The necessity of urban regeneration is recently increasing because of the deterioration existing urban area and the slowdown of new development operations. The urban regeneration is differentiated from other private operations by its public characters, which is the basis of public support. This character demands verification of the adequacy for public finance support by monitoring urban regeneration planning and operation. Therefore, this study aims to show the monitoring indicators and its application in legal system for urban regeneration through the examination of foreign countries cases. London, San Francisco, and France urbanism regulation and planning system show the measure for introducing urban regeneration monitoring system into korean urbanism institution. This study is significant by suggesting the circulation structure of urban regeneration by linking planning, operations and monitoring phases. The monitoring system permits improvement of urban regeneration by clarifying objects and ameliorating efficiency by continuos observation and application of its evaluation.
This paper considers a strategy for planning of rework in semiconductor monitoring burn-in test process. The equipment error in monitoring burn-in test process generates many defects. These defects are transformed into good products by rework process, i.e. retest. Rework has the advantage of saving production costs. But rework increases holding costs and incurs rework costs. In monitoring burn-in test process, rework depends on operator's experience with no pre-defined specification. In practice, a number of rework activities are performed with respect to the product importance and inventory quantity. Moreover, disregard for order jobs schedule have caused due date penalties. So a strategy for planning of rework by which order jobs schedule are not affected is suggested. Futhermore, production costs, rework costs and inventory costs for planning of rework are considered.

Power quality monitoring is the cornerstone for power quality analysis, diagnosis and improvement. The measurement of power quality (PQ) evolves from instantaneous metering to continuous monitoring. Furthermore, recent technologies enable us to construct more flexible, reliable, rapid and economical power quality monitoring system (PQMS). Therefore, this paper presents an improved PQMS with a new distributed monitoring structure. The proposed PQMS consists of a PQ meter, PQ analyzer and GUI. The PQ meter only collects raw data and the PQ analyzer performs power quality analysis. It has several advantages compared to conventional structures in economic efficiency, modularity, speed, etc. PQ monitoring algorithms to catch steady-state trends and to detect PQ events are also adapted to the proposed structure. Using the proposed structure and monitoring algorithm, a prototype PQMS is constructed and real-time testing is performed.

This paper analyzes three theories for land degradation assessment and internationl/domestic methods for land degradation monitoring and assessment. Under the guidance of absolute degradation thought, this paper proposes the technological framework for monitoring and appraising cultivated land degradation based on the 3S technique. We can apply 3S technique and analyze the nature, the environmental, the social, and the economic elements which influence the land utilization and degradation synthetically, to set up the indicator system of the cultivated land degradation monitoring and assessment based on 3S technique; to propose the degradation information extraction methods based on 3S technique; to create the quantitative assessment model and method for land degradation; to analyze the ecological environment response of land use and degradation quantitatively; and to propose the measure, policy and suggestion for solving the land degradation problem from the point of view of land utilization.
We present an orienteering problem with unknown stochastic reward(OPUSR) model for persistent monitoring tasks with unknown event probabilities at each point of interest. Prior studies on orienteering problem for persistent monitoring task assume that rewards and event probabilities are known as a prior. In this paper, we propose a stochastic reward model with unknown event statistics and a path re-planning algorithm based on Bayesian reward inference. Experiments demonstrate the efficiency of our method.
This study aimed to resolve issues in performance monitoring of the ecological sector of the Agricultural Environment Conservation Program through a comparative study of domestic ecological monitoring cases and to identify suitable performance monitoring methods for the project. To achieve this objective, current performance monitoring of the Agricultural Environment Conservation Program was compared and analyzed with domestic ecological monitoring cases to examine their applicability. Research results indicate that domestic ecological monitoring covers a wide range, making it difficult to diagnose the ecological environment at the village level. Therefore, it seems challenging to use these data for evaluating the performance of residents' activities. To accurately assess performances of participating villages in the project, on-site monitoring of the target areas is essential. For this purpose, efforts should be focused on strengthening on-site monitoring through the establishment of collaborative systems. However, domestic ecological monitoring can be utilized for long-term performance monitoring in the Agricultural Environment Conservation Program. By extracting necessary data on agricultural areas through geographic information and particularly by utilizing survey results according to the 'cultivated land ecosystem' type, long-term performance of the project could be evaluated. Accordingly, this study can serve as foundational research for establishing an ecological performance monitoring plan and system suited to the project.
The ultimate goal of health promotion programs is to improve the quality of life through promoting community health. Since the performance of health promotion programs are greatly affected by the quality of the planning and implementation process of the programs, the proper quality assessment of the program process is very important. According to existing literature, the tool for assessing the quality of the process and implementation as well as the outcome. However, no assessment tool for the quality of the process of health promotion programs has been developed in Korea. The purpose of the study is to develop a quality assessment tool for the process of health promotion programs being conducted at public health centers in Korea. The quality assessment tool developed in the study consists of the following four domains: strategic planning (14 items), program management (11 items), monitoring and evaluation (13 items), and resources and information (15 items). The strategic planning deals with the function of the planning staff and committees, community data analysis, the feasibility of the program, and the approach methods for attaining the goal of the program. The program management includes items on the qualification and power of the program staff. Monitoring and evaluation deals with the planning and education for monitoring, reporting and communication among program units, and feedback after monitoring. Finally, the resource and information covers the planning and activities for obtaining resources and information, community networking, beneficiaries' response, and consulting activity of the staff.
This paper presents a multi-robot path planner for environment exploration and monitoring. Robotics systems are being widely used as data measurement tools, especially in dangerous environment. For large scale environment monitoring, multiple robots are required in order to save time. The path planner should not only consider the collision avoidance but efficient coordination of robots for optimal measurements. Nonlinear spring force based planning algorithm is integrated with the spatial gradient following path planner. Perturbation/Correlation based estimation of spatial gradient is applied. An algorithm of tuning the stiffness for robot coordination is presented. The performance of the proposed algorithm is discussed with simulation results.
In this paper, we describe an intelligent monitoring and control system for pick-up/delivery service. This system applies geographical information system(GIS), global positioning system(GPS) and wireless communication technologies for managing pick-up/delivery operations more effectively. It consists of three subsystems, pick-up/delivery sequence planning system, pick-up/delivery monitoring system, and PDA execution system. Pick-up/delivery sequence planning system generates routes and schedules for pick-up/delivery using GIS and optimization techniques. Pick-up/delivery monitoring system monitors current positions of vehicles and actual pick-up/delivery results as compared with planned routes and visit times, while PDA execution system transmits information for vehicles positions and actual pick-up/delivery results using GPS and wireless communication technologies. The intelligent monitoring and control system is currently being used for the pick-up parcel service in a local post office of Korea Post.
