THE EFFECTS OF Sm ON THE MICROSTRUCTURE AND MAGNETOSTRICTION OF Fe-Co ALLOYS

  • We investigated the effects of Sm on the microstructure and magnetic properties of Fe-Co Alloy films prepared by a DC triode sputtering. The magnetostriction was found to be changed with the Sm content from positive to negative values, taking a zero magnetostriction was at about 3 at% Sm. The Sm content dependence of magnetostriction was explained by the formation of Sm enriched amorphous phase surrounding the main bcc (Fe,Co) crystalline phase, which was observed by a high resolution transmission electron microscopy.

성인여성의 자기존중기억 주제에 관한 연구: 성취 혹은 관계 (Themes of self-esteem memories in female adults: Achievement or relationship)

  • 본 연구는 성인여성을 대상으로 자기존중기억 내용의 주제를 알아보기 위해 수행되었다. 자기존중기억(self-esteem memory)이란 자기에 대해 현저하게 긍정적으로 또는 부정적으로 생각했던 사건에 대한 기억을 말하는데, 성취에 관한 내용과 관계에 관한 내용으로 대별될 수 있다. 연구 참가자는 청년기 여성(M=21.56) 18명, 중년기 여성(M=54.13) 15명, 노년기 여성(M=74.35) 20명으로 총 53명의 성인여성이었으며, 긍/부정적 자기존중기억을 각 4가지씩 총 8가지를 회상, 구술하도록하여 그 내용을 주제별로 분류하고 살펴보았다. 분석 결과, 성인여성은 긍정적인 자기존중기억과 부정적인 자기존중기억 모두 성취보다는 사회적 관계에 관한 내용에 초점이 맞추어져 있었으며 그러한 경향은 청년의 긍정적 기억에서 또 중년의 부정적 기억에서 발견되었다. 이는 개인이 강조되는 서양문화와 비교해 집단주의적 성격이 중시되는 우리 문화 특성과 공동체적 특질이 두드러진 여성의 특성을 반영한다고 할 수 있다. 추후에 자기존중기억의 주제에 대한 성차 및 생애 주기별 차이에 대한 연구가 필요하다.

3D 영상 시청 시 콘텐츠에 따른 깊이 인지 변화와 회복도 분석 (An Analysis of Recovery Rate and a Change of Depth Recognition After Watching 3D Videos)

  • The recent increase in the production of 3D contents allowed viewers to experience various 3D contents. However, some of the viewers did not experience 3D depth well. Several researches were done in past to measure viewers' 3D depth perception, but these researches were done with certain limitations. In this paper, we measured viewers' 3D depth perception and recovery rate in relation with the changes in binocular disparities, saturation, and brightness values after subjects' watching 2D/3D contents. The results showed that when viewers watched the 3D content with positive binocular disparities for 42 minutes, viewers felt that the object seemed to have moved further forward than it was before; with 3D content with negative binocular disparities, viewers felt that the object seemed to be moved backwards. We found that the locational differences of the object in positive disparities were greater than those in the negative binocular disparities. The recovery rate was computed by comparing two measured values of before and after watching 3D contents for 30 minutes. On average, after 30-minute break, viewers showed roughly 50 % of recovery rate.

PTCR 나노 복합기능 소재의 전류 차단 특성 연구 (PTCR Characteristics of Multifunctional Polymeric Nano Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 나노 입자의 카본블랙을 결정성 고분자에 분산시켜 특정한 온도에서 저항이 급격하게 증가하는 positive temperature coefficient resistance (PTCR) 특성을 연구하였다. 열가소성 수지를 이용한 PTCR 소재를 열처리에 의하여 고분자의 큐리온도를 조절할 수 있었다. 나노입자 카본블랙이 고분자 구조내에 고르게 분산이 되지 않고, 카본블랙의 함량이 과다하면 negative temperature coefficient resistance (NTCR) 현상이 발생하였다. 카본블랙의 함량과 내부전압을 조절함에 따라 발열 온도를 선정할 수 있었다. 카본블랙의 함량에 따라 전기 전도성이 다르게 나타났으며, 20 wt% 이상에서는 저항이 거의 일정하게 나타난다는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 제조된 PTCR 소재는 반복적인 가열 냉각에 따른 상온에서의 초기 저항의 변화가 거의 없어 재현성을 확인하였으며, 초기의 낮은 저항에 의한 순간적인 발열에 의하여 저온에서의 PTCR 성능이 향상되었다.

GMO 정보 전달 방식이 소비자의 가치 인식에 미치는 영향 (The Effects on Information Types of GMO for Consumers' Value Perception)

  • GMO labeling system in South Korea stipulates three labeling methods: GMO labeling, no labeling and Non-GMO labeling. Products labeled as Non-GMO are not allowed for unintentional commingling of GMO without tolerance. However, consumers vary their acceptance of Non-GMO label on the unintentionally commingled products and willingness to pay according to the mixing rate, rather than devalue the whole products as useless. Additionally, consumers do not believe that the acceptable mixing rate should be discriminated between non-labeled products, which allow up to 3% of unintentional GMO contamination, and Non-GMO labeled products. Information on unintentional GMO mixing mainly refers to the mixing rate, but the Non-GMO content remaining even after commingling is also important information. The decline in value is alleviated when consumers are exposed to positive information, such as Non-GMO content, rather than when exposed to negative information, such as the mixing rate. Loss Aversion Coefficient is relative depending on whether the information representing the loss is positive or negative. Information that a Non-GMO labeled product contains X% GMO is more sensitive than information that (100-X)% Non-GMO remains.

화분관 In Vitro 생장의 굴수성에 대하여 (Tropisms of Pollen-Tubes In Vitro)

  • Zephyranthes candida, Narcissus pseudonarcissus and Crinum asiaticum pollen were placed near their pistil parts respectively on agar cultural media(microslides) containing 10% sucrose and 100mg/l botic acid plus 1% agar with or without calcium and some other calciumsupporting inorganic salts. If fresh pistils (100% moisture) were used pollen grew toward their pistil parts, showing "positive" tropism. This was also true when combinations among three different species were made. Pollen tubes grew away from the pistils if they were dried (below 10% moisture), showing "negative" tropism. Pollen could not show any tropic growth and thus grew at random of all directions if the pistil parts were incompletely dried (approximately 50% moisture). The similar tropic responses of pollen-tube growth with the three species could be demonstrated with etiehr wet or dried tooth-pick segments. Calcium jons in the basic medium merely promated pollen-tube growth and so either "positive" or "negative" tropism became rather distinctive, but they were not tropically active. Pollen tubes grow toward pistil parts with more moisture content and seem to be hydrotropically sensitive. This was assumed due to the cohesive force existing in water molecules.esive force existing in water molecules.

  • The present paper focuses on the interaction between lexical-semantic information and affective prosody. More specifically, we explore whether affective prosody influence on evaluation of affective meaning of a word. To this end, we asked participants to listen a word and to evaluate the emotional content of the word which were recoded with affective prosody. Results showed that first, emotional evaluation was slower when the word meaning is negative than when they is positive. Second, when the prosody of words is negative, evaluation time is faster than when it is neutral or positive. And finally, when the affective meaning of word and prosody is congruent, response time is faster than it is incongruent.

Correlations of Sensory Quality Characteristics with Intramuscular Fat Content and Bundle Characteristics in Bovine Longissimus Thoracis Muscle

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the relation of sensory quality traits of cooked beef to fresh meat quality and histochemical characteristics, especially muscle bundle traits, in the longissimus thoracis muscle of Hanwoo steers. Cooking loss negatively correlated with softness, initial tenderness, chewiness, rate of breakdown (RB), and amount of perceptible residue (AR) after chewing (p<0.05), and drip loss showed negative correlation with RB and AR (p<0.05). All the attributes of tenderness exhibited negative correlation with the Warner-Bratzler shear force value (p<0.05). Marbling score and the intramuscular fat (IMF) content showed positive correlation with all the organoleptic characteristics, including tenderness attributes, juiciness, and flavor (p<0.05). Regarding histochemical characteristics, muscle fiber size did not have a significant correlation with all the sensory quality traits, although the area percentage of type I fiber was related with softness, initial tenderness, and chewiness (p<0.05). On the contrary, the characteristics of muscle bundle were related to all the sensory tenderness attributes (p<0.05), and the sensory tenderness increased with smaller muscle bundle size (p<0.05). These results suggest that the IMF content and bundle characteristics can be used as indicators for explaining the variations in sensory tenderness in well-marbled beef.

우리나라 일부연안 해산 어류 중의 중금속 함량에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Content of Heavy Metals of Marine Fish in Korean Coastal water)

  • This study was carried out to find out the content of injurious heavy metals, such as mercury, lead, cadmium and arsenic of marine fish which had been captured in adjacent sea of Korea. From March, 1 to April, 30 in 1993. 60 sample of fishes were collected the adult fish and young fish. These samples were analyzed by the Mercury Analyzer and Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectro Analyzer. The results of the study were summarized as follows: (1) The content of mercury in Therafra chalcograma was 0.112$\pm$0.034 ppm which was higher than other fishes, but Pseudosciaena manchurica and Pampus argenteus had lower (P<0.05). Although lead content of Trichiurus lepturus was 0.359$\pm$0.056 ppm, which was higher than other fishes. The lead content of Theragra chalcograma had lower to the almost same level. The cadmium content of the Theragra chalcograma was 0.069$\pm$0.010 ppm which was higher than other samples, but Pseudosciaena manchurica had 0.039$\pm$0.020 ppm to lower level. Though there was some fluctuation in the arsenic content which was 0.433~3.752 ppm, the arsenic content of Therafra chalcograma was 3.752$\pm$2.873 ppm which was the higher than any other fishes. But there are not statistical significances. (2) Heavy metal content by the maturity of the fishes: Mercury content of the old Pseudosciaena manchurica was 0.055$\pm$0.15 ppm comparing to the young's result of 0.030$\pm$0.009 ppm (P<0.05). Though there were some differences according to the maturity, but thee was no statistical significance. (3) In view of the correlation of the heavy metal content, for Pseudosciaena manchurica, high correlation was founded to r=0.6437 between mercury and cadmium (P<0.05). Though the content of mercury, arsenic cadmium and lead had positive correlation (r=0.2725) and negative correlation (r=-0.3958), but there was no significance at all. The other fishes were not found correlation between the heavy metal content. Positive correlation was found between age with mercury in Pseudociaena manchurica (r=0.7018, P<0.05). The negative correlation of age with lead content in the Pseudociaena Manchurica was signigicant (P<0.05). The correlation coefficient was r=-0.7623. The age with mercury content in Coloabis saira had high correlation (r=0.7201, P<0.05). Through the above analysis, it can get conclusion that injurious heavy metal content of the fishes in Korea such a mercury, lead, cadmium and arsenic were at the level of natural content. At present, guidelines of maximum residue level allowed at foreign countries about the injurious heavy metal have been used according to the kinds of fish but our government guideline for the marine fishes in only total mercury below 0.7 ppm and lead below 2 ppm. So more aggressive guidelines for the allowance level of heavy metals in marine fishes are required for the safety of foods.

Evaluation of the quality stability on the soybean flour depending on storage conditions

  • Legumes are good sources of various nutrients. Among legumes, soybean and its flour are accessible foods to consumers. However, in case of soybean flour, there is a disadvantage of easily going rancid. Thus, this study aimed to investigate how the quality of soybean flour changes during storage according to the packaging materials and storage temperatures. The raw and roasted soybean flours were packed in two types of packaging, polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) film bags respectively, and stored at three different storage temperatures (4, 20, and $45^{\circ}C$) for 1 year. The acid value, conjugated diene value, peroxide value, p-anisidine value, thiobarbituric acid (TBA) value, lipoxygenase activity, and fatty acid content of raw and roasted soybean flours were measured at the point of starting storing, and after 1, 2, 4, 8, and 12 weeks of storage. The acid value of soybean flour was increased for 4 weeks and thereafter significantly decreased (p < 0.0001). The conjugated diene value was significantly increased after 4 weeks storage at $45^{\circ}C$ with PE and PP film bags (p < 0.0001). The peroxide value had no changes during 4 weeks storage at $45^{\circ}C$ with PE and PP film bags, and then those was dramatically increased after 8 weeks (p < 0.0001). The p-anisidine values in all of storage conditions were decreased after 4 weeks. Lipoxygenase activity was decreased at 12 weeks storage at $20^{\circ}C$ and $45^{\circ}C$ with PP film bags. Acid value had positive correlations with p-anisidine value (r = 0.30 and p < 0.0001) and lipoxygenase activity (r = 0.36 and p < 0.0001), and had negative correlations with conjugated diene value (r = -0.45 and p < 0.0001) and peroxide value (r = -0.25 and p < 0.001). Conjugated diene value had a high positive correlation with peroxide value (r = 0.76 and p < 0.0001), but that had a negative correlation with lipoxygenase activity (r = -0.51 and p < 0.0001). Peroxide value had negative correlations with p-anisidine value (r = -0.20 and p < 0.01) and TBA value (r = -0.15 and p < 0.05). The degree of reduction in fatty acid content of raw soybean flour was higher than the roasted soybean flour during the storage. Total fatty acid content had positive correlations with acid value (r = 0.45 and p < 0.0001) and p-anisidine value (r = 0.58 and p < 0.0001), but had a weak negative correlation with conjugated diene value (r = -0.19 and p < 0.01). This study showed how the rancidity of the raw and roasted soybean flours progressed during storage. Thus, our findings can be used as base data to do a further study of finding and developing more stable storage conditions of the soybean flour.
