Position control fo a flexible gantry robot arm using smart actuators (스마트 작동기를 이용한 갠트리형 유연로봇팔의 위치제어)

  • This paper presents new feedback actuators to achieve an accurate position control of a flexible gnatry robot arm. the translational motion in the plane is generated by two d.c.motors and controlled by emplying elecor-rheological(ER) clutch acutators. The generated motion can be continuously controlled by controlling the intensity of lectric field imposed to the ER fluid domain which tunes the transmitted torque of the ER clutch. n the other hand, during control action of the translational motion a flexible arm attached to the moving mass produces undesirable oscillatins due to its inherent flexibility. The oscillations are actively suppressed by applying feedback voltages to piezoceramic acutators bonded on the surface of the flexible arm. The control electric fields to be applied to the ER clutch and the control voltage for the piezoceramic actuator are determined via the loop shaping esign procedures(LSDP) in the H.inf. control technique. Comsequently, an accuate positiion control at the end-point of the flexible am is achieved during planar motion.

  • One of the most important performance criteria related to the gain tuning of controller for CNC machining center is the contour error. This study analyzed circular error by the axis-matched and mismatched cases. To reduce ellipse and radius error, it is necessary to set the gain for each axis to be same bandwidth and high response. Based on the analysis in the frequency domain, we simulate feed system by mathematical model and then predict bandwidth of each axis. For analysis of structure vibration while the each axis is moving, we try the various of measuring method and position loop is improved by jerk limit.

  • In this paper, a dynamic modeling for the velocity and position information of a single frequency stand-alone GPS(Global Positioning System) receiver is described. In static condition, the position error dynamic model is identified as a first/second order transfer function, and the velocity error model is identified as a band-limited Gaussian white noise via non-parametric method of a PSD(Power Spectrum Density) estimation in continuous time domain. A Kalman filter is proposed considering both correlated/white measurements noise based on identified GPS error model. The performance of the proposed Kalman filtering method is verified via numerical simulation.

  • This study concerns the constraints of English Poetic Fixed Meter. In English poems, the metrical pattern doesn't always match the linguistic stress on the lines. These mismatches are found differently among the poets. For the lexical stress mismatched with the weak metrical position, ${\ast}W{\Rightarrow}$ Strength is established by the concept of the strong syllable. The peaked monosyllabic word mismatched with weak metrical position is divided according to which side of the boundary of a phonological domain it is adjacent to. In most poets, ${\ast}$Peak] is ranked higher than ${\ast}$[Peak. In Shakespeare, Adjacency Constraint is ranked higher than ${\ast}$Peak].

Effects of Mutagenesis of Highly Conserved Tyrosine Residues on the Function of m1 Muscarinic Receptor

  • Muscarinic acetylcholine receptors contain two highly conserved tyrosine residues which are located within or at the extracellular border of the second transmembrane domain. These tyrosine residues are located at positions 82 and 85 of the sequence of the ml subtype of muscarinic receptors. In this wok, we studied the involvement of these two residues in ligand binding to and agonist-induced activation this receptor subtype. our data suggest an important role for these two tyrosines in these processes, with a more prominent role for the tyrosine residue located at position 82 than that located at position 85. Evidence is also provided that while the aromatic moiety of these tyrosine residues is important for antagonist binding, both this moiety and the tyrosine phenolic hydroxyl group are involved in agonist binding and receptor activation.

Specific Absorption Rate Values of Handsets in Cheek Position at 835 MHz as a Function of Scaled Specific Anthropomorphic Mannequin Models

  • A specific anthropomorphic mannequin (SAM) model was used to investigate the relation between local specific absorption rate (SAR) and head size. The model was scaled to 80 to 100% sized models at intervals of 5%. We assumed that the shell of the SAM model has the same properties as the head-equivalent tissue. Five handsets with a monopole antenna operating at 835 MHz were placed in the approximate cheek position against the scaled SAM models. The handsets had different antenna lengths, antenna positions, body sizes, and external materials. SAR distributions in the scaled SAM models were computed using the finite-difference time-domain method. We found that a larger head causes a distinct increase in the spatial peak 1-voxel SAR, while head size did not significantly change the peak 1-g averaged-SAR and 10-g averaged-SAR values for the same power level delivered to the antenna.

A Method for Extracting Shape and Position of an Object using Partial M-array

  • This paper describes a new method for object extraction necessary for image tracking systems. The extraction method which this paper proposes here is that an M-array is set between a camera and the object and the obtained image including the object and M-array is pro-cessed for extracting the object. The image processing utilizes a characteristic of M-array which is robust to noise. When an M-array is overlapped on the object in background image, the object woud have a part of M-array, which is detected by use of partial correlation between the mosaic image of M-array and the standard M-array. Thus the shape and position of the object are extracted by extracting a common domain of width of high correlation value. Experiments are carried out by using an actual photo of Kumamoto city taken from an airplane as background, and by use of a rectangular and circular object. The results of experiment show a wide application of this method for practical image tracking systems.

  • To investigate dependence of the sensitivity of THz metamaterials on the position of target dielectric materials, we functionalized the metamaterial gap with an adhesive polymer. A shift in resonance frequency occurs when polystyrene microbeads are deposited in the gap of the metamaterial's metal resonator pattern, while little change is observed when they are deposited on other areas of the metasurface. A two-dimensional mapping of the sensitivity, with a grid size of 1 ㎛, is obtained from a finite-difference time-domain simulation: The frequency shift is displayed as a function of the position of a target dielectric cube. The resulting sensitivity distribution clearly reveals the crucial role of the gap in sensing with metamaterials, which is consistent with the electric field distribution near the gap.

  • In this paper, the discrete variable structure controller (DVSC) is proposed for vector controlled induction motor position control. The variable structure control (VSC) which guarantees accuracy and robustness in nonlinear control system is developed in discrete time domain for applying to real servo system. Furthermore, the load torque observer is introduced to reduce chattering problem. The computer simulation results are presented to verify the proposed control scheme.

  • It is significant issue to control the unwanted transverse electric (TE) modes in the vacuum chamber for preventing the position reading noise from the beam position monitor (BPM) of storage ring. We introduce shunt structure to control the frequency distribution of TE resonance modes excited in the vacuum chambers of the Pohang Light Source II (PLS-II). The design of shunt structure is performed using the full three dimensional finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) simulation. It is verified that the sympton of the BPM noise is not oberved up to the beam current of 190 mA in the commmissioning of PLS-II.
