The regulations to reduce energy consumption and carbon dioxide emission in building sectors are being developed and promoted all over the world. However, in Korea, as balcony extension of the apartments has been legally allowed, it became prevalent and resulted in excessive energy consumption. This study derived the possibility of PCM application to the thermal storage wall system through theoretical consideration and investigated the problems occurring when the balcony space has been extended to the diverted space. In addition, this study aims at the possibility of verifying the installation and confirming the cooling energy reduction effect, by conducting measuring tests with the actual installation of PCM applied thermal storage wall system. As a result of theoretical consideration, it is determined that the disadvantages with the existing thermal storage wall system can be complemented by applying PCM, and this study suggests the PCM applied Thermal Storage Wall System. The study was conducted on 1/6 of a miniature inner room of a domestic apartment with 84 $m^2$ of exclusive area. From the results of actual measurements, it is confirmed that the balcony extension structure can gain 11.3% of more calories than the existing balcony structure, resulting in the increase in cooling energy usage. It is determined that the installation of the PCM applied Thermal Storage Wall System may gain 25.2% of less calories to reduce cooling energy usage.
We described an estimation of measurement uncertainty in quantitative analysis of 11-nor-9-carboxy-${\Delta}^9$-tetrahydrocannabinol (THCCOOH), the major metabolite of ${\Delta}^9$-tetrahydrocannabinol, in urine sample by solid-phase extraction (SPE) and GC/MS detection. The analytical results were compared and the different contributions to the uncertainty were evaluated. Inter-day and inter-person validation were performed using statistical analysis of several indicative factors. Measurement uncertainty associated with target analyte in real forensic samples was estimated using quality control (QC) data. Traceability of measurement was established through traceable standards, calibrated volumetric glassware and volume measuring device. The major factors of contribution to combined standard uncertainty, were calibration linearity, inter-day repeatability and inter-person reproducibility, while those associated with preparation of analytical standards and sampling volume were not so important considering the degree of contribution. Relative combined standard uncertainties associated with the described method was 12.05% for THCCOOH.

Liquid crystal known as a rheological barrier to coaleseence of oil dorplets. increases. emulsion stability, water-holding capacity and promotes active material penetration to skin. Some investigation for its rheological characteristics have been reported but its relations to consumer perception have been rarely published. In this study oil/water emulsion and oil/liquid crystal/water systems were manufactured using the same composition of Behenyltrimethylammonium chloride/Cetostearyl alcohol/Lanolin oil. and rheological properties of each system were investigated with Cone and Plate rheometer. The formation of liquid crystalline phase was observed with polarized microscope and Differential Scanning Calorimeter. Continuous shear experiment, creep yield and water holding capacity were measured for oil/water and oil/liquid crystal/water systems. The results were compared with sensory evaluations. Oil/liquid crystal/water system showed higher viscosity at the same shear rate, higher viscoelasticity and higher yield stress than oil/water system. These properties were expected to show good spreadability and excellent richness without waxiness I hair care products of creme type. This expectation was consistent with the results of sensory experiments. Water-holding capacity was evaluated by measuring residual water of specimens at specific temperature and relative humidity, Oil/liquid crystal/water system was proved to have ability to hold water in comparison with oil/water system. The results indicated that oil/liquid crystal/water system was of benefit to rheological properties creme type hair care products.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to radiographically evaluate marginal bony changes in relation to different vertical positions of dental implants. Methods: Two hundred implants placed in 107 patients were examined. The implants were classified by the vertical positions of the fixture-abutment connection (microgap): 'bone level,' 'above bone level,' or 'below bone level.' Marginal bone levels were examined in the radiographs taken immediately after fixture insertion, immediately after second-stage surgery, 6 months after prosthesis insertion, and 1 year after prosthesis insertion. Radiographic evaluation was carried out by measuring the distance between the microgap and the most coronal bone-to-implant contact (BIC). Results: Immediately after fixture insertion, the distance between the microgap and most coronal BIC was $0.06{\pm}0.68\;mm$; at second surgery, $0.43{\pm}0.83\;mm$; 6 months after loading, $1.36{\pm}0.56\;mm$; and 1 year after loading, $1.53{\pm}0.51\;mm$ ($mean{\pm}SD$). All bony changes were statistically significant but the difference between the second surgery and the 6-month loading was greater than between other periods. In the 'below bone level' group, the marginal bony change between fixture insertion and 1 year after loading was about 2.25 mm, and in the 'bone level' group, 1.47 mm, and in 'above bone level' group, 0.89 mm. Therefore, the marginal bony change was smaller than other groups in the 'above bone level' group and larger than other groups in the 'below bone level' group. Conclusions: Our results demonstrated that marginal bony changes occur during the early phase of healing after implant placement. These changes are dependent on the vertical positions of implants.
A steady-state/transient performance simulation model was newly developed for the propulsion system of the CRW (Canard Rotor Wing) type UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) during flight mode transition. The CRW type UAV has a new concept RPV (Remotely Piloted Vehicle) which can fly at two flight modes such as the take-off/landing and low speed forward flight mode using the rotary wing driven by engine bypass exhaust gas and the high speed forward flight mode using the stopped wing and main engine thrust. The propulsion system of the CRW type UAV consists of the main engine system and the duct system. The flight vehicle may generally select a proper type and specific engine with acceptable thrust level to meet the flight mission in the propulsion system design phase. In this study, a turbojet engine with one spool was selected by decision of the vehicle system designer, and the duct system is composed of main duct, rotor duct, master valve, rotor tip-jet nozzles, and variable area main nozzle. In order to establish the safe flight mode transition region of the propulsion system, steady-state and transient performance simulation should be needed. Using this simulation model, the optimal fuel flow schedules were obtained to keep the proper surge margin and the turbine inlet temperature limitation through steady-state and transient performance estimation. Furthermore, these analysis results will be used to the control optimization of the propulsion system, later. In the transient performance model, ICV (Inter-Component Volume) model was used. The performance analysis using the developed models was performed at various flight conditions and fuel flow schedules, and these results could set the safe flight mode transition region to satisfy the turbine inlet temperature overshoot limitation as well as the compressor surge margin. Because the engine performance simulation results without the duct system were well agreed with the engine manufacturer's data and the analysis results using a commercial program, it was confirmed that the validity of the proposed performance model was verified. However, the propulsion system performance model including the duct system will be compared with experimental measuring data, later.
[ $WO_3$ ]powders were ball-milled with an alumina ball for 0-72 hours. $In_2O_3$ doped $WO_3$ was prepared by soaking ball-milled $WO_3$ in an $InCl_3$ solution. The mixed powder was annealed at $700^{\circ}C$ for 30 min in an air atmosphere. A paste for screen-printing the thick film was prepared by mixing the $WO_3$:In2O3 powders with ${\alpha}$-terpinol and glycerol. $In_2O_3$ doped $WO_3$ thick films were fabricated into a gas sensor by a screen-printing method on alumina substrates. The structural properties of the $WO_3$:$InO_3$ thick films were a monoclinic phase with a (002) dominant orientation. The particle size of the $WO_3$:$InO_3$ decreased with the ball-milling time. The sensing characteristics of the $In_2O_3$ doped $WO_3$ were investigated by measuring the electrical resistance of each sensor in the test-box. The highest sensitivity to 5 ppm $CH_4$ gas and 5 ppm $CH_3CH_2CH_3$ gas was observed in the ball-milled $WO_3$:$InO_3$ gas sensors at 48 hours. The response time of $WO_3$:$In_2O_3$ gas sensors was 7 seconds and recovery time was 9 seconds for the methane gas.
Lithium dihydrogen phosphate ($LiH_2PO_4$) powder was purchased from Aldrich Chemical Co. From the scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation, these polycrystals have dimensions in the range of $25-250{\mu}m$. The electrical conductivity was measured at a measuring frequency of 1 kHz on heating polycrystalline lithium dihydrogen phosphate ($LiH_2PO_4$) from room temperature to 493 K. Two anomalies appeared at 451 K ($T_{p1}$) and 469 K ($T_{p2}$). The electrical conductivity reached the magnitude of the superprotonic phases: $3{\times}10^{-2}{\Omega}^{-1}cm^{-1}$ at 451 K ($T_{p1}$) and $1.2{\times}10{\Omega}^{-1}cm^{-1}$ at 469 K ($T_{p2}$). It is uncertain whether the superprotonic phase transformations are due to polymorphic transitions in the bulk, surface transitions, or chemical reactions (thermal decomposition) at the surface. Considering several previous thermal studies (differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry), our experimental results seem to be related to the last case: chemical reactions (thermal decomposition) at the surface with the progressive solid-state polymerization.
Introducing distributed generators(DGs) to utility distribution system can cause malfunction of relay on the grid when ground faults or severe load unbalances are occurred on the system. Because DGs interconnected to the grid can contribute fault currents and make bidirectional power flows on the system, fault currents from DGs can cause an interference of relay operation. A directional over current relay(DOCR) can determine the direction of power flow whether a fault occurs at the source side or load side through detecting the phases of voltage and current simultaneously. However, it is identified in this paper that the contributed fault current(Ifdg) from the ground source when was occurred to contribute single-line-to-ground(SLG) fault current, has various phases according to the distances from the ground source. It means that the directionality of Ifdg may not be determined by simply detecting the phases of voltage and current in some fault conditions. The magnitude of Ifdg can be estimated approximately as high as 3 times of a phase current and its maximum is up to 2,000 A depending on the capacity of generation facilities. In order to prevent malfunction of relay and damage of DG facilities from the contribution of ground fault currents, Ifdg should be limited within a proper range. Installation of neutral ground reactor (NGR) at a primary neutral of interconnection transformer was suggested in the paper. Capacity of the proposed NGR can be adjusted easily by controlling taps of the NGR. An algorithm for unidirectional relay was also proposed to prevent the malfunction of relay due to the fault current, Ifdg. By the algorithm, it is possible to determine the directionality of fault from measuring only the magnitude of fault current. It also implies that the directionality of fault can be detected by unidirectional relay without replacement of relay with the bidirectional relay.
Tin oxide thin films were fabricated on glass substrates by the successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method at room temperature and ambient pressure. Before measuring their properties, all samples were annealed at $500^{\circ}C$ for 2 h in air. Film thickness increased with the number of cycles; X-ray diffraction patterns for the annealed $SnO_2$ thin films indicated a $SnO_2$ single phase. Thickness of the $SnO_2$ films increased from 12 to 50 nm as the number of cycles increased from 20 to 60. Although the optical transmittance decreased with thickness, 50 nm $SnO_2$ thin films exhibited a high value of more than 85%. Regarding electronic properties, sheet resistance of the films decreased as thickness increased; however, the measured resistivity of the thin film was nearly constant with thickness ($3{\times}10^{-4}ohm/cm$). From Hall measurements, the 50 nm thickness $SnO_2$ thin film had the highest mobility of the samples ($8.6cm^2/(V{\cdot}s)$). In conclusion, optical and electronic properties of $SnO_2$ thin films could be controlled by adjusting the number of SILAR cycles.
The purpose of this study is to develop brassiere patterns which are both fitting and functional for women aged 19 to 24(the 1924 generation). We suggested a 'size chart for body measurements' for constructing basic brassiere patterns with six sizes of '70, 75', 'AA, A, B cups', which are used most frequently by the 1924 generation consumers. The scope of research was in reference to the statistical analysis results of the Size Korea(2004) body measurements and the results of the data from the preceding research. The 'drafting method for constructing basic brassiere patterns for the 1924 generation consumers' was completed by selecting a total of 18 subjects, 3 for each six sizes in the scope of research, and three wearing tests were carried out with the subjects. We compiled one brassiere pattern in six sizes obtained with the drafting method of constructing a basic brassiere pattern on another by block pattern in order to observe the phase of change in dimensions and shapes of paper pattern. The result was converted into the variations of a x-axis and a y-axis, and we suggested 'Size Grading Rule' and 'Cup Grading Rule' for the basic brassiere patterns. As the results of the wearing evaluation of the basic brassieres and measuring the variation in body dimensions by wearing brassieres, the dimensions and shapes of the basic brassieres suggested in this research proved to be fitting and to have a wearing effect that brings together and supports the breasts.
