  • In order to use vesicle as a space of polymerization, monomer and cross-linking agent were put into hydrophobic part of vesicle. The vesicle solution of dimethyldioctadecylammonium bromide was formed by ultrasonication. Styrene and divinylbenzene were put into this solution and polymerization was conducted by adding AIBN. The polymer with sphere-shaped structure was obtained by removing all of the surfactant by extraction of ethanol And using methyl methacrylate and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate, this sphere-shaped polymer structure was also formed.

  • Membranes are a central feature of all biological systems and their ability to control many cellular processes is critically important. As a result, a better understanding of how molecules bind to biological membranes is an active area of research. In this report, the interaction between our biomimetic structures and different biological membranes is reported using both model vesicle and in vitro bacterial cell experiments. These results show that lipid composition is more important for selectivity than overall net charge. An effort is made to connect model vesicle studies with in vitro data and naturally occurring lipid compositions.

  • Cholesterol-containing surfactant was synthesized, and it was sonicated with monomer [tetradeca(ethylene glycol) diacrylate] in water to from a vesicle solution. This vesicle solution was dried to construct a membrane which had a molecular multilayer structure. The monomer which stay in this membrane was polymerized with photoinitiation, and then surfactant was extracted by organic solvent. The physical properties of the two dimensional polymer network were measured, and these physical properties are tensile strength, elongation, and swelling.

This vesicle solution was dried to construct a membrane which had a molecular multilayer structure. Using UV irradiation the monomer in this membrane were polymerized, and then surfactant was extracted by organic solvent. Using a X-ray diffractometer, the thickness of one layer and the regularity of the multilayer were measured. And scanning electron microscopy was conducted for fractured polymer film.

  • A vesicle forming polymer, poly(sodium acrylamidoundecanoate) (PSAU) and a water-soluble distyrylbenzene- based fluorophore, TPADSB-C were synthesized and characterized by using UV-vis and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. An inter-chain vesicle formation of PSAU was observed at ~0.01 g/L from N-phenyl naphthylamine fluorescence measurement with changing PSAU concentration in water. Above critical aggregation concentration of PSAU, optical properties of TPADSB-C were investigated to study the microenvironment modulation through dye incorporation in the polymeric vesicle. The emission of TPADSB-C in the presence of PSAU vesicles was blue-shifted and the PL quantum efficiency was increased to 90% due to the microenvironment (e.g. polarity) change in aqueous solution. This study shows that the polymeric vesicle containing molecular fluorophores has a great potential as an efficient, stable and biocompatible labeling tag in biological cell imaging.

  • The transformation of the liquid crystal complex made by binding of anionic surfactant, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), into high charge density cationic polymer, the homopolymer of diallyldimethylammonium chloride (PDADMAC) was induced by adding of nonionic surfactants and investigated by means of microscopy and FE.SEM. Among nonionic surfactants in this experiments polyethylene glycol (3 mol) ether of lauryl alcohol (laureth-3) made variation in the complex. The laureth-3 transformed the complex into spherulite vesicle with the size of ca.$100{\mu}m$. This change increased the viscosity and the turbidity of the solution phase separated originally. Microscope showed that they are spherulite particles and polarized microscope suggested they are multi.lamellar liquid crystals. FE-SEM also proved that explicitly.

  • The excess volumes of mixing of benzyl alcohol and halothane in vesicle and in suspensions of several lipids have been determined at $25^{\circ}C$ it using a excess volume dilatometer. The potency of general anesthetics has long been known to correlate with lipid solubility. Denaturations of the vesicle, which is a sole membrane protein in the purple membrane of Halobacteriun Halobium, were studied by absorption changes at 280 nm and fluorescence changes at 330 nm and excess volume dilatometer. The particle size analysis of viscous polymer solutions by diffusional interchange is the key step by measurement. The excess volume of mixing in chitosan was found to be negative, whereas them of purple membrane, Halobacteriun Halobium and red membrane were positive in benzyl alcohol and halothane. This result was confirmed as Miller's supposition.

  • Considering the current COVID 19 pandemic, herein, we developed a material that can be used to fabricate a device for checking the body temperature of a person who has been exposed to influenza or corona virus. This material was formed by mixing pluronic F127 (F127) with a polydiacetylene (PDA) vesicle, which was formed with 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid. The color of the system started to change from blue to light purple at 37 ℃, finally turning reddish at 40 ℃. Thus, the developed material can be used to detect changes in body temperature, and thus, detect signs of fever. The mixing ratio of the PDA vesicle and F127 was an important factor for controlling the temperature at which the color change started. The results showed that the color change accompanied by the separation of the PDA vesicle with F127. We believe that this phenomenon plays an important role in reducing the conjugation length in the double and triple bond of PDA.
