Motivated by the need fir developing the new method of weed control in place of chemical weedicide, this paper aims at making good use of electricity against environmental pollution. Compared with chemical weedicide, the electric method of weed control is functionally more versatile, effectively more rapid, and lower in terms of cost. In particular, this method will contribute to environmental protection. In detail the electrical weed control system which is the simple circuit for generating the electric current of high voltage is comprised of step-up transformer which rectifies the current and the capacitor which stores the energy. The effectiveness of electrical weed control system is evaluated by germination rate and control of Dgitaria Sangvinalis(Galinsoga ciliate). As a result, the electrical weed control system(high voltage spark discharge) can kill weeds effectively

This study analyzed the priority of decision-making attributes considered as the customers select the family restaurant with Analytic Hierarchy Process, which is the method for quantitative analysis. The result of analysis revealed that the food factor in the first stage of evaluation attributes was the most important and in the second stage, an atmosphere factor of place, an affiliated card factor of promotion, a taste factor of food and a kind attitude factor of employee were important respectively.

The Institute of Contemporary Art has gathered, arranged and exchanged historical data and a variety of information of art. It also aims at Helping revitalize artistic activities and develop diverse areas of art among regions. This scheme for revitalization of art includes holding seminars, international exhibitions or regional exchange exhibitions, publishing papers, and enhancing art education. This paper provides a view of what the Institute of Contemporary Art at Kunsan University has done so far, pursues better ways for revitalization of artistic activities, and suggests a future-oriented approach for making the institute a place for regional exchange of modem art and design.

Information, or the lack of information, is the central concern of many people. And it is now an economic resource and must be paid. An ever increasing gap will grow between information 'have' and 'have not'. The new communications market place is a social phenomenon, and a vital key to examining changing patterns of social and cultural inequality. There are two main arenas of action in this ongoing conflict. Inside the library system itself, a combination of forces is weakening the historic principle of free, socially underwritten access. Outside, great efforts have been exerted in recent years, by private interests, to capture the information stockpiles built up from tax-su n.0, pported outlays on research and development and general governmental activities that produce data. The for-profit a n.0, pplication of the new information technologies threatens the survival of the free access principles. And the commercialization of information is proceeding almost uninterruptedly. It has been extended into areas that historically have been regarded as non-profit-making and endowed with a deep public interest. This study discussed some general issues and what we should do.

False-tripping of MCCB(Molded Case Circuit Breaker) and ELB(Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker), using to protect overload and ground-fault accidents in power system raise direct and indirect losses like as information loss, facilities damage, slipup of goods production in industry place. Cause of false-tipping of MCCB and ELB is various and cause analysis of false-tripping is mostly made up by inference because trip is not reappeared. This paper investigated and analyzed causes and influences of false-tripping of MCCB and ELB by making up a question to safety managers of two hundred and eighteen electrical facilities for private use. Also, the necessity of experimental study on the effect of harmonics on false-tipping of MCCB and ELB was presented.

The cases of welders illness by welding fume generated during arc welding are recently reported, which makes the legal regulation in the welding work place. Also, this situation makes the employers and welders be concerned about the welding fume seriously. At this point of time it is necessary that a standard testing method is developed as a fundamental tool for the evaluation of Fume Generation Rate(FGR) required for making progress in the development of low fume electrodes and welding process technology and also constructing the ventilation system in welding area. However, the current standard(KS D 0062) is only applicable to the manual covered electrode arc welding. In this study the evaluation procedure for the FGR is established by developing the fume collection chamber which can be applicable to semiautomatic and automatic arc welding as well as manual arc welding. This evaluation system and procedure can be used as a tool not only to develop the low fume welding electrode and welding process technology but also to construct the equipment controlling the welding workshop atmosphere.

A hybrid simulation model consists of real physical entities as well as simulated ones. It also contains logical processes for decision making for each operation units, a group of the entities. During the execution of such simulations, the physical and the logical processes consume real clock time while the activity durations of the simulated ones are generated. Due to the inherent chracteristics of the subjects of the communication channels. Since one can not undo an real event already taken place, the traditional central clock approach is used for the synchronization of the events(Kim[6]). However, there are still chances of causality errors due to the randomness in the communication delays. This error is not found in the distributed pure simulations. This paper explains the error in details and proposes a prevention scheme that is simple to implement.

Hardware formal verification involves the use of analytical techniques to prove that the implementation of a system confroms to the specification. The specification could be a set of properties that the system must have or it could be an alternative representation of the system behavior. We can represent our behavioral specification to be written in VHDL coding. In this paper, we proposed a new hardware design verification method. For theis method, we assumed that a verification pattern already exists and try to make an algorithm to find a place where a design error occurred. This method uses an hierarchical approach by making control flow graph(CFG) hierarchically. From the simulation, this method was turned out to be very effective that all the assumed design errors could be detected.

This study has developed a numerical analysis technique newly which can evaluate the damage propagation characteristics of civil infrastructures. To do this, numerical techniques are incorporated for the concrete members up to the compressive damage due to the bending compressive forces after the tensile crack based on the deformation mechanism. Especially, for the compressive damage stage after the tensile crack, the crack propagation process will be analyzed numerically using the concept of an equivalent plastic hinged length. Using this concept, we investigate the reasonability of the developed module by comparing commercial program for the tunnel structure. It can be established from this study that section forces, such as axial forces and the moment cracks takes place, can be related to the width of the crack making it possible to analyze the crack extension.
