비선형 chirp 신호를 이용한 수중음향통신 (Underwater Acoustic Communication Using Nonlinear Chirp Signal)

  • 본 논문에서는 수중음향통신에서 비선형 chirp 변조 신호를 사용하는 방법을 제안한다. 과거 대부분의 수중음향통신에서는 반송파의 크기, 주파수 또는 위상에 정보를 실었다. 이에 반해 제안된 방법은 심볼 내에서 반송파의 주파수 변화율에 정보를 포함하게 된다. 특히, 반송파로 비선형 chirp 신호의 일종인 하이퍼볼릭 주파수 변조 신호를 사용하는 경우, 도플러 채널에서 강한 특성을 가진다. 제안된 방법은 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존 방법과 비교 및 분석하였다. 제안된 방식과 선형 주파수 변조 신호를 갖는 기존 방식을 비교하였을 때 도플러 편이가 있는 경우 제안된 방법의 오차 확률이 평균 5~12 % 감소하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한 제안된 방법의 성능을 분석하기 위해 해상실험이 수행되었다.

  • This paper describes a simulation method of the correlation-signal output, which has Doppler effect (variation of amplitude, phase, and frequency) caused by the moving-effect of target and encounter conditions. Using these results, we can develope and verify the algorithm of the signal processing parts of the code correlation range sensor with ease.

SPRAY STRUCTURE OF HIGH PRESSURE GASOLINE INJECTOR IN A GASOLINE DIRECT INJECTION ENGINE

  • This study is focussed on the investigation of spray characteristics from the high pressure gasoline injector for the application of gasoline direct injection engine. For the analysis of spray structure of high pressure gasoline injector; the laser scattering method with a Nd-Yag laser and the Phase Doppler particle analyzer system were applied to observe the spray development and the measurement of the droplet size and velocity of the spray, respectively. Also spatial velocity distribution of the spray droplet was measured by use of the particle image velocity system. Experimental results show that high pressure gasoline injector shapes the hollow-cone spray, and produce the upward ring shaped vortex on the spray surface region. This upward ring shaped vortex promotes the secondary atomization of fuel droplets and contributes to a uniform distribution of fuel droplets. Most of fuel droplets are distributed under 31$\mu m$ of the mean droplet size (SMD) and the frequency distribution of the droplet size under 25$\mu m$ is over 95% at 7 MPa of injection pressure. According to the experimental results of PIV system, the flow patterns of the droplets velocity distribution in spray region are in good agreement with the spray macroscopic behaviors obtained from the visualization investigation.

유해배기가스 저감을 위한 Hole형 노즐의 미립화 특성실험 (Atomization Characteristics Experiment of Hole Type Nozzle for the Reduction of Harmful Exhausted Gas)

  • A simplified experiment was performed to figure out the atomization characteristics of rice-bran oil which it is highly viscous liquid by applying ultrasonic energy. A spray system, an ultrasonic system, and three kinds of hole-type nozzles(hole diameter: 0.31, 0.34, 0.37mm) were manufactured. To investigate the effects of ultrasonic energy on the atomization of a highly viscous liquid, a phase doppler particle analyzer was used for measurement and calculation of spray droplets data. Nozzle opening pressures were chosen of 3 levels, i.e, 16, 20, and 24MPa. As a result, it could be concluded that the ultrasonic energy was effective to improve the spray atomization when it applied to the fuel by means of 3 different nozzles because of the effects of the liquid fuel cavitation and relaxation between molecules caused by ultrasonic energy. The improvement rate of the spray atomization by the ultrasonic method compared with the conventional spray increased about 15% in the case of hole type nozzles. By increasing of the nozzle opening pressure and decreasing of the hole diameter, the atomization of spray droplets was improved.

Experimental Results of Ship's Maneuvering Test Using GPS

  • The Kinematic GPS is well known to provide a quite good accuracy of positioning within an level. Although kinematic GPS assures high precision measurement on the basis of an appreciable distance between a reference station and an observational point, it has measurable distance restriction within 20 km from a reference station on land. Therefore, it is necessary to make out a simple and low-cost method to obtain accurate positioning information without distance restriction In this paper, the velocity integration method to get the precise velocity information of a ship is explained. The experimental results of Zig-zag maneuver and Williamson turn as the ship's maneuvering test, and other experimental results of ship's movement during leaving and entering the port with low speed were shown. From the experimental results, ship's course, speed and position are compared with those obtained by kinematic-GPS, velocity integration method and dead reckoning position using Gyro-compass and Doppler-log.

  • Kinematic GPS provides quite good accuracy of position in cm level. Though K-GPS assures high precision measurement in cm level on the basis of an appreciable distance between a station and an observational point, but it has measurable distance restriction within 20 km from a reference station on land. In this paper, the velocity integration method to get the precise velocity information of ship is explained. Next two experimental results (Zig-zag maneuvering test and Williamson turn) as the ship's maneuvering test and also the experimental results of leaving and entering port as slow speed ship's movement were shown.   • This paper describes the fundamentals, design, realization and test results of a BPSK(Bi Phase Shift Keying) transceiver for the direction finding proximity fuze sensor for anti-aircrafts or air missiles. The BPSK transceiver for the direction finding fuze sensor has been designed to detect a moving target by Doppler signal processing with the code correlation method and to distinguish direction by comparing received powers of each Doppler signal from adjacent three receiving antennas. The electrical and ESS(Environmental Stress Screening) tests of the BPSK transceiver showed satisfactory results and target detection and direction finding performances proved to be successful through dynamic operation tests by 155 mm gun firing.

  • This paper concerns on modal analysis of mechanical structures by using a continuous scanning laser Doppler vibrometer. In modal analysis the Hilbert transform based approach is superior to the Fourier transform based approach because of its fine accuracy and its flexible experimental settings. In this paper the Hilbert transform based approach is extended to measure area mode shape data of a structure by simply modifying the scanning pattern ranging the entire surface of the structure. The effectiveness of this proposed method is illustrated along with results of numerical simulation for a rectangular plate.

  • 주파수 오차는 송 수신기내의 발진기의 오차와 송수신기의 이동속도에 의한 도플러 효과(doppler effect)로 인해 발생하는데 이러한 오차는 수신신호의 위상을 변화시켜 수신기의 성능을 떨어뜨리는 주요 요인 중 하나이다. 따라서 주파수 오차의 정밀한 추정 및 보상은 송 수신기의 필수적인 요소이다. 본 논문은 이러한 주파수 오차를 부분 상관을 이용하여 추정하는 새로운 방식을 제안하는데, 기존 방식에 비해 낮은 복잡도를 가진다. 또한 제안하는 방식은 주파수 추정 정확성의 손실 없이 주파수 오차 보상 범위의 조절이 가능하여 넓은 주파수 오차가 존재하는 시스템에 적합하다. 제안 방식의 검증을 위해 컴퓨터 모의실험 결과를 수행하고, 기존의 기법과 비교 분석하여 성능 및 복잡도에 이득이 있음을 보인다.

  • The intake swirl motion, as one of dominant effects for an engine combustion. is very effective for turbulence enhancement during the compression process in the cylinder of 2-valve engine. Because the combustion flame speed is determined by the turbulence that is mainly generated from the mean flow of the charge air motion in intake port system. This paper describes the experimental results of swirl flow and combustion characteristics by using the oil spot method and back-scattering Laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV) in 2-valve single cylinder transparent LPG engine using the liquid phase LPG injection. For this. various intake port configurations were developed by using the flow box system and swirl ratios for different intake port configurations were determined by impulse swirl meter in a steady flow rig test. And the effects of intake swirl ratio on combustion characteristics in an LPG engine were analyzed with some analysis parameters that is swirl ratio. mean flow coefficient, swirl mean velocity fuel conversion efficiency. combustion duration and cyclic variations of indicated mean effective pressure(IMEP). As these research results, we found that the intake port configuration with swirl ratio of 2.0 that has a reasonable lean combustion stability is very suitable to an $11{\ell}$ heavy-duty LPG engine with liquid phase fuel injection system. It also has a better mean flow coefficient of 0.34 to develope a stable flame kernel and to produce high performance. This research expects to clarify major factor that effects on the design of intake port efficiently with the optimized swirl ratio for the heavy duty LPG engine.
