  • For this study, the 'Game Activities' lessons presented in the math textbooks from the 1st grade to the 6th were examined in terms of learning materials, the learning members' make-up, the playing structures, and the relation with the contents. In addition, the survey by means of questionnaires was conducted to analyze the actual condition of teachers' guidance in the field. The findings from this research were as follows: First, as for the activities presented in the textbooks, it turned out that too much emphasis is placed upon plays mainly using learning materials such as cards and dice played by teams of two. In addition, there have been shown negative aspects in various ways of plays putting too much emphasis on certain types of plays such as and structures. As for the relation with the contents, although lots of efforts were taken to connect the playing activity to the lesson contents, there were units presenting plays based on the preceding lesson's repeated activity, ones that have weak link with the contents. Second, it turned out that the teachers had negative attitude on the guidance using the 'Game Activities' lesson, although they were aware of the effects of playing in math learning. This seemed to result from the delicate variety and insufficient preparation for the play. Besides, the findings indicate that the appreciation and activity of the 'Game Activities' lesson presented as a way of performance evaluation. for play need to be provided in school or classrooms for teachers and students to make good use of them.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of using the play with multiplication activities based on Skemp's theory for mathematics achievements and attitudes toward mathematics of elementary school students. For this study, we rearranged Skemp's play activities according to our curriculum in the area of multiplication and applied them to the 2nd grade classes of an elementary school. The plays with multiplication activities were applied to the experimental group while traditional teaching method was used with the current mathematics textbook for the comparative group. We obtained the following conclusions: First, in terms of mathematics achievement, the experimental group who used the plays with multiplication activities based on Skemp's theory didn't show significant difference with the comparative group. Second, it proved that the plays with multiplication activities based on Skemp's theory was more effective for lower level of students than the higher level of students. Third, the plays with multiplication activities based on Skemp's theory have positive effects on improving students' attitudes toward mathematics. We need to use the plays with multiplication activities based on Skemp's theory in the classrooms and find problems with the applying the activities. In addition, we need to develop a more various activities based on Skemp's theory for a better teaching.

  • 'The Orphan of Zhao family(Zhaoshi-Guer)'is one of the famous Chinese drama constantly transmitted for a long time from Yuan Dynasty to Qing Dynasty. The plot of the play in the transmitting process has not been changed much, but added new characters or episodes. The Kunqu, one of the Chinese drama styles was characterized by graceful music and refined literature, being very popular among the gentry of Ming and Qing Dynasty. The 'Zhaoshi-Guer' play in 'chuanqi' style of the 'The Sixty Plays' collection, is called 'Ba-yi-ji', which was sung in Kunqu崑曲 stage. Because 'The Sixty Plays' collection was widely read throughout the late Ming and Qing Dynasty, the 'The Sixty Plays' version became the model of Kunqu lineage example and so it was in the case of "Ba-yi-ji". In the end of the Ming, new performing type of drama that is called as Zhe-zi-xi(折子戱) was appeared. Zhe-zi-xi refers to make only some pieces, not the whole. With the new form of performance appeared many of the selected texts of plays have come out including 'Zui-bai-qiu'. Through the comparison between the pices of two Kunqu version, 'The Sixty Plays' and 'Zui-bai-qiu', I tried to observe the charisteristics of the Ba-Yi-ji performance of Qing dynasty. The latter succeded the former, but more performance oriented, such as using lively and easy word with the acting direction intensified and comic characters.

  • This thesis examines the play education method shown in the elementary school textbook 'Enjoy Play'. If the educational methods of the curriculum other than plays were presented in the order of 'Understanding play - Appreciation of Works - Creation of Works', the method of drama education is presented sequentially in the order of 'Understanding play - Creation of Works - Appreciation of Works' in the order of 'Understanding play - Artwork - Appreciation' have. Even if such a curriculum considers the study linked to the subject of 'Plays', students may not feel the 'burden' of 'creation', and by simplifying the understanding of 'spoken language', it is rather the characteristic of 'Korean language'. It may also make it difficult for students to feel the attraction. In addition, empathy through the conflict situation of the play or comparison with the actual conflict is mainly presented through the translation of foreign works or the expression of a fairy tale and fantastic world that is far from reality, so the burden of inferring the right life problems can be confirmed. Theatrical expressions and plays and plays learned through textbooks are partially different depending on the educational goals to be achieved. The result of this study is that the course of textbooks for elementary and upper grades may correspond to the problem of expressing 'Plays', but it is regrettable in leading students to think about ways to solve life problems in detail through 'Plays'. It is also necessary to emphasize the importance of expression that makes students realize how to express themselves autonomously in the way of expressing their feelings, but on the other hand, on the other hand, it is necessary to share empathy with feelings first, understand these feelings, Therefore, it was suggested that training to infer expressions and emotions by learning individual expressions through methods of expressing emotions and a process of educating students to voluntarily accept shared emotions are also necessary. Sharing and expressing emotional emotions through 'play', and participation through cooperation and division of labor through the process of performing.

  • The main concern of the study is the playwrights' perspectives toward the relationship between society and individuals rather than specific cultural or social circumstances. This study is justified in that the similarities of both playwrights not only provide an opportunity to bridge two different cultures, but they also help readers understand another culture and deepen the understanding of their own culture in the map of international literature. In their plays, both Miller and Cha express an individual's or a family's frustration, conflict, pleasure, and hope as reflected in the social circumstances. The characters take ideas and values from their social world and thrive or fail. Specifically, I have focused on three elements--obsession, generational value systems, and alienation. With three common features, I examine how closely Miller and Cha deal with ordinary people's tragedies.

  • Parallel type fuzzy controller is designed by using a hybrid connected type fuzzy-PID controller and a model reference fuzzy controller. The first controller, consists of a fuzzy-PI and a fuzzy-PD making a hybrid type fuzzy-PID controller, plays a role as firstly reaching stable responses and secondly overcoming disturbance in plants. The second controller, model reference fuzzy controller, plays a role as reaching faster responses than other controllers. We have confirmed that the controller produces rapid and stable responses and overcomes disturbance by using parallel type fuzzy controller in a DC motor application.

  • Objective : Ginseng is one of most widely used herbal medicine. Ginseng showed anti-metastasis activities. However, its molecular mechanisms of action are unknown. So we want to report the wild ginseng repress which plays key roles in neoplastic epithelial-mesenchymal transition process. Methods : Treatment of the human colorectal carcinoma LOVO cells and human gastric carcinoma SNU601 cells with the increased concentrations of cultivated wild ginseng extracts resulted in a gradual decrease in the AXIN2 gene expression. Results : Metastasis-suppressor genes, maspin and nm23 was not affected by the treatment of ginseng extracts in LOVO cells. Moreover, the mountain cultivated wild ginseng or mountain wild ginseng are similar in their inhibitory effects on the expression of AXIN2 gene, but are substantially stronger than cultivated ginseng. Conclusion : We described the novel mechanism of wild ginseng-induced anti-metastasis activity by repressing the expression of AXIN2 gene that plays key roles in epithelial-mesenchymal transition process.

  • Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) plays formation of disulfide bonds and proper folding of secretory proteins. Cellular responses to ER stress enhances the stress-activated kinase pathway and the induces a lot of immediate-early genes. Among of them, the early growth response-1 (Egr-1), a transcription factor, which plays an important role in cell growth, development, differentiation, apoptosis and various types of injury. For that reason, we have tested the expression of Egr-1 against ER stress inducible drugs (tunicamycin, DTT, A23187 and BFA) to understand what kind of aspect occurred by ER stresses.

  • This study was to investigate practical methods for activity-based nutrition education for elementary school students, which help them understand the knowledge of food and nutrition and apply it to their day-to-day lives practically. The concept and necessity for activity-based nutrition education Were investigated and practical nutrition education methods based on activities were developed by referring to literatures related to activity based loaming and nutrition education methods. Activity-based nutrition education is a set of methods by which better food and nutrition habits are introduced by means of various activities, such as nutritional plays and games, story composing, nutritional songs, nutritional diaries, role plays, discussion and cooking. Elementary nutrition education should be based on various activities that take into consideration the children's intellectual and physical development because these students are in a concrete operational stage and they are naturally active, curious, and inquisitive. Thus, various activities were developed for elementary nutrition education, and educational effect and~ teaching methods are suggested. Children can be highly motivated and naturally absorb knowledge and desirable attitudes with respect to food and nutrition by means of these activities because they take into consideration the age and intellectual levels of the children.

  • The Wnt signaling pathway plays pivotal roles in embryonic development and oncogenesis through various signaling molecules inculding Frizzled receptor, recently characterized LRP5/6 and Dickkopf protein. Although Wnt signaling has been characterized in both developmental and oncogenic processes, little is known about its function in the normal adult. The ability of LRP5 to bind apolipoprotein E(apoE) and the abundant expression of LRP5 transcripts in hepatocytes, raise the possibility that LRP5 plays a role in the hepatic clearance of ApoE-containing chylomicron remonants, a major plasma lipoprotein carrying diet-derived cholesterol.
