국내 원자력발전소 사고 예측 (Predicting Nuclear Power Plant Accidents in Korea)

  • We develop a statistical model to describe nuclear power plant accidents and predict time to next accident of various levels. We adopt Bayesian approach to obtain posterior and predictive distributions for the time to next accident. We also derive an approximation method to solve many dimensional numerical integration problems that we often encounter in a Bayesian approach. We introduce Influence Diagrams in modeling, and parameter updating, thereby the dependency or independency among model parameters are clearly shown. Also Separable Updating Theorem is utilized to easily obtain the posterior distributions.

  • Corrosion of steam generator tubes is the major issue affecting selection of secondary water chemistry parameters. The objective of secondary side water chemistry control is to minimize corrosion damage and to thereby maximize the reliability and economic performance of the secondary system. To achieve this objective, the water chemistry has to be compatible with all parts of the system including steam generators.(Omitted)

  • The excitation control system of an emergency diesel generator is classified as a kind of safety-related system. Compared with other control systems in a power plant, this system is required to be more reliable and have better performance. In this paper, the digital multi-redundant excitation system for a diesel generator was proposed. The signal processing system of the proposed system makes high speed signal processing and arithmetic in excitation control possible. The improved soft start algorithm and multiple PI parameters adaptation considering the diesel generator characteristics were implemented in the proposed system. The developed system was applied to a nuclear power plant successfully.

  • In this paper, first the thermodynamic model is presented to one of the super heaters and sprays of the Nekka power plant and then its unknown parameters are identified according to the registered data of the power plant. SCO control method is introduced to control the external steam temperature of super heater. Finally the conventional method in power plant for controlling external steam temperature of super heater is compared with new method and their performances are presented..

  • 선형 플랜트의 극한 이득과 주기를 찾기 위해 포화함수를 이용하여 자기 진동을 발생 시켰다. 포화함수 사용으로 극한이득과 주기의 정확성을 높였다. 발견한 극한 이득과 극한 주기는 PID 제어기 값을 구하는데 사용하였다. 정적인 부하 왜란 등이 있는 경우 비대칭 진동이 발생할 수 있다. 발생하는 비대칭 자기 진동을 분석하였고 분석결과로부터 극한 이득과 주기를 찾는 방법을 제안하였다.

참다래 과수나무의 바람 피해 저감을 위한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study for Reducing Wind Damage on Kiwi Fruit Plant)

  • In this study, the threshold wind speed that causes physical damage on Kiwi fruit plant was investigated through wind tunnel experiments. Total 30 samples of Kiwi fruit branches were tested. On average, the wind speeds for tearing leaves and breaking side branch from the main branch were about 20m/s and 21.7m/s, respectively. For the cases of broken branches, the average length and diameter of the branches were 587.5mm and 7.2mm, respectively. The discoloration and dehydration of Kiwi plant were also observed by photographing leaves and branches after 24 hour later of the wind damage. In addition, the shelter effect of porous wind fences which have been used at agricultural districts was examined with varying several parameters.

  • The sulfur oxides is one of important materials to come about air pollution at thermal plant consuming fossil fuel. The several flue gas desulfurization equipments are installed and operated to decrease sulfur oxides. The flue gas desulfurization of our thermal plant is designed for optimizing flue gas desulfurization technical development and research by Korea Electric Power Research Institute. We operate this desulfurization equipment. Now, our country imports nearly 97 percentage of the energy source and competes with the world for the energy because of the rise of raw materials cost. The fuel cost decrease of power plants is the most important factor of the operation. The fuel used in the experiment is the domestic anthracite from Kangwon Taeback and the bituminous coal from Russia,Taldinsky Mine. This Study is experimental investigations of desulfurization characteristics for domestic anthracite power plant by increasing bituminous coal. We surveyed possible parameters and conducted the performance about desulfurization equipment in Y.D thermal power plant.

  • This paper presents the numerical analysis of process of sludge drying to know the characteristics of design parameters and develop the new process plant. Finite volume method and $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model were used to analogy the sludge drying furnace. It has been attempted to perform the disposal of sewage sludge such as simple reclaiming and dumping in sea and incineration. Currently, these methods are restricted by national or international government regulations. The drying process is adopted as an effective method for sewage sludge treatment. However sewage sludge makes it difficult to treat with a large volume at the real drying process plant because of its own complicated physical, chemical, and thermal properties. The final design value of moisture content with 10% of the dried sludge can be obtained through the simulated outputs in this study.

  • The yo-yo system has been introduced as an interesting plant to demonstrate the effectiveness of intelligent controllers. Having nonlinear and asymmetric characteristics, the yo-yo plant requires a controller quite different from conventional controllers such as PID. In this paper is presented an adaptive method of controlling the yo-yo system. Fuzzy logic controller based on human expertise is referred at first. Then, an adaptive fuzzy controller which has adaptation features against the variation of plant parameters is proposed. Finally, experimental results are presented.

Safety Analysis on the Tritium Release Accidents

  • At the design stage of a plant, the plausible causes and pathways of release of hazardous materials are not clearly known. Thus there exist large amount of uncertainties on the consequences resulting from the operation of a fusion plant. In order to better handle such uncertain circumstances, we utilize the Probabilistic Risk Assessment(PRA) for the safety analyses on fusion power plant. In this paper, we concentrate on the tritium release accident. We develop a simple model that describes the process and flow of tritium, by which we figure out the locations of tritium inventory and their vulnerability. We construct event tree models that lead to various levels of tritium release from abnormal initiating events. Branch parameters on the event tree are assessed from the fault tree analysis. Based on the event tree models we construct influence diagram models which are more useful for the parameter updating and analysis. We briefly discuss the parameter updating scheme, and finally develop the methodology to obtain the predictive distribution of consequences resulting from the operating a fusion power plant. We also discuss the way to utilize the results of testing on sub-systems to reduce the uncertain ties on over all system.
