This paper studies the free vibration behavior of trapezoidal shaped coupled double-layered graphene sheets (DLGS) system using first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) and incorporating nonlocal elasticity theory. Two nanoplates are assumed to be bonded by an interlayer van der walls force and surrounded by an external kelvin-voight viscoelastic medium. The governing equations together with related boundary condition are discretized using a mapping-differential quadrature method (DQM) in the spatial domain. Then the natural frequency of the system is obtained by solving the eigen value matrix equation. The validity of the current study is evaluated by comparing its numerical results with those available in the literature and then a parametric study is thoroughly performed, concentrating on the series effects of angles and aspect ratio of GS, viscoelastic medium, and nonlocal parameter. The model is used to study the vibration of DLGS for two typical deformation modes, the in-phase and out-of-phase vibrations, which are investigated. Numerical results indicate that due to Increasing the damping parameter of the viscoelastic medium has reduced the frequency of both modes and this medium has been able to overdamped the oscillations and by increasing stiffness parameters both in-phase and out-of-phase vibration frequencies increased.
The change of microstructures in the base metal during transient liquid phase bonding process of directionally Ni base superalloy, GTD-111 was investigated. Bonds were fabricated using a series of holding times(0-7.2ks) at three different temperatures(1403, 1418 and 1453K) under a vacuum of 13.3mPa. In raw material, ${\gamma}$- ${\gamma}$' eutectic phases, platelet η phases, MC carbide and PFZ were seen in interdendritic regions or near grain boundary and size of primary ${\gamma}$' precipitates near interdendritic regions were bigger than core region. The primary ${\gamma}$' precipitates in dendrite core were dissolved early in bonding process, but ${\gamma}$' precipitates near interdendritic regions were dissolved partially and shape changed. The dissolution rate increased with increasing temperature. Phases in interdendritic regions or near pain boundary continually changed with time at the bonding temperature. In the bonding temperature of 1403K, eutectic phases had not significantly changed, but η phases had transformed from platelet shape to needle morphology and PFZ region had widened with time. The interdendritic region and near pain boundary were liquated partially at 1423k and fully at 1453k by reaction of η phases and PFZ. In the bonding temperature of 1453K, interdendritic region and near pain boundary were liquated and then new phases which mixed with η phases, PFZ and MC carbide crystallized during cooling. Crystallized η phases transformed from rod shape to platelet shape with increasing holding time.

The effects of nitrogen on the deformation behavior of duplex stainless steel have been studied The variation of strength was correlated with the characteristic microstructures. Analysis based on Hall-Petch relation confirmed that nitrogen enhances phase-boundary strengthening effect. The evolution of dislocation structure, slip traces, and misorientation distribution during deformation were also characterized to elucidate the effect of nitrogen on inelastic deformation mechanism.

Two techniques for the verification of the phase separation in ferrite phase of primary pressure bounary component materials, the primary cause of thermal aging embrittlement, are presented. Data base of room-temperature Charpy V-notch impact energy during reactor service was estimated as a measure of the degree of embrittlement. The serviceable period of CF-3 and CF-8 alloys as the primary pressure boundary components may be acceptably extended for 60 years of lifetime. However, the integrity of CF-8M alloys can be degraded seriously after several years of service in the nuclear reactor.
In this study, crystal structural changes and dielectric properties of $(1-x)Pb(Yb_{1/2}Nb_{1/2})O_3-xPbTiO_3$ ((1-x)PYN-xPT) solid solutions were measured and analyzed with respect to the $PbTiO_3$ (PT) contents ($0.40{\leq}x{\leq}0.60$). From X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements, (1-x)PYN-xPT solid solutions showed changes of the crystal structure from pseudocubic ($0.40{\leq}x{\leq}0.44$) to tetragonal ($0.52{\leq}x{\leq}0.60$) on increasing PT contents and exhibited the coexistence of pseudocubic and tetragonal phase near the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) composition ($0.46{\leq}x{\leq}0.50$). The dielectric constant showed a maximum value at x = 0.46 and the maximum values in (1-x)PYN-xPT decreased with higher PT contents. The phase transition temperatures of (1-x)PYN-xPT solid solutions increased over the whole composition ranges tested ($0.40{\leq}x{\leq}0.60$).

A numerical method for treating transient diffusion Involving change of phase is presented. In other methods of dealing with this class of problems, the mass flux balance at the moving phase boundary requires explicit treatment of two distinct phases. The technique, originating from the apparent heat capacity method in transient heat conduction with the phase change, avoids the difficulty by transferring the concentration discontinuity at the boundary to smoothed physical property variations near the moving front. This technique accomodates the nonlinearities which preclude use of analytical solutions. It was tested against known analytical solutions for simple cases and turned out to be quite accurate.

Morphotropic phase boundary (MPB), which is a special boundary that separates two or multiple different phases in the phase diagram of some ferroelectric ceramics, is an important concept in identifying physics that includes piezoelectric responses. MPB, which had not been discovered in organic materials until recently, was discovered in poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-trifluoroethylene (P(VDF-TrFE)), resulting from a molecular approach. The piezoelectric coefficient of P(VDF-TrFE) in this MPB region was achieved up to -63.5 pC N-1, which is about two times as large as the conventional value of -30 pC N-1 of P(VDF-TrFE). An order-disorder arrangement greatly affects the rise of the piezoelectric effect and the ferroelectric, paraelectric and relaxor ferroelectric of P(VDF-TrFE), so the arrangement and shape of the polymer chain is important. In this review, we investigate the origin of negative longitudinal piezoelectric coefficients of piezoelectric polymers, which is definitely opposite to those of common piezoelectric ceramics. In addition to the mainly discussed issue about MPB behaviors of ferroelectric polymers, we also introduce the consideration about polymer chirality resulting in relaxor ferroelectric properties. When the physics of ferroelectric polymers is unveiled, we can improve the piezoelectric and pyroelectric properties of ferroelectric polymers and contribute to the development of next-generation sensor, energy, transducer and actuator applications.

The $(Na_{0.52}K_{0.44})(Nb_{0.9}Sb_{0.06})O_3-0.04dLiTaO_3$ (NKNS-LT) ceramics with various $Cu_2O$ concentration were prepared by the conventional solid state reaction method. The $Cu_2O$ content was varied in the range of 0.1~0.4 wt%. The effects of Cu on microstructure, crystallographic phase transition, and piezoelectric properties were investigated. The material with perovskite structure had a tetragonal phase (T1) when $Cu_2O$ concentration was less than 0.3 wt% and it transformed to another tetragonal phase (T2) when the $Cu_2O$ amount was greater than 0.3 wt%. The phase boundary between T1 and T2 phases appeared at around 0.3 wt% of $Cu_2O$ concentration. The piezoelectric properties were shown the maximum values at the composition of the phase boundary. The electro-mechanical coupling factor ($k_p$) was 0.42 and the piezoelectric charge constant ($d_{33}$) was 245 pC/N at the 0.3 wt% of $Cu_2O$ concentration.

In order to analyze pulsating flows in elastic blood vessels, a method based on the ALE concept and finite volume method was reformed and modulated to include wall motion of elastic vessels and impedance phase angle(phase difference between wall motion and blood flow). Our study indicated wall shear rates(WSR) were significantly influenced by the wall motion and the impedance phase angle. For larger wall motion more than $5{\%},$ the computed WSR started to deviate from the results of the perturbation theory that assumed smaller wall motion. The study showed that oscillatory shear index increased as the impedance phase angle became more negative like $-70{\circ}\;or\;-80{\circ}$ due to reduced mean WSR and increased amplitude of WSR. This result indicated that hypertensive patients are more vulnerable to atherosclerosis than normal persons because of the role of more negative impedance phase angles usually observed in these patients.
The effect of grain boundary structure on zigzag migrtion has been studied. Five kinds of a(2110)-m(1010) diffusion couples with different twist angles by 30$^{\circ}$from a [0001] common direction of each plane were prepared. When chromia (Cr2O3) was added to the diffusion couples by a vapor phase, zigzag migration of the grain boundary occurred. The fraction of zigzag migration did not essentially vary with the twist angle, but the magnitude and migration distance of individual migrating segment varied. The variation of CIGM morphology thus appears to result from the change in grain boundary mobility due to microscopic deviation of grain boundary structure out of a macroscopic grain boundary orientation.
