A Study of the Effects of Dietary Behavior on the Nutritional Status of University Students

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of dietary behavior on the nutritional status of university students in Korea. A dietary intake survey of 603 university students (223 males and 380 females) was conducted using a 24-hour recall method. The resulting data on dietary behavior and nutrient intakes were analyzed by the SAS program package. The main results were as follows : 1) Most of the subjects were in their twenties and no obese cases were found. 2) Dietary intake data showed that, except for vitamin C in the female students, the average daily intakes of most nutrients did lot meet the Korean Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA). The study also showed that most of the subjects, especially the female students, were concerned about having satisfactory physical appearances. Fat provided 25% of the daily energy intake, and this level was higher than the 20% recommended by the Korean Dietary Guidelines. In the female students, the iron intake from animal foods was lower than that from plant foods. 3) Male students were not very serious about healthy eating. However, the female group, who obtained a high score in dietary behavior, consumed more vegetables and had higher intakes of energy, protein, Ca, p, vitamin A, and vitamin C than the male group, even though they did not meet the Korean RDA in most nutrients. Energy intake from fats, as a percent of total energy intake, was lower than in the group of females who obtained higher stores in dietary behavior than the other groups. To sum up, the university students surveyed in this study were found to have the typical dietary behavior of young adults, such as frequent eating out and snacking. Female students were extremely conscious of their body images this can exert an important direct influence on their dietary intakes and health status. It is very important for university students to develop healthy lifestyles and desirable dietary behaviors, to best enable them to continue to lead a healthy lift: in their later years.

앞과 뒤 실루엣이 다른 스커트의 가상착의와 실제 착의에 대한 주관적 외관평가와 형태특성 비교 (Comparison Between Actual and 3D Virtual Skirts of Different Front and Back Silhouette with Regard to the Evaluation of Subjective Appearance and Shape Characteristics)

  • Interests in 3D virtual clothing technology and its application in online shopping malls are increasing with the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Most studies on 3D virtual clothing, however, are focused on observing drapes or ease of virtual clothing depending on fabric properties of representative clothing items. Therefore, the purpose of this study is: first, to determine if current input of typical material characteristics in 3D CLO are sufficient to formulate virtual skirts with different front and back silhouettes; second, to determine if subjective appearance evaluation matched physical shape characteristics of those skirts. In this study, appearances of typical cotton, wool, silk, rayon, and polyester skirts with different front and back pattern were compared between actual and virtual clothing depending on fabric materials. Subjective appearance evaluation was conducted by 7 experts regarding similarity between actual and virtual clothing with a 5-point scale. For objective evaluation of the both types of skirt shape, degree of roundness at the cross section, displacement of side seam, position of back waistline, and the number of folds at the skirt back were observed. In the case of cotton and wool, not the subjective appearance evaluation as well as shape characteristics of virtual skirts were well matched to the actual shape of skirts with a few material inputs. However, current material inputs for silk, rayon and polyester were insufficient to cover material differences in formation of virtual skirts with different front and back silhouettes.

큰 두위를 주소로 내원하여 헌터 증후군으로 일찍 진단된 증례 1례 (A Case of Early Diagnosed Hunter Syndrome Detected by Large Head on Routine Examination)

  • A 25-month-old boy was referred to the hospital due to large head detected on routine physical examination. At visit, dysmorphic facial appearances, including broad nose, prominent forehead, and coarse face, were noted. Nasal obstruction with nasal voice, prominent adenoids, and bilateral middle ear effusions were detected. His abdomen was distended, and liver and spleen were palpated about 3 finger and 2 finger breadths, respectively. He was operated for bilateral inguinal hernias. The motion of both elbow joints was mildly limited on supination and pronation. Urinary level of glycosaminoglycan was elevated and the enzyme activity of iduronate sulfatase in leukocytes was decreased. The mutational analysis of the gene iduronate 2-sulfatase (IDS) revealed c.263G>A (p.Arg88His) mutation. His developmental scale showed delayed development and there was cardiac valvular involvement (tricuspid regurgitation and mitral valve prolapse). After the diagnosis of Hunter syndrome, enzyme replacement therapy started on a weekly basis without progression of any clinical features. Here we report a case of early diagnosed Hunter syndrome detected by large head on routine examination. Thus, it is important to associate Hunter syndrome in the patient with large head especially, if there is the history of bilateral inguinal hernia and prominent adenoids to increase the possibility of early diagnosis and treatment.

고등학교 가정 교과서 분석 연구 (Analysis of Home Economics Textbooks for High School)

  • The purposes of the study are to see as to how much of changes has occurred in the newly revised high school Home Economics Textbooks required by the 6th Curriculum and to seek future policy directions which can be improved even better, if any, for further revision. To implement this proposal, the study employs 6 different textbooks published in 1996 geared for the 6th Curriculum for data base. The components of the contents divides into two major parts. The first part faUs into a category of holistic analysis of the textbooks, which gives a general perspective of the changes in the textbook revised. It includes those areas of changes in the total number of pacover page, illustrations, table of contents, appendices, unit cover, introductory remarks, summary and evaluation, etc. It also covers the information on authors of textbook. The latter part consists of several specific areas of major changes occurred in the textbooks for the 6th Curriculum. It covers such areas of changes in the composition of category and its weigh laboratory experiences, and illustrations and tables. To conclude the study, there found followings key features : 1) The new textbooks have adopted more of varieties in physical appearances and contents per se as to the older ones. And yet, there still found a weakness in numbers of authors participated to a full reflection of contents variety. In addition, the background of authors reflected on an unrealistic idealism which lacks the on-site information provided by the school teachers. 2) The content area consists of 3 major areas of Human Development & Family Relationship. Food and Nutrition. Clothing and Textiles with ratio of 23.8%, 23.1%, and 21.9% respectively. 3) Human Development & Family Relationship area ranked first with 71 times in the numbers of laboratory activities for each content area. followed by Food and Nutrition with 56 and Family Resorces & Consumerism with 54. 사상인(四象人) 수족(手足)의 형태학적(形態學的) 특징(特徵) (A Morphological Study of Hand and Foot according to the Sasang Constitution)

  • 1. 연구배경 및 목적 외형적 특정을 통한 사상체질진단의 목적으로 특히, 임상에서 쉽게 접할 수 있는 수족(手足)의 체질별 형태학적인 차이를 찾고자 하였다. 2. 방법 설문지와 임상적 진단을 거쳐 체질이 최종적으로 분류된 148명을 대상으로 하였으며. Martin식 계측법을 준용하여 조사 대상자들의 수족(手足)을 생체 계측을 하였다. 3. 결과 신체의 특정으로는 태음인이 타 체질에 비해 몸무게가 무거웠다. 손의 특징으로는 손목둘레, 손 전체에서 손가락이 차지하는 비, 손목너비, 손바닥길이, 손최대너비, 손목너비, 두 번째, 세 번째와 네 번째 손가락 길이에서 체질별 유의성이 관찰되었다. 발의 특징으로는 발두께, 발너비, 발목둘레에서 체질별 유의성이 관찰되었다.

  • 본 연구는 대학발레전공생들의 자기관리에 영향을 주는 요인에는 어떠한 것들이 있는가를 푸코의 규율권력과 연계하여 분석하는 것을 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 서울시와 대전시에 소재하고 있는 4년제 대학교의 발레 전공 4학년 학생 10명을 대상으로 면담법을 실시하였으며, 얻은 자료를 수집, 분석하여 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 먼저, 발레전공무용수들이 효과적인 체중조절을 실천하기 위한 체중조절방식에는 단식, 한가지음식먹기, 물리적인 힘을 가하거나 섭취하기 등이 있었다. 그렇다면 이렇게 체중조절의 실천을 지속하게 하는 보이지 않는 시선이 무엇인지 살펴보면, 규율의 힘이 무용수들의 몸에서 자동적으로 행사하게끔 하는데 있어 중요한 역할을 하는 통제의 도구로 본 연구에서는 '거울과 체중계'을 들 수 있었다. 또한 무용수들의 체중관리의 또 다른 지속요인으로 서로간의 감시방식인 시놉티콘 현상이 존재하고 있었으며, 마지막으로 권력자의 배치에 관한 문제도 체중조절의 지속적인 실천에 작용하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • 거울은 일반적으로 아말감으로 코팅된 물리적 반사 표면으로 거울 앞의 상을 선명하게 반사한다. 이것은 언제 어디서나 사용이 가능하며 사용자의 얼굴이나 외모를 확인하기 위한 필수적인 도구이다. 현대 소프트웨어 기술의 출현으로 사람들은 실시간 처리, Microservice 및 머신 러닝이 적용된 편의성과 지능성을 통해 거울 반사 기능을 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 거울로써 실시간 반영과 동시에 사용자 맞춤 정보 조회, 공공 정보 조회, 외모를 통한 나이와 감정 탐지 등의 기능을 가진 디지털 거울 시스템 개발을 제안한다. 더불어, 본 시스템은 터치 기반, 음성 인식 기반, 제스처 기반의 Multi-Modal 사용자 인터페이스를 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 이 시스템에 대한 디자인을 제시하고 현재 기술을 이용하여 실시간 거울 반영과 동시에 유용한 정보 제공 및 지능형 머신 러닝 기술을 제공하는 구현 방법을 제안한다.

여섯 손가락증의 수술적 교정: 새로운 수술 방법의 고안과 적용 (Surgical Correction of Hexadactyly: Innovation of new technique and its application)

  • Purpose: Hexadactyly without thumb is a rare congenital anomaly of the hand where six triphalangeal digits are symmetrically distributed without thumb. Contrary to mirror hands, triphalangeal six digits are symmetrically distributed on each side at the midline with well - differentiated carpal bones, extensor tendons, one ulnar and one radius. The authors developed a new surgical technique based on a three - dimensional concept to correct the hexadactyly and applied to 2 cases of hexadactyly with good functional and aesthetic results. Here we document the surgical technique and its result. Methods: A 16 month old male patient visited our clinic with chief complaints of bilateral hexadactyly deformity. On physical examination most radial first and second digits showed no opposition and adduction motion on both side hands. Radiography showed 6 triphalangeal digits with normal development of carpal, radial and ulnar bone. Right side abnormality was corrected by removal of most radial side extra - digit, rotation and migration of 2nd ray to thumb position and creation of 1st web by transposing a mid - palm based rectangular palmar flap as in Snow & Littler procedure which has been being applied for correction of 1st web syndactyly in cleft hand deformity. Seven months later, left side abnormality was also corrected with the same procedure. Results: Postoperative appearances of the both hands were satisfactory. Flexion, extension, opposition and grasping were possible with the pollicized 2nd ray. Pinching power was 3.0 kg 15 months after surgery and 2.5 kg 22 months after in right hand respectively. Conclusion: In correction of hexadactyly deformity, satisfactory aesthetic and relevant functional results can be expected with authors' newly developed technique: removal of most radial digit, rotation and migration of 2nd digit to thumb position as well as creation of the 1st web space by transposition of mid - palm based rectangular flap.
