  • Skin Moisture is an important factor in skin health. Measurement of moisture content can provide diagnostic information on the condition of skin. In this study, a photo diode array type near infrared spectroscopy was used to determine skin moisture. Diffuse reflectance spectra were collected and transformed to absorbance using 1-nm stepsize over the wavelength range of 1100 nm to 2200 nm. (omitted)

PHYSICS REVEALED BY BROAD-RANGE CO LADDERS AND FINE-STRUCTURE LINES IN M83

  • Since the launch of the Herschel Space Observatory, our understanding about the photo-dissociation regions (PDR) has taken a step forward. In the bandwidth of the Fourier Transform Spectrometer (FTS) of the Spectral and Photometric Imaging REceiver (SPIRE) on board Herschel, ten CO rotational transitions, including J = 4 - 3 to J = 13 - 12, and three fine structure lines, including [$C{\small{I}}$] 609, [$C{\small{I}}$] 370, and [$N{\small{II}}$] $205{\mu}m$, are covered. I present our findings from the FTS observations at the nuclear region of M83, based on the spatially resolved physical parameters derived from the CO spectral line energy distribution (SLED) map and the comparisons with the dust properties and star-formation tracers. This article discusses (1) the potential of using [$N{\small{II}$] 205 and [$C{\small{I}}$] $370{\mu}m$ as star-formation tracers; (2) the excitation mechanisms of warm CO in the nuclear region of M83.

The Synthesis and Evaluation of Squarylium Dyes Based On the NIR Spectra Region

  • Several squarylium dyes, derived from benzothiazole and indoles, were synthesized as a potential NIR dyes with absorption in the 700-900 nm region. These chromophores were induced much more bathochromic shift in the absorption maximum of the compound relative to the neutral parent squarylium dyes which we were described before. The squaryliums offer a convenient way of linking the dye to functional substrates and may be an advantage to be potential chromophores for NIR-absorbing, NIR-Cut-off filter, PDT(Photo Dynamic Therapy) materials.

Synthesis and Characterization of Blue Light-Emitting Polymers Containing Phenylenevinylene Units

  • A series of new polymers containing phenylenevinylene (PV) units were synthesized by Wittig polycondensation reaction and properties of the synthesized polymers were characterized by FT-IR and UV-visible spectroscopy, and their light-emitting properties were studied. All of the synthesized polymers were soluble in organic solvents and showed good film quality. The absorption maxima and band edges of the polymers were moved to shorter wavelength region by reducing the electron donating alkoxy groups incorporated in phenylenevinylene unit. The photo-induced emission spectra were obtained and all of the polymers revealed their emission in blue region. The observed emission maxima of the polymers were ranged from 480-495 nm.

  • 재해는 분석과 예측을 통한 사전대비가 중요하다. 하지만 방재를 위한 노력에도 불구하고 지구온난화로 인한 홍수와 침수피해 등으로 피해가 점차 커지고 있다. 이러한 피해를 막기 위해서는 체계적인 연구 및 분석을 통한 기초자료와 시스템이 구축되어져야 한다. 하지만 아직까지 기초자료 수집이나 방재체계도 구축중이거나 미흡한 것이 사실이다. 본 연구에서는 재해의 요인을 항공사진과 수치지형도를 비롯한 LiDAR 자료 등의 지형 공간자료를 이용하여 재해위험 요소를 추출하였다. 또한 그리드 분석기법과 가중치산정기법, 보기 쉬운 재해현황분석 사진지도를 작성하여 사전에 재해발생 가능 지역에 대한 위험 발생 지역을 평가하였다.

열플라즈마에 의한 TiO2-xNx의 합성 및 광촉매 특성 비교 (Synthesis of TiO2-xNx Using Thermal Plasma and Comparison of Photocatalytic Characteristics)

  • $TiO_2$의 가장 큰 특징은 광촉매적 특성을 들 수 있으나 순수한 $TiO_2$는 자외선 영역에서만 활성을 보이는 단점이 있다. 단점을 보완하고자 본 연구에서는 초고온, 고활성을 이용한 열플라즈마 공정으로 질소가 도핑된 $TiO_2$를 합성하여 $TiO_2$의 광촉매적 특성을 높이고자 하였다. 직류 플라즈마 제트를 이용하여 비금속이온인 질소와 반응 가스인 산소를 $TiCl_4$와 함께 플라즈마 반응기 안에서 반응시켜 질소가 도핑된 $TiO_2$ 나노 분말을 합성하였다. 합성 조건으로 질소의 유량을 변화하였다. 합성 변수에 따른 입자의 상조성, 크기를 분석하였고 아세트알데히드와 곰팡이를 광분해하는 실험을 통해 광촉매 활성을 살펴보았다. 한편 $TiO_2$의 분말 상태와 코팅된 상태의 광촉매 특성을 비교하고자 합성한 분말의 스핀 코팅과 PLD (Pulsed Laser Deposition)을 통해 $TiO_2$를 코팅하였다. 아세트알데히드 분해 실험의 결과 질소가 도핑된 $TiO_2$ 분말의 경우가 순수한 $TiO_2$ 분말에 비해 가시영역에서의 광촉매 활성이 두 배 이상 뛰어난 것을 확인하였으며, 곰팡이 분해 실험 결과 역시 질소가 도핑된 $TiO_2$ 분말에 곰팡이가 분해되는 것을 확인하였다. 분말과 필름을 제조하여 메틸렌블루 광분해 실험한 결과 분말의 경우 100% $TiO_2$입자가 메틸렌블루 분해에 이용되며, 반면 스핀 코팅의 경우 바인더의 함량 때문에 20~30%의 $TiO_2$만이 분해에 이용되기 때문에, 분말의 경우 초기 30 mL 메틸렌블루를 한번에 분해할 수 있었다.

  • Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have attracted considerable attention on account of their high solar energy-to-conversion efficiencies and low cost processes compared to conventional p-n junction solar cells. The mechanism of DSSC is based on the injection of electrons from the photo excited dyes into the conduction band of the semiconductor electrode. The oxidized dye is reduced by the hole injection into either the hole conductor or the electrolyte. Thus, the light harvesting effect of dye plays an important role in capturing the photons and generating the electron/hole pair, as well as transferring them to the interface of the semiconductor and the electrolyte, respectively. We used the organic fluorescence materials which can absorb short wavelength light and emit longer wavelength region where dye sensitize effectively. In this work, the DSSCs were fabricated with fluorescence materials added $TiO_2$ photo-electrode which were sensitized with metal-free organic dyes. The photovoltaic performances of fluorescence aided DSSCs were compared, and the recombination dark current curves and the incident photon-to-current (IPCE) efficiencies were measured in order to characterize the effects of the additional light harvesting effect in DSSC. Electro-optical measurements were also used to optimize the fluorescence material contents on TiO2 photo-electrode surface for higher conversion efficiency (${\eta}$), fill factor (FF), open-circuit voltage (VOC) and short-circuit current (ISC). The enhanced light harvesting effect by the judicious choice/design of the fluorescence materials and sensitizing dyes permits the enhancement of photovoltaic performance of DSSC.

공기 산화와 수증기 산화에 의해 제조된 Ti$O_2$-x박막의 광전기화학적 성질에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Photo-Electrochemical Properties of Ti$O_2$-x Thin Films Prepared by Air Oxidation and Water Vapor Oxidation)

  • 티타늄 금속판을 공기산화와 수증기 산화하여 만든 Ti$O_{2-x}$ 박막을 시료로 사용하여 1M NaOH 용액에서 광전기화학적 성질을 연구하였다. 높은 온도에서 제조된 Ti$O_{2-x}$ 전극들은 낮은 온도에서 제조된 전극들보다 더 음의 값으로 주어지는 flat band potential($V_{fb}$)과 더 높은 donor density($N_D$)를 가졌다. 전극전위의 변화에 따른 광전류 측정과 Mott-Schottky plot로부터 얻은 $V_{fb}$는 -0.95 ∼ -1.1 V 사이에서 비슷한 값으로 주어졌다. 자외부 영역의 광을 완전히 차단하는 TiO2 단결정을 필터로 하여 가시부 영역의 광전류를 측정할 때 분해능이 좋은 slit를 사용한 경우 좋은 sub band gap 광반응을 볼 수 있었다.

A novel route restoring method upon geo-tagged photos

  • Sharing geo-tagged photos has been a hot social activity in the daily life because these photos not only contain geo information but also indicate people's hobbies, intention and mobility patterns. However, the present raw geo-tagged photo routes cannot provide information as enough as complete GPS trajectories due to the defects hidden in them. This paper mainly aims at analyzing the large amounts of geo-tagged photos and proposing a novel travel route restoring method. In our approach we first propose an Interest Measure Ratio to rank the hot spots based on density-based spatial clustering arithmetic. Then we apply the Hidden Semi-Markov model and Mean Value method to demonstrate migration discipline in the hot spots and restore the significant region sequence into complete GPS trajectory. At the end of the paper, a novel experiment method is designed to demonstrate that the approach is feasible in restoring route, and there is a good performance.

  • In this paper we represented electroplating process without seed layers for making metal micro structures needed for applying terminal voltage for one-to-one cell fusion system. In this system, we need thick insulator and metal structures because the diameter of a cell is approximately $40{\mu}m$. So, we adopted the photo-sensitive polyimide as electroplating molds and structural material. Generally, the processes utilizing the photo-sensitive polyimide as molds have metal seed layers on the substrate as electroplating electrodes and requires wiring tasks to these seed layers. We proposed electroplating process without any seed layer on the Si-substrate and simulated P-N-P (electrode - Si substrate - electrode) junction on N-type silicon substrate. Leakage current from one metal structure to another which arise when terminal voltage is applied can be remarkably decreased by doping Boron in the region to be electroplated.
