The behavior variation of concrete dam is investigated, based on a new method for analyzing the data model of concrete dam in service process for the limitation of wavelet transform for solving concrete dam service process model. The study takes into account the time and position of behavior change during the process of concrete dam service. There is no dependence on the effect quantity for overcoming the shortcomings of the traditional identification method. The panel data model is firstly proposed for analyzing the behavior change of composite concrete dam. The change-point theory is used to identify whether the behavior of concrete dams changes during service. The phase space reconstruction technique is used to reconstruct the phase plane of the trend effect component. The time dimension method is used to solve the construction of multi-transformation model of composite panel data. An existing 76.3-m-high dam is used to investigate some key issues on the behavior change. Emphasis is placed on conversion time and location for three time periods consistent with the practical analysis report for evaluating the validity of the analysis method of the behavior variation of concrete dams presented in this paper.
Due to high specific strength and low density, AZ series magnesium alloys have been receiving high interest as a lightweight material. However, their industrial application is limited due to the phenomenon that the strength decreases at elevated temperature by the occurrence of softening effect because of the Mg17Al12 phase decomposition. To solve this problem, many research were conducted to increase the high-temperature strength by forming a thermal stable second-phase component by adding new elements to the AZ magnesium. Especially, adding Ca to AZ magnesium has been reported that Ca forms the new second-phase. However, studies about the analysis of decomposition or precipitation temperature, formation composition, and components to understand the formation behavior of these precipitated phases are still insufficient. Therefore, the effect of Ca addition to AZ61 on the phase change and microstructure of the alloy during annealing was investigated. As a result of analysis of the initial and heat-treated specimen, AZ61 formed α-Mg matrix and precipitated phase of Mg17Al12, and AZX611 formed one more type of precipitated phase, Al2Ca. Also, Al2Ca was thermal stable at high temperatures. And after annealing, the laves phase was decomposed to under 10 ㎛ size and distributed in matrix.
In the present study, nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT) is developed for wave propagation of functionally graded (FG) nanoscale plate in the thermal environment by considering the porosity effect. $Si_3N_4$ as ceramic phase and SUS304 as metal phase are regarded to be constitutive material of FG nanoplate. The porosity effect is taken into account on the basis of the newly extended method which considers coupling influence between Young's modulus and mass density. The motion relation is derived by applying Hamilton's principle. NSGT is implemented in order to account for small size effect. Wave frequency and phase velocity are obtained by solving the problem via an analytical method. The effects of different parameters such as porosity coefficient, gradient index, wave number, scale factor and temperature change on phase velocity and wave frequency of FG porous nanoplate have been examined and been presented in a group of illustrations.
Reports on the comparison of clinical effect between non-surgical and surgical therapy, and the change of the clinical parameters during maintenance phase have been rarely presented in Korea. This study was to observe the clinical changes during maintenance phase of 6 months in patients with chronic periodontitis treated by non-surgical or surgical therapy in Department of Periodontics, Chonnam National University Hospital. Among the systemically healthy and non-smoking patients with moderate to severe chronic periodontitis, twenty eight patients (mean age: 47.5 years) treated by non-surgical therapy (scaling and root planning) and nineteen patients (mean age: 47.3 years) treated by surgical therapy (flap surgery) were included in this study. The periodontal supportive therapy including recall check and oral hygiene reinforcement was started as maintenance phase since 1 month of healing after treatment. Probing depth, gingival recession. clinical attachment level and tooth mobility were recorded at initial, baseline and 1, 2, 3 and 6 month of maintenance phase. The clinical parameters were compared between the non-surgical and surgical therapies using Student t-test and repeated measure ANOVA by initial probing depth and surfaces. Surgical therapy resulted in greater change in clinical parameters than non-surgical therapy. During the maintenance phase of 6 months, the clinical effects after treatment had been changed in different pattern according to initial probing depth and tooth surface. During maintenance phase, probing depth increased more and gingival recession increased less after surgical therapy, compared to non-surgical therapy. The sites of initial probing depth less than 3 mm lost more clinical attachment level, and the sites of initial probing depth more than 7 mm gained clinical attachment level during maintenance phase after non-surgical therapy, compared to surgical therapy. Non-surgical therapy resulted in greater reduction of tooth mobility than surgical therapy during maintenance phase. These results indicate that the clinical effects of non-surgical or surgical therapy may be different and may change during the maintenance phase.

This study aims to find out cooling characteristics of TMA(Tri-Methyl-Amine, ($CH_{3})_{3}N$) 25wt%-clathrate compound with ethanol($CH_{3}CH_{2}OH$) such as supercooling, phase change temperature and specific heat. For this purpose, ethanol is added as per weight concentration and cooling experiment is performed at $-6{\sim}-8^{\circ}C$, cooling heat source temperature, and it leads the following result. (1) Phase change temperature is decreased due to freezing point depression phenomenon. Especially, it is minimized as $3.8^{\circ}C$ according to cooling source temperature in case that 0.5w% of ethanol is added. (2) If 0.5wt% of ethanol is added, average supercooling degree is $0.9^{\circ}C $ and minimum supercooling is $0.8,\;0.7^{\circ}C$ according to cooling heat source temperature. The restraint effect of supercooling is shown. (3) Specific heat shows tendency to decrease if ethanol is added. It is $3.013{\sim}3.048\;kJ/kgK$ according to cooling heat source temperature if 0.5wt% of ethanol is added. Phase change temperature higher than that of water and inhibitory effect against supercooling can be confirmed through experimental study on cooling characteristics of TMA 25wt%-water clathrate compound by adding additive, ethanol. This can lead to shorten refrigerator operation time of low temperature thermal storage system and improve COP of refrigerator and efficiency of overall system. Therefore energy can be saved and efficiency can be improved much more.

This can lead to shorten refrigerator operation time of low temperature latent heat storage system and improve COP of refrigerator and efficiency of overall system. Therefore energy can be saved and efficiency can be improved much more.
New green phosphor is synthesized by reducing $LiAlO_2:xEu^{3+}$ phosphors in a low pressure $H_2$ atmosphere. The $LiAlO_2:xEu^{3+}$ prepared by a solid state reaction method is reported as red phosphor. The effect of the reduction treatment on the $LiAlO_2:xEu^{3+}$ on the crystalline phase change and photoluminescence (PL) property are characterized. The reduced phosphor had a broad green light spectrum centered at 524 nm. The PL intensity of the reduced phosphor increased to a maximum at the reduction temperature of $1100^{\circ}C$. The PL intensity decreased with a further increase in the reduction temperature. The crystalline phase constituting the reduced phosphor varied with the temperature. A new crystalline phase $Li_2Al_4O_7$ was observed at $1100^{\circ}C$. The origin of the green-light emission is discussed in relation to the crystalline phase change.
The shape memory effect results from the martensite transfomation of each individual grain. Thus it is necessary to study the texture and its variation. In this study the change of texture during thermal cycling and it's effect on shape memory ability are investigated. The major component of the rolling texture in the parent phase is identified (001) [110], and minor components are (112) [110], (111) [112], {hkl}<100> fiber texture is developed at $45^{\circ}$ from rolling direction. In the case of martensite phase, it is estimated that the major component is (011) [100] and the minor components are (105) [501], (010) [101] and (100) [001]. According to thermal cycling. severity of texture, especially (001) [110] component in parent phase and (011) [100] component in martensite phase are increased. The shape memory ability is increased with increase of thermal cycles and also increased as the direction of specimen approach to $45^{\circ}$ from rolling direction. After first thermal cycling the temperature of transformation can be define clearly and Ms and As are raised by thermal cycling.
The HPS(High Porosity Support, 39.3%) and the LPS( Low Porosity Support, 18.7%) were fabricated to investigate the phase transformation and the chance of microstructure with porosity of alumina support. Alumina sol was made using aluminum tri-sec $butoxide(ATSB,\; Al(O-Bu)_3)$, the membrane on porous support with different porosity and the membrane without support were fabricated. The $\theta$-to ${\alpha}-A1_2O_3$ phase transformation in the membranes was investigated using thin film X-ray diffraction (XRD), and the change of microstructure was observed using scanning electron microscopy(SEM). XRD patterns showed that the membrane on LPS and HPS had 10$0^{\circ}C$, 5$0^{\circ}C$ higher $\theta$-to ${\alpha}-A1_2O_3$ transformation temperature compared to the unsupported membrane. A similar effect was also observed in microstructure of the membranes, theoritical temperature difference were 97$^{\circ}C$ and 44$^{\circ}C$ by Crapeyron equation.
Not only difference of fatigue crack growth and propagation behavior resulted from the grain size, the hardness ratio and volume fraction in M.E.F. dual phase steel composed of martensite in hard phase and ferrite in soft phase, but also the effects of the plastic constraint were investigated by fracture mechanics and microstructural method. The main results obtained are as follows: 1) The fatigue endurance of M.E.F. steel increases with decreasing the grain size, increasing the ratio of hardness and volume fraction. 2) The initiation of slip and crack occures faster as the stress level goes higher. These phenomena result from the plastic constraint effect of the second phase. 3) The crack propagation rate in the constant stress level is faster as the grain size gets larger, the ratio of hardness lower and volume fraction smaller.
