A Study on Development of Achievement Standards and Assessment Standards of Vocational Inquiry Section for 2005 College Scholastic Ability Test - Focus on Food and Nutrition Subject in the Field of Home Economics Order - (2005 수능 직업탐구영역의 과목별 성취기준과 평가기준 개발 - 식품과 영양 과목을 중심으로 -)

  • This study attempted, in accordance with the National Educational Curriculum, to develop achievement assessment standards for a course within the field of home economics which has been widely adopted by Korean vocational high schools, namely, the food and nutrition subject. Focus was also placed on strengthening the management of the curriculum for this food and nutrition course, as well as on establishing proper assessment standards by developing model assessment tools which can be used to assess the subject. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : First, based on an analysis of the related literature and materials. the desired notion of the achievement and assessment standards was established, and their significance ascertained the achievement and assessment standards for the food and nutrition course were set and the type of model assessment tool which should be developed, as well as the method in which it should be applied. was established Second. by analyzing the curriculums and the contents of the textbooks used in the food and nutrition subject, the researcher was able to compile the 70 factors which could to be used to develop the achievement and assessments standards, and then classify these into 6 main categories and 32 sub-categories. Based on the characteristics of these factors and learners' academic performance levels the number of factors was expanded to 89 in order to establish the achievement standards. In turn, these achievement standards were used, in accordance with the learners' achievement and teaming activity levels, to develop three different levels of assessment standards. namely, upper, middle, and lower ones. Third. a model assessment tool was developed which could be used by individual school units as a reference in terms of achievement and assessment standards, and that could be modified to meet each school's circumstances. In order to create the model assessment tool a 100-question questionnaire was formulated that contained various types of questions, such as essay, report, theoretical and practical, portfolio, as well as multiple choice-type questions. Lastly, the researcher introduced measures to effectively use the achievement and assessment standards developed for the food and nutrition course, as well as the model assessment tool in school units.

Effects of Energy Level of Concentrate Feed on Meat Quality and Economic Evaluation in Finishing Hanwoo Steers (거세한우 비육후기 농후사료 에너지 수준이 육질 및 경제성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of energy level of concentrate feed in finishing Hanwoo steers for 6 months before slaughter. Feeding trial was done with 2 treatment groups, IDN72 (72% of TDN in concentrate) and TDN74 (74 % of TDN in concentrate). The body weight (from 19 to 24 months) tended to be higher in TDN74 than in TDN72, but was not significant. Average daily gain of TDN74 was higher by 4.4 % in comparison to TDN72. There was no significant differences in concentrate, dry matter and TDN intake per I kg body weight gain between TDN72 and TDN74. And there was a tendency to improve crude protein intake per I kg body weight gain by increasing TDN content from 72 to 74 %. The dressing percentage tended to be higher in TDN74 than in TDN72, but was not significant. Salable meat percentage tended to be lower in TDN74 than in TDN72 because of higher body fat percentage in TDN74 than in TDN72. There were no significant differences in marbling score, meat color, fat color, carcass weight, rib-eye area and back fat thickness between TDN72 and TDN74. Significant differences were not found in shear value, cooking loss, water holding capacity or moisture and protein contents of longissimus dorsi (LD) muscles between TDN72 and TDN74. Fat content of LD muscles tend to be lower in TDN74 than in IDN72 but without any significance. There was a tendency to improve juiciness and taste by feeding IDN74 rather than TDN72. Especially, tenderness of TDN74 was increased by 7.4% in comparison to TDN72 (p < 0.05). Gross income from TDN74 was higher than TDN72 by 5% The results suggested that significant differences were not found in growth performance, feed conversion and carcass characteristics between TDN72 and TDN74. The results also show that more studies are required to clarify the energy level for finishing Hanwoo steers.

Seismic Behavior of High-Strength Reinforced Concrete Bridge Columns (고강도 철근콘크리트 교각의 내진 거동)

  • This experimental investigation was conducted to examine the seismic performance of reinforced concrete bridge columns. The columns were subjected to a constant axial load and a cyclic horizontal load-inducing reversed bending moment. The variables studied in this research were the volumetric ratios of transverse reinforcement (ps=0.96, 1.44 percent) and axial load ratios (P/Po=0.05, 0.1, 0.2) and concrete strengths (35, 60MPa). Test results showed that bridge columns with $44\%$ higher amounts of transverse reinforcement than that required by seismic provisions of ACI 318-02 showed ductile behavior. For bridge columns with axial load ratio(P/Po) less than 0.2, the ratio of $M_{max}\;over\;M_{ACI}$, nominal moment capacity predicted by ACI 318-02 provisions, was consistently greater than 1 with approximately a $20\%$ margin of safety.

Counterfeit Money Detection Algorithm using Non-Local Mean Value and Support Vector Machine Classifier (비지역적 특징값과 서포트 벡터 머신 분류기를 이용한 위변조 지폐 판별 알고리즘)

  • Due to the popularization of digital high-performance capturing equipments and the emergence of powerful image-editing softwares, it is easy for anyone to make a high-quality counterfeit money. However, the probability of detecting a counterfeit money to the general public is extremely low. In this paper, we propose a counterfeit money detection algorithm using a general purpose scanner. This algorithm determines counterfeit money based on the different features in the printing process. After the non-local mean value is used to analyze the noises from each money, we extract statistical features from these noises by calculating a gray level co-occurrence matrix. Then, these features are applied to train and test the support vector machine classifier for identifying either original or counterfeit money. In the experiment, we use total 324 images of original money and counterfeit money. Also, we compare with noise features from previous researches using wiener filter and discrete wavelet transform. The accuracy of the algorithm for identifying counterfeit money was over 94%. Also, the accuracy for identifying the printing source was over 93%. The presented algorithm performs better than previous researches.

Effects of Activated Carbon Types and Service Life on Adsorption of Tetracycline Antibiotic Compounds in GAC Process (활성탄 재질 및 사용연수에 따른 Tetracycline계 항생물질 흡착특성)

  • Adsorption performance of tetracycline antibiotic compounds such as tetracycline(TC), oxytetracycline(OTC), chlortetracycline (CTC) and minocycline(MNC) on granular activated carbon(GAC) was evaluated in this study. The coal-based activated carbon was found to be more effective than other carbons in adsorption of tetracycline antibiotic compounds. The wood-based activated carbon was less effective than coconut- and coal-based carbon in adsorption nevertheless having larger pore volume and specific surface area than others carbons. The maximum adsorption capacities(X/M) of coal-based activated carbon for the four tetracycline species was 1.27$\sim$1.36 and 1.69$\sim$1.84 times larger than coconut- and wood-based activated carbon, respectively. Carbon usage rates(CUR) of coal-, coconut- and wood-based activated carbons for tetracycline(TC) were 2.96 g/day, 3.40 g/day and 4.53 g/day, respectively. Similar results were obtained in the adsorption of the rest three tetracycline species. It is concluded that coal-based activated carbon could removed the tetracycline antibiotic compounds better than other material-based activated carbons.

The effects of PNF combined patterns training on balance ability and functional ability of hockey players (PNF 통합패턴 트레이닝이 하키선수들의 균형능력과 기능적 능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was performed to examine effects of PNF combined pattern training on balance ability and functional ability of hockey players. In order to achieve this purpose, total 28 participants were separated into two group: 14 comparison group and 14 experiment group, and the experiment group performed PNF combined pattern training for 12 week, 3 times a week, 60 minutes a day. Each group was measured beforehand, after 6 week and 12 week. balance ability was measured using GOOD BALANCE system and functional ability was measured using carioca and shuttle-run test. For statistically verifying above measured values, repeated measure analysis of variance was analyzed and have following results. As the comparing results of balance ability, normal standing eye close(NSEC) was ant-post and velocity moment of experiment group showed significant differences(p<.05). And one leg right eye close(OLREC) was ant-post, med-lat and velocity moment of experiment group showed significant differences (p<.05). Also, dynamic balance ability was ant-post and velocity moment of experiment groups showed significant differences(p<.05). As the comparing results of functional ability, shuttle-run of experiment group sowed significant differences(p<.05). From above results, balance ability of hockey players was shown to be improved through symmetric training of PNF combined pattern applied to hockey players, and it can be considered that this is actively recommended for training method to improve athletic performance of hockey players.

Research on the Importance-Satisfaction Perception of Users of Private-Initiated Park Development Project - Focused on Jikdong Neighborhood Parks in Uijeongbu City - (민간공원 특례사업 추진 대상지 이용객의 중요도-만족도 인식에 관한 연구 - 의정부 직동근린공원을 대상으로 -)

  • This study was conducted to compare the perceptions of the park use status, importance, and satisfaction of users in the first implemented and completed Uijeongbu Jikdong Neighborhood Park among the private park special projects carried out as a countermeasure for long-term non-execution of urban parks. To this end, in the initiated project, apartment residents and non-residents were classified according to the promotion plan, and a questionnaire research on importance and satisfaction was conducted to analyze the park use status and IPA(importance-performance analysis). First, as a result of the analysis of the current situation in terms of locational characteristics that occur during the promotion of special projects for private parks, unlike the mountainous areas, the targeted site was close to flat land, indicating that users' satisfaction with the landscape was high. Second, the access of the apartment residents in the initiated project site was easy. Thus, the use rate of residents was relatively higher than that of the non-residents. Third, differences in perception by item were identified through the analysis of IPA and the establishment of strategies. In quadrant I, among the facilities and services, installing restrooms was the priority for residents, and parking facilities and rest facilities were the priority than installing restrooms for non-residents. In quadrant II, overall scores for residents and non-residents were similar, but the distance to the park was in quadrant III due to the low level of satisfaction among non-residents. In this study, the difference in perception between residents and non-residents may cause problems in access and facilities in managing the park in the future. Therefore, it would be necessary to find a way to improve it by establishing a management strategy that takes into account the difference in the perception of residents after construction. In addition, through the results of this study, it was judged that the purpose of park development, the selection of types of parks, and the selection of plans and management indicators for each kind would be significant in the promotion of initiated projects in the planning of park development.

  • L $a_{0.7}$S $r_{0.3}$G $a_{0.6}$F $e_{0.4}$ $O_{3-}$$\delta$/ perovskite-type mixed conducting membranes, which could permeate oxygen selectively, have been fabricated and the microstructural features developed by varying the sintering conditions have been analyzed. The effects of surface modification and the membrane thickness on oxygen permeability have been evaluated under He/air environment. With increasing a grain boundary fraction, the overall oxygen permeability decreased. The syngas (CO+ $H_2$) has been produced by partial oxidation reaction of methane with the oxygen permeated through the membrane. Methane conversion and syngas yield have been evaluated as functions of the compositional ratio of feed gas and reaction temperature. In long-term duration test for 600 h, under C $H_4$+He/air environment, L $a_{0.7}$S $r_{0.3}$G $a_{0.6}$F $e_{0.4}$ $O_{3-}$$\delta$/ membrane showed a highly stable performance.

Comparison of Four Different Isolation Media for Staphylococcus aureus (황색포도상구균 분리배지 비교)

  • Performance test was carried out between selective media which are generally used in Staphylococcus aureus isolation from food. Sensitivity, determined according to the appearance of characteristic colonies when 30 different S. aureus strains were tested, resulted as Baird-Parker agar (RPF)> $Petrifilm^{TM}$ Staph Express plate> Baird-Parker agar> Mannitol salt agar. Also, the four different media showed the same selectivity because all tested media did not produce the false positive colonies. Recovery efficiency from the artificially inoculated foodstuff was almost the same for the tested media. Presumptive colonies were collected from the dried fishery product using Mannitol salt agar and collected strains were tested on 4 different selective agar. Almost presumptive strains did not show the false positive colonies except for S. carnosus ssp carnosus. This strain was identified as false positive colonies on Mannitol salt agar, Baird-Parker agar and $Petrifilm^{TM}$ Staph Express plate. But Baird-Parker agar (RPF) did not show the false positive colonies with the same strains. So, it was concluded that the Baird-Parker agar (RPF) has more higher selectivity than other tested media in this experiment.

Proposal of statistical model adjusted environmental factor in genetic research for high quality Hanwoo production (고품질 한우 생산 유전자 연구에서 환경 요인을 보정한 통계적 모형 제안)

  • Individual phenotype is mostly influenced by genetic factors as well as the effects of environmental factors. Therefore, adjustment of environmental factors are needed in order to see more clearly the effects of genetic factors that we are interested in gene screening study related to Hanwoo's economic trait. The purpose of this study is to propose new statistical model that was adjusted environmental factor and identify adjustment effect in a superior gene marker screening study for producing high quality Hanwoo. First, statistical model including both genetic factor and environmental factor establishes and adjusted value of economic trait find by removing effect of environmental factor such as age, breeding farm. Finally, we identify superior gene marker combination and compare accuracy by applying MDR to data of before and after adjustment. Economic trait is used C18:1, SFA, MUFA, MS, CWT, BFT and SNP marker is used 6 markers of LPL that were identified as more excellent SNP marker than the others among 49 markers through fatty acid composition and economic trait performance test.
