답토양(畓土壤)에 규산질비료(珪酸質肥料)의 매년연용(每年連用)이 년차간(年次間) 벼수량(收量) 및 토양(土壤)의 이화학적 성질변화(性質變化)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (Changes in Rice Yield and Soil Physico-Chemical Properties as Affected by Annul Application of Silicare Fertilizer to the Paddy Soil)

  • 답토양(畓土壤)에 삼요소(三要素) 및 규산질비료(珪酸質肥料) 150kg/10a, 250kg/10a를 10여년간(餘年間)('75-'84) 매년연용시(每年連用時) 년차간(年次間) 벼수량(收量)의 변화(變化)와 토양(土壤)의 이화학적(理化學的) 성질변화(性質變化) 및 10년차(年次)('84)의 벼 생육(生育)과 경엽 및 곡실(穀實)의 영양상태(營養狀態)를 분석(分析)하여 수량반응(收量反應)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 비교검토(比較檢討)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 10개년간(個年間)의 평균정조수량(平均正租收量)은 삼요소(三要素) 대조구(對照區)에 비(比)하여 규산(珪酸) 150kg/10a 연용구(連用區)는 16%의 증수효과(增收効果)가 있었으나, 규산(珪酸) 250kg/10a 연용구(連用區)는 다소(多少) 감수(減收)되는 경향(傾向)이었다. 2. 수확기(收穫期) 식물체(植物體) 경엽중 가리(加里)의 흡수량(吸收量)과 정조수량(正租收量) 및 대중과는 정(正)의 유의상관(有意相關)이 인정(認定)되었다. 3. 규산(珪酸)150kg/10a 연용구(連用區)는 250kg/10a 연용구(連用區)에 비(比)하여 질소(窒素), 인산(燐酸), 가리등(加里等)의 흡수량(吸收量)은 많았으나, 반면(反面) 석회(石灰), 고토(苦土), 그리고 규산(珪酸)의 흡수량(吸收量)은 적었다. 특(特)히 타양분(他養分)에 비(比)하여 질소(窒素)의 이용율(利用率)이 현저(顯著)히 높았으나, 반면(反面) 규산(珪酸)의 이용율(利用率)은 낮았다. 4. 규산(珪酸)250kg/10a 연용구(連用區)는 150kg/10a 연용구(連用區)에 비(比)하여 질소(窒素), 가리(加里) 및 규산(珪酸)의 곡실(穀實)로의 전이율(轉移率)이 현저(顯著)히 감소(減少)되었다. 5. 10개년간(個年間) 평균치(平均値) 및 10년차(年次)의 토양중(土壤中) 유기물(有機物) 함량(含量)은 증수효과(增收効果)가 컸던 규산(珪酸)150kg/10a 연용구(連用區)가 가장 많았고, 수량(收量)이 다소(多少) 감수(減收)된 규산(珪酸)250kg/10a 연용구(連用區)는 유기물(有機物)의 함량(含量)은 적었으나 유효규산(有効珪酸)의 함량(含量)은 가장 많았다.

수도상자육묘용(水稻箱子育苗用) 상토자재개발(床土資材開發) (Development of soil media for raising rice seedlings in trays)

  • 수도육묘용(水稻育苗用) 상토(床土)의 자가제조이용(自家製造利用)을 목적(目的)으로 상토개발(床土開發)을 연탄재를 활용(活用)하여 수행(遂行)하였으며 일반(一般) 논양토(壤土) 및 산양토(壤土)를 대조(對照)로 하여 육묘시험(育苗試驗)을 한 결과(結果) 연탄재 단독(單獨)에서는 건물중(乾物重)이 다소 떨어졌으나 연탄재+제오라이트, 연탄재+규조토(硅藻土)에서는 대조(對照)와 대등(對等)하였다. 한편 상토(床土)의 pH는 연탄재단독(單獨)과 토양(土壤)에 퇴비(堆肥)를 혼합(混合)한 상토(床土)에서 높아 립고병(立枯病)이 발병(發病)되었다. 토양(土壤)에 퇴비(堆肥)를 혼합(混合)하지 않고도 양묘(良苗)의 육성(育成)이 가능(可能)하였으며 특(特)히 연탄재를 이용(利用)하여 제조(製造)한 상토(床土)에서도 양묘(良苗)의 육성(育成)이 가능(可能)하였다.

하수종말처리장 방류수를 밭작물 관개용수로 처리시 시금치와 배추의 생육, 대장균 분포 및 토양의 질 평가 (Growth Response and Total Coliform Distribution of Spinach and Chinese Cabbage and Soil Quality by Irrigation of Domestic Wastewater)

  • The experiment was carried out to determine the distribution of total coliform the translocation of heavy metals and the salt accumulation in soils following the supply of ground water, the domestic wastewater and the ultraviolet treatment of domestic wastewater during the spinach and the chinese cabbage cultivation. There were not much changes in the Total-N, Total-P and cations in soils following the ultraviolet treatment of the domestic wastewater. However, the density of total coliform was dramatically reduced from 894MPN/100mL to 5MPN/100mL. The diagnosis of composition of soil after the harvest of chinese cabbages and spinach has shown that the concentration of Na$^+$ was 3-4 times higher in plot using domestic wastewater than in plot using ground water. When domestic wastewater and ground water were used in growing spinach md chinese cabbage at 50% each, the application of chemical fertilizers reduced about 25% to 50% compared to the criteria set down by the Rural Development Administration and there was not significant difference in terms of harvest. Using non-ultraviolet treatment of domestic wastewater directly on spinach and chinese cabbage has resulted in excessive density of total coliform at 25,000MPN/100mL. Even when ultraviolet treatment, the density was still high at 2,000MPN/100mL. The high density of total coliform even following ultraviolet treatment of domestic wastewater is considered to be caused by photo-reactivation of micro-organism. When reusing domestic wastewater, the application of sterilization such as ultraviolet, ultrasonic and electron-beam for public health and hygiene reasons may provide safe supply of agricultural water.

Comparative Efficacy of Some Selected Plant Derived Biopesticides for the Control of Insect Pests of Cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.) in Katsina State, Nigeria

  • Field trial was conducted at the Research Farm of the Katsina State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority during the farming season of 2004 with a view to evaluate/determine the efficacy of some selected plant-derived biopesticides against the insect pests of cowpea as well as their effect on yield. The variety of the cowpea used was IT86D-719 and the plant derived biopesticides evaluated during the trial were chilli pepper, garlic, ginger, neem, sweetsop and tobacco. The experimental field was ploughed, harrowed and thereafter ridged before the commencement of the 2004 planting season. A total of twenty one (21) experimental plots were demarcated and arranged into seven treatment plots. The size of each plot was $5m{\times}4m$ while interspaces between adjacent plot and blocks were 1m and 2m, respectively. Results of the experiments showed that all the plant-derived biopesticide treatments were significantly (p>0.05) better than control treatment. The order of effectiveness of the treatments was tobacco (80-90%), sweetsop (75-85%), garlic (70-80), neem (72-78%), chilli pepper (60-70%) and ginger (30-50%). Furthermore, yield result corresponded positively with the effectiveness of the treatments. Results of the present finding suggest the use of tobacco, sweetsop and garlic as promising biopesticides in the control of cowpea insect pests.

실경작지 밭의 비점오염물질 저감을 위한 지표피복재 적용 (Application of the Surface Cover Materials for Reduction of NPS Pollution from Actual Cultivation)

  • Four actual cultivations were prepared and a variety of soybean was cultivated. A H-flume, an automatic water level gauge and an automatic water sampler were installed at the outlet of each plot equipped for the measurement of flow rate and its water quality. The amount of rainfall of the study area in 2013 was measured as 975.6 mm which was much lower than the annual average rainfall of 1,271.8 mm, resulting in less occurrences in rainfall-runoff events. Rainfall-runoff events were occurred three times during the rainfall event of 4~5 July, 23 and 24 August. The characteristics of NPS pollution discharge of the plots and the reduction effect of the selected BMPs were analyzed during these events. The reduction effect of straw mat and soil amendments (Polyacrylamide (PAM) and Gypsum) on runoff ratio ranged between 38.2 and 92.9% (average 71.6%). The NPS pollution load reduced between 27.7 and 95.1% (average 70.0%) by the application of rice straw mat and soil conditioner when compared with that of control plot. Soybean yield (2,133.3 kg/ha) of the straw mat covered plots increased by 14.3% when compared with control (1,866.7 kg/ha). The effect of straw mat on the yield was not economically viable if the material and accompanying labor costs were considered. The data collected and analyzed on different soil textures and crops in this study are expected to be a fundamental reference for the expansion of the results to the application nationwide and the development of NPS pollution management policies.

고온과 고농도 $CO_2$ 조건에서 배추와 무의 생육 반응 및 탄소 고정량 (Growth Response and $CO_2$ Biomass of Chinese Cabbage and Radish under High Temperature and $CO_2$ Concentration)

  • This experiment was carried out to figure out the $CO_2$ biomass and the growth response of Chinese cabbage and radish grown under the condition of high temperature and high $CO_2$ concentration to provide the information for the coming climatic change. Chinese cabbage and radish were cultivated in spring and autumn seasons under 4 treatments, 'ambient temp.+ambient $CO_2$ conc.', 'ambient temp.+elevated $CO_2$ conc.', 'elevated temp.+ ambient $CO_2$ conc.', and 'elevated temp. +elevated $CO_2$ conc.'. The 'elevated temp,' plot was maintained at 5 higher than 'ambient temp. (outside temperature)'and the 'elevated $CO_2$ cone.' plot was done in 650 ppm $CO_2$. The growth of spring-sown Chinese cabbage was worse than autumn-sown one, and was affected more by high temperature than high $CO_2$. concentration. The $CO_2$ biomass of Chinese cabbage was lower as 25.1-39.1 g/plant in spring-sown one than 54.8-63.4 g/plant of autumn-sown one. Daily $CO_2$2 fixation ability was not significantly different between spring- and autumn-sown Chinese cabbage as 1.9-2.9, 2.7-3.1 kg/10a/day, respectively. The $CO_2$ biomass of radish were 87.4-104.6 /plant in spring-sown one and 51.3$\sim$76.4 g/plant in autumn-sown one. Daily $CO_2$ fixation ability of radish were 6.2-10.1 kg/10a/day in spring-sown one and 4.6-6.9 kg/10a/day in autumn-sown one.

Depression and the Risk of Breast Cancer: A Meta-Analysis of Cohort Studies

  • Background: Whether depression causes increased risk of the development of breast cancer has long been debated. We conducted an updated meta-analysis of cohort studies to assess the association between depression and risk of breast cancer. Materials and Methods: Relevant literature was searched from Medline, Embase, Web of Science (up to April 2014) as well as manual searches of reference lists of selected publications. Cohort studies on the association between depression and breast cancer were included. Data abstraction and quality assessment were conducted independently by two authors. Random-effect model was used to compute the pooled risk estimate. Visual inspection of a funnel plot, Begg rank correlation test and Egger linear regression test were used to evaluate the publication bias. Results: We identified eleven cohort studies (182,241 participants, 2,353 cases) with a follow-up duration ranging from 5 to 38 years. The pooled adjusted RR was 1.13(95% CI: 0.94 to 1.36; $I^2=67.2%$, p=0.001). The association between the risk of breast cancer and depression was consistent across subgroups. Visual inspection of funnel plot and Begg's and Egger's tests indicated no evidence of publication bias. Regarding limitations, a one-time assessment of depression with no measure of duration weakens the test of hypothesis. In addition, 8 different scales were used for the measurement of depression, potentially adding to the multiple conceptual problems concerned with the definition of depression. Conclusions: Available epidemiological evidence is insufficient to support a positive association between depression and breast cancer.

K-DRUM 개선을 위한 초기토양함수 자동보정기법 개발 (A Development of Auto-Calibration for Initial Soil Condition in K-DRUM Model)

  • 본 연구에서는 격자강우량과 격자기반의 GIS수문 매개변수와 연계하여 홍수기 유출량의 시공간적 분포를 파악할 수 있도록 물리적인 운동파 이론에 근거한 분포형 강우-유출모형인 K-DRUM을 자체 개발하였다. 이 모형은 홍수 기동안의 지표흐름과 지표하 흐름의 시간적 변화와 공간적 분포를 모의할 수 있으며, 전처리과정으로서 ArcView 를 이용하여 모형에 필요한 ASCII형태의 입력 매개변수 자료들을 가공하였다. 또한 후처리과정으로서 모형의 수행결과인 유역내의 유출량 분포 등을 GIS상에서 나타낼 수 있도록 ASCII형태로 출력하도록 구성하였으며 TecPlot 을 이용하여 유출량을 에니메이션으로 표현하였다. 또한, 유출량에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 초기토양함수 상태에 대한 자동보정기법을 추가 개발하였으며, 남강댐유역을 대상으로 기저유출해석을 수행하여 개발된 자동보정기법의 활용가능성을 검토하였다. K-DRUM모형의 초기토양함수조건을 설정하는데 있어서 자동보정기법을 적용함으로써 기존의 시행착오법으로 인해 소요되는 시간과 부정확한 설정으로 발생될 수 있는 문제점을 해결할 수 있었다.

지속가능한 산림경영에 적합한 표본조사 방법의 개발 (Development of a Forest Inventory System for the Sustainable Forest Management)

  • 본 연구는 지속가능한 산림경영에 적합한 표본조사 방법을 제시하기 위해 계통적 추출법, 계통적 집락추출법, 그리고 층화집락추출법을 이용하여 경기도 양평군의 산림을 대상으로 자료를 수집한 후 통계검증을 실시하였다. 표본조사 방법은 계통적 집락추출법이 가장 효율적인 것으로 분석되었는데, 계통적 집락추출법을 적용할 경우 집락의 형태와 집락 내의 표본점 간의 거리를 결정하기 위해 5가지 집락의 형태와 표본점간의 거리 4가지에 대하여 통계검증을 실시하였다. 그 결과 집락의 형태는 삼각형 그리고 집락 내의 표본점 간의 거리는 50m가 가장 적합할 것으로 평가되었다.

  • As the demand for slim laptops requires ion'-height optical disc drives, vibration problems of optical disc drives are of great concern. Additionally, with the decrease of a track width and a depth of focus in high density drives, studies on vibration resonance between mechanical parts become more important. From the vibration point of view, the performance of optical disc drives is closely related with the relative displacement between a disc and an objective lens which is controlled by servo mechanism. In other words, to read and write data properly, the relative displacement between an optical disc and an objective lens should be within a certain limit. The relative displacement is dependent on not only an anti-vibration mechanism design but also servo control capability. Good servo controls can make compensation for poor mechanisms, and vice versa. In a usual development process, robustness of the anti-vibration mechanism is always verified with the servo control of an objective lens. Engineers partially modify servo gain margin in case of a data reading error. This modification cannot correct the data reading error occasionally and the mechanism should be redesigned more robustly. Therefore it is necessary to verify a mechanism with respect to the possible servo gain plot. In this study we propose the experimental verification method far anti-vibration mechanism with respect to the existing servo gain plot. This method verifies axial vibration characteristics of optical disc drives on the basis of transmissibility. Using this method, we verified our mechanism and modified the mechanism for better anti-vibration characteristics.
