old in China. The purpose of this study was to examine consumers' risk perception, attitude and purchase behavior of melamine-contained food which recently came to the fore as a social issue, focusing on the relationship between consumers' attitude and purchase behavior based on physical risk, social risk, psychological risk, financial risk, consumers' attitude and purchase behavior. Study findings are as follows. First, the four factors of risk perception of melamine-contained food were significantly different by consumers. Consumers regarded social risk as most significant and it was followed by financial risk and psychological risk. And they regarded physical risk as most insignificant. Second, as for the difference of risk perception by demographic features, such factors as gender, age, marital status and schooling had no statistically significant influence. Third, the potential risk of melamine-contained food had a negative influence upon consumers' attitude and purchase behavior. In addition, consumers' attitude and purchase behavior were decided by perceived risks. This finding implies that consumers' attitude can accompany with negative or positive behavior and consumers' behavior can be related to social, financial and physical risks. Because the risk perception of melamine-contained food can cause consumers' distrust about all kinds of food in general, domestic manufacturers of milk product-contained confectionery and food can be harmed. In order to overcome this problem and make consumers purchase all the milk products and milk-contained food without fear, governmental agencies must reestablish systems with which the safety of imported raw materials and its processing can be insured and manufactures must improve the quality of products in a diverse and discriminative manner. This study seems to be meaningful in that it examined consumers' risk perception of melamine-contained food, a current social issue, and then looked into the influence of risk perception upon consumers" attitude and behavior, thus presenting the strategy of reestablishing the system of relationship between consumers and business entities in a desirable manner.

Among eco-friendly energy, solar energy is one of the renewable energy sources that is developing in the spotlight in many countries. In line with this, the Korean government and local governments are carrying out projects to provide subsidies for the distribution of household solar power, raising the spread of household solar power and awareness. However, due to the lack of research on consumer perception of household solar power, this study investigated the perception of household solar power from 2015 to 2022 by setting the central word as solar power. As a result, 2016 had the highest number of collections, and when the top 50 words for each year were analyzed, it was confirmed that words related to the installation and maintenance of household solar power dominated. And through CONCOR analysis, a total of four were derived: solar energy recognition, renewable and eco-friendly energy recognition, solar government policies, solar companies, and perceptions of households. Through emotional analysis, it was confirmed that 2021 had the most positive data. As a result, consumer perception of household solar power is positive based on what was mentioned above, but research on how to use negative opinions on waste control and installation and maintenance should be conducted.

This study aims to find out the influence of the intolerance of uncertainty on entrepreneurial intention by focusing on the start-up support system awareness. While most of existing studies focused on the positive psychological variables and individual environmental characteristics influencing on the entrepreneurial intention, this study has taken a look at the influence of the intolerance of uncertainty as the psychological variable to the entrepreneurial intention to negatively act on the entrepreneurial intention. As a result of the analysis, the intolerance of uncertainty under the control of entrepreneurship and gender is shown to have the negative (-) influence on the entrepreneurial intention and has high level of recognition on the start-up support system perception, and the start-up support system perception is confirmed to have positive (+) influence on the entrepreneurial intention. And, it also indicates that, with respect to the influence of the intolerance of uncertainty on the entrepreneurial intention, the start-up support system perception has the partial medium effect. Following this result of the study, it provides following indications: First the existing studies on the entrepreneurial intention had not covered the intolerance of uncertainty but it is confirmed as the psychological variable with negative influence on the entrepreneurial intention. Second, it is feasible for the preliminary start-up businesses may turn the fear on start-up failure into positive entrepreneurial intention with the start-up support system perception as the leading vehicle. And, third, based on the result, the government should enhance the start-up support system perception even more by seeking ways of efficient publicity to enable more preliminary start-up businesses to participate in diverse start-up support policies. Lastly, it discusses the limitations of this study as well as proposal for ensuing study plans.

The Chinese fashion market is a fierce battlefield for foreign brands and domestic brands. This research carefully analyzed several effects based on theories related to the country of origin for brands and consumer attitudes. All data were collected by a questionnaire distributed to Chinese consumers who have experienced global fashion brands. Data collection was conducted in March 2011. A total of 382 complete responses were used for the analysis. The results were as follows: First, for Chinese brands, there was a direct consumer ethnocentrism (CET) effect on brand attitudes. Second, CET showed no effect for European brands; however, conspicuous consumption had a significant positive influence. Third, there existed direct effects of CET and economic animosity on brand attitudes for brands from an unfriendly country. There was a positive moderating effect of conspicuous consumption on the association between CET and Japanese brand attitudes; in addition, a negative situation perception aggravates the negative relationship between economic animosity and Japanese brand attitudes. The results of the study can help marketers obtain more specific knowledge of brand attitudes for target consumer groups as well as enable them to plan and implement well-suited strategies for fashion businesses in China.

This study explores the major factors that are likely to affect the acceptance and resistance of innovative products and services. The TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) has been widely used for understanding consumer acceptance of new technology. This model displays perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use as antecedents of intention to adopt and use. However, research has reported a variety of preceding variables for technology acceptance. In addition, considering paradoxes of technology, research regarding both acceptance and resistance in an integrated model can explain consumer perception and behavior in detail. The results of this study states that relative benefits, degree of innovation in technology, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have had positive influence on the intention to adopt but negative impact on that of resistance. However, alterations of usage and perceived risk positively affects resistance, but also have negative effects on the intention to adopt. Finally, intention to adopt has comparatively greater influence than that of resistance on intention to use. Theoretical and managerial implications of the results are also discussed.
