  • Digital photographic analysis is currently considered as a routine procedure in clinic because periodic follow-up examinations can provide meaningful information for diagnosis. However, it is impractical to separately evaluate all suspicious lesions with conventional digital photographic systems, which have inconsistent characteristics of the environmental conditions. To address the issue, it is necessary for total diagnostic evaluation in clinic to integrate conventional systems. Previously, a multimodal digital photographic imaging system, which provides a conventional color image, parallel and cross polarization color images and a fluorescent color image, was developed for objective evaluation of facial skin lesions. Based on our previous study, we introduce a commercial product, "DermaVision-PRO," for routine use in clinical application in dermatology. We characterize the system and describe the image analysis methods for objective evaluation of skin lesions. In order to demonstrate the validity of the system in dermatology, sample images were obtained from subjects with various skin disorders, and image analysis methods were applied for objective evaluation of those lesions.

전자사진용 화상시스템의 화상개선 알고리즘 (Image Enhancement Algorithm in Imaging Systems for Electronic Photography)

  • 전자사진은 디지털 기술의 급속한 발전에 의하여 그 응용 범위가 확대되고있으나, 은염사진과 원리와 특성이 근본적으로 다르며 은염사진에 익숙한 사용자에게도 은염사진과 유사한 특성을 보이도록 화상의 개선과 화질의 보정 등이 요구된다. 본 논문은 은염사진의 계조 특성을 추출하여 전자화상시스템에 적용시켜 은염사진의 계조 특성을 지닌 전자화상을 출력하는 방법을 제시한다. 먼저, 은염사진과 전자사진의 화상 생성 공정을 구체적으로 비교하여 그 차이를 기술하고, 사진 계조 변환의 원리와 방법을 제시한다. 다음으로 사진 계조 변환함수를 구하기 위한 각 시스템의 특성화의 실험을 수행한 결과를 보인다. 최종적으로 이론을 바탕으로 한 실험에서는 사진 계조로 변환된 데이터를 디지털 화상시스템으로 출력하여 은염사진의 계조 특성의 비교분석을 수행한다.

Optimized Optomechanical Anti-Aliasing Filter for Digital Camera Photography

  • We investigated an anti-aliasing (AA) filter for digital camera photography by which the excessively high-frequency components of the image signal are suppressed to avoid the aliasing effect. Our optomechanical AA filter was implemented by applying rapid relative motions to the imaging sensor. By the engineered motion blur of the mechanical dithers, the effective point-spread function (PSF) of the imaging system could be tailored to reject the unwanted high-frequency components of the image. For optimal operations, we developed a spiral filter motion protocol that could produce a Gaussian-like PSF. We experimentally demonstrated that our AA filter provides an improved filtering characteristic with a better compromise of the rejection performance and the signal loss. We also found that the pass band characteristic can be enhanced further by a color-differential acquisition mode. Our filter scheme provides a useful method of digital photography for low-error image measurements as well as for ordinary photographic applications where annoying $moir{\acute{e}}$ patterns must be suppressed efficiently.

  • Electronic Speckle Pattern Interferometry(ESPI) using a CW laser, a video system and image processor was applied to the rotating displacement of rigid body. ESPI require no special surface preparation or attachments and displacements between any two arbitrary points on the surface can be measured. The characteristic speckle pattern formed when imaging a scattering surface illuminated by laser light retains phase information, which can be used for interferometric measurement of surface displacement. The application of this principle to measuring in-plane displacement resolved in one direction is described, together with the novel use of television equipment to detect and process the information contained in the speckle pattern. This is faster, and more convenient and versatile than customary photographic methods.

  • Eastman Kodak Co. has announced the concept of photo CD System in September, 1990 With Photo CD System technology, Kodak Co. Furnishes a convinent way to view, use and store photographic images. The heart of this system is a format provides progressively higher levels of image quality to meet the demands of NTSC, PAL and HDTV video displays as well as hard copy output. Also, image professionals are instrested in the capability of Photo CD, such as a way to store image at low cost in a high-resolution digital format that can be played back on different computer platforms. Many editors wish to use Photo CD images in the printing and publishing industry. However, Photo CD images were not processed detail enhancement and some others to use in the lithographic offset printing. Therefore, in this paper discribes a method to improve the sharpness of Photo CD images.

  • 최근 영화, 광고, 미디어 전시 등의 분야에서 다양한 특수 효과가 처리된 장면의 연출이 적용되고 있다. 특히, 미디어 전시, 공연 등에서는 관객 혹은 공연자의 움직임에 반응하는 예술적 영상의 인터랙티브 표현들이 시도되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 광고, 전시 등에서 효과적으로 활용될 수 있는 인터랙티브 포토 모자이크(photographic mosaic) 영상을 생성하는 시스템을 제안하였다.. 제안 시스템에서는 관객의 출현을 인지하고, 관객의 얼굴을 자동으로 캡쳐하여 관객의 얼굴 사진을 이용한 모자이크 영상을 실시간으로 생산한다. 이 때, 흥미 유발을 위하여 모자이크를 구성하는 관객의 얼굴 사진 조각들이 움직임을 가지는 작은 사각의 입자로 표현되어 서로가 충돌하며 자연스러운 움직임을 통하여 하나의 영상으로 맞춰가는 모습이 보여지도록 하였다.

PKNU2호 영상을 이용한 정사영상 지도 제작 및 3차원 입체 분석 (Generation of the Ortho-Rectified Photo Map and Analysis of the Three-Dimensional Image Using the PKNU 2 Imagery)

  • 지형의 수리학적 해석을 위해서 수리학자들은 정확한 하천 횡단면을 파악하는 것이 중요하다. 기존에는 직접 측량법을 이용하여 하천 횡단면을 알 수 있었지만, 본 연구에서는 정확성 경제성 확보라는 차원에서 항공사진을 이용했다. 자체 제작한 고해상도 다중분광 항공촬영시스템 (PKNU2호)으로 획득한 영상을 수치지도와 GPS 측량값으로 처리하여 정사영상지도를 제작하였다. 그리고 정사처리 된 영상을 Z/I Imaging 사의 ImageStation 도화기로 하천 횡단면 획득하고, Kinematic 측량값과 비교 분석해 보았다. 연구결과 정사영상지도 제작 시 수치지도를 사용하여 처리한 것보다 GPS 측량값으로 영상을 처리한 것이 5.5788화소(약 2m) 에서 2.84화소(약 1m)로 정확도가 향상됨을 알 수 있었다. 하천 횡단면 추출 시 Kinematic 측량값은 수평 및 수직 정확도가 95% 신뢰수준에서 ${\pm}6.6cm$ 정도로 매우 좋았으며, 항공사진을 이용한 하천 횡단면 추출 결과와는 상시성 0.857으로 하천횡단면 획득을 위해 적용가능성이 매우 높았다.

  • This study, "The study about performance evaluations of mobile cover for X-ray's diffusion and distribution in mobile radiation" is based on the rules of mobile defense apparatus for radiation producer in 2006. To use the mobile cover for X-ray for diagnosis has been compulsory in common wards except operation rooms, emergency rooms and intensive care units. we have confirmed the effect in arbitrary shielding material after Qualitiy Control was carried out for accuracy in an experiment of mobile photographing equipment. The performance evaluation was conducted with the fabrics of selenium, 0.2 mmPb, 0.1 mmPb and aluminiums. Considering the result, we choosed 0.1 mmPb and attached cover to mobile photographing equipment. We have finished making the cover after drew up the draft to attach cover to mobile photographing equipment through the modeling and the structural analysis. the process of the study is that we assembled the manufactured structures and carried out the practical experiment to take the photograph after attaching the fabric of 0.1 mmPb to mobile photographing equipment. It is need of additional thesises hereafter that we compare the result between the part to improve for safety besides convenience in photographic experiment about clinical radiation and the effect of covering the diffusion in condition attached the cover.

운전조건에 따른 공기보조 분사기의 Sauter 평균입경에 대한 고찰 (Investigation on the Sauter Mean Diameter of an Air-Assisted Fuel Injector -Operating Parameter Consideration)

  • Drop size distribution of an air-assisted fuel injector(AAFI) was investigated. Influence of parameters such as ambient air density supply pressure and air-liquid mass ratio(ALR) was examined through both measurement and analysis. The Sauter mean diameter$D_{32}$ varied from 9 to 25$\mu$m throughout all experimental conditions. An empirical correlation for droplet size was obtained. Analytical correlations for predicting $D_{32}$ with respect to operating conditions were also derived through energy consideration and introduction of a simplified model of the from the empirical fitting was adapted to the original equation the proposed correlation in this study matched more closely with measured results. The current correlation exhibited a favorable study matched more closely with measured results. The current correlation exhibited a favorable prediction for $D_{32}$ compared to that by the empirical correlation at selected experimental conditions so that it may be used to predict atomization performance of the AAFI at operating conditions which was not covered in the measurements. After validation the analytical equation was applied to survey the feasible operating conditions for gasoline direct injection application.

An Image Quality Evaluation Model for Optical Strip Signal-to-Noise Ratio in the Target Area of High Temperature Forgings

  • Under the time-varying temperature, the high-temperature radiation of forgings and the change of reflection characteristics of oxide skin on the surface of forgings lead to the difficulty of obtaining images to truly reflect the geometric characteristics of forgings. It is urgent to study the clear and reliable acquisition method of hot forging feature image under time-varying temperature to meet the requirements of visual measurement of hot geometric parameters of forgings. Based on this, this chapter first puts forward the quality evaluation method of forging feature image, which provides guarantee for the accurate evaluation of feature image quality. Furthermore, the factors that affect the image quality, such as the radiation characteristics of forgings and the photographic characteristics of cameras, are analyzed, and the imaging spectrum which can effectively suppress the radiation intensity of forgings is determined. Finally, aiming at the problem that the quality of image acquisition is difficult to guarantee due to the drastic change of radiation intensity of forgings under time-varying temperature, an image acquisition method based on minimum signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) based laser light intensity adaptation is proposed, which significantly improves the definition of feature light strips in forging images at high temperature, and finally realizes the clear acquisition of feature images of large-scale hot forging under time-varying temperature.
