For effectively photochemical hydrogen production, Ti ions (0.01, 0.10, 0.50 mol%) impregnated $WO_3$ ($Ti/WO_3$) nanometer sized particles were prepared using a impregnation method as a photocatalyst. The characteristics of the synthesized $Ti/WO_3$ photocatalysts were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), photoluminescence spectra (PL), atomic force microscope (AFM), and electrostatic force microscope (EFM). The evolution of $H_2$ from methanol/water (1/1) photo-splitting over $Ti/WO_3$ photocatalysts was enhanced compared to those over pure $TiO_2$ and $WO_3$ photocatalysts; 3.02 mL of $H_2$ gas was evolved after 8 h when 0.5 g of a 0.10 mol% $Ti/WO_3$ catalyst was used.
Polysiloxanes with methacrylate groups at both terminals were synthesized by a hydrosilylation reaction between allyl methacrylate and hydride-terminated polysiloxanes. The polysiloxane methacrylates with high molecular weights could be prepared through the reaction of polysiloxane methacrylates and octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane with an acid catalyst. The structures of the prepared polysiloxane methacrylates were verified by $^1$H- and $^{29}Si-NMR.$ The polysiloxane methacrylates were freely miscible with silicone oils. Polysiloxane films with microphase-separated liquid silicone oil were prepared by photo-crosslinking the mixture of polysiloxane methacrylates and silicone oil. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of the films showed that the size of silicone oil droplets became smaller with a lower loading of silicone oil, lower molecular weight of polysiloxane methacrylate, and lower molecular weight of silicone oil.

Novel highly active visible-light photocatalysts in the form of zinc bismuth oxide ($ZnBi_2O_4$) and graphite hybrid composites were prepared by coupling via a co-precipitation method followed by calcination at $450^{\circ}C$. The asprepared $ZnBi_2O_4$-graphite hybrid composites were tested for the degradation of rhodamine B (RhB) solutions under visible-light irradiation. The existence of strong electronic coupling between the two components within the $ZnBi_2O_4$-graphite heterostructure suppressed the photogenerated recombination of electrons and holes to a remarkable extent. The prepared composite exhibited excellent photocatalytic activity, leading to more than 93% of RhB degradation at an initial concentration of $50mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ with 1.0 g catalyst per liter in 150 min. The excellent visible-light photocatalytic mineralization of $ZnBi_2O_4-1.0graphite$ in comparison with pristine $ZnBi_2O_4$ could be attributed to synergetic effects, charge transfer between $ZnBi_2O_4$ and graphite, and the separation efficiency of the photogenerated electrons and holes. The photo-induced $h^+$ and the superoxide anion were the major active species responsible for the photodegradation process. The results demonstrate the feasibility of $ZnBi_2O_4-1.0graphite$ as a potential heterogeneous photocatalyst for environmental remediation.

In this study, photochemical effects (OH radical formation) in the photoreactor was investigated to analyze UV-C intensity distribution. In addition, The influence radius of the UV-C lamp was measured at various dose of $TiO_2$ (Degussa P-25). The photoreactor used in this study was bath type reactor which is made by acrylic and the UV-C lamp (SANKYO DENKI, wavelength : 254 nm, Diameter : 2.2 cm, Length : 18.5 cm) was used as photo source. The maximum electric power consumption of the UV lamp was 10.5 W. The OH radical formation by UV-C was measured by KI dosimetry methods. From the results, the effective OH radical formation was occurred under the following condition. The reasonable distance of UV-C lamp is within 13 cm and the intensity of UV-C lamp should be more than 0.367 mW/$cm^2$. Moreover, the concentration of catalyst affects on the influence radius of the UV lamp.
This study focuses on the removal of water-suspended toluene of a representative sick house compounds in a liquid photo-system using nanometer-sized Sn-incorporated $TiO_2$ which was synthesized by a solvothermal method. The characteristics of the synthesized Sn-$TiO_2$ were analyzed by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and UV-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis). To estimate the photocatalytic activity of Sn-$TiO_2$, the photodegradation of water-suspended toluene was performed, and the remaining concentration was determined using UV-visible spectroscopy. The water-suspended toluene photodegradation over Sn-incorporated $TiO_2$ catalyst was better than that over pure $TiO_2$ (anatase). The water-suspended toluene of 500 ppm was perfectly decomposed within 300 minutes over 0.01 mol% Sn-$TiO_2$.
The effect of $N_2$ back-flushing period (FT) and time (BT) was compared with the previous result used PES (polyethersulfone) beads loaded with titanium dioxide photocatalyst in hybrid process of alumina microfiltration and PP (polypropylene) beads coated with photocatalyst in viewpoints of membrane fouling resistance ($R_f$), permeate flux (J), and total permeate volume ($V_T$). The reason of nitrogen back-washing instead of the general air back-washing method is to minimize the possible effect of oxygen included in air on water quality analysis. As decreasing FT, $R_f$ decreased and J and $V_T$ increased. Treatment efficiency of dissolved organic matters (DOM) was 82.0%, which was the higher than 78.0% of the PES beads result. This means that PP beads coated with photocatalyst was the more effective than PES beads loaded with photo-catalyst in the DOM removal. As increasing BT, the final $R_f$ decreased and the final J increased, but $V_T$ was the maximum at BT 15 sec. The average treatment efficiency of turbidity did not have any trend as changing BT. As BT increasing from 6 sec to 30 sec, the treatment efficiency of DOM increased 11.8%, which was a little higher than the result of PES beads.
A preparation process's conditions of aqueous sol which contains anatase-type nano titania particles with photocatalyic properties was established by using Yoldas process, so called, DCS(Destabilization of Colloidal Solution) process in this study. And crystal size change and phase transformation of titania particles in aqueous titania sol depending on reaction conditions was investigated by a light scattering method and XRD analysis of frozen dried powders, respectively. This sol with photo catalytic nano titania particles was used to the following hydrophilic hybrid coating film's fabrication and its properties was evaluated. Subsequently, for coating film using the above mentioned aqueous titania sol, non-aqueous titania sol was prepared without any chemical additives and its time stability according to aging time was investigate. By using the above mentioned aqueous titania sol and non-aqueous sol, a complex oxide coating sol for metal and ceramic substrate and a organic-inorganic hybrid coating sol for polymer substrate was prepared and it's hydrophilicity depending on UV irradiation conditions was evaluated. As a conclusions, the following results were obtained. (1)Aqueous titania sol The average particle size of titania in formed aqueous titania sol was distributed between 20$\sim$90nm range depending on reaction conditions. And the crystal phase of titania powders obtained by frozen drying method was changed from amorphous state to anatase and subsequently transformed to rutile crystal phase and it is attributed to concentration gradient in aqueous sol. (2)Non-aqueous titania sol Non-aqueous titania sol was prepared using methanol as a solvent and a little distilled water for hydrolysis and nitric acid as a catalyst were used. The obtained non-aqueous titania sol was stable at room temperature for 20 days. Additionally, non-aqueous titania sol with addition of chealating reagent such as acethylaceton and ethylene glycol prolonged the stability of sol by six months. (3)Complex sol and hybrid sol with super hydrophilicity The above mentioned aqueous titania sol as a main photocataylic component and non-aqueous titania sol as a binder for coating process was used to prepare a complex sol used for metal, ceramic and wood material substrate and also to prepare the organic-inorganic hybrid sol for polymer substrate such as polycarbonate and polyethylene, in which process APMS(3-Aminopropyltrimethoxysilane), GPTS(3-Glycidoxypropyl-trimethoxysilane) as a hydrophilic silane compound and HEMA(2-Hydroxyethyl methacrylate) as a forming network in hybrid coating film were used. The hybrid coating film such as prepared through this process showed a superhydrophilicity below 1$10^{\circ}$ depending on processing conditions and a pencil's hardness over 6 H.

Recently, issues related to the quality of concrete have continuously resulted in surface quality problems, such as the exfoliation of concrete surfaces due to the cost reduction of cement and poor quality fine aggregate, scaling of surfaces caused by laitance, and plastic shrinkage cracks. Prompted by social issues, the application of a photo catalyst to road structures is being attempted to solve the environmental problems caused by fine dust and automobile exhaust. In this study, chemical admixtures were developed to improve the surface quality of concrete and to apply and distribute titanium dioxide in nanoscale sizes to provide basic data for the development of a photocatalyst-curing agent. As a result of the experiment, silicon and silane were reviewed as a raw material as a curing agent to develop a high performance curing agent with better film performance than conventional curing agents because they could form a film quickly on a fresh concrete surface. The distributed stability of the ultrasonic disperser showed the best performance through an outdoor test for four weeks to review the dispersion measures for the application of nanomaterials.
This study focused on the difference of photocatalytic performance by the incorporation of Pd into the $TiO_2$ framework and suggested five different catalysts composed of $TiO_2$ and x mol% $Pd-TiO_2$ (x = 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, and 1.0). A typical sol-gel method was used to synthesize catalysts, and the phenol photodegradation performance of each catalysts was evaluated. The physicochemical and optical properties of catalysts were confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive spectrometer (SEM/EDS), ultraviolet/visible spectroscopy (UV/Vis), photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL), and photocurrent measurements. With the addition of Pd ions, the band gap of catalysts was shortened and the charge separation between photogenerated electrons and holes easily also occurred. As a result, the phenol photo-destruction performance over 0.75 mol% $Pd-TiO_2$ catalyst was 3 times higher than that of pure $TiO_2$. This is believed to be due to Pd ions acted as an electron capturing function during photocatalysis.
This study was performed to observe the histopathological response to the bonding resin directly applied on the remaining pulp tissues. 40 teeth from 3 adult dogs were pulpotomized with a sterile round bur and sharp excarvater. In the control group, $Ca(OH)_2$ powder was applied on the pulp tissue and the cavities were sealed with IRM cement. In the experimental group 1, Superbond C&B was applied on the remaining pulp and the cavities conditioned with 10-3 solution were filled with the mixture of the MMA liquid, PMMA powder and Catalyst. Multi-purpose adhesive was used on the remaining pulp tissue in the experimental group 2 and Z-100 was filled in the cavities. In the experimental group 3, Clearfil photobond applied and directly photo-cured on the pulp tissue, then the cavities were treated with CA agent (10% citric acid and 20% $CaCl_2$ aqueous solution) for 20 seconds, washed and applied with Clearfil photobond then filled with Protect liner. The experimental animals were sacrified at the 1st, 2nd, and 4th week. The specimens were routinely processed and stained with H-E for light microscopic observation. The results were as followed : 1. In the experimental group 1, the number and characteristics of the dentin bridge formation case was similar to those in the control group and less cases were observed in the experimental group 2 and 3 than experimental group 3. The inflammatory response in experimental group 1 was less than that in the control group at 1st week but there had been little difference at between 2nd and 4th week. 2. The number of the dentin bridge in experimental group 2 was less than that in control group and experimental group 1. The inflammatory response of the experimental group 1 was similar to that of experimental group 1 but less than that of the control group. A number of bleeding and vascular congestion were observed. The least inflammatory response was seen in the experimental group 2 among all groups. 3. In the experimental group 3, one case of the dentin bridge formation was observed and that was the same as that in the experimental group 2 but smaller than that of the control and experimental group 1. The inflammatory response of the experimental group 3 was least at the 1st week and most at the 4th week in the all group.
