PCEMA 광폴리머의 광중합 작용을 이용한 액정배향 (Liquid crystal alignment by photo-dimerization reaction of PCEMA photo polymer)

  • We synthesised a novel photo-alignment material of PCEMA (poly(cinnamolyethyl methacrylate)) on photo-dimerization reaction. Next we investigated the electro-optical (EO) characteristics of photo-aligned twisted nematic (TN)-liquid crystal display (LCD) with linearly polarized ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation on PCEHA surface. The excellent voltage-transmittance characteristics of photo-aligned TN-LCD on PCEMA surface were obtained. The threshold voltage of photo-aligned TN-LCD decreases with increasing the UV light irradiation time on PCEMA surface. Also, the response time of photo-aligned TN-LCD on PCEMA surface is almost the same as rubbing-aligned TN-LCD.

  • The purpose of this research is to control proper processing condition of RGB photo resistant in the ink-jet process increasing processing ability by adding additives. The viscosities of modified RGB photo resistant were $10{\sim}14cps$ and the additives could decreased agglomeration and flowing trace of photo resistant effectively. Another way, the adhesion between photo resistant and glass substrate was improved by modifying photo resistant and substrate. The surface tensions of modified photo resistant were same as that of original RGB photo resistant. The additives appeared a better compatibility with photo resistant, and the micelle of photo resistant did not be broken during modified process.

  • Here the hydrogen passivation treatment has been adopted to enhance the performance of poly-Si crystallized by YAG laser annealing (LA poly-Si). We have investigated the effects of passivation time, passivation power and passivation temperature on the hall mobility of the LA poly-Si and analyzed the mechanism of the hydrogen passivation preliminary. It has been found that the quality of the poly-Si annealed by YAG laser could be improved after proper hydrogen plasma treatment.

만화기반 사진 스토리텔링에 관한 고찰 : 어린이 사진교육을 중심으로 (Research on The Photo-storytelling based on Comics for the Children Photo Education)

  • 본 연구는 만화의 스토리텔링 요소를 활용함으로서 사진 스토리텔링을 연구한다. 디지털 환경 변화에 따라 이미지 생산과 소비가 늘어나 새로운 형태의 콘텐츠 창작이 가능해졌다. 이와 함께 이미지를 비판적으로 읽고 쓰는 능력과 문화예술로서 어린이 사진교육에 대한 연구의 필요성이 더욱 요구되고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 스토리텔링 요소가 풍부한 만화 형식을 사진교육 프로그램에 적용시켜 만화사진이라는 새로운 유형을 제시하고자 한다. 첫 번째는 만화의 기법 중 홈통과 완결성 연상 효과에 대해 알아보고 스토리텔링으로서 사진과 만화를 비교 분석한다. 두 번째는 만화적 요소가 적용된 사진교육 프로그램 사례 및 장점을 분석한다. 이 글을 통해 만화사진이라는 새로운 유형을 제시하여 사진교육을 위한 기초연구 발전에 기여하고자 한다.

폴리(실록산 신나메이트)의 광배향 메커니즘 연구 (Photo-Alignment Mechanism Study of Poly(siloxane cinnamate))

  • 신나모일 그룹의 광배향 메커니즘과 공정 조건들과의 관계를 이해하기 위하여 폴리(실록산 신나메이트) (PSCN)를 이용한 광배향 연구를 진행하였다. DSC와 편광현미경 실험에서 PSCN의 등방성 온도는 $105^{\circ}C$ 이상이었으며 액정 온도 구간에서 한 번 배열된 분자들은 저온이나 고온의 등방성 온도 구간에서도 없어지지 않는 열안정성을 보였다. UV/Vis 흡수 실험을 통해서는 광이량화 반응이 주된 광배향 반응이며 신나모일기가 스스로 배열되는 경향이 강하여 광이량화 반응의 효율을 높이는데 기여하지만 광조사가 지나칠 경우 경쟁 관계에 있는 photo-fries 반응이 증가하여 오히려 광배향 성질이 떨어짐을 알 수 있었다. 한편, photo-fries 반응은 UV의 파장을 조절하여 억제할 수 있었다.

  • A new photo-alignment material, copoly (PM4Ch-ChMA), copoly (poly (4-methacryloyloxy) chalcone-chalconemethacryl) was synthesized and the electro-optical (EO) characteristics for the photo-aligned vertically aligned (VA)-LC display (LCD) were investigated. The monodomain alignment of the NLC for the photo-aligned VA-LCD by linearly polarized UV exposure on the photo-dimerized copoly (PM4Ch-ChMA) surfaces was observed. Excellent voltage-transmittance characteristics for the photo-aligned VA-LCD by UV exposure for 1 min. on the copoly (PM4Ch-ChMA) surfaces were achieved. The response time of the photo-aligned VA-LCD by UV exposure on for 1 min. the copoly (PM4Ch-ChMA) surfaces was about 39.3 ms. The response time for the photo-aligned VA-LCD decreased with increasing UV exposure time.

패션 일러스트레이션에서의 사진 이미지 차용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Photo-image Appropriation in Fashion Illustration)

  • Present expression methods have close relations with popular culture in the active acceptance of various kinds of genre. Fashion illustration is no longer limited to sketching garments or technically explaining construction, it is accepted as an art that is expressed by the desire and consciousness of the artist. This study examines the expressional characteristics and effects of photo-image appropriation as an expression method in fashion illustration. The word 'appropriation' (to steal something) is used as euphemism and not meant to be derogatory. The methods of appropriation in art indicate that paintings are not inventions but are self-satisfactory creations that show that the idea of originality is false and that paintings should be uninhibited from the greed of the authority of the genius of artists. In postmodern paintings, the photo-image of appropriation are expressed through the methods of re-photography, photo collage, and photo painting. Photo-image appropriation methods in fashion illustration are re-photography, photo collage, image mixing of photography, drawing, and graphic expression of photography. Fashion illustrators are able to develop expression techniques for expanding a field of expression and enhance the ability of communication through the photo-image appropriation methods.

Liquid crystal alignment effects for the photo-aligned VA-LCD on the photo-polymer

  • In this study the new photo-alignment material copoly(PM4Ch-ChMa)(copoly (poly (4-methancryloyloxy)chalcone-cholesteryl methacry late)) was synthesized, Also, the liquid crystal (LC) aligning capabilities and the electro-optical(EO) characteristics for the photo-aligned vertical-aligned(VA)-LC display(LCD) were studied. The monodomain alignment of the NLC for the photo-aligned VA-LCD by linearly polarized UB exposure on the Photo-dimerized copoly(PM4Ch-ChMA) surface was observed,. Excellent Voltage-transmittance characteristics for the VA-LCD photo-aligned by polarized UV exposure on the copoly (PM4Ch-ChMA) surfaces for 1 min was achieved. The response time of the VA-LCD photo-aligned by polarized UV exposure on the copoly (PM4Ch-ChMA) surfaces for 1 min was 39.3 ms, We suggest that the photo-dimerized chacone group increased with increasing UV exposure time, which then contributes to a low response time of the photo-aligned VA-LCD on the copoly (PM4Ch-ChMA) surfaces.

  • This review presents the status of our research in liquid crystal display (LCD) photo-aligning. We present the basic mechanisms of the photo-induced order in various photo-aligning materials and in azo-dye layers in particular and show that photo-aligning methods can provide a controllable pretilt angle and anchoring energy of the liquid crystal cell, as well as its high thermo and UV stability. The photo-aligning of various types of liquid crystal displays is also discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop an economical radiation sensor using photo diodes. An electronic circuit was developed. The behavior of the radiation sensor was evaluated by increasing number of photo diodes. The sensor became more reliable by the increase in number of photo diodes. It was showed that the photo diodes sensor would be applicable.
