KU-BAND 저 위상잡음 주파수 합성기 설계에 관한 연구 (A Study on Low Phase Noise Frequency Synthesizer Design for Ku-Band)

  • In the proposed paper, we designed low phase noise frequency synthesizer for Ku-band. The proposed up-mixing frequency synthesizer consists of narrow local oscillation part and variable frequency oscillation part. To improve the phase noise of frequency synthesizer, we analyze how the configuration of frequency synthesizer affect the phase noise. The implemented frequency synthesizer reduce the phase noise. The phase noise is -95.18dBc/Hz at 7kHz frequency offset in 16GHz and -94.27dBc/Hz at 7kHz frequency offset in 16.125GHz.

  • In this paper, we designed low phase noise frequency synthesizer with compact size for High frequency band (Ku-band). The paper addresses merits and demerits of single loop and dual loop frequency synthesizer. The phase noise characteristics of the phase-locked loop frequency synthesizer were predicted based on the analysis for phase noise contribution of noise sources. The proposed model in this paper more accurately predicts the low phase noise frequency synthesizer with compact size for high frequency band.

  • Phase locked AM신호 검파방식에서는 위상고정회로를 사용하여 입력신호로부터 반송신호를 분리 재생시킨다. 입력잡음은 백색 Gaussian잡음이고, 전려제어발진기의 자유발진주파수와 입력반송신호주파수가 같다는 가정하에 위상고정회로의 동작특성을 해석하고, 본 검파방식의 신호대 잡음비를 정량적으로 고찰하였다. Phase locked AM신호 검파방식은 종래의 검파방식에 비해서 잡음의 영향을 적게 받게됨을 본 해석에서 알 수 있다. In the phase locked AM signal detection, phase locked loop is used to extract a synchronous carrier from an input AM signal. Under the assumption that input noise is white Gaussian and free-running frequency of voltage controlled oscillator is the same that of an input carrier, operational behaviours of phase locked loop is analyzed and signal to noise ratio of the detection is derived quentitatively. The results show that the phase locked AM signal detection method offers a higher degree of noise mmunity than conventional AM signal detections.

  • Switched reluctance motor(SRM) has simple magnetic structure, and requires simple power electronic driving circuit. It is very useful for wide range adjustable speed drive system. But, SRM drive generates large vibration and acoustic noise because it is commutated individually by step pulse m.m.f of each phase pole. In the vibration and acoustic noise characteristics. The considerable vibration and noise is induced by radial deforming of stator, so the frequency of dominant vibration and noise is coincident with the frequency of natural mode frequency of mechanical structure. This radial vibration force is generated in the phase commutation region. This paper suggests the new electromagnetic structure of SRM with auxiliary commutation winding which is excited by direct current. This phase and commutation winding are coupled magnetically between one phase winding and the other. Therefore, the switch-off phase current is absorbed by the another phase winding. By this interaction of phase and commutation winding in commutation mechanism, vibration and noise is reduced. And this reduction effect is examined by the test of prototype machine. As a result, SRM with DC exciting commutation winding is very useful to reduce vibration and acoustic noise.

OFDM 송신 다이버시티 시스템에서의 위상잡음 영향 분석 (Analysis of Phase Noise Effects in OFDM Transmit Diversity Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 송신 다이버시티(diversity) 기법을 적용하는 OFDM 통신 시스템에서의 위 상잡음에 의한 영향을 분석하였다. OFDM 시스템은 위상잡음에 매우 민감한 특성을 가지는데 반송파 간섭 및 시스템 잡음의 증가를 초래함으로서 전체적인 시스템의 성능열화 현상이 나타나게 된다. 따라서 이러한 위상잡음의 영향을 분석하기 위하여 위상잡음의 분포특성 및 그 크기 정도를 모델링하고 이러한 위상잡음의 특성에 따라 어느 정도까지 시스템 성능이 열화 되는지를 고찰하였다. 이러한 열화 현상은 송신 다이버시티 구조에 따라 달라지는데 일반적으로 비교적 간단히 구현할 수 있는 2개 또는 3개의 송신안테나를 쓰는 경우와 송신 다이버시티 기법을 적용하지 않았을 때의 시스템 성능에 관하여 비교하고 분석하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 송신 및 수신 다이버시티(diversity) 기법을 적용하는 OFDM 통신 시스템에 서의 위상잡음에 의한 영향을 분석하였다. OFDM 시스템은 위상잡음에 매우 민감한 특성을 가지는데 반송파 간섭 및 시스템 잡음의 증가를 초래함으로서 전체적인 시스템의 성능열화 현상이 나타나게 된다. 따라서 이러한 위상잡음의 영향을 분석하기 위하여 위상잡음의 분포특성 및 그 크기 정도를 모델링하고 이러한 위상잡음의 특성에 따라 어느 정도까지 시스템 성능이 열화 되는지를 고찰하였다. 이러한 열화 현상은 송수신 다이버시티 구조에 따라 달라지는데 일반적으로 비교적 간단히 구현할 수 있는 2개의 송신 및 수신안테나를 쓰는 경우와 2개의 송신 안테나 다이버시티 기법만을 적용한 경우, 그리고 다이버시티 기법을 적용하지 않았을 때의 시스템 성능에 관하여 비교하고 분석하였다.

SRM의 저소음 구동을 위한 여자방식에 따른 특성해석 (Characteristic Analysis of Excitation Method for Reduction of Acoustic Noise of SRM)

  • Switched reluctance drive does exhibit higher levels of vibration and acoustic noise than that of most competing drives. The main source of vibration in the switched reluctance drive is generated by rapid change of radial magnetic force when phase current is extinguished during commutation action. In this paper, some excitation method is proposed to reduce vibration and acoustic noise of the switched reluctance drive. The excitation strategies considered in this research are 1-phase, 2-phase and hybrid excitation method. 1-phase method is a conventional and 2-phase method is excited 2 phases simultaneously. The hybrid excitation has 2-phase excitation by long dwell angle as well as conventional 1-phase excitation. The vibration and acoustic noise are compared and tested. Suggested 2-phase and hybrid strategies reduce acoustic noise because the scheme reduces abrupt change of excitation level by distributed and balanced excitation.

A Performance Comparison of Excitation Strategies For a Low Noise SRM Drive

  • A simple construction, low cost, and a fault tolerant power electronic drive have made the switched reluctance drive a strong contender for many applications. But the switched reluctance drive exhibits higher levels of vibration and acoustic noise than most competing drives. The main source of vibration in the switched reluctance drive is generated by the rapid change of radial magnetic force when the phase current is extinguished during commutation. In this paper, some excitation methods are proposed to reduce the vibration and acoustic noise of the switched reluctance drive. The excitation strategies considered in this research are 1-phase, 2-phase and hybrid excitation methods. The 1-phase method is the conventional approach, while in the 2-phase method, the two phases are excited simultaneously. The hybrid excitation has 2-phase excitation using a long dwell angle as well as conventional 1-phase excitation. The vibration and acoustic noise are compared and tested. The suggested 2-phase and hybrid strategies reduce acoustic noise because the schemes reduce the abrupt change in excitation level by using distributed and balanced excitation.

  • An alternative inverse feedback structure for adaptive active control of periodic noise is introduced for systems with nonminimum phase cancellation path. To obtain the inverse model of the nonminimum phase cancellation path, the cancellation path model can be factorized into a minimum phase term and a maximum phase term. The maximum phase term containing unstable zeros makes the inverse model unstable. To avoid the instability, we alter the inverse model of the maximum phase system into an anti-causal FIR one. An LMS predictor estimates the future samples of the noise, which are necessary for causality of both anti-causal FIR approximation for the stable inverse of the maximum phase system and time-delay existing in the cancellation path. The proposed method has a faster convergence behavior and a better transient response than the conventional FX-LMS algorithms with the same internal model control structure since a filtered reference signal is not required. We compare the proposed methods with the conventional methods through simulation studies.

고출력, 저위상잡음 Ku-대역 위상동기발진기설계 (Design of the Ku-band Phase Locked Oscillator for high power and low phase noise.)

  • 본 논문에서는 저 위상잡음과 고출력 특성을 나타내는 Ku-대역 위상동기발진기를 설계하였다. 발진기소자의 비 선형 파라메터를 분석하여 위상잡음과 발진기출력에 영향을 주는 파라메터의 관계를 최적화시켜 저 위상잡음과 고 출력 특성을 절충되는 바이어스를 구하였다. 위상동기 발진기의 고 안정 특성을 위하여 전치분주형으로 설계하였으며 실험한 결과 위상동기된 상태에서 발진기출력은 10.17dBm이었으며 위상잡음은 13.25GHz에서 10KHz 떨어진 주파수에서 -82d3c/Hz을 보여 10dBm의 출력과 -84dBc/Hz@10KHz에 매우 근접함을 알 수 있었다.
